This is one of the worst companies I've dealt with. My husband got scammed into buying their service. Okay so we tried them out. I agree with another customer, we had more bugs in our yard after they left. At one point they came out to service, we were home but I chose not to answer the door. I watched the guy go around our house with some sort of brush. At one point he walked onto our deck looked at the corner and walked right by it. Later after he left, I went over to that corner to find cobwebs. Needless to say they weren't doing their job. So then it led me to check other places only to find that we had a hornet nest above our door that he never even touched. When I called to make a complaint she said we'll come out as many times as needed. In my head I'm thinking why would you need to come out that many times if your product works. So I called to cancel our contract. They said they'd bill us only to find out they pulled $190 out of our account without permission. They told us it would be $180 and specifically asked if we would pay by check which I said yes. The extra $10 they chose to add in apparently to add as an unsolicited donation. Needless to say I'm pissed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

Aptive provides an excellent service for pest control. Our technician Arnelle J. was courteous, professional, efficient and knowledgeable. The service has been very effective in eliminating ants and other pests. read more

I have bought a 4 process program. This started in early August and I have had the second application just recently. I believe I have more pest now than when I started. I still have spiders etc. They claim it takes awhile. Well, I dont need to worry about spider and pest in the winter. This product has show no signs of working. When I asked to get out of the program they signed me up for, they said it would cost $150.00 to cancel. Their salesman that sold it to me claimed I would be rid of spiders and other pest in a matter of weeks, it been months. I would never suggest this company to anyone. The product does not work and they are very difficult to work with. Be aware!! read more

Eric Strother was very engaging, friendly, and thorough while conducting service.

We didn't even use them, but our initial contact with a salesperson was so off-putting that I thought people should know how disrespectful they were. I was in the middle of feeding my kids dinner and trying to get them to bed, and this guy showed up at our door (in spite of a very clear, prominent, an unequivocal NO SOLICITING sign) and tried to sell us on a "one time, all the neighbors are doing it" deal. I think there are more rats in their sales force than they'd fix in our house. I told him at least four times that we weren't interested, pointed out the "no soliciting" sign, picked up and held out the cat that takes care of most of our pests, and he still wouldn't take the hint. I even (low-key) threatened to call the Better Business Bureau on him before I eventually just closed the door on him and walked away. Extremely unprofessional, and I can't imagine they'd do good work given how pushy the sales staff is. Good work/word of mouth should speak for itself, not shady sales practices. read more

We just started using Aptive and so far they have been really good. We've had a lot of wasps/bees and spiders around our home. After the initial treatment we started seeing bees and wasps moving, ants growing wings, and increased sightings of spiders. As bad as it seems, we understand that these are great things. That means they attacked their comfort zones. I hope they keep that up. read more

I have never seen so many bugs in the years I have lived in my house. All of my bugs were mostly spiders everywhere. On day my sink window had a web comparable to Charolett's web. Yes to cancel them was more expensive than to pay for my last 2 treatments. They didn't answer or respond to any of my emails, I sent 4 emails about my disappointment in their product. Bugs were everywhere. I cannot say enough on how poorly this worked. I did call and they said they were going to come out and do another treatment on my first complaint but they didn't even show or call or email. I used bug be gone and 1 treatment and no more bugs around my house. This product simply attracted bugs due to the habiscus sweetness they use in their formula. Save your money and don't fall for their gimmick it simply does not work. Bad customer service, said yes we got your emails I don't know why they didn't respond. read more

