Meat lovers omelet
Brandi K.

This restaurant is very close to my house so my husband and I popped in one morning before heading out for errands. There is plenty of parking in a large open parking lot. The restaurant doesn't look very big, but it definitely handles a lot of people. It was busy when we walked in but we were seated immediately (you seat yourself at any clean table and a server brings menus right away). We ordered coffees and waters then perused the menu, which is full of wonderful sounding options. I landed on the hash benedict and he got an omelet. We also ordered a blueberry pancake to share. My eggs were *perfectly* poached and the hollandaise was incredible. His omelet was full of meat. The home fries crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The pancake was MASSIVE and full of berries. Service was immaculate. 100/10 will return

Clean, friendly, fresh. What's not to like? Even the coffee's good. My egg sandwich was delicious and my son found his breakfast burrito to be "good." Appreciate the refill on the coffee, too.

April's II on highland ave was packed on a thursday at noon, but we were seated right away. i ordered the stuffed french toast which came with cream cheese and strawberry jelly stuffed between two french toast slices, slathered with strawberry sauce and strawberries + whipped cream. it was a delicious treat from my regular breakfast order. my friend who recommended April's got the dominican breakfast which was perfect in every way. service was excellent and we did not experience a long wait nor a rush. strawberry stuffed french toast 5/5 dominican breakfast 5/5 reliable, delicious, homey breakfast with extra sweetness. ambiance: 3.5/5 food: 5/5 service: 5/5 aprils ii: 4.5/5

Roast pork with mashed and sautéed vegetables
Marni M.

My mom and I made plans to meet here on a Thursday morning. She was able to grab a seat for us as I was just parking in their private garage. There are boots and regular low top tables available to sit at with a fair amount of space in between. To be honest, it was hard to decide as there were 5 jam packed pages to look through that are offered all day. Such options include omelette, sandwiches, flat breads, pasta, Dominican dishes, soups, salads, and more, oh my! For a started, we shared a corn chowder which was a bit more soupy and under salted from what I've had before. Even so, it was warm and scratched my craving. Nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. My mom got their roast pork with a side of mashed and sautéed vegetables. I got the seafood mofongo as I saw a picture on Yelp that I just couldn't shake. The pork was tender and soft with the whipped mashed potatoes. The vegetables were more green bell pepper compared to the zucchini and other bell pepper colors for those who are curious. I was in LOVE with my dish as it tasted even better than it looked. I've have monfongo made by my ex's mom but this topped it ten-fold. Overall, I had a wonderful time with my mother. The dishes took a while to come out but that's understandable as the selection they over is massive! Also, the portions are very generous with lower cost. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. So much so, that I just had to get an order of peaches and cream waffles to go which were unsurprisingly delicious as well. I can't recommend supporting this local business enough. Prices were more than fair served by kind faces.

Corn beef hash,

A couple Sundays ago I went to this place as I do every Sunday and I ordered my usual, which is corn beef two eggs over easy. While I was enjoying my breakfast, I almost choked off a piece of a long hair from the corn beef. I told the daughter of the owner what I have found and I gave her that long piece of hair and I told her this could not be mine because I'm bald, And she said OK I'm sorry and I will give you 20% discount on your bill. I think this is handled poor poorly. What do you think ? please comment.

Food: 50/50 Service: 25/25 Ambience: 25/25 *** poppppin music Total: 100 If you're looking for a bite outside of busy downtown Salem, look no further. April's II is delicious and affordable! They offer a nice mix of American diner food with some Caribbean Boriqua classics. I HADDDD to order the mofongo, and I was very happy I did. The shrimp was fresh and the sauce was flavorful. I loved reading the story on the wall about April. I love supporting these mom and pop businesses - you know you're spending money on quality food and helping folks put food on their tables, and provide jobs to locals. (: will be back next time I am in Salem!

Sausage eggs benedict. Hands down the best benedict I've ever had.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing service, wonderfully friendly people (owners, staff and regulars [shout out to Roger!]) and the food... OMG, the food. This was hands down the BEST eggs benedict I've ever eaten (and I order it everywhere I go). The restaurant was hopping at noon on a Sunday during Labor Day Weekend, but we easily found an open spot at the counter and were taken care of right away. Even though it was packed (for good reason) it felt un-hectic and spacious. This place rocks -- it really has it all going on!

I live in the area and had been meaning to try this place since I heard it was under new ownership…read more I recently ordered the Mofongo with chicharrón, and it was fantastic. You can really tell they take their time and care with the food--everything was cooked properly, and I especially appreciated that the pork belly chunks were completely cleaned and shaved. That's usually a major turnoff for me elsewhere, so it definitely earned extra points here. The only thing that could be seen as a downside is the price. The Mofongo was $30, which is on the higher side. That said, the portion size, sides, and overall quality absolutely justified the price in my opinion. I'm happy to go back and try more dishes. Best of luck to the new owners, my family and I enjoyed your food very much!

I stopped by Punta Cana Dominican Grill curious to try something new. I asked to switch out my…read morewhite rice for yellow, which they did -- and while I was disappointed they forgot my beans, I still gave it a fair try. The yellow rice was fluffy and filling, and the yuca fries were actually a standout -- golden, crispy, and really satisfying. The salad, however, came with no dressing, and the chicken definitely didn't match the saucy, glistening version I saw in their online photos. Mine was a bit drier and missing that visual punch. All in all, it wasn't bad! I wouldn't tell anyone to skip it -- it's worth a taste if you're nearby and in the mood for Dominican food. I have a feeling there are other items on the menu I might enjoy more, so I'd give it another shot with different picks next time.
