I want to state I do not have a problem with the service. I have found the tech's that come out very professional and they come when they state they will. The problem I have is the original sales person, who was very deceptive in his sales approach. Told me about the service and that during one year that they do 6 treatments a year, and that it would cost me $75, he lead me to believe that it was $75 per treatment. I thought that was a great deal so I signed the contract. Then when it came time to pay, only then did he say that the $75 was going to be coming out of my account monthly. I called him out on it and he stated oh I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, now to cancel it will cost me $200. I told him that I would go the 12 months and then cancel when the contract was up. He didn't give me much time to review the contract and I am now finding out that the contract was for 18 months. I am so disgusted with this company. This is now costing me $1350 and I orginally thought it would only cost me $450. He should be FIRED!!! I am now stuck with this bill. They would come and walk around and spray seemingly randomly. We still got weird bugs and ladybugs coming into the house. They set traps, but after several years never once mentioned actually catching any mice. We even had a hornets nest that we found the day after they had come...so they did come back and remove that for free, but should have caught it in the first place. When they tried to raise the price by a significant amount, we called to cancel. It was ridiculous. They offered a lower rate, but no. Fed up with them. It's been six months now and we're not seeing additional pests or bugs... Clearly we didn't need them. read more

I signed up for active pest control on June 25 of last year. I was told it was an 18 month contract where we would be billed four times a year for a total of six billing cycles. I gave my account to my savings as an automatic payment method. They send text messages when they are coming out. I was not aware that they charge a fee every time they came out. In very small print in the contract, they claim that they may come out as often as every 50 days if they choose which they did so I was basically build almost every month $159 I was unaware of this because it was on automatic payment. I just discovered it I have spent $1250 since last June 25 on pest control and most of those months were built in the winter when we don't need it. I feel that this is a scam that they are robbing their customers I called and pleaded with the supervisor Randy to make good and either refund some of the money or come out in the future free of charge for applications and she refused There was one month when they actually came out much less than 50 days so she did refund me that one month but to me I would never ever ever use this company. I think that they are trying to scam their customers out of as much money as possible. read more

Do NOT recommend Aptive. They promised the world when the sales guys came out but have failed to deliver. They said they would schedule appointments with me so I can keep my animals inside, instead they give a window of an ENTIRE DAY, not the 2hr window sales claimed. We had chickens penned up for the entire 90degree day only to have them show at almost 6pm. They did not follow instructions and wound up leaving dead mice in my shed. They didn't remove the dead mice, nor did they place new traps. I tried texting and calling them only to get an overseas call center that had no idea what was happening. After several days of trying to get them to fix their visit, all they did was schedule the next treatment a week later, again with no timeframe other than 8-5 which is not acceptable. Plus, if you spray for ticks and mosquitoes, the predators starve and the next year the ticks and mosquito population skyrockets. Once during the afternoon, my husband told him he was not interested and we use another company as I like them. Then he comes by while we were not home (we have a doorbell camera) a bit after 6 pm...THEN he shows up at 7:47 PM!! SEVEN FORTY SEVEN AT NIGHT! I told him again we are not interested, he proceeded to tell me my husband wanted him to speak with me, this is so far from the truth. Literally lied to my face. I did sign up without checking or researching them which was also a bad move on my part as well. The next day I cancelled as I could with a legal 3 day recission opportunity. That cancellation was ignored and since then, I have been sent numerous calls, texts and emails asking to schedule their service. I read numerous reviews that reflected this tactic and I can confirm it is all true. I even cancelled my credit card because they were apparently unwilling to accept the word "NO". Technician Joe came to our home around 8:30 in the morning, asking about the service we wanted. I told him we wanted preventive service for Carpenter ants and he immediately said the don't treat for carpenter ants. He made a call to his manager and then said we treat for them but don't guarantee them and it is not immediate. He told me he would not get the service himself and he was ready to leave. We ended up getting the service, he was not here even 10 minutes. My son has this company and they were much more thorough with his service, even getting rid of spiders in his garage. This technician did not even ask to go I to our garage. My son's yard is more than 4x the size of our yard and his house is 3x the size of ours and he pays a bit less than we were quoted. We have had another company prior to this and will e d up going back to them. read more

We specifically wanted carpenter bees taken care of. Blondie showed me a picture and said "oh yes we do that" and then the tech that came didn't spray for them. We still have them. I called today to have them come and spray again and the lady told me they don't spray for those and she said I had a problem with wasps! I never told her wasps. And we were told this was a monthly service - ha! nope it's every 50 - 80 days. Blondie also said I could cancel in the winter months but no where in the contract does it say that. This is a total SCAM company. I'm contacting them and then telling them I am making a formal complaint to the BBB in MA. This was a terrible experience- I received service twice to control ticks and suddenly started to see carpenter and red ants. It was unbelievable- like it created an entirely new problem. I called to cancel service and noted that I was unhappy and relocating outside of the service area. I was told that my contract was canceled, they stopped coming to spray, and yet, they continued to bill me. I put a stop payment on with my bank and began to receive calls asking me to pay my outstanding bill. When I spoke to "a manager," I was told I could accept a discount on the service going forward or pay $200 (they have already billed $200 and have not provided service in two months.) Said "manager" would not let me speak to a supervisor and finally transferred me to a blank cell phone voicemail. If you want to be extorted for a service that you will not receive, this is your best bet. read more

