Great service got rid of the bugs wasp and rodents in my property, definitely recommend

Extremely disappointed in this company. It started off well enough, as I used them for bugs for a couple of years. But when I went to cancel my service, it was far more difficult than necessary. I called in November of 2025 to cancel, and I had thought it would be very straight forward. Everything seemed to be settled. It is now almost February 2026, and I just received a text saying that someone from Aptive would be at my house in several days for my regularly scheduled appointment. I then had to call them back, speak to someone COMPLETELY intelligible, and spend 10 minutes frustratingly arguing with some foreign guy about why I am cancelling. If this is not cancelled and I receive a bill for any further service, I will begin a fraud investigation. read more

We had a very disappointing experience with Aptive Cost Control. After we moved, they continued charging us for an entire year despite no longer providing service. These people are a total scam. Their sales people are pushy and will stretch the truth to try and make a sale. The guy I talked to seemed nice enough, made it seem like a locally owned company, and all that. Nope, it's just some big wallet gobbling cooperation that uses shady people to push you into bad contracts. My bad for falling for this tripe. On top of that, they'll charge you a 200 dollar cancelation fee. For what? You barely did anything. The high cancelation fee is there to help them bully people into staying with the contract, or as a last attempt a cash grab as the person wises up and realizes what a scam these people are. Just look at the overall reviews of this place. They aren't great. The issues with their pushy sales people is very common too. I used them for 3 months and had to call them back each time to redo the service and still no success. ***Then I cancelled my account on the last service with service rep and they billed me for an extra month of $60.00. I called about the bill and was told it wasn't cancelled and spoke with JOSH who should not be in customer service. I was informed they could not correct their error because the account still showed as open. I had proof that I made the call on the day of the last service to cancel he said it wasn't noted in my account and I had the last payment on my account showing in my bank account. When I told him I wasn't interested, he implied he'd tampered with something on my property and wouldn't tell me what he'd done because I wouldn't hear his sales pitch. They prey on the elderly. My parents signed up, but didn't understand what they were signing up for. They thought Aptive would just help with their rat problem and then it would be done. Instead they signed them up for a continuing contract. And for what? My parents aren't able to use stairs anymore so never go in their basement. Aptive put down some glue traps down there (glue traps really? What would happen if they caught a rat?). They also never came back. Over several months, when we visited we'd take pictures of the same traps in the same positions and the same uncleaned up rat feces. When I took over my parental finances recently and realized they were charging them $80 a month, I called to cancel the service. They told me it would cost $150 to do that. read more

They lied multiple times when we still wanted their service about filling the bate boxes, they straight lied to my husband and said they did and he would get home and check and ding ding ding. I didn't mind at first giving a chance to this pest control you guys do and i never had issues with pests before but just flies in my front porch. they did the 2nd visit a month ago yet nothing has gotten better but instead, i got spiders and ants now and still no flies being gone infront of my house. i don't want you to continue this service nor see any of you. They use young girls from Utah to sell door to door and do the first visits, then it's different personnel after all the time, they will say it's their uncle's business or what not. Avoid Aptive Environmental at All Costs - They're All About Money, Not Service Earlier this year, Aptive Environmental came door-to-door aggressively pushing their pest control services. My partner and I had 9 months left on our lease, but they insisted on locking us into an 18-month contract. The salesperson assured us that if we moved, we could transfer the service, or if not, there would be no cancellation fee--just a $199 fee if we couldn't use their services. Fast forward six months: my partner and I broke up, and I moved to a brand-new downtown Vancouver apartment building that already has its own pest control service. I called Aptive to explain the situation and cancel. What did their so-called "customer service" do? Refuse to help. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who also refused to help and instead instructed me to email them with my lease's first page as proof of the move. I did exactly that, and within minutes, they emailed back saying my contract was canceled but they were charging me $199 anyway. I explained again that I cannot use their services, but they stood firm, unwilling to provide any actual support. This is the final straw for me. If the $199 fee hadn't been a barrier, I would've canceled months ago. Why? Because their service is ineffective. We had an ant problem at our house, and despite multiple treatments, the problem persisted. They always promised "more treatments," but nothing ever worked. It felt like a never-ending cycle of empty promises and wasted money. Aptive Environmental is quick to take your money but completely unresponsive when it comes to customer support. I pay good money for this service, and have yet to be satisfied with their periodic spraying. They do not bother with appointments, or even letting you know if they'll show up in the AM or PM, so you're expected to stay home. They will spray if you aren't home, but without access to the whole house (front and back), you won't get full coverage. This has happened to me three times out of the four visits, and I have made complaints to them each time, with no change. All you get is a reminder that they'll show up on a given day, then text you a message that they've completed the work, showing you photos of the places they sprayed (you have to pretty much take their word for it). Without access to my backyard, they miss 3/4s of my house. Totally unacceptable. read more

