Solid place to go at 9 PM when most restaurants are closed. Good selection of drinks from the bar, and 1/2 price appetizers after 9. Service here was great, our server Alison was lovely and friendly, she gives out fun toys like rubber ducks or little cars. I always try to give a 2nd chance in event first visit was just a fluke. Tonight I tried to place order online. It did not work out well so I called where Alixandra took my order. I arrived early. Everyone who I spoke with were all happy and appeared to enjoy working there. A bunch of young pretty ladies and one nice looking young man who noticed I was waiting, although his hands were full asked me if I needed anything. I ordered the 25.00 deal so I could eat on a few days. Burger was well done as I requested. Wings were good. I've yet to try other entree. I only went as far as pick up area, restaurant looked clean and all customers seemed happy and taken care of. read more

We went to this location today, on 6/7/25. My husband and I took our little 6 year old granddaughter there because she likes it, and also because my husband wanted the all you can eat ribs, shrimp and chicken. Because the kids' meals are usually very small portioned, we ordered both the kids' mac-n-cheese meal, and the kids' chicken tenders meal. I ordered my usual, the chicken fajita roll up & fries. I want to say, though, this review is no way the fault of the server. He was polite and nice and he felt bad for us. So our granddaughter's food came out first. A bowl of mac-n-cheese with 3 small chicken tenders. No fries, no other sides. This was totally our fault, because it never dawned on us until later that she should have received TWO sides, and 2 drinks, since we paid for two separate meals. Well, this little 6 year old took one bite of the mac-n-cheese and pushed it aside, saying, "this is so dry!" And she was right. It didn't look as though any butter or milk was used at all. Her 3 tenders were also dry, and she didn't eat any of it. My chicken fajita roll up came out and when I saw it, it was SO small, that the server even said, "I don't think they put any chicken in this." He took the plate back to the kitchen and he was right, there had been no chicken in it, so he had the cook add some. For my husband, the riblet meat was not that good either. He is a meat connoisseur, lol, and he said it didn't even qualify as "meat." I worked at Applebee's years ago, and it definitely isn't what it used to be. I get portions are smaller everywhere, but come on. When more food is left on the table because it's pretty bad, then that's a problem, and I can't imagine them staying afloat for the next 5 years if it keeps going like this. read more

Went to Applebee's for the first time in a long time and now I know why I don't go there! We ordered nachos and they were terrible! The chips were stale and greasy, and they even looked unappetizing. We tried to ignore how bad they were, but in the end, we sent them back. We ordered boneless wings as a replacement. Applebee's should be ashamed to serve such small boneless wings, they were pitiful. Our waitress was awesome, I feel bad she has to deal with delivering crappy food! Just stopped in and had fantastic service at this location. Jessica was at the bar closing up and was more than happy to take care of us on a late monday night. Food was so quick and the kitchen ripped out food in less than 5-10 minutes. All of our sides and dressings came out correct. okay food good service and fun experience! Went for a quick happy hour before going out to the bar, let's just say the night went great. Drinks were strong for a good pre game right before going to the hotel and having a nice night out. I sat on the bar side of the restaurant and the tables were a little off balance because they were resting on wheels. I don't know how we're expected to sit on a bar stool and keep balance on a table that is forever moving. As I said the food was okay... no one liked it to be honest. So I got together with 3 other people for dinner tonight. Server was good. Beverages were good. Combo appetizer was ok but not real warm. 3 people ordered burgers which were served mostly ok but one came with onion on it that wasn't supposed to. The main issue was the chicken and shrimp dish that was ordered. First time it came out absolutely burnt. Came back with a new piece of chicken that looked great, until I turned it over...burnt again, but not as bad. Potatoes, onions, mushrooms and shrimp were kinda warm. This is probably the cleanest, well run Applebee's in a 300 mile circumference. Staff is friendly, food and drinks come out quick. We could've opted for the Applebees in Mansfield Connecticut but drove the extra 15 minutes to Massachusetts. Definitely will be back. read more

So, I've been to Applebee's before at another location on the north shore and thought it was horrible for numerous reasons. I vowed to never come back (I'm not a huge fan of restaurant chains anyhow) but my younger cousins were having their 16th birthday here yesterday so I couldn't decline. We were a party of 13. We were seated right away but I was disappointed when I saw we only had one waitress. She did end up doing an excellent job though! Our drinks came out right away and a couple were mixed up...no big deal. Our appetizers took quite some time but they were pretty good so no complaints. Our entrees were out just a few minutes later. Out of 13 entrees only one had an issue...steak was undercooked. Impressive. My wife & I ordered the 2 for $25 deal. Boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese was our appetizer. I ordered baby back ribs with bbq seasoned fries and 4 cheese Mac n cheese topped with bacon. I know, I know tons of carbohydrates but we were celebrating so why not? Haha. Anyhow, my entree was pretty good and better than I anticipated. The wife ordered an 8oz sirloin steak with sweet mashed potatoes and zucchini. She also enjoyed hers even though she said the steak had nothing on Texas Roadhouse. No surprise there. We had cake and ice cream after then wrapped it up. Everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was great and the waitress did receive help along the way. A water pipe broke so they ended up having to close in the middle of our meal but let us finish and it in no way effected us other than not being able to order water or soda. It was okay though. Everyone was helpful, patient and very friendly. I'll definitely consider coming back to Applebee's...this location only though. read more

