This afternoon we went to Applebee's for dinner and had an awful experience. First, we received filthy silver ware & had to wait at least 30 minutes for her to come and take our order. After we finally received our food, the waitress we had never came back to check on us. My husband ordered the All you can eat meals and only received 1 and 1 to go due to her waiting 30 minutes to bring his second meal. It plainly took forever for everything!! I highly DO NOT recommend this restaurant. These young kids working there do NOT care at all about the customers and mind you neither does the Manager. She came to us 1 time and never saw her again. A while ago i came here. 45 minute wait for food. Alfredo pasta dish came out ice cold in center. Waitress was nice and took it back and i had to wait another 20 min for them to heat it up while my friend ate her food in front of me. No discount on inconvenience or apologies from manager. Went in with my companions and were not served properly AT ALL. Drinks were slow to be received and wrong. We were seated for about an hour with no service while other patrons that arrived AFTER US were served drinks AND food!! Part of the menu was unavailable with the excuse that the Easter rush cleaned them out. I will NEVER return. Perhaps the Applebee's in Wilmington was closed for the same reason? food was good, good late night deals on apps, our server, was very inattentive and did not check on us for almost 25 mins after our entree came out. we sat without eating until then waiting on boxes and a check as we were in a hurry. spoke with the manager and she apologized and said she would speak with her about the situation, but offered no resolution to our issues and simply told us to have a good night. both me and my partner work as servers and deal with these issues all the time and we believe the way this was handled was extremely unprofessional and did not live up to any sort of food service standard we have ever experienced personally. you really get what you pay for here. the managers name was Bree and the server never introduced herself. read more

Worst Applebees EVER. Wish I didn't have to give a star. The service is so slow, did an online curbside order for a soup and a salad that took over 45 minutes after it was said to be done. The poor guy at curbside apologized like 5 times and was really nice so I feel bad, may this 1 star go to him! The Total came out to $17.15 and this is what I have to show for it. The onion soup: was barely there, it was 2 tablespoonfuls and if you add half the bread or cheese it's one bite due to how fast it absorbs. The sip we did get of soup was really good but the portion size is ACTUALLY RIDICULOUS. The oriental chicken salad: was literally almonds and crunchy noodles, we could only count the amount of lettuce on one hand. We tried the Applebees in Leland NC today ( December 16, 2024). The one in Wilmington closed months ago. The staff that was working today were absolutely perfect ! They were very friendly and mindful of everything we ordered. I would recommend this Applebees to anyone! It was well worth the drive from rocky Point NC. My recent experience at Applebee's was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the restaurant was almost empty, and yet, when we asked to be seated in the bar dining area, the hostess informed us we couldn't be seated there for at least 30 minutes due to a "shift change." This was frustrating, as there was clearly plenty of space, and it felt unreasonable to make us wait just because of scheduling. The hostess was neither accommodating nor understanding, and she seemed completely unwilling to make any effort to help us. Her tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which only added to our frustration. Despite the empty restaurant. We went as a family still in uniforms ro celebrate my sons soccer win. I ordered the new BACON burger and there was absolutely no bacon anywhere on my sandwich. Sick of spending money at these resturant and not getting everything in the pick up order, treat the pick up order as if I'm dining in! I waited 10 minutes to be seated and were visibly dead, I said something to the manager that seated us, and was like" I didn't realize you guys were here to be seated", isn't that common sense? I'm waiting in front of the host stand, I even waived him on, he visibly saw me, but made an inherit lie. Beth was an amazing server when we came in for an early dinner. She was super attentive with me and my little. Our food was just as advertised. I felt the kids meal was a great deal and my daughter ate it up (helps it was Kraft mac and cheese and that's a staple for her). Over all it was a nice quiet lunch for us. read more

This particular Applebees restaurant is very poorly managed and I will not be returning though I live nearby and typically like Applebees. I recently went in on a holiday around 4 pm and I was told my wife and I could not be seated until after the shift change which would take about 10 minutes, and the restaurant was only about one third full. After waiting more than 25 minutes and 8 others customers came in an were told the same thing, I finally left as did 4 other customers. read more

