Could have been worse, really the problem was the severed head in the mens room stinking up the place

Food was good, service was alright, but there was a severed head in the 3rd stall of the men's room

The service was abysmal! Not only did it take forever to get service, but once it came it was tedious and not accurate. We had to ask for our drinks after forever. Once our food finally came, it had missing ingredients; wrong requests; and missing items. The waitress blamed it on being " experienced " and " I only got three hours sleep!" Seriously!? There weren't that many people in the restaurant. No excuse except BAD SERVICE and bad attitude! The food choices are excellent, but the staff was terrible and totally dressed unprofessional. Sad! read more

This place is an utter disaster! Now an IHOP/Applebees combo the overall experience hasn't changed (improved). Horribly slow. Restaurant was only 1/3-1/2 full with seemingly descent wait staffing. Suggests that cooks are limited? Breakfast food should generally be a quick make and turnaround. About 45 minutes to get our breakfast food! Belgian waffle: cold, dry, hard, crunchy Bacon: 1/2 the pieces were 1/2 fat (undercooked) French toast: one 1 side was cooked, the underside ra read more

I don't even know where to start with how bad this Applebee's was. From the second we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience instead of customers. We stood around waiting to be acknowledged while staff walked past us like we were invisible. When we finally got seated, it somehow got worse. The service was painfully slow and careless. Our server barely checked on us, forgot things we asked for, and acted annoyed every time we needed something. It honestly felt like no one there wanted to be working--or serving food at all. Now the food... wow. Just awful. Everything came out lukewarm, like it had been sitting around for a while. The food was bland, greasy, and honestly borderline inedible. The presentation was sad, the portions weren't worth the price, and nothing tasted fresh. For a place that's supposed to be a casual, reliable chain, this was a complete letdown. By the time we left, we were just frustrated and disappointed. Bad service, bad food, bad experience all around. There are way too many other places to eat to ever come back here. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and go literally anywhere else. read more

Probably the worst restaurant in the area to go to service wise. We sat at our table for 20+ minutes before we even got asked what we would like to drink. AND IT WASN'T BUSY. The food that we finally got after over an hour of being there was not even worth waiting for. And didn't get any refills or even checked on after the food got to our table. We actually had to wave someone down for silverware. Horrible experience. On that note, La Crosse Family Restaurant is amazing with their fast service and delicious food! Plus they have all day breakfast too! read more

They didn't have the A/C on and it was almost 90 degrees outside. Our server was polite but slower than old people. The food arrival was even slower, and I had ordered "loaded" garlic mash potatoes and then had to ask for sour cream! My medium sirloin was just about raw and it took over an hour for an appetizer and 2 dinners! And the cost was absolutely outrageous for the quality and service! Either step it up or let it go under! read more

Wow the service was bad, food came out burnt. Not sure how this is allowed highly recommend DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I've dined at Applebees/ ihop all over the country this one was the worst one I have seen. Management should be embarrassed. read more

Food horrible! 2/10 shrimp, 1/10 chicken, -0/10 riblets, 2/10 wonton tacos, 2/10 pickle fries, 5/10 cheese sticks, 4/10 iced vanilla cold brew with vanilla cold foam, poor service! I could write a book.... Never again! read more

4 people including me went for a average supper for a birthday. We were there for way too long and didn't even get my drink until we were all already done eating. the food was not the best and we waiting so long even just for water. the Hispanic worker was our waiter and he never said sorry once and was trying to insult us by asking if we were from lax school (we aren't) bc its nothing like how his school was. we were his only table he was waiting on and we waited for stuff most of the time we were there. will not go again! read more

We didn't even get to a table when a whole group of people stormed out telling the host "it's been an hour and not 1 waitress has came to our table and we haven't gotten drinks!" And then they all stormed out. The was a pretty big line and about half the people in the line just walked out without saying anything. read more

Couldn't have had a worse experience! Started with the host. Tried seating us (2) at a table that had 1 chair. Found another table. Server Sam was horrible! Ordered drinks. Saw they were done at the bar. Watched Sam walk by them several times before finally bringing them to us. They were watered down and gross. Was told by Sam that the bartender was new and that's why the drinks were bad. Appetizer took 53 minutes to arrive and our food came out at the same time. Appetizer was served in a Togo box?? Food was cold and inedible. Burger bun stuck to the plate! Server Sam never came to check on us once. We flagged down the manager and told her about our experience. She said sorry, comped only our drinks and told us to take a survey that was on the receipt. Definitely won't be back!! read more

