Here is the short version: do not bother unless you like cranky staff and crappier food. Was hoping for better. Applebees as a chain is tanking. Last one I will try. Hostess was cranky. Passed another server on the way to our table and she about bit the head off the hostess for giving her another table. So we were moved elsewhere. Bench seat had a big hole in it. Table next to us had not been cleared. Never cleared in the 40 min we were here. Neither were two others we could see. Not busy either. Ordered the Loaded Wave Fries. Picture on menu showed a heaping pile of potato wedges smothered in cheese and nice red pieces of bacon. What came out was barely covering the plate and only in the center. About one layer thick of thin sliced potatoes. Barely any cheese. The bacon? Looked like some dusted it with the left overs waste at the bottom of a bag of hormel bacon pieces. So bacon dust. No flavor. We both ordered the breaded chicken salad. What came out was fine as far as a salad goes, but the chicken was so dry and most pieces were just breading. Should be renamed Desert Dry Chicken. No flavor. The "Signature Breadstick", when it finally showed up, had no flavor. One was obviously getting dried and was just warmed. It was tough to chew. The other was fresh. Neither had any flavor. Signature usually means a dish you are proud of. Something people seek out. If these were signature items, they have almost hit bottom. Tasteless bread. No seasoning. So with that, done trying to give Applebees a chance. They are a has been and will soon be joining the ranks of all the other chains like them that are dying. Good riddance. read more

This place is great for hanging out with friends late at night for cheap drinks and apps. The service is absolutely terrible. There's never a host, servers aren't very good and don't want to be there. You aren't able to modify the drinks at all, it's against policy. So if you don't like super sugary drinks you're out of luck. Now the good. After 9pm every day, they have a lot of half price apps which always taste very good. There's also a few $5 drinks. They normally have 1-2 cheap monthly drinks as well. read more

Me and my friends waited, abnormally long to be seated then our waitress who was doubling as the bartender Daisy I think her name was left us hanging for another 20 minutes until we even were greeted because she didn't want to be recorded because me and my friends were filming a little Vlog so instead of getting us another waiter she just decided to leave us hanging on top of that she skimped out on making our drinks The steak was very salty. They do this on purpose at restaurants when they don't like you they over salt the food so it taste bad. This is not the traditional Applebee's experience management only took off $15 for inconvenience when you order the margarita tin you're supposed to get a lot more drinking it than what they gave us from my experience at other Applebee's other staff was also rude. At least the actual new waiter was nice. Ambience was bad because we can overhear the bartender daisy complaining about us recording making a little video. read more

Our go-to steak and hamburger place in Middletown. Service is efficient enough and friendly. Delivery is timely. Fountain drinks taste funny. Don't bother with the ginger ale- even the servers say that everyone says it doesn't taste like ginger-ale. Maybe management will listen one of these days? read more

Arrived to be greeted by the miserable hostess. She made me want to leave, but my son and wife wanted to stick it out. She rudely stated that there is a 15 min wait... for what idk. The place is almost empty. I'd recommend going elsewhere where. The inside definitely needs a good cleaning, windows dirty. The tables gross and sticky, and the smell of the old carpets is a turn off. The only thing keeping from leaving was the drinks from the bar and nice waiter/server. Had dinner here, the ambiance was chill and easy going. Not too bright and not too dark, just the right lighting for a relax atmosphere. Music wasn't too loud nor the tvs on so they don't drown each other or make it difficult to have a conversation. Christa H. did an astounding job taking care of us and making sure we had anything we needed. My husband and I ordered the Whisky Bacon burger, it did not disappoint. The beef patties were made to our liking and the sauce was tasty. We ordered drinks, the Blue Aloha Mana Margarita was good but more sweet than anything. Also ordered the Breaking Rock Rita and it was a it on the strong side, they were still good but not for us. Overall, great food and the service thanks to Christa we had a good time. read more