It's a shell game and not worth it. Promises not delivered upon, and services (if performed) are ineffective. Didn't control any of the pests they were targeting: mice, bees/wasps, ants, spiders, boxelder bugs. Please tell me, what exactly do they do to treat for all these things in the winter outside of the house? Was told all visits would include indoor and garage treatments, when in reality only the first treatment included that. Had to call them back for one of the visits, which they did but only did part of the work again. Frustrated, but waited til next service - still only treated outdoor and added a bait box. Glue traps and snap traps were the most significant part of the indoor service (about $4 worth of stuff and the same thing I had been doing prior to this service contract) and the tech actually added peanut butter to the snap trap. Guess what happens when you apply food to a snap trap? Then we had ants inside in the basement when we never did before... Most recent service I called to reschedule since nobody was going to be home and we needed indoor service. Received a voicemail that they were coming anyway and I could call back to add an indoor service if I wanted. (Didn't I just do that?) When i got home, I couldn't find a single footprint in the snow. The outdoor bait boxes are still buried in snow, though apparently they claim they serviced for wasp nests and spider webs under the eaves??? (without footprints), and now that the rain has melted the snow and you can see the tunnels all over the yard where mice/voles have been tunneling. It's February, and we've now had our first ever boxelder bugs and asian beetles inside the house. Can they even live in the cold climate? Never seen them inside before. I chatted with their support yesterday online stating I wanted to cancel and received a voicemail today stating I was in a 1 year contract and only had 4 of the 5 services done so I'm still under agreement. read more

If I could give a minus one for dishonesty I would. A young man allegedly from Brigham Young knocked on our door with a sad story of how several of our neighbors were using their service and he happened to have an opening for one more client. He told me it would be free FOR THE FIRST YEAR and after that it would $95+ four times a year. Since the first year was free, I thought what the heck, ok. Apparently I signed a contract which indicated the very first treatment was free and that was NOT part of the four treatments. I know I should have read it carefully, but we were standing on my stoop, and he seemed so sincere. HOW FOOLISH OF ME. Today someone showed up during the rain to provide my "FIRST" service at $95 and there would be three more throughout the year. I had no need for this service and only agreed based on the first year being free. It was a pretty good scam. In any event, I am paying $229 to cancel it. The person in the office here refused to give me his last name. Am hopeful my cancelled check for the cancellation will be honored. This Brigham Young student played me very well. He's a horrible reflection on what his school stands for. read more

These guys are braindead. Our house has 3 decks on the back of it and they are all 2 stories off the ground. Wasps like to build nests in the gutters above the decks. So....we hired these people to spray the gutters for wasps. The first person who came out was great. He came in to the house and sprayed the gutters from the decks (not the yard below) like any normal human with even a little intelligence would. The second time they came out it was a different (and clearly a moron) person. I told him that we needed the gutters sprayed and that he should come do it from the elevated decks because that was the only way I could see them spraying into the gutters. He told me that he could handle it from the yard below and that he "had a special tool" for just that. Ok great, sounds good to me. He left to go do his thing. I proceed to watch him spray poison up from the yard below towards the gutters and covering the entire back of my house with poison including a bunch of large windows. Not only did he barely get any spray in the actual gutter since he was so far away, but he covered all my windows with bug poison spray. And then he just left...... Now I get that these are not PhD candidates, but seriously how dumb do you have to be to think that is going to work? Follow up....I called to complain about the service and make sure that they knew it is vitally important for them to spray the gutters from the deck, not the yard below. We had another service person come out to the house today and thankfully my wife was home because the only information the guy had about our entire situation was "wasp issue". LOL *It is worth noting that the guys who show up to do the work have been great, with the exception of the dumb one. It is clear that they are just not getting any direction from the home office which puts them in a tough position. read more

STAY AWAY! Aptive Environmental relies on predatory sales practices to enter you into a binding contract. They pitch services they never intend to perform and waste customers time offering absurd resolutions. For instance I have eaves above 20 feet from the ground, which is common for most homes. Aptive technicians do not have ladders so they do not treat those areas. A service manager with a ladder has to be scheduled to provide the eave spraying service. As a result of their predatory sales practices and lack of disclosure upfront they charge several hundreds of dollars to cancel the contract. Again, STAY AWAY! This should be brought to the attention of the state attorney general's office and stopped. read more

Do not use this company if you are trying to get rid of Japanese beetles. I gave them two stars because they did come out as scheduled. However, we noticed that the beetles were in our tree last Friday. We called for a reservice, and someone came out to spray Saturday while we were out of town. However, when we returned from our trip on Tuesday, there were hundreds of beetles munching our leaves. Another person came out Wednesday morning and within the hour beetles were still present on our tree. I was told that they can't spray above their heads and only sprayed the grass around the tree and trunk. That's not going to kill the beetles, and our tree will be bare if this service continues. We have cancelled our service. read more

