I had them come out and service my arborvitae's for wasps/hornets and to spray the entire exterior of my house. The service price was a bit higher than I expected but my kids and pets were being swarmed so I needed something ASAP. At that point money is of no value when it's family. I signed up for 1 year. They came the 1st and sprayed around my house everything was great that day. Over 2 months have gone by and nobody has come to spray again. They charged my card again 20 bucks more than the fist time. So I called and asked why nobody came back out. I was told on the phone that I have to call them to have them come back out. I didn't have to call them to charge me though! They told me the monthly charge is a subscription not for them to spray each month. WHAT is that? A sneaky scam. I told them I wanted to cancel he told me it would be 4 hundred and some dollars. The card I used with them is no longer valid so they won't get any more money out of me. Scammers. read more

I called once to see what services they offered when I found a mouse in my house. They wanted me to sign up for an expensive monthly plan of setting out bait traps, but the quote did not include any exclusion work to figure out how the mice were getting into my house in the first place. Since this would not actually solve my issue and would amount to me paying Aptive money for perpetuating the problem, I never followed up on the quote. Then four months later, out of nowhere, I start getting notices that I have an appointment scheduled with them - an appointment I absolutely never scheduled. Very sketchy. So I called and I said (1) I would like the appointment canceled and (2) I would like my account closed and my information removed from their system. The guy canceled my appointment and said I needed to speak to a supervisor about the rest. I wait like 10 minutes and get connected to the supervisor. I explain the situation and he actually says to me, "What did we do to you? Why are you being so aggressive?" Keep in mind, I never raised my voice. I simply stated I wanted my account closed. I'm a woman, so maybe he felt like he could talk down to me. Then, here's the kicker, he says "You signed a contract with us." I tell him I absolutely never signed a contract, I got a quote once, and if he wants to claim I signed a contract, then I can start getting lawyers involved. Then he quickly backtracks and says I was registered to receive "complimentary service" rather than paid service. I tell him I didn't want any service, I never signed up for anything and I want my account closed. He says I'm all set, but as far as I can tell never removed my personal information as I requested. I assume this is illegal and I have the right to remove my account, so I'll be looking into it. Avoid Aptive at all costs. The places that would do exclusion work to address the core issue are Ehrlich and Critter Control. But I did my own exclusion work and haven't seen a mouse since. read more

Not only are they poisoning our environment with chemicals that are proven to cause cancer, endocrine disorders, neurological disorders, in humans and pets - their sales tactics are nothing short of harassment. They come around our neighborhood multiple times a year on segways, cornering homeowners and lying about the safety of the chemicals being sprayed. Last time they stopped at my house they would not accept no for an answer and the police ended up being called. read more

Initial month not included in the annual charge and monthly billing scheduled prior to end of contract so get charged additional billing cycle. My family was just made aware that this company has been taking advantage of our 90 year old grandmother. The poor lady is being charged $108 every month for a pest control service she doesn't need and never really agreed to in the first place. Apparently a technician even created an email address for her.... how's that supposed to work when this woman doesn't even have wifi‍‍ We only found out because your schmuck technician came by luckily while family members were there. He would not give up, even when I told him we just had a treatment a week ago. if I see him again I will be calling the police and posting a photo of him on my local community page to warn others. read more
