Do not be con by the salesperson. They will tell you that you can cancel after 4 treatments and no charges will be applied. They also will not let you sign. They sign for you and initial all spaces on the contract. They only spend about 5 minutes at your home. Only changed out the mosquito trap once. They don't give you bug or fly traps they say they will provide. Always out of stock when they come to your house. Same spray for all bugs, mosquitoes, fire ants, and anything else. Aptive had reached out to me to let me know they were coming to do a service at my home a few weeks ago, and then 3 days later cancelled. When I asked when they were rescheduling - they indicated I had to call in or go to the portal and reschedule myself. I called in and suggested if they were not rescheduling the appointment Aptive cancelled - I needed to cancel the service. They agreed to cancel with no additional charges, since it was their issue to cancel the service they had scheduled. On Oct 5th I received a $199 charge. When I called in to find out what the charge was for - the consultant at Aptive indicated this was standard practice. So I guess this happens regularly and treating customers with zero respect - is what you can expect from your team. I will make sure my neighbors locally and any Facebook friends are aware of your non-professional attitude towards your customers. Terrible experience, they are total scammers. A very pushy (well trained) young man convinced me to sign up, took my credit card info. Later we had one service, and I got multiple phone calls and emails asking for my credit card information again. I ignored them thinking they were phishing because I had already given my card information. 2 months went by we still had mice and bugs and I continued to get emails and texts. Then I got a collections notice saying my account was in default. I sent a check for the amount listed and called to cancel the service. The person on the phone told me I owed over $800, because I had signed a one year contract. I told her again to cancel my account and hung up. Got a text this morning from a guy saying he is coming to service my house. I told him not to come. He told me to call the 800 number to cancel. Extremely push sales people that show up every quarter and don't respect the home owners

Aptive Environmental is a scam. To start, it's not like me to go online and write a review about anything unless I feel strongly about it. I certainly feel strongly about this company, and none of that feeling is positive. About two months ago in August 2024, this company had their salespeople riding around our neighborhood pestering people to buy their service. Unluckily for my family, one of them knocked on our door and we answered. For the record, the guy (I won't say his name here) was mostly kind and pleasant to chat with. He gave us the rundown and we politely declined. "How about a $20 discount?" We declined again and he left. 20 minutes later, he's back. "Okay guys, I called the boss and we can do a $40 discount!" Still a no from us, and away he went. Half an hour later, guess who? The same guy comes to our door AGAIN and says, "You gotta promise not to tell anyone, but we can get you a free cleaning. No strings attached. On us." We thought about it, and made sure to verify we could cancel immediately after with no penalty. "Yes of course! No fees or penalties." We were foolish enough to agree. He rushed us through a signature box or two and that was that. We received our free cleaning the following week. On that, I'm not exactly sure what if anything they actually did, the only real bug issue we had was spiders which persisted after that cleaning. Having busy schedules, we forgot to cancel then. They came out again in September & charged $89 this time. Following this, I was looking to cancel. I called our tech and he started giving me a whole run down about "pushing payments back" and "decreasing costs," no. I want to cancel. Nothing else. After pulling those teeth, he referred me to the Aptive hotline. Here's where I realized just how scummy this company is. I got ahold of a service agent and they informed me that, despite what the pushy salesman said, to cancel our account there is a "$199 cancellation fee." Are you kidding me? In this economy? You're charging people that you pestered and pushed relentlessly to sign up for your "services" $200 just to cancel and lose your information? That is a scam. Nothing else to call it. I played their game and wouldn't take no for an answer. I was not paying that bogus fee. Eventually, after many sighs and groans from their "agents," I got my account closed with no fees. TLDR; DO NOT HIRE APTIVE! Do not talk to them when they solicit you at your door relentlessly. Tell your neighbors not to trust or talk to them. They are out to lie, cheat and scam you shamelessly. $199 to cancel a service is unacceptable, and they will even LIE to you to get you to sign up. read more