I signed up for Aptive services in Spring of 2017. I normally decline ALL door-to-door sales pitches, but the sales guy made a fantastic pitch. I was told my entire yard would be treated for ticks/spiders/ants/you name it. What I actually received, was far from what the sales pitch was. I work out of my home, so I'm there to "supervise" any & all services. So in May, the service tech showed up for application #1. He was friendly, but immediately told me he "was new to this." I watched on skeptically, as the tech applied the spray & granular chemicals around the foundation only (something I have done for years on my own with good success). He did knock down a couple of wasps nests w/extension pole that where there from the previous year and mopped down spider webs. They also sprayed along eaves a bit, but only did it spot by spot. I immediately told my wife, I will give Aptive one more chance (June application) but after that, if not satisfied, I will cancel the services. Fast forward to yesterday, 6/14/2017, the Aptive tech showed up for application #2. Spider webs galore along front awning/door frame/garage doors. Visible spider "nests" were very noticeable. The tech DID NOT remove cobwebs, etc., like promised in the sales pitch. The tech only applied spray and chemical to the foundation area. Again, they did not apply anything to the yard like promised in the sales pitch. The straw that broke the proverbial "camel's back" was when the tech spotted a new wasps nest, but couldn't reach it with the extension pole he had with him. I live in a walkout, 2-story home. My entire neighborhood is comprised of similar houses. I don't expect the tech to get on a ladder (contract states that), but if a pest control company doesn't have a extension pole long enough to reach the peak on a 2 story home, why bother with their service then? So today, I cancelled my Aptive service. At all times, their customer service has been friendly and, for the most part, very good. The customer service rep tried to rectify the situation by sending out the branch manager, however, I had seen enough already. I politely declined and just said I wanted to cancel regardless. The rep told me that I will have to pay a $129 "early termination fee" which I was fine with. The sales rep DID advise in the Spring, that if I cancelled early, there was a charge. What I wasn't fine with was, I had to pay $127 for the poor and incomplete service charge from the yesterday's 6/14/17 application on top of the early termination fee. That's just not right. And because of that, I've posted this review here, and on our HOA's Facebook page. 110 residences will see that Facebook post. Aptive may as well not send out a sales guy here next Spring. Google Reviews and Facebook is next. On the surface, Aptive appears to be a company that has got things going in the right direction. I really wanted to like their company. Everything appeared to be "fresh & clean." I appreciated that all paperwork was done electronically. The salesman used a tablet to show services. They have a nice website. Service calls scheduled in advance and on time. Everything seemed great. The problem is, their service (most important part) came up short. Very short. Maybe it was just the service tech I had assigned to my residence? Again, a very nice guy. But it's not my job to point out cobwebs and wasps nests. It's not my job to watch to ensure everything is done right. That's what I'm supposedly paying Aptive to do. In the end, I can purchase same/similar products at Home Depot/Online and complete myself for a fraction of the cost. And I, who's not a pest control company, owns an extension pole long enough to reach the peak on a two story home. read more

This is a total rip off. Do not sign up! They lie about what you are going to be charged. They tell you your neighbors are all in. Lies Lies Lies. You can not get out of the contract without paying. I paid and now I am getting voice mails saying I owe more money. I just called and they are blaming it on a new system. My next stop after this is the BBB. DO NOT SIGN UP!!!! read more

DO NOT USE!!! Same thing happened to me as many of the others........they came unscheduled when I was not home and did the outside of the home (supposedly). I requested they come back to do the interior and they never did. The following month they called to say they were coming and then I waited all day and they didn't show up. Then I rescheduled and they didn't show up again. They wanted to reschedule AGAIN and I said no way. I want to cancel all my services. The customer service agent said that I would still be charged for the service because it had been scheduled even though THEY did not show up. Going to be making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I recommend everyone else does the same! read more

Save yourself $400 and go buy a $5 gallon of Spectracide bug stop at Menards. It is better than Aptive's product.

