This is just what my boyfriend and I needed on a cold snowy night. We were already planning to have some sort of date night. Applebee's happened to be the place we chose. We started the night off with 2 shark bowls, which I was intrigued by because of the gummy shark the menu had promised. Not only was there one gummy shark, but there was two, which already made this experience amazing. We ordered the steak quesadilla as an appetizer which was really delicious, and would definitely recommend it. I ordered the bourbon shrimp and chicken, which is always one of my Applebee's favorites. I think this Applebee's did the best on this dish. It was flavorful and my chicken was tender and could be cut with a fork. Our waitress I believe whose name was Gina was super friendly and had great customer service. After having a lousy time finding edible food and services at Wendy's in Poughkeepsie yesterday, I came into your location again, and although I had had the brownie bites in the past for dessert (when they weren't made with dark chocolate at another local location) when I saw that most of your desserts menu used dark chocolate - something I resent not enjoying the bitterness - I couldn't help but choose to do take out of the Hot Fudge Sundae Dessert Shooter because of the description using hot fudge (instead of dark chocolate). Little did I know that this is just ice cream in a cup with hot fudge on top and some whipped cream (if requested) - nothing more, nothing less. I was expecting a lot more to this if you push the Desserts explanation as much as you did - but I guess I got what I paid for - costing less than $3 with tax. But I'll learn to lay off and look further. (Guess it pays to have the Applebees Carhop-to-go menu on your phone and read the description from there, making the purchase and heading in before you see a person's meltdown when they see their possible dessert being massacred.) Kind of glad that you put in some wet wipe packages - really necessary given the dessert choice I had. Still kind of not amused with this place. Every time I come in to get something, it's hit or miss with a good order or the worst order ever. Although the place is clean and maintained, and there's rarely ever a line, the food can be better explained and better prepared in the back, with employees who don't push you off to the bar to place the order if you are planning to buy the food "for pickup". Went here the other week and we ordered. Waiters were very friendly but than we found ants all over our table and under it as well, we were grossed out than reported it to the waiter who's response was "it happens" we moved tables and I further dissected that response and made the decision to leave. If they were so unworried about ants in the dining room I can only imagine what the kitchen must look like and how normally this must happen if they were unfazed by it. It's long overdue but the gang finally got back together for another review. After a heated discussion we hesitantly decided on giving our local neighborhood a visit. This may sound hard for Zack but it turned out to be a very pleasurable eating experience filled with new companionship. While perusing the menu for appetizers to split, me and Zack had the pleasure of meeting Becky's new boy toy, Dalton. The inviting ambiance really allowed me and Zack to get a firm grasp of Dalton and make sure he's worthy of our blessing. Jk47 and Zack decided to split 3 apps for $13.49. This seemed like a SPECTACULAR deal, but the portion sizes proved to be less than satisfactory. Jk47 enjoyed the chicken wonton tacos the most, while Zack's tastebuds took to the mozz stocks the most. Let's be real here though, the chicken wonton only came with ONE tiny lime slice... REALLY!? Just ONE lime slice for THREE tacos at an APPLEBEES!!... slightly pathetic. Dalton and Becky decided to do the 2 for $25, since they're a COUPLE. This seemed to upset Zack due to his past relationship with Becky, but he did his best to hide his feelings of heartbreak and despair. Dalton had the four cheese Mac and cheese and Becky had the shrimp wonton stir fry, both were pleased with their meals. Let's analyze the service now. Our waitress was extremely pleasant. She asked for our order right away as our food came approximately 7.5 minutes after ordering. HOWEVER, the portions were relatively minuscule. The food went as quickly as it came to say the least! Our server not the worst but I would skewing this review if I failed to mention the obscene amount of time it took for Dalton's Mountain Dew to be refilled. We just had dinner here and it was absolutely awful. Christina was our waitress and she was horrible. Not friendly at all. Didn't get a single plate right which is hard considering we all got burgers.... the food usually tastes great but I can't even say it tasted good. Was almost an empty restaurant and it was extremely slow. The waitresses were just sitting and talking. I used to be a waitress so i know how hard things can be but idk how you can be that bad. Quite frankly, this is a terrible Applebee's. I'd give it a 2 star review if my wings had half as much sauce as they did the first day I came. The first day we came was a Friday night in which we waited an hour for our food and then a whole hour for missing items from our order. I went to this Applebee's today for lunch. The greeter was very nice and the server was pleasant. The server was also very patient while I tried to decide what I wanted. I ordered the chicken fingers meal (not the large one with cold slaw) and was told I'd be receiving 5 chicken fingers and fries for $10.99. Cool. I get my plate and immediately noticed that one chicken finger was significantly smaller than the other 4. I asked the server to take a look and she said: 'yes, they come in all sizes. I know how you feel, the same thing happened to me, but that's how they come.' I said that it looked more like a chicken nugget than a chicken finger. She corrected me and said 'we don't have nuggets here. We only have boneless wings and chicken fingers.' I was done after that. I paid $15 for a drink, fries, 4 fingers and a nub. Did not get the last ranch dressing that I ordered either. Although I didn't particularly appreciate the chicken nugget correction (she totally ignored the point of the comparison), I don't hold it against the server. I wish she'd just replaced the chicken finger, which she didn't, but she was still a nice server. I left a tip. Still, I want to receive full value for my $$$. Before I made an online order for a big party I was having, I called in advance to see how much wings and mozzarella sticks come In the classic combo for catering (website didn't give us a number). The "manager" was put on the phone and a few minutes later she said 60 chicken wings and 48 mozzarella sticks. We picked it up a few hours later and it was half of that! We even called another Applebee's in Kingston to confirm it and they said the same thing. We called the store to complain and the manager Pedro didn't give us any answers. After waiting 15 minutes after replying i I called Applebee's card side to go, phone rang about 15 times, picked up by bartender who said there was no car side to go staff working, I would either have to wait until she could bring order to the car or I can go in and pick up the order. Went to the Applebee's in Poughkeepsie NY today with my wife. We ordered the two for $ 20.00 and a cup of coffee which with the tip came out to be $ 28.00, we didn't mind that. How ever, the portions of both orders were extremely small. We stopped going to Applebee's about 9 months ago for the same reason. But we returned about two month ago and everything was back to normal, portion reasonable. If your hungry and on a lunch break, don't go to Applebee's, cause you'll leave hungry and disappointed. We apparently sat next to the "break table" where about 4 staff were just sitting and chatting, loudly. With the super slow service you would think there was something else they could be doing.