When we came in we had to wait to be seated for a table for 2. Once seated in a booth in the bar area, we patiently waited for over a half an hour to be approached or even greeted by a server. While sitting there, another family was seated after us in the same area, and started getting serviced almost immediately. I order from here at least once a week. I doordash so I can stay home and have my food delivered. The last several times it has been small errors like sauce missing or meat not cooked well when it was requested. However tonight I had my grandkids over I spent over $80. One of my entire meals were missing. My son called doordash since this was his account. He was told they would have to investigate because I spent so much money. So I called Applebee's and requested a manager he told me he doesn't give refunds when I was just asking before giving bag to driver do they check if everything was in bag. Moreover the bag was not sealed.Again my meal was missing and I'm being told it's the driver's job to check the order not the restaurant. So I'm out of $20 but this is the way an establishment handles business. For this I give 1 star for the horrible way I felt after this experience. read more

Went to Applebee's to get an early meal. Waited 20 minutes to get served. Waitress very scattered - took order - 1 was a special order - repeated special order - order had to be restated. Food took 45 minutes to get to table. Food was tasty - to my surprise, but very thankful. In the meantime - other things happening that indicate patrons not happy with their experience. Second round of beverages. Halfway through 2nd diet soda - our diabetic person at the table - his glucose meter shoots up to 220? We ask the server if the soda was diet? - she absolutely says yes, I asked is she filled it herself she said yes. Then she states she did not fill the first one - which had to be regular soda! We had no food in between. All I heard was apologies at every table. Problem with food - problem with charge on credit card. Not sure of why the delays - I get it that the business is a tough one - but the mistake with the diet soda in place of full sugar soda is careless and dangerous. We won't be back. read more

Terrible experience the waitress Theresa ignored my table, it seemed intentional she kept glaring angrily at my date, we felt uncomfortable like we were bothering her. The main bartender also was extremely rude, the seating person asked her if she wanted to wait on us and she very angrily said "no I don't want them" rolled her eyes and proceeded to give us dirty looks from across the room. I've seen her be very mean to the younger staff members and she's openly rude with customers which made it uncomfortable and tense. The food was cold, fries seemed like they had been microwaved, chicken in sandwich was over cooked and dry, I asked for additional ranch because the sandwich was very dry and the waitress never brought it and seemed annoyed that I'd asked for it. Overall needs improvement, staff needs to get retrained in customer service, wouldn't recommend spending your money or time you're better off going to Chillis or Outback the service is 100x better and food isn't reheated. read more

Not sure what the problem is with this "fast food" restaurant. Many of the reviewers have complained about the service or lack thereof. The times we've sat down to dine the service was decent and the server was attentive. Unfortunately "Carside toGo" is another beast. In a word horrible. 4 cars sitting outside waiting for food to be delivered...I can hear the drivers calling the number and no one picking up the phone. We as the other 3 go so frustrated waiting that all of us had to go In and pickup our own food. There must be a reason why this branch cannot keep staff. Apparently one employee had called out and it was a domino effect and nothing could get done. Ehhhh. That's about the sum of our most recent visit this past Sunday. It was around 7:00 so the main dinner rush was over. We were seated quickly by a very pleasant hostess. Our waitress started out great. She was very personable and cheerful. For our drink order I asked for a water and a lemonade, but didn't get the water. Not a big deal, but then other little things kept happening. She would disappear for longer times than any other staff member. Drinks finished and refills requested. Refills sat at the bar for a while. In fact our food came a request for a condiment was made. 10 minutes later the sauce came. Then finally after another chunk of time our refills came. We were asked a little while if we were ready for the bill while we were eating. No chance for subpar desserts as we weren't encouraged or even asked. The food was mediocre. The fries were stale. My chicken sandwich was okay. There was nothing that left me wanting more. There appeared to be a manager if not two present, but I don't see what purpose they served. As someone who works at a different Doherty Applebee's location, I am taken back by the misinformation the staff at this store is either given by management or just lacks the effort to figure out how to ring items in the correct way.