Very friendly out the door. Seem proactive but the results were nonexistent. He did come back out twice tried again. I canceled my service and now they're going to charge me a cancellation fee. I would avoid at all cost read more

I signed a contract to have them destroy a large paper wasp nest and continue to control other wasp nests and pests around the exterior of my house. Never saw anyone spray, only used brush to wipe around the exterior. Had several large wasp nests that needed to e destroyed by workers building a porch addition. I paid a fee to cancel my contract. Very disappointed and would never reccommend this company read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Signed up for Aptive services last summer in hopes of controlling spiders, wasps & ants in the summer and voles problem in the winter. Salesman Derek said that his service would cover all that plus other bugs. I signup with the hope of controlling the pest and not having to worry about the voles wrecking my lawn in the winter. The main thing that sold me on the services was they would come out and retreat if you had an issue. After my 1st treatment we notice we still had the spiders and called to ask for a retreatment. Customer service person stated that your next treatment is in a few weeks so they would not come out. After the snow melted I saw the damage to my lawn caused by the voles and was upset over how their service said it would help with the vole problem. Did not help worse damage to my yard before I started the service. Come to realize when I was at my neighbors house who has the service he said they put out 2 vole traps over the winter. After finding out this information Aptive never treated for voles. Called this spring to talk to customer service person to complain she said that they can come out a reservice for voles. I told her that is not the point the vole damage has already been done. I also explained that I had called a couple times over the summer about spider problems and nobody came out to reservice my home. She said she was sorry but they are new to the area and are working out the kinks. Ask to talk to a manager and was told nobody was there. Said she would have someone call me back. After 2 weeks and nobody calling back I called and talk to a manager. Told her the same information regarding not having vole service. I was told I did not let them know I had vole problems. I explained to the lady that I told the salesman all my problems when I set up the service so the saleman did not do his job and listen to the customer. Paying for a service I was promised but did not get. Tried to cancel my service due to this but was told I would pay a penalty for canceling early. read more

These people DO NOT quit! I have asked them to cancel my service, both by letter and phone call. They texted me on January 3, 2017 stating they would be coming out. I called and told them to cancel everything, I no longer want the service. I got a voicemail back stating "hi shelly, this Susie at Aptive. I understand that you want to cancel your appt but this is a really important quarterly treatment. Please give us a call as I have NOT cancelled this appt as of yet. Im not really sure why you want to cancel, but please give us a call." The technician was here doing the treatment within a half hour....So much for cancelling. If I call and say please CANCEL my service and contract, it means just that. Fast forward to March 17th, when I get a text message saying they will be out to do my quarterly treatment. I again call them back and state I have asked you to cancel my service both by letter and phone, DO NOT COME TO MY HOME! I was told I wold then have an outstanding bill of $130 (roughly) to cancel, to which I said fine. DO NOT come to my home. Low and behold, a technician shows up at my house on March 18th. My daughter snapped a picture of the truck and the tech in my yard and now they have the balls to send me a bill for for $265 AND charge me a finance charge? And why are they coming to my home twice in the same quarter if its a quarterly service? Why do they never leave a receipt? They made an absolute mess on my front porch by the door where my dog sits, as well as the deck on the back of the house. White powder that my dog sat in and had to have a bath after just spending $50+ to have her groomed. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

Giant waste of money. 1st time they came to my house the guy spent 10 min tops. Sprayed around the bottom of my house, sprayed my garden even though I asked specifically to stay away from my plants. Came out 2nd time...same thing. I cancelled because I saw no change in pests around my house (no cancellation charge). Another rep came out a month later, apologized said he would take care of it and offered a significant discount and I could still cancel if I wasn't satisfied w/o any fees.....they spent a little more time walking around pretending to sweep cobwebs even though I didn't have any. Again saw no difference in pests - still had Asian Beetles and Boxelder bugs all over. So...cancelled again and this time they charged an early cancellation fee - "I can only go off of the contract, no verbal agreements"....which...shame on me for not getting it in writing I guess. Point is - they will take your money. Just go to Home Depot get some Home Defense and you will have the same results..... read more
