I'm a little shocked no one has reviewed this yet. This is like the go to restaurant for WSC students. I personally love Applebee's. The waitstaff is wonderful. The menu has lots of options. I took my mom there for dinner because of the convenient location. She wanted to enjoy a hot soup on this cold rainy night. The choices are limited and spicy. So no soup tonight! Then she ordered the boneless chicken with honey bbq sauce and the nuggets were dry. The sauce, not enough honey. I ordered the Asian shrimp stir fry with pot sticker sauce. Hahaha! The broccoli was hard like crudite and difficult to chew. I had to get extra sauce because the stir fry was dry. The shrimps were sad little things. The sauce was good. The dinner was kind of warm. The wait person asked how is it? I said not very good and she says, yeah, it's not one of my favorites! Really? Ohh and the iced water tastes like chlorine. Yummm. The table was sticky. We reluctantly went in due to another restaurant not being open for lunch. I haven't been in to an Applebee's in a couple years due to terrible food in the past. I'll say one thing first. Our waitress Shannon was fantastic. But that was the only positive part. We ordered the pretzel appetizer. Mediocre and way too salty. And I usually salt everything. I'm not sensitive to it. Everything I looked at on the menu sounded decent so I chose the Philly burger. It came open faced on a stale sub roll. With shredded cheese all over it. Not melted cheese. The vegetables were cold. I picked the burger out and ate it with a fork. Onion rings were ok. All four of them. Also ordered at our table was a chicken shrimp meal. Also very salty. For the price they charge for lunch ($40) you'd think they could get it right. I can only assume they stay open due to having a bar in a college town. Two thumbs down. read more

Solid food as always. The Lunch menu is a better option and value than the dinner.

I only rate food and I struggled to give 2 stars. We ordered 5 appetizers, salmon, Thai salad, and a couple of pasta dishes. Nothing was fresh at all... We would have been better off to get food out of a can and microwaved it ourselves. Portions were very small and prices go right along with their overhead. The only reason for the second star was because our waitress Emily was awesome. Not sure I'll try this chain again... Not sure why I go to chain restaurants at all. read more

I'm here a few times a week. Like the food and people. If there is problem, they go out of their way to fix it.

The food is ok, staff was good but the tables are tight together. We were sat at a table with one end against a wall and three deep and if the person against the wall had to get out, the other two had to scoot out so that person could slide across their seats because you couldn't push your chair out. Horrible! Dirty highchair for my baby! I had to ask them to wipe off the encrusted food that layered the highchair. The table was not wiped an I had to ask for the wet towel to wipe it myself to remove the sticky residue. Umm that was just walking in! The food received was cold! I am only giving this establishment two stars because their wait staff is great and they have half-priced appetizers after 9 pm; otherwise the food is overpriced, comes in tiny portions, and is nothing that I would ever recommend. This Applebees is excellent! No problems. Our waitress was incredible and food was beautiful and delicious. More than was expected from an Applebees for sure. The only catch was the Westfield Chearleading team who was taking up quite a bit of the restaurant and was super rude. They were yelling demands across the restaurant and we had to bite our tongues to not say anything to them. Kudos to our server and the restaurant for maintaining composure and great service for having to deal with things like that! If a leisurely dinner with your family is the plan, avoid going when there is a whole TEAM of annoying high school girls present. read more

Well, me and my fiance went there on 10/4/17 around 6pm. After only 2 of their "$1.00 all day margarita" special, the server rudely told me that she could not serve me anymore and said she would get me a cup of water. With a glass 95% full of ice, filled almost to the brim with juices and only a splash of tequila, her cutting me off after TWO of them? Sounds like a joke. If I had differed in appearance (maybe older and heavier, vs my young skinny self), I would NOT have been denied another drink. On top of that, being mainly ignored for the rest of the night, while she jokes around with her OLDER customers, whom she treated clearly MUCH different than us. She was in her 50s or 60s, about 5 ft 6 or 5 ft 7, brown hair. Clearly too old and miserable to promote a happy environment in any establishment. We felt unnecessarily babied and looked down upon due to our young age. 0/10 would not go back to this location again, 100% due to your unprofessional server. read more

Went there tonight for the last time. I had been there before several times over the last 5 years never really had a good meal but at least it was edible that was until tonight. I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger with a dry bun because i know they like to coat the buns in butter there. Sure enough the burger came back soaked in butter i thought I'd just get rid of the bun and eat the burger but after taking one bite i couldn't eat any more it tasted like charged grillings you'd scrap from your grill. Never again will i go there but I'm sure this place will be packed every night because there's nothing in westfield to eat anymore. Go to burger King or you'll get a much better burger. read more

This is, in my opinion, the best Applebee's in Western MA. In terms of good service, consistent food and cleanliness. We've ordered car side to go a ton of times over the last 2 years and it's been on point every time. Dining in has been great as well. Keep up the good work. read more