Then 2 weeks later, I make another appointment and the exact same thing happened again despite speaking with a supervisor to coordinate the appointment. Lastly, they refused to let me cancel my subscription, despite their failures, they still wanted to charge me 200$ for ending my subscription, furthermore if I didn't call from a specific phone number they simply would not assist me whatsoever. Used this service after a persistent sales person came to our home. Gave them the chance on the claim That I'd get a 100 discount. After treatments this summer, the mosquitoes never went away. Watched over my yard cameras when the person came to do the treatments. Sprayed here and there but the yard was not sprayed. There were still spider webs which they were supposed to brush away around the house. Wasps nests that they showed be during the first walk through are there as well. Tried to schedule a "free" follow up treatment and there were never appointments available. So I would definitely not recommend it. read more

This company is the definition of fraud. they come to your door making all types of promises they don't intend to keep. this is my first time writing a bad review But they were charging me monthly for services they weren't even doing fully and blamed it on me not clicking for services inside and outside the home. When I was never told I needed to specify what I wanted done i was told they would do both automatically. I was then told I could write an email to cancel services and when I did it was ignored and I was still charged. I told them to come since I was charged and they refused to refund so then they came and only did the outside once again. or They lie and say the service was done when I was home all day and confirmed it was NOT DONE and no one came in. When I called a spoke with the reps they were rude and would not offer any type of help so I would ask to speak to a supervisor and was told "they will just tell you the same thing I just did" now I got a letter stating I needed to pay 199 or it will go in collections I had to call to see why and they said it was a cancellation fee when I asked the supervisor last month to ensure I wasn't going to be billed or charged anything else the supervisor told me "maybe he misunderstood you". I was never once told I was going to be charged a fee and I was also never told I would be signing into a 24mo plan. I would never do that. I will be reporting this company for fraud. read more

On July 9, 2025, I was approached on my property by an extremely aggressive salesperson without notice or permission to enter my property who represented Aptive Pest Control with headquarters in Utah. He was extremely pushy and would not leave my property until I agreed to purchase insect spray from his company. He started at $135 a month for the service and when I refused, he kept reducing the price until he got down to $50 a month. As I have seen ants and flies around my property, I agreed to pay $50 a month under the agreement that I could cancel at any time for any reason and he agreed verbally to my stipulation. He then proceeded to rapidly ask me to initial pages on an electronic form on his IPAD. I was not concerned, as I knew I could cancel at any time without penalty. After the first insect spray, we noticed that there were even more ants and flies outside our house and we were not happy with the service. On August 4th, I informed the company that we were cancelling. Then, on August 6th I received a pending charge on my credit card for $199 from Aptive and when I spoke to their representative I was told I only had three days to cancel per the contract and that the contract had language stating there would be a $199 cancel fee if I cancelled prior to the 18 month period in the paperwork. I relied on the salesperson's statement saying I could cancel at any time and therefore did not review the paperwork. I spoke to their representative asking for a $199 credit on my account and was told I would hear from a manager by Friday August 8th to discuss my concern. I am writing this complaint on Friday August 8th at 10:20pm, as I was not contacted by Aptive as they promised. This company is extremely unprofessional, dishonest, deceptive, shady, conniving and unethical to say the least. read more

I should have read the reviews prior to accepting their service. Buyer beware. Sales person approached us on a cold call. He was very nice and convincing relative to the great service they provided. We agreed to an 18 month service agreement. That same day a technician arrived and provided the initial insect/rodent protection. An appointment was scheduled for about a month later. The technician never showed up nor sent a message that he would need to reschedule. We called 3 days later and were told someone would be out soon. We felt they breached their contract by failing to show up as scheduled. We wanted to cancel the contract. Aptive was receptive to that as long as we paid the $200 cancelation fee. We presented our position that the contact was breached. They didn't care insisting we pay the cancelation fee. We paid the fee and felt compelled to post this to warn other potential customers of what to potentially expect We are going back to Terminix! read more

Do your homework on this company. Sales rep came to my door on Memorial Day, about 5pm. I told them I had just turned the grill on. Rep didn't listen, went straight into spiel. I've been considering a pest control company and thought it was convenient they were in the neighborhood. Rep told me they would had a technician out on Tuesday of this week. I confirmed, Tuesday meant tomorrow as it was a Monday the rep was talking to me. They said yes, Tuesday is tomorrow, so they will be here tomorrow. I listened to the rest of the spiel, and decided to give it a go. Agreed to 18 month contract. They made it clear I needed to be home for the initial visit. I said ok, I'll be home all day tomorrow. Tomorrow came, I logged into their portal and saw that they were scheduled to come on Wednesday. Big problem, I can't be home on Wednesday. I call to reschedule, get ahold of a live agent, Karina, they apologize and we agree on a new date and time, Friday between 8a-5p. I log into their portal on Friday, I see the technician is scheduled to come between 4p-6p. I'm leaving the house at 5pm for another obligation. I call customer service and let them know that I won't be home after 5pm, so they need to come earlier or reschedule. Also voiced my displeasure with how the logistics had gone so far. The rep, Angelo, apologized and offered a $30 credit to my account and said they would send a message to the technician regarding my schedule and the appointment window would be updated. Angelo, asks if all is well with what I requested, I said yes, and Angelo said they were going to send me a survey to see how my customer experience was with them and that they'd appreciate high remarks. Probably not the right thing for them to say. Moving on, by almost 2pm the window had not been updated. Now, I looked up Aptive customer reviews and holy heck, I'm not the first to suffer their logistical disfunction. I called customer service again and informed them that I'd like to cancel the agreement. Keenan the rep who answered tried to go into a spiel and I had to be firm and let them know there was nothing that could change my mind. Angelo cancelled the appointment and agreement. This company may do a good job at keeping pests away, I will never find out. They need to work on their logistics and ensure they are not lying to customers. read more

Don't get these people. They say "we will come back any time no extra charge" when they are trying to sign you up. When you setup an extra appointment the "cancel for unforeseen circumstances text comes" and they schedule you for 7-10 days later.