BE WARNED: Charged for services never performed or hired for & Sent to Collections! Back in the spring, we requested a service quote from this company. However, we ultimately decided to go with a different provider and did not proceed with their services. Recently, we received a collection notice in the mail requesting payment of $383.39 for services that we did not hire for nor receive from this company. We have not received any invoice or notification that we were being charged monthly for unperformed services. They signed us up for a monthly service without our approval! I called the office, however the customer service representative claimed that his boss was not in the office and he had no contact information for his supervisor. We were approached by a salesman who came to our door pitching their product. He was excellent. However he quite literally did not tell the truth. When asked if his product could take care of slugs on my hostas. He said, Oh yes. We have a product that actually when sprayed on the leaves will not allow the slugs to stay on the leaf. I questioned him further. Are you kidding. He said no. That was the main reason for signing up. (I have not put quotation marks on the above bec I cannot remember the exact verbiage... but it is VERY close.) Our other major concern was rats. We have ivy and rats love it. We have wildlife in our patio and I didn't want rats, but did want squirrels and birds, deer, etc. This was in May, 2024. By August or September, we said we said we would not pay for the full maintenance which included service for rats, however when I asked the fella that came for the service about if rats were included he said he thought so, but better call and find out. At least he told the truth!!! We were reduced to $35/mo., only to find out we were paying for flies, ants, and wasps + other things that really did not need this type of attention. So October 11 or so I called, talked to a woman. I explained the situation and how the person who sold us... sold us misinformation, and untruths. She would not work with us at all as far as letting us out of the situation. I am therefore reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Extremely pushy aggressive annoying sales people. Keeps bringing up our neighbor as a part of their sales pitch who's terminated their contract because they saw no benefit. You need to read the fine print - which they are unwilling to walk you through and push you to just sign - because you might be now stuck with years of contract with fees for early termination. Do not hire this company. It's a lot of switch and bait with customers. Extremely poor customer service and lots of issues getting things resolved. They basically try to sell you a multi-year contract and then don't do a great job actually servicing what they signed you up for. I had to multiple times point out to my account rep (who changed every 1-2 months) what was included in my contract and then beg them to actually perform the service. Thankfully I made sure to ONLY sign up for a year. If you sign up, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE YEARS. When I cancelled my account they told me to just dispose of the traps left. I asked them to pick up their property and they seemed pretty unhappy about that. Overall, not a professional company. And I still have pests. They also broke multiple branches in a lilac tree when dealing with a hornets nest and then left all the broken pieces of the nest and the broken branches in my yard to deal with. I literally got a voicemail after the fact stating, "Don't go into your backyard. There are a bunch of angry hornets back there." They hire a lot of young and inexperienced kids who don't even know what they're spraying. They sprayed pesticide in edible plant beds that now I can't use, and they couldn't even tell me exactly what they sprayed. read more

They signed my husband up for their service without him realizing. When we called half an hour after the sales rep left to have them remove us from their system and schedule they seemed helpful and made sure they had no payment method for us and said we were deleted from the system. Their workers still showed up to do "scheduled" services 4 times. Each time we caught them as they parked and explained the situation and turned them away. Now we have received a bill in the mail from a collection agency for services that obviously were not wanted and never happened. We have all of these interactions on security footage so disputing it won't be an issue, however this is a lot of annoyance to have to go through just because your husband was nice to a salesperson and didn't immediately turn him away. read more

Terrible experience with this company. Salesman stated they could get rid of gypsy moths, however, we found out that they do not spray the eggs sacks in the trees. The service person scraped a egg sack onto the ground and got mad and left when I said he needed to spray the tree. Now I am being charged $199.00 to cancel the contract. After the initial treatment, they came back for the 30 day follow up or whatever, they then told me that the follow up was NOT included in the initial treatment, so I rescheduled. I never rescheduled it and when it came time to the next service, I requested to be put on a monthly plan, they told me that I would be charged the 1st of October. My service was today and they charged me the FULL amount. I called to see when I'd get the refund as I don't have the full amount in my bank. I said that if they take that money, I'm going to expect a reimbursement of the overdraft fees that my account will accrue to them taking the money that was not agreed upon. DO NOT HIRE APTIVE. An Aptive rep pounded on my door. Hard enough to make it sound like it was the police who needed to get in. When I opened the door this kid could not have been older than 20 years old. He told me about his service, and then stated that "John" next door on my left had just bought the service, and that Susan on my right did too. What he didn't know is that there is no John on my left and there is no Susan on my right. The house on the right had been abandoned for years. I called him out on this. He still pushed the sale as if he didn't even hear me. I told him no. Told him that I don't have money for him. He tried to give me a discount and then I told him I don't have money for that either. Dropped the price down further and I told him that unless he is going to do the service for free and charge me a monthly service that equated to exactly 0 dollars a month with a 0 dollar cancelation fee I would not be interested. He then told me a sob story about how he was forced to walk 30 miles by this company going door to door and if I didn't sign to at least get the service, he wouldn't get the scooter to ride and he would have to keep walking those miles. He even offered to pay for it himself if I would sign the contract and I can cancel within the first three days if I truly don't want to do it.
