Service was ok, however when it came time to cancel my service (after the 1 year contract) it has been a nightmare. I called one month prior to the year end and was told that I couldn't cancel until my contract obligation was complete. Scheduled my last service (which of course had to get rescheduled for some reason) and then the very next day after completed service I tried calling to cancel. Was on hold for 60 mins one time, tried again and currently am on hold again for 45 mins and counting. They don't make it easy to cancel. I am moving, which is why I need to end my service. Because of this, there is NO WAY I will be transferring service. read more

We have been with Aptive for six months now and are pleased with their service. For example, I called on a Sunday and left a message concerned that that the voles we had years ago may be back. Nick Hendrickson, the tech who came out, explained that the marks we were seeing were from ground wasps. He treated for those AND left vole traps just in case (probably to humor me). The ground wasps and the holes they leave in the grass are gone and the vole traps are empty. Nice work Nick. Thanks!! read more

Horrible company, when I asked Chad to spray inside, he told me he did not have the right material. I watched him, he did not check the mouse boxes outside. I was very disappointed so I called the office and talked to the Manager Aaron, he assured me the proper things were done. But I did not believe him, so I told him so, and he became aggressive and asked what I would like to be done. I would like the service I have paid for, he said he would send someone out. The time came and went, no one came, no service provided. Charged my card anyway. Bad experience, terrible service. read more

I tried to call and cancel the upcoming service and they tell me that I will have a cancellation fee or I have to call back after the next scheduled service and pay for that. Aptive has built a very nice pest control business that stands out from the old school, gruff crowd with iPads, uniformed techs, nice vehicles and a slick customer service approach. But the service uses cheap product, is over priced after initial 2 months and the customer service is not designed for you it is designed to collect $$. Most disappointing is my service was performed twice in a classic MN downpour. The product doesn't work when it rains that long - It washed away. Despite calls to the "customer service" line I was refused a refund. I cancelled. Now they are trying to charge me for the last two applications. Move ont to an Ortho or other long standing company. read more

They sprayed for wasps and my son was still stung in 3 places at once because there was a noticeable hive they ignored. Last time they were at my house they didn't even bother to knock on my door to discuss any potential issues I had (lights were on and we were obviously home). No Email or phone call prior so I didn't even know they were coming! 6 weeks later I have mice in my basement. Talk to them 1st thing Monday morning they can't come out till Friday. The few times that I have called to talk to a representative they are not knowledgeable and give me the run around on details. Inconsistent pricing. It is currently -7 degrees outside and they are coming out to treat my cracks for Bugs, remove spider webs and Inspect for overhanging wasp nest. What a joke! Russell called me and gave me a heads up regarding how long it would be before he arrived for his appointment. Once he arrived since it was out initial appointment he and over all the paperwork and answered all of my questions thoroughly. He sprayed the inside of the house, did the exterior service and set up the bait boxes based on his professional opinion of where they were needed. After he was done, we chatted about what he had done and allowed me to ask any questions. Felt very informed throughout the process. Russell was very friendly and represented Aptive very well. Signed on for annual service and hope that everyone that we encounter throughout the year is a pleasant and professional as Russell. read more

Was about to cancel this service but I had Steve Hubbard as my service tech today and he did an outstanding job. He described what service he would be performing and I watched him clean all the spider webs and dust off the eaves of the entire house! He did a great job. Scam company. Payed initial fee for treatment. Waited for second treatment that was to be performed "within 30 days", per contract. When trying to cancel 45 days later, was told they would send to collections for not paying second installment! My neighbor has had similar and worse contact with them. Avoid at all costs. I'm not a customer of Aptive but even if I were to consider it, I had a terrible first impression and I have no desire to pursue the services. A rep came to my door to do a sales pitch. I've been in sales, I know how vulnerable it can make you feel so I treat other reps with respect by actually listening. As a rep, I've found you should NEVER pester until a customer comes to a "yes." It's inauthentic and unprofessional. When I told him that I appreciated his information and would think about it. He pried more. Again, I said no I like to do research before committing to a service, he scoffed and walked away. There should be more coaching for these sales reps, I was inappropriately inconvenienced at my home and your business lost all the potential customers it could have had because I'll share it with friends and family. read more

An Aptive employee was walking the neighbor and knocked on our door. We were currently trying to fix an ant control issue and the spiders were making their home around the front entrance to the house. We signed up for what sounded like a good deal for continuing pest control. First application worked great, subsequent applications didn't keep them away. We asked for follow up visits days apart which didn't deter the spider webs or ants from entering the house. We asked to get the first technician out to perform the service and the company said he was only used for initial services only. Now I have cancelled the program w/$250 charge which is cheaper then paying their quarterly fees through March. Stay away!!! read more