OK, I know they came door-to-door and I let myself be 'hooked in' so I guess I deserve this expensive lesson... They talked to me so nicely and claimed to be invironmentally sound, which I guess they were. But they didn't tell me how ineffective they were and how I would have to pay big-time to get out from under the contract. It cost me $200 dollars to get rid of them! They never did eliminate the ants that were trailing into my house, even though I showed them the ant trail. They just dropped some tiny pellets, which the ants just walked around, and never did stop their ant business. Aptive's buisness model stinks! I would give them minus stars if I could! We've been happy Aptive customers for over 6 years. They've helped us get rid of wasps, ants, and even a bumble bee nest. No bumble bees were intentionally hurt, we just had to keep them from nesting under our porch and the only way to do that was to block the entrance they'd dug out. We are on a regular schedule and a technician will text us when they are about 30 minutes from arriving. Always polite and professional, they ask if there's anything they should concentrate on during the visit. They really listen to what we need. We moved from California to the area not too long ago and had ants, mosquitos, stink bugs, you name it. Had one of these door to door guys come and they were very nice, persistent as they should be, but explained everything in detail and walked me through the service. Even came into my backyard and did a free inspection and met my dogs. Loved that they are pet and kid friendly as we have fur babies that our very important to us. After a few treatments the bug frequency decreased a lot and I assume with time we'll start seeing them less and less. Awesome that they come back for free in between treatments when we need it. From someone who has tried every service and those in other states, 10/10 read more

No soliciting means you. Salesperson came to my door twice in one day several hours apart, and acknowledged that he saw and ignored my no soliciting sign. I do not give money or business to people who come to my door- hence the sign! Would never do business with a company that clearly can't train their people correctly. There door to door sales is very aggressive. They keep coming back and then they tell you if you will let us show you just one time we are better than your current service you can cancel if you don't agree. Then when you cancel in this case after paying them for multiple ineffective services they evidently charge you 199. They say its in the agreement ive never seen. I asked for a copy of this to be emailed to me. Nothing. They said nothing when i canceled about being charged any fee, they waited until afterwards. No bills sent to me simply a notice they are sending me to collections. I would never recommend them. read more

Then a few days ago, a guy approached me while I am working on something in my driveway and I told him I wasn't interested. He persisted on talking to me to the point of me yelling at him to go away. It was absurd that he continued to pester me after I told him not to. If these people ever approach me again, I will slam the door. Aptive started ringing my doorbell repeatedly at 8:15pm, and when I didn't answer, started loudly knocking. I ran to answer, assuming there was some kind of emergency happening with a neighbor because I couldn't imagine any other reason this would be appropriate behavior. Said trucks would be on my street treating pests the next day (none were) and several of my neighbors had already agreed to have their houses treated for ants and pests (again, none had). Kept harrassing me with questions about pest control. I finally had to order him and his Segway to leave my property. Worst salesperson I've ever encountered. Snotty and disrepectful. If Aptive's service is anywhere near as unprofessional as its sales rep, avoid avoid avoid. Highly aggressive door-to-door sales guys. They do not read or heed no trespassing or soliciting signs. They come roaring on your property full blast on segways and touching your cars. One guy had his hands on my Maserati. Another time they looked in my windows when I was working from home and tried to talk to me and would not go away. One guy opened my storm door and tried to come in without ringing or knocking, but I had my security door locked. They are dodgy, scoping out your property and cars. I will have them arrested for trespass if they come on my property one more time despite telling them every time to leave. I will NEVER do business with them due to how they carry on. The sales person was very slick. Told me that I was signing for a year and the service would be every other month during the summer and every 3 months during the fall, winter and spring. They continue to schedule me every month and come out if I don't call to cancel and reschedule. They assure me that they are changing and my next will be with the proper interval. After a year and a half they have not changed and try to come out every month. I just tried to call and cancel the service but was told that I had signed a 2 year contract and could not cancel until after the full 24 months. Ineffective service. Not only do they only show up every other month but the visits were always under 10 minutes. I was surprised for the first couple of weeks that there were no bugs or insects coming in the house and thought they were doing an awesome job. That didn't last long. I noticed about two months after the initial visit that there was a handful of spiders and ants in corners of the house. The service staff said it was normal for them to come out after the first or second visit so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong for doing that, there are still spiders. Not only does the service suck, but when I initially signed up the salesman told me that if I ever wanted to cancel I would just need to pay 50 dollars because that's what the cost is for the "sign up fee". That was a big old pile of dog poop. These people charged me 199 dollars just to cancel their ineffective sucky service. Buyer beware. We had a door-to-door salesman sell us on Aptive pest treatment. I decided to give the company a try and support the salesman's commission. We had been using another pest service, but I appreciate the hustle of door-to-door sales. I had many questions about cancelation, given the 24-month contract. The salesman called his boss three times and assured me that if we moved or needed to cancel, the $199 discount for the 24-month contract would not be charged. I should have gotten this in writing. I signed the contract, and we had our first spray. However, we still had lots of ants and bugs around the property. Our previous company treated the house once a year, and we never saw pests, so this was surprising. I decided to wait for the second treatment. During the second treatment, I pointed out the problem areas, and they assured me they would give extra attention to those spots. Now, two weeks past the last appointment, we have more ants and bugs than ever. Whatever spray they use does not work. As I mentioned, our previous company treated the house once a year with no problems. When I emailed to cancel because their treatment isn't working, they charged me the $199 fee. Their customer service is non-existent, and all you get are automated email responses. Their product does not work, and locking people into a 24-month contract with a cancellation fee should have been a huge red flag. If your product works, you don't need a cancellation fee. I would 100% avoid this company. We never had a bad ant problem until we hired Aptive. Beware of this company. read more