Terrible food quality that only seems to be getting worse each time I go with a number of different reasons. My raspberry iced tea was so watered down as if the machine was broken. Whenever I order the four cheese or three cheese pastas TO-GO, the sauces are soupy, distasteful, cold, and not even cheesy. Also asked for crispy chicken and got grilled. Recently, the chips that come with the spinach and artichoke dip were so salty that it was burning my throat. I'm not saying all this just to be a jerk, I used to love Applebee's and go all the time but lately their definitely losing the touch that they used to have! read more

I just went on this site and read the reviews. Wish I had done so before we visited this restaurant as I can see that they have had a large amount of unhappy diners. My meal was nothing like the depiction on the menu. When I questioned Kristina she exhibited a lot of bad attitude. ( she wasn't very amiable to begin with) If she shows up at work in this frame of mind often, management should send her home. In short, my meal was lousy. Another person at our table ordered chowder. The serving was hardly more than a few spoonfuls. The third person had a salad which was fine and is the only reason I am rating at two stars. Applebee's wasn't all that bad, the parking space was crazy though. There was an issue with the parking space so, we had to drive around the restaurant and park on the opposite side of the entrance. But, at least it was worth it. The costs were fair and not outrageous at all. Going out to eat especially with five people in your family can make your money go by fast but, not if you go here. We waited in line for about fifteen minutes before we got to sit down. The atmosphere was nice and calm; it was a little chilly so I would advise you to wear a light jacket. The food was okay it wasn't the best but it was alright. I had the sirloin steak and shrimp with a side of fries, the food looked and smelled better than it tasted. The smell of peppers and fish filled my nose as my mouth started to water. The shrimp was fresh and scrumptious, the steak wasn't seasoned well enough for me but, I did taste a little of the onions they put with it. The fries were salty and filled with potato, it was delicious and with the black pepper the fries tasted even better. They had this type of cheese sauce I didn't really care for because it was more watery than anything. The service was really good, he smiled the whole time, he had good manners, and he was very polite. It sucks I can't remember his name, but he was a very kind gentleman. The restaurant all in all deserves 3 out of five stars; I would recommend this for couples or family members that just want a good lunch or dinner. APPLEBEES!!! So we walk in and we see this glorious creature. So we're like damn! GLORIOUS CREATURE!!! We immediately follow this creature of love and instantly knew that this will be the place that we find ultimate satisfaction for preparedness of some pow shred. So we sit down, order some drinks and frites and we're like damn! Drinks and frites!!! We weren't even hungry or thirsty but we were doing everything we could to lengthen the exposure to this GLORIOUS CREATURE!!! The drinks and frites were of 5 star quality. I've never had such a mouth experience in my life. And in addition to the mouth feel; I had the honor of the most pleasurable eye feel....as the evening came to an end our checks came and it was time to make the move...time to ask this glorious creature for a name. We mustered up the courage, asked the ultimate question, and the glorious creature spoke; with grace and sonorous manner..."Vicky, my name is Vicky". During the weekend my friends and i decided to go out for lunch. We went to apple bees and were welcomed by the workers. There was no long line so we got a table in a matter of seconds. the environment was full of freedom. We got to choose where wed like to sit. the waiter was respectful and gave us as much time as we need to look over the menu. we then ordered tacos, steak and chicken wings. the wings were warm and covered in a delicious layer of spicy sauce, the tacos were cold and fresh with a burst of flavors like tomatoes, salsa, and onions. The steak was amazing. it was juicy and the BBQ sauce on it was plenty and filling. we refreshed ourselves with a sweet cold ice tea. after we finished we then ordered dessert. We ordered hot fudge brownies with ice cream. The brownies were soft textured and creamy on the inside with vanilla ice cream on the side which made a perfect combination of warm and cold. the chocolate fudge dripped down the brownie when i pressed my knife down the middle. My son's birthday was a couple of weeks ago. We had called a week prior to make a reservation, and were told to call back the day before. I called the day before, made a reservation for 18 people, answered the questions about high chairs and such, and told the family the plans. The day of the "party," I saw they were busy, and called 45 minutes prior to the reservation to confirm they would be ready for us, and was told "We don't do reservations." I explained I had already made one, who I made it with, and all the details I'd given. Again he says, "We don't do reservations." He said he would try to reach the person who took the reservation and call me back. When he couldn't reach her (as if that should make any difference!) he called back and said they wouldn't accommodate us, but he "couldn't be more sorry." I said I didn't want him to be sorry, I wanted him to start holding tables for us...it was still 45 minutes away! He refused, saying it isn't their policy. What do you think the odds are of getting 18 people to sit together at a crowded Applebee's without them reserving space? Um, zero! I told him, and still say, "It will be a cold day in hell before I go back there!" This is not the first time they have disappointed me, but it will be the last. Went to the Hangar in Westfield instead, and they were fantastic, very accommodating, happy to have 18 people ordering food and drink (which Applebee's should have been) and the food was MUCH better! read more