The complimentary introductory "service" by Aptive Environmental was done yesterday (Tuesday June 27, 2017) today as described in the Service Agreement presented and described Monday June 26, 2017 by the Aptive Environmental sales representative Ryan Plante. While the guy (technician?) was here for the "service", I was working east (and close) to my house. So I was home and had ample opportunity to observe the technician while he was present. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 the worst and 10 the best), my opinion of the "service" yesterday is a 3! My opinion of the "service" is a 3 only because the guy showed up and was friendly. The technician was here only for a total time of 30 minutes or less to do what was described by the sales representative as a $229 gratis complete introductory (initial) service. A large portion of the total time the technician was here was for preparing something by his pickup truck and was not devoted to treatment activities! Plante made a "big deal" of emphasizing my landscaping and that the entire perimeter of the property, including the landscaping, would be treated. I NOT observe the technician to go anywhere near the perimeter of my property. My landscaping includes decorative rock around the front lawn. Plante emphasized that the rock would be treated. I did NOT observe the technician go anywhere near the decorative rock nor did I observe him treating other areas of rocks, etc. In fact, I did NOT observe the technician north of the house (and I was working east of the house). Nor did I observe the technician treat the garage and I was working right in front of the garage. The Service Agreement specifically reads as special instructions "Treat the corners of the garage....."! The flower bed where I was deadheading a rose bush received 2 "shots" of granules from something the technician had and only about 1/3 of the flower bed received granules (treatment?). I wonder about other flower beds!! Voles? Plante stressed that neighbors were worried about voles. Plante expressed his confidence that attention would be given to voles and their irradiation and prevention. I did NOT observe the technician inspecting for any sign of voles (or any other pest) nor did he ask me anything concerning voles (nor any other pests). In fact, Plante put emphasis on how Aptive Environmental would provide "protect" for many pests, from ants to voles. I observed the technician spraying something on the portions of the front of my two storage sheds. He ignored the other areas of the sheds (e.g.,back, sides and around the shed-ground interface). Storage sheds are well known as sources of insects, mice and other pests. After the technician had gone, I observed cobwebs (i.e., spider webs) in many places around the house (I have pictures). Plante emphasized that special attention would be given to the removal of cobwebs and treatment the areas of cobwebs. Obviously, there was NOT special attention given to the removal of cobwebs!! Treatment of cobweb areas?? The Service Agreement clearly reads as special instructions "Treat perimeters of gardens, and add repellents in entrance and patio area eaves". I observed that the technician did NOT use a ladder or any other device to reach the eaves. As the technician was preparing to leave, I had to remind him about my barn even though the Service Agreement specifically and clearly reads as special instructions "Treat the barn in the back"! What was the communication between Plante and the technician? Did the technician receive any kind of information (e.g., Service Agreement) about my property before his appointment? The green colored card presented to me by the technician contained no indication of performed treatments although the card includes ample opportunity to do this. In other words, the card did not indicate that any service was performed (which pretty much describes the visit). I could go on, but you should get the message that I am very unhappy with Aptive Environmental and certainly would NOT recommend Aptive Environmental to anybody! In fact, if asked about Aptive Environmental, I will express my opinion of Aptive Environmental. I am fortunate that I did not need to pay $229 for this "service". I think I just may send this to the Better Business Bureau and the Denver Consumer Protection Agency! read more

They refused to stop the service and are now charging a $160 cancellation fee and threatening to ruin our credit if we don't pay it or allow them to continue the final service, that we do not want. Salesman came to our door offering services. We kept saying "no," and he kept lowering the price. We thought we would give it a try. Initial treatment did nothing. They said it could take a second treatment. They sent what appeared to be a teenager over who didn't know what he was doing. Still nothing. They missed two wasps nests which I ended up removing myself. Called to cancel...$210 cancellation fee even though their products don't work. Requested to speak with manager who never called back. Now we have boxelder bugs everywhere! Ants in our pantry. I've killed tons of spiders in the house. I guess the only positive here being a new home owner, is now I know to shut the door in the salesman's face when they come knocking. $300 is a cheap price for that lesson. read more