My three friends and I decided to come here for dinner and truly regret it. I ordered the new promotional pool bucket drink which was $14 and was advertised with the perk of getting to keep the bucket. I was asked if I would like it in the bucket and I said yes. When my drink was brought out it was not in the pool bucket but in a regular drink glass with no mention of what happened to the buckets. Instead our server apologized for the wait on our drinks and explained it was because she had made them wrong the first time. We heard another server tell our server our apps were ready (we know it was ours since she had no other tables at the time) and instead of bringing them to us she went to the host stand and seated herself with two more tables and took their orders. This whole time we had no waters and two of my friends had no drinks at all still. It took another 5-10 minutes for our server to bring our waters and then our appetizers which were good but were brought with the wrong sauce and had clearly been sitting out as the marinara sauce was crusted on top. When our food was brought out my two friends had both ordered the exact same chicken sandwich with no tomatoes, which had been repeated back to them correctly. The chicken sandwiches were two different sandwiches, one with bacon and cheese and another with a sauce and both had tomatoes. The chicken was dusty on the outside and flavorless. The fries on the plates were cold. My other friend ordered biscuits and gravy which were also cold. I ordered the pancake combo breakfast and was brought all of my sides but no pancakes. Our server asked if we wanted anything else so I asked for my pancakes and they were brought out cold and clearly sitting for some time as the topping was completely soaked in. Overall, we were not informed of changes being made to our food or lack of ingredients and were instead brought out what the kitchen or server thought would be an appropriate substitute with no mention of the substitute to us. Service was also slow and left us waiting too long for waters and receiving cold food. Will not be coming back read more

They messed up 3 people's orders in the 45 min we were there. Heard I'm sorry 20 times. Completely forgot to bring my app and then forgot to take it off the bill. Food and atmosphere was bleh. Oh well, used to be a good place read more

Stopped in two nights ago around 6:30 pm with 3 of my grandsons to grab a bite to eat. Our day was busy so this was a treat. Upon entering the restaurant a waitress went to take care of us and the GREET STAFF, took over and chimed in that it'll be a 20 minute wait with a snotty scowl on her face. I raised an eyebrow and so did the waitress. Upon glancing through the restaurant, there was at LEAST FIFTEEN tables open. Six of them with double occupancy only but we would've made it work. So we left and went to Perkins instead. To the STAFF AND MANAGER AT APPLEBEE'S, our bill was almost $80. I HAPPILY paid that and left a HEFTY tip for the waitress who had no trouble with any of my three grandsons who were well behaved. I'll be second guessing my choice from now on to stop at your facility. Thank you for your rejection. Our food at PERKINS was awesome. read more

So went on Sat to try the new I hop-Applebess place and it was very very bad over hour to get cold food and small portions of food . Never again .. for $53.00 for cold food and small kids size portions and over a hour for simple pancakes & eggs !! NOT read more

Very disappointed. Never going back. Ordered our meals, waited 45 minutes to get our food and it wasn't even busy in there. They had plenty of staff working so it shouldn't have been that way.....Then our food arrives and we had no silverware. Asked two different waitresses for silverware, neither one brought us any, had to get up and get it ourselves. By then the food was cold. One meal was a burger and the bun was burnt so bad no way you could eat it. That did get sent back for a new bun. Time to pay went to the cash register and they won't take your money, you have to pay your server..so you have to hunt her down. read more

I was very disappointed to go to this Applebees and have to wait over an hour for our food. Waitress kept making excuses for our food being late. After an hour of waiting, our waitress informed us that they were plating up our food so it will be out shortly. After another half hour without our food, our waitress informed us that they were out of marinara so we needed to pick a different sauce for our Chicken Parm Fettuccine. I was very disappointed with this experience. Would not recommend this Applebees. read more