I avoid chains at all cost but we were caught up in a family event and by the time we were done it was too late for anywhere else and this was the closest food option besides Burger King. I should've gone to Burger King and maybe it would've been cleaner. Server had no idea what beers were available on draft. Floors were covered in trash. We ordered a vegetarian meal and assuming their TOMATO BASIL soup was vegetarian we ordered it and immediately I could taste the chicken broth. Although Sturbridge did not have a lot to offer for taverns or restaurants being open on Monday, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. My bacon burger was "ok", my husband's steak was tough and overcooked. My main reason for leaving a review is the employees. The whole time we were there, there was 4 employees at the greeter desk. They never did a thing other than talk and fool around with each other. We ate at the bar and bartender was actually rude. We waited a long time for our bill even though waitresses walked by and looked at us several times. I find that all Applebee's is pretty much the same as far as the food goes. What sets them apart from each other is the service. When I am visiting a friend local to this location I love to stop by and sit at the bar with Jamie. She is absolutely fantastic! It's usually late night for a drink or two and some 1/2 price apps. We are usually there around 10-11 pm on a Wednesday night, so it's pretty dead and she is able to have actual conversations with her guests at the bar. My husband and I absolutely love chatting with her. She makes coming in a very pleasant and inviting experience. read more

Went here for dinner and the waitress was very nice and checked in with us multi times. The food was good and came out in a good time frame.

Armed with a coupon for an $.99 appetizer good only at this location, we decided to see if lightning would strike twice. This ended up being a huge disappointment after last weeks visit to the Auburn location. We received a warm greeting upon entering and were seated right away. You would think that with both Mrs B and I on crutches they would not pass up all of those empty tables and make us travel towards the far end of the dining room. I had the Slow Simmered Beef Sandwich, Mrs B, the Chicken Fajita Roll up. While the food tasted OK, the quality just didn't seem to be as good as the week before. As for the service, Erin, our server, was friendly and and helpful in keeping thing things moving at a good pace. One thing I was surprised to see was the manager spending quite a bit of time visiting patrons and checking on them. But one should be careful when asking questions. She received a few complaints and tended to a few unhappy customers by bringing them new orders. Guess we weren't the only ones. read more

For Applebee's, I think this is one of their better stores, as long as you are seated in the bar. Let's face it, no Applebee's is a five star establishment. With that said, this one has a pretty good staff, who are friendly. The food comes out how you order it, and they are pretty quick. However, if you don't sit in the bar, all bets are off. The most inconsiderate employee did not check this to go order and it was delivered so we had no way to know until was delivered! Incredible food, service and ambience. Delicious flavourful apps, big ass beers and sauces to die for. The service was unlike anything I've experienced. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I was tricked into paying 1.99 for the stupid quiz game. It was really fun and I learned more about myself and my partner than ever before. However, I thought it was free. When I saw the charge on the check I was furious and ready to implode. Ultimately I decided it was not worth complaining because everything else was fantastic. Our server had to be new. Awkward is best word to describe her and didn't handle any setbacks well. I felt bad initially because she seemed overwhelmed but after a while it was annoying. Food was typical applebees, so-so. Rice with bf's fiesta chicken was dry as hell. We had to ask for silverware and re-fills. I'm a townie, and have been here many times before. Last night I took my wife there for her birthday. I had the new 3 course meal offerings; a Ceasar salad, an appetizer of boneless buffalo wings, and an 8oz. rare sirloin. Let's concentrate on the main course: The steak arrived with the typical grill marks. It appeared, and was extremely dry. There was no garnish of any kind. No garlic butter puddling on the surface, no fried onions or mushrooms. Just a dry piece of steak looking much like an oval, brown sponge. I cut into it to check doneness. To be honest, I really couldn't tell. It wasn't a dark purplish-red in color. It was more like a fleshy pink. I've never seen a steak color like it. Okay, dry steak. I got broccoli and seasoned rice. Again, the brocolli was served with no garnish whatsoever; no seasoning, no butter, nothing! The seasoned rice was chokingly dry. I asked for butter to moisten things up. My entire meal was a major disappointment. Elsewhere, the salad was way too small. Come on, it was just hand full of lettuce! How can you mess that up? The boneless buffalo wings were probably the best of what I ate. I was thoroughly disappointed, and it will be a long time before I return there again. read more
