They have a variety of seating options, including some group-friend booths. On my last visit, I sat at the bar and ordered a flight of beer. Tony the bartender was very patient with my request for a flight of local beer with no IPAs or hoppy beers. He picked out: 2: Wrightsville Beach Orange Crush, 3. Waterline Kolsh, 4. Teaches Peaches, 1. Watermelon Dragon Fruit Burst. I was familiar with the first three and loved them. I jokingly refer to Wrightsville Beach Orange Crush as creamsicle beer. It isn't too sweet, but the Orange flavor is quite strong. The Waterline Kolsh is light and very easy to drink. The Teaches Peaches is one of my favorites due to its light fruity flavor. The Watermelon Dragon Fruit Burst was a wildcard in Tony's lineup. This sour was a refreshing way to mix up my beer tasting. My friend also got a flight and didn't like one of the beers he chose. Tony swapped it out for a different beer as soon as I told him and the new one was well-received. My favorite part of this visit was that Tony decided to bring me a sample of the 8. Firestone Walker Mind Haze, because it was a non-hoppy IPA and he thought I might like it. It wasn't my fave, but I really appreciated the opportunity to try something new. I snacked on free popcorn all during my visit. The popcorn machine is in the back. Also in the back are single-stall restrooms. Tavern Law has an A+ in my book because they have great local beer on tap and they are gay friendly.

They boast about having the largest selection of whiskey and from the looks of the bar, I believe them! The burger was nothing short of spectacular. I watched him carry out a large 15-20 gallon white plastic bucket from the back and dump it into the open top ice cooler ( Ice used to fill our glasses). The bucket looked like they used it for literally anything other than human consumption. It was covered in dirt and stains & looked like it had been stored outside in the alley as it's permanent home. I told the guys not to drink their water. We were still waiting for the waiter to acknowledge that we were ready to order but he kept walking around too busy to acknowledge we were still there. I was willing to give the food a try because my son said he'd eaten there a hand full of times. After 10-15 minutes of being ignored ( waiter walked past our table, headed towards the empty front tables, sat down and started combining catsup bottles). At that point we all looked at each other and decided they weren't interested in our business and honestly, we weren't interested in getting salmonella so we got up and headed toward the door. Not one staffer said a word or acknowledged we were there. It was hot and we were hungry so we walked into subway next door, ordered and walked back to my sons apartment on river walk. Crappy standards and terrible service. Can't speak about the food but based on the other factors, we probably dodged a bullet.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS DISCRIMINATION FROM BARTENDERS AND STAFF Walked in to this place to grab a drink while I waited for an Uber after visiting friends. I have been living out of country for the last two years in Asia and figured I stop in and say hi to The bartenders that I assumed still worked there. Instead after I ordered what would've been my first drink of the night Katie Melpier the friend of a girl I used to talk to asked me if I was such and such. At first I didn't know what she was talking about because it had been so long and I'm engaged now. But soon realized who she was talking about and said yes. She then immediately told me I need to leave. I told her she has no right to tell me I can't be there just because she doesn't like me and that it is also cut and dry discrimination if she was to proceed with this. At this point she had the bouncers come over and also what I assume where her friends who had clearly been drinking come over. I stood up from my seat because at this point I felt threatened and told them to not touch me that I've done nothing wrong and also by law bouncers are not allowed to even touch you. They're supposed to call law enforcement unless I'm an immediate threat. Then all of them which was probably about 4-5 people grabbed me and proceed to physically and roughly remove me. Which technically by law is also assault. She also had them call the police during this. Once the police arrived I walked over to them on my own consent to try to get some kind of justice out of this. But who was I to believe that Wilmington PD give a care to proper justice. They just assume I've been drinking and go with whatever they tell them, typical. If I wasn't flying back to Asia in those next few days I would've went and filed assault charges on your staff members and sued this place for discrimination, which I guess technically I still can within the next two years after the incident. I told this story to my friends and was immediately told about a situation where my friend was using the bathroom once and a guy tried grabbing his penis and pulled a knife on him when he shoved the guy away from him. Apparently my friend was then told he had to leave and that the guy who tried to grab his crotch was told he was good and could stay because one of the bouncers knew him. Haha what a joke! I hope the owner reads these reviews and realizes he should start hiring better employees. Or else the only customers you're going to get will end up being cheap overly drunk college kids. This place used to be a good spot to avoid this kind of behavior when I lived in Wilmington which is why I went there. Not anymore!. read more

The fact that mid cut curly headed management or so called management didn't deal with a so called habitual trouble making "" regular red headed barely bearded santa Claus hooded ,wearing glasses and a rain deer red sweater who dispensed my drink and it's mate acting obtrusive and disreputable. Even though they have signs up, tape on the floors, and even bars at the bar, there is no social distancing elsewhere. Folks from different "parties" gather next to each other with no masks. They're not sitting, just standing and mingling with no masks. Folks are not social distancing and the staff (even when alerted) do not enforce six feet between folks nor masks. I like dive bars, but this shiznit is for trash. Way to keep the stereotype alive, husk. read more

My favorite bar downtown, that isn't called the goat and compass. Busy on the weekends but so is everywhere worth going too. Hot dogs are a nice little surprise. Great microbrew selection easily listed on the wall with a price, with is unusual. read more

This is where we eventually ended up at. Since there was a tournament going on, and the US World Cup match was die to begin at 8p, a ton of tables were what reserved. And no doubt why, their main screen is a big a a house!!. My girlfriend enjoyed their Strawberry Limeade slushie, which she enjoyed immensely. My mother had the Mexican Lager Athletic (meh, she said), and I tried two flights (5 choices) - having to try all 6 of their IPAs (the hot honey one was by far my favorite), 2 of their fruity beers and then 2 of their darker choices. To be honest, the IPAs, save the hot honey, all tasted similar. The fruity ones edged on sour but were not overly puckering. And the porters ended the meal nicely. Food wise, the grilled chicken pita was massive! Could have filled two smaller pitas with the same amount of chicken. The grilled salmon was made well, and with a yummy side of hushpuppies. I had the Ahi-Tuna Wrap, with no cucumbers - basically it was a sushi roll, but in a wrap. The cucumber-Wasabi dressing though was PHENOMENAL!!!!! I had to order an additional cup of it bc it was THAT GOOD. (come to find out it comes pre-made by Lan's, which is on Amazon - now I can enjoy it at home!). Service was good. And the warehouse ceiling is sound proofed, so noise doesn't bounce everywhere. Great experience. Would definitely some back again!!