The Route Mgr., Brantley, for aptive came through my neighborhood yesterday to discuss their pest-treatment program with me and my neighbors. I was already using another company for these services with ok results but I wanted to hear what aptive had to offer. The program Brantley offered had more services and cost less than my current program. I only had to commit to the initial plus 4 quarterly applications. They guarantee all the work and if you see any issues they will come out anytime to re-treat at NO COST. Seemed like a no-brainier to me! So I scheduled the work and they sent out Steve Hubbard the next morning. He was prompt, friendly and explained everything he was going to perform. When he was finished he spoke with me at length explaining again how I may ensure my satisfaction by contacting them anytime to re-treat areas. He was very helpful and made me feel very pleased and comfortable with my decision to use aptive. I did learn this was his last day as a Service Pro and he was being promoted to the office. Congrats to you, Steve! Please send me a tech as professional as you! They also offer a $30 referral for you and and any neighbor you have sign up with them. adptive doesn't do what they promise. Canvassing the neighborhood sales guy stopped to tell uus about this service -- mentioning they could take care of the wasp nests he noticed. And yes, they also could manage the box elder bugs and japanese beetles that plague our yard. Without reading a review, we signed up for an annual contract. ($106/qtr). Now japanese beetles are out in full force and a call to their office for second re-treatment, I am told their service only manages crawling things -- clearly wasps don't crawl. Even though they did visit our home a second time for said japanese beetles on July 5, they would not be coming out again, AND there was no manager available for me to plead my case to. As of my experience today, I would not recommend using this service. read more

I had Aptive come by last summer selling their services door to door... should have been my first clue. As we had just started having spider and some ant issues, I signed up. The first couple visits were pretty good but over the winter they have shown up to walk around my house and brush any spider webs down. Please note that we do not get many in MN in January and February. They came by yesterday and rang the bell but I did not answer the door as I was in my office on the phone. after 4 to 5 minutes I looked outside and noticed the guy was sitting in his truck. He left after another 5 minutes and I got a bill for $127. I called to ask what this was for and was told they wipe the spider webs down (again MN in January) and look for mice tracks but do NOT spray anything for bugs. After hearing this, I asked if I could cancel the service but found out it will cost me $170 to cancel or wait and have one more service where they do nothing and pay $127. I would strongly recommend looking for a different service!! read more

This is one of the worst companies I've dealt with. My husband got scammed into buying their service. Okay so we tried them out. I agree with another customer, we had more bugs in our yard after they left. At one point they came out to service, we were home but I chose not to answer the door. I watched the guy go around our house with some sort of brush. At one point he walked onto our deck looked at the corner and walked right by it. Later after he left, I went over to that corner to find cobwebs. Needless to say they weren't doing their job. So then it led me to check other places only to find that we had a hornet nest above our door that he never even touched. When I called to make a complaint she said we'll come out as many times as needed. In my head I'm thinking why would you need to come out that many times if your product works. So I called to cancel our contract. They said they'd bill us only to find out they pulled $190 out of our account without permission. They told us it would be $180 and specifically asked if we would pay by check which I said yes. The extra $10 they chose to add in apparently to add as an unsolicited donation. Needless to say I'm pissed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

I have bought a 4 process program. This started in early August and I have had the second application just recently. I believe I have more pest now than when I started. I still have spiders etc. They claim it takes awhile. Well, I dont need to worry about spider and pest in the winter. This product has show no signs of working. When I asked to get out of the program they signed me up for, they said it would cost $150.00 to cancel. Their salesman that sold it to me claimed I would be rid of spiders and other pest in a matter of weeks, it been months. I would never suggest this company to anyone. The product does not work and they are very difficult to work with. Be aware!! read more

We just started using Aptive and so far they have been really good. We've had a lot of wasps/bees and spiders around our home. After the initial treatment we started seeing bees and wasps moving, ants growing wings, and increased sightings of spiders. As bad as it seems, we understand that these are great things. We didn't even use them, but our initial contact with a salesperson was so off-putting that I thought people should know how disrespectful they were. I was in the middle of feeding my kids dinner and trying to get them to bed, and this guy showed up at our door (in spite of a very clear, prominent, an unequivocal NO SOLICITING sign) and tried to sell us on a "one time, all the neighbors are doing it" deal. I think there are more rats in their sales force than they'd fix in our house. I told him at least four times that we weren't interested, pointed out the "no soliciting" sign, picked up and held out the cat that takes care of most of our pests, and he still wouldn't take the hint. I even (low-key) threatened to call the Better Business Bureau on him before I eventually just closed the door on him and walked away. Extremely unprofessional, and I can't imagine they'd do good work given how pushy the sales staff is. Good work/word of mouth should speak for itself, not shady sales practices. read more

I have never seen so many bugs in the years I have lived in my house. All of my bugs were mostly spiders everywhere. On day my sink window had a web comparable to Charolett's web. Yes to cancel them was more expensive than to pay for my last 2 treatments. They didn't answer or respond to any of my emails, I sent 4 emails about my disappointment in their product. Bugs were everywhere. I cannot say enough on how poorly this worked. I did call and they said they were going to come out and do another treatment on my first complaint but they didn't even show or call or email. I used bug be gone and 1 treatment and no more bugs around my house. This product simply attracted bugs due to the habiscus sweetness they use in their formula. Save your money and don't fall for their gimmick it simply does not work. Bad customer service, said yes we got your emails I don't know why they didn't respond. read more