I should have guessed things would be bad when the hostess sat us at a dirty table in an almost empty restaurant. I ordered an appetizer of Chicken Waton Tacos, a Oriental Chicken Salad for my Main and a diet Mt Dew. Our waitress brought out our meals, in my case, my salad. I asked her if it was a lunch portion? She said yes. It was literally as small as a side salad. The lettuce was wilted and soaked in the dressing. They for some reason brought me a side of french...whatever that was for, and a bread stick. I could hammered nails with the bread stick it was so hard. At some point she asked if I wanted the check, even though I never got the taco appetizer. It was of course on the bill! When she returned for my card I said you need to fix the bill. I never received my appetizer and I don't want to pay for a full portion salad when I got the lunch size. She asked for my card and I said could you please bring the revised bill tab first. Manager followed her back and said she'd take off the tacos but the salads are preportioned out so thats just what the salad is. They took off the tacos and I guess took off a small bit for the salad. I made my friend go there because I had been craving that salad and hadn't had one in a long while. It was awful food all the way around. My friends was luke warm and VERY salty she said. Same bread of hammer stick with her meal. Won't ever be eating there again. Wish I had taken a picture of the sad salad. read more

Saturday afternoon my mom and I stopped in for lunch...we both opted for the Whole Lotta Bacon Burger. I'll be honest, I didn't read about it....read bacon and ordered it. I cut the burger in half upon receiving it... if I didn't, I didn't see the meal ending well for...my shirt. I was delightfully surprised and happy with the taste of the sauce! At first I wanted to say a honey barbecue, due to it's sweetness.....but Upon further bites..... I want to say a delicious.... honey sriracha! It's been years since I've had Applebee's so my mom was commenting she forgot they had good seasoned fries! I tried them... yes, delicious! So for both of us, we thought our meals were a hit!! When we arrived we were promptly greeted and immediately seated. Our server was friendly and attentive! She came around to check on us? We sent her away with "yes, everything is delicious." Which my mom immediately "oh, I should have told her I wanted more water." As I see her already returning behind her with a new full glass. We didn't even need to say anything....she had taken in the necessity with her subtle scan of our table....thanks! My mom had noticed a window display of all you can eat salad, soup & bread sticks for $8.99 so that offer offer coupled with the exceptional Saturday lunch service we will definitely be back, thanks Applebee's! read more

I have never had a bad experience with the local applebees until my last visit....Our plates were dirty on the bottom with grease and a grainy substance, like they washed the top of the plates but not the bottom. The seating at our booth had large holes in the fabric. The seating host brought us our food on the dirty plates and had to be called back to give us silverware. However, our assigned server (who took our order) was very pleasant, altho she seemed new and probably forgot to give us silverware to begin with. After all of these years, I don't think we will return for quite some time. read more

It took over 20 minutes for our appetizers to be brought out to us. Then when they were brought, they were cold we were offered free desserts for the inconvenience, but it took the manager to ask us if we wanted it replaced. our food took over 45 minutes to be out to us and this was with a dead dining room and several employees just sitting around talking. Our waitress we asked for our check three times it took her 20 minutes to bring us that because she kept going back to the tables and talking with her coworkers instead of doing her job we had to get a manager to get us a refill for our sodas. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger, which was over seasoned and cooked well done when I asked for a medium rare. Just a total service overall from the kitchen to the weight staff into the management was a poor display. the manager seemed more enthusiastic about gossiping with her work staff and chasing an employees child around or maybe her own I'm very unsure. I do not recommend this restaurant in Marshfield Wisconsin. read more

This is not the Applebee's I am used to. Looks like they let the place go. Some ripped and lumpy seat cushions. Food not as tasty as I remember from other Applebee's. Came to this Applebees with the family for a nice evening out. What we didn't expect was when me and my son had finished the double crunch bone-in wings which were absolutely delectable by the way, loved the double crunchiness of the bones. but back to the story, the wings were hot, like really hot, and when I had a fahrenheit 451 level bowel movement and went to the bathroom, I ran in ignoring the stench and stumbled my way to the toilet. When I opened the lid, a half decayed face of a man stared back at me. Absolutely terrifying but will come back. good food 4/5 for the head. read more

We had SUCH a good time at Applebee's!! We came in around 7pm on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately, and our server Jaylen was SO attentive and had wonderful recommendations for food. One of the people in our group ordered a burger but replaced the burger with a vegetarian burger, and the waitstaff caught that the burger toppings included bacon and held the bacon for her, which was a really good catch! The food was wonderful, and again, Jaylen was such a good server and really added to our dining experience. She was so knowledgable, so friendly, and so quick. Would absolutely come again!! read more