If you like the Applebee's chain, you won't be disappointed with the one in Leland. As with most chain resturants, the decor is very familiar as is the menu. Whatever your favorite Applebee's dish was when you lived in another state, you will find it here at your local Applebee's. It's like going home. Nothing super fancy... it's just what it is and that's a good thing. Sometimes it's nice to get what you expect without all of the frills and thrills. The Leland property is clean, the staff seem well trained and the overall service is what is expected. And this is where the rubber meets the road in these types of restaurants. If you have seen the other reviews where there are comments that the food was bad, it usually boils down to one or two specific kitchen staff slacking and being tolerated, where there are comments about the service being poor, it usually boils down to one or two particular wait staff being less than customer oriented and being tolerated. Overall, my experience with staff has been a positive. Yes, the food quality can be hit or miss at times. One really big negative! I agree that the air conditioning at this location is out of control. It is always at full blast and there doesn't seem to be a remedy even though staff try to accommodate seating you in different areas. As for the chain, Applebee's is one of my favorites. Would I go back? Yes, but I have to be prepared to freeze. For this reason, I don't go as often as I might like. read more

This Applebees sucks. The first time I ordered here to-go it said my order was ready... I ended up waiting an additional 30 mins for it to be prepared. Now, I ordered an hour ahead of time (it said it would take 20 mins to be ready....leaving them an additional 40 mins) in hopes I didn't have to wait.... and when I went to pick it up they accidentally gave my $107 worth of food to another person. My husband and I went last night to Applebee's in Leland. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive and friendly. Her name was KK. I ordered the classic burger and fries and both were very good. My husband ordered the rack of ribs with fries and coleslaw. He said the ribs tasted good but were overcooked so they were a little tough for him to eat. He said he used to love the ribs there but his last two times ordering them they had been overcooked. Other than that the visit was a pleasant one. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to have a nice dinner date together, and from the experience we encountered we will most certainly not be back again. After our waitress took our drink order we waited a good minute to actually get the drinks and she didn't come back around to refill them until our food had came out, then proceeds to ask if we wanted refills... when you haven't come to check on us and our cous are full of nothing but ice... it makes you think. When our food came out, the only thing that was warm was my steak. My boyfriend's fries were just completely cold. (Not that this is necessary the waitress fault) but I didn't mention nor did she ask me what size steak so I had received the 6oz steak which was a little disappointing when you're hungry and having to wait what felt like forever. The service and food was terrible and there was no rush or busy time from what it appeared to be. There was plenty of floor staff, however I have no clue what the back of house staff looked like. We had told our waitress we just wanted boxes because our food was cold and all she had said was "oh no. Is there anything else I can do for you guys". When a bartender cares more about pouring off-duty staff and her friends shots and drinks than the regulars, then it's time to say that is the last time I will go to Applebees on a Friday night. My husband went to the Applebee's in Leland NC to get our favorite dishes for dinner. He has gone there many times instead of doing it online but this day he was told there were no to-go orders being done. We ended up getting pizza but I thought that experience was weird. I then called and spoke to the Manager Melissa who said very rudely, that she told my husband they weren't doing any to go orders and no carside either. I asked how would anyone know this? She said the website wouldn't allow you to place the order. I then said to her she didn't need to be rude. She said she answered my question and after that she hung up on me. Well she lied because right after that I went online to see if I could place an order with carside. You know what happened I was able to place the order. The system went all the way to the end and was looking for payment when I pulled back. Needless to say we won't go back to that restaurant. I would rather go out of my way, even to Myrtle Beach, SC, before I walk back to that restaurant. I also did an online complaint with their corporate office. read more

Absolutely the worst Applebees!!!! We always go in fingers crossed but the customer service is horrible in the bar area, we go to relax and watch sports but you are completely ignored by all bar staff. We just sat there almost 15 minutes without any acknowledgement at all. Plenty of staff walking around with 2 behind the bar. If you're a regular, family or staff is the only way to get service and one blonde bartender has the most unfriendly & sour face we have ever seen in a customer service environment (never seen her smile all the times we've been there) with Leland growing fingers crossed for a better restaurant of this type read more

Two friends and myself came for lunch. The atmosphere was fine, the hostess took us to a table right away and provided menus.
