So glad we found this company! Amazing experience working with Applegate Appliance! We hired him to repair a leaky LG front loading washer. Sean is super knowledgeable and helpful - he wants to figure out the problem and ensure his clients walk away with a successful repair. We finally diagnosed it as a drain pump issue and Sean did a fantastic job swapping it out and even addressing some other maintenance issues when he opened up the washer. If you're an lg appliance owner, make sure you ask the service rep for a list of alternate repair companies. Their default one has pretty bad reviews, but luckily I asked the rep if they had any other providers and Applegate Appliance was on the list of licensed and certified contractors. So glad we went with Applegate and will gladly reach out to them again for any future repair needs. read more

Sean was amazing when he repaired our AGA stove and the door to our dishwasher a year ago. Recently I called him - twice - about a repair and he never responded. I started to worry that he was out of business, although his voice message indicated that he would get back to me. I'm bitterly disappointed at the lack of response because I've recommended him to a number of people and was so happy to have found a reliable, honest, and knowledgeable appliance repair person. Speed Queen washing machine was beeping intermittently. Speed Queen support referred me to Applegate Appliance. The owner Sean contacted me, ordered the part needed, set an appt to install. The process was clear. Sean gave a two-hour window, arrived on time, replaced the part quickly. The problem was fixed. Sean communicates clearly, says what he will do, and completes the job on time. Super service from Sean Applegate. Home warranty company dispatched a differnt company to deal with a major dishwasher issue but they weren't going to even come look for a whole week... so instead they provided Applegate, and from there it couldn't have been a better experience. He was super responsive setting up the service call, wasted no time focusing in on the diagnosis, explained the warranty company policy on replacing the parts that had failed-- the dishwasher control panel and part of the bottom wash arm. He provided some workarounds to use while he waited for parts, and as soon as he got the parts, he scheduled with us quickly and dealt with all the issues. Very prompt and clear and friendly communications, resolved our problems, everything went great. If it were the other company we'd still be waiting for their first visit. read more

Sean came by our place and did a full diagnostic check on the dishwasher we had leaking. He did a thorough quality inspection, tightened valves, etc and gave us a couple pointers on how to keep the issue from happening in the future. We have used Sean twice, once for our Speedqueen dryer, which needed a new electronic panel, and last week for our KitchenAid dishwasher, which needed new gaskets and a door seal. He is punctual, communicates well, and can repair almost any brand or type of appliance. You text him a photo of the make of the appliance, describe the issue and he'll look up the repair needed using the brand's website, and give you a quote. Can't tell you how nice it is to have an appliance guy that knows what he's doing, is reasonable in price, and is very quick for repair timing. Our 3 year old speed queen electric dryer decided its life goal was to be an electric fan. It had decided that heating was no longer part of its job description. A search of repair shops returned an extensive list of businesses that you should never call, for any reason, ever. Even though there were only a few reviews for Applegate Appliance, they were all 5 star, so we decided to call. Sean (owner) answered my initial inquiry promptly and set up a service time. He texted me to let me know when he was on his way. He quickly determined the parts that were broken and said it would be a couple of days for them to arrive. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. A couple of days later we set up a time for the repair. He texted me and asked if it would be OK if he arrived early. He installed the parts and did another complete check of the dryer and exhaust. If I could I give more than 5 stars I would. read more

I went through three truly mediocre service repair companies sent by GE for my new fridge/freezer's ice maker that stopped working months after installation, it took FIVE visits with the three companies' 4 technicians to finally get it fixed but then on Thanksgiving the fridge started leaking water while I was cooking dinner and I had had it with the fridge. GE provided a new fridge/freezer and three months after that installation the ice maker stopped working. I asked for the best of the previous three technicians and he was terrible this time, told me he was going to jail, ranted that the fridge should never be taken off the wheels to use the levelers, installed a new ice maker I had on hand. When it still didn't work he left saying to wait 72 hours. Of course nothing happened so I called GE and finally got Sean Applegate assigned after I refused the previous three. Instead of leaping into replacing the ice maker he actually diagnosed the problem. There was a service bulletin about a known problem with the water fill tubing coil heater not working which leads to the water fill tube freezing up. A new part had been designed to address the issue. He ordered the part, but was told it was back ordered to July 1st. In the meantime he defrosted the line using a steaming tool and the ice maker started working immediately (the same ice maker the previous technician told me to wait 72 hours to come alive). I called GE and their Customer Relations department did a national search and it arrived May 29, expedited shipment which I appreciated because the agent initially had told me they couldn't guarantee expedited shipping. Sean came out two days later, installed the new coil heater. He's marvelous. Courteous, professional, very knowledgeable, methodical, responsive. I can't say enough good things about Sean. Including he's not going to jail like the previous technician told me when he arrived (!) Such a pleasure to discover a gem like Sean and his business. read more
