If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This location is an absolute joke. Based on my last visit, I can't give you a review of the food, because my order was never taken. Hell, I couldn't tell you how the water tastes because I was never asked what I wanted to drink. Walked in there with my fiance and sat in the bar area. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come and wipe our table down. The server said she would be back with silverware. I then watched her disappear to the kitchen, come back out, and wipe down other tables. Thought that was strange. After waiting an additional 10 minutes, we just decide to go sit at the bar. Wait at the bar for a couple minutes, then the bartender comes up to us and wipes down the bar area and walks away. Doesn't ask what we want to drink or if we want to look at menus. He goes to the kitchen too. We wait for him to come out, which he does, 10 minutes later, then goes back into the kitchen. At that point, we realized that we were stupid for thinking we'll get something to eat and drink at a restaurant. I could have applied for Applebee's franchise, interviewed staff, planned a grand opening, and get food from there in a shorter amount of time. Unacceptably poor service. Will never go back there again. If you want to eat food and get something to drink, don't go to this location. Must not want anyone to dirty up the tables they spend all day wiping down. read more

The food was tasty, the service started out slow but got better. The troubling part: I was there from 7 pm to 9 pm on a Friday evening. The manager had her 2 young sons seated in a booth eating, playing, stretched out on the bench, shoes off. The children entertained themselves, occasionally interacting with the person in the next booth while their mother sat with friends and then returned to her work duties. She sat down with them to eat her dinner and then went back to work. It was sad to see the children there all that time, mostly alone. I know their mother could always see (except when she went to the kitchen) but they appeared unsupervised. It was unsettling and distracted me from fully enjoying my meal. Today was the worst. Waitress greeted me and my guess, took our drink orders 20 minutes later we received our hot tea. It gets better, order main meal received the salad after another 20 minutes, ask for more dressing received that after 10 minutes, received main course after 20 minutes from the salad, a simple hamburger no condiments, refused to ask for them because I know it's going to take another 10-20 minutes for ketchup. Asked for the manager and to go boxes because now the food is ruined and I have condiments at home. No manager, no to go boxes after another 7minutes. I go to get the manager myself to get my receipt and to go boxes. Manager offered nothing no even and apology for all the delays, however she sent the check over. I paid, LEFT NO TIP and I am a good tipper. I understand the time we are living in and that staff is short but that amount of time is not understandable. Instead of the waitress completing my simple request she continued to take other orders which made her forget the little things we needed. BY FAR MY WORST EXPERIENCE. Try at your own risk. Horrible customer service. Our waitress was slow and unprofessional. I believe her name was Lissa S. It took her a while to take our order, but when she did, she pulled her order pad out of a crown royal pouch! I knew from that moment that she was going to be a problem. One of my friends ordered the chicken portobello but they gave him steak. When we told her that it was wrong, she tried to argue with us that it was chicken and I quote "That's how it's supposed to look" It's sad when you work in the food industry and can't tell the difference between poultry and beef! We ended up calling the 1-800 number to complain and received $10 gift cards. I will never go back to the Largo location again! read more

So nice that when my friends and I graduated high school back in '02, our families took us all out to dinner here. I also remember going here to celebrate getting my driver's liscense when I was 16 AND this is where I ate dinner on my first, official date.*** It took us almost three hours for a party of four on a Friday night to get food. Now keep in mind, the place was by NO MEANS packed. If they have 30 tables, I'd say 7 were filled with small parties like ours. The bar only had a hand full of people. I don't feel they were understaffed because there were several waitresses hanging around the front laughing and saying mean things about some other server who apparently is a "loser" because she's in her late 20s, lives at home with her mom and can't drive a car. Yes, real classy ladies...putting down a coworker right in front of the customers. I'm not saying you have to love everyone you work with, believe me I talk about people at work too, but I do it AWAY from our clients. Anyhow, we had a very nice, though inattentive waitress. She seated us around 6:00 and came back almost 15 minutes later to take our DRINK order. After another 15 minutes she came back with our sodas and took our food orders. We each ordered simple stuff -- cheesestick appetizer and burger entree for hubby, chicken and rice for me, burger for my brother, and soup and a salad for my sister. 30 minutes later, the appetizer arrives and seeing us all sucking on ice cubes, the waitress days she'll bring back refills. After 10 minutes, my brother got tired of waiting, and finally flagged down another server and who bought us refills. Another 40 minutes later and everyone's entree arrived except my sister. We all waited like 5 - 8 minutes and no sign of her soup and salad. We flagged down the hostess who apologized and said the kitchen was "backed up" (even though the people around us hadn't gotten their food either) and she'd bring out a salad. 10 more minutes and sis FINALLY gets her salad. It's supposed to be caesar but they've drowned it in so much salad dressing the leaves are kinda wilted and slimy. Sis is picking at her salad when our waitress arrives a minute later with another HUGE caesar salad that is just as gross. 15 more minutes go by and sister's onion soup FINALLY materializes. Everyone else is down eating, so we all order desert shooters so that we can at least kind of eat together. Another 20 minutes later, the dessert shooters arrived. Everyone is in a foul mood by that time. The only redeeming factor is the waitress DID at least apologize and say that there was a problem in the kitchen...apparently the cooks weren't making food in the right order and they were backed up. (even though they had a full staff and a little bit of customers...hmm...) After that experience, hubby has flat out refused to return. When we want burgers, we do McDonalds or Ruby Tuesdays. *Note: I would not recommend this Applebee's for carryout either. After giving Applebee's a break between 2005 - 2011 due to poor dining experience and the fact the place kept smelling weird (like mildew and old cooking oil), I started getting the food to go since the 2 for $20 is such a great deal. Hubby and I liked it at first. The to-go service was decent...our food wasn't hot when we picked it up, but at least it was prepared within 20 minutes and almost always correct. Nevermind the pressure to leave the person who takes your phone order a tip. (Until we complained to the manager, whoever took your phone order would always end the call with, "That'll be $34.52 after tax and BEFORE tip." And heaven help you if you didn't tip them...sucked teeth, rolled eyes, dirty looks..) Anyhow, something changed because the last three times hubby and I ordered and went to pick it up, the food wasn't ready and we had to wait another 10 - 20 minutes. Keep in mind they'll give us a time like, "5:35" so we wait and leave the house around 5:40, get there by 5:50 and we're told, "Oh, your food ain't ready yet. They still cooking the chicken/hamburger/putting together the salad." So we'd stand in the little waiting area w/the other people waiting for the food. read more

I gave two stars because of location and the food/deals aren't bad. Don't expect much and don't go hungry if you decide to visit. The wait is long (even though they're not crowded), some waiter's can't seem to get it together (don't listen, you have to repeat yourself, hardly ever come back for follow-up, take a long time to take orders, don't relay issues to manager so you're repeating yourself), the brown skin female manager with natural hair need to quit (she doesn't act like she want to be there, don't know how to handle a business/customer's, have poor customer service skills). Don't waste your time with this location. After I got off from work on Friday, I didn't feel like cooking so I decided that we could eat out. Now normally we would hit up Friday's or Outback but this time, everyone else wanted to try something new so we went to the Applebee's in Largo. Now I'm thinking its Friday, so I'm expecting a wait but it was empty. That should have been the first sign. There is no way this place should have been empty at 740-8ish on a Friday. We go in and get seated immediately. My son is immediately excited because of the games at the table so I'm pleased with that. We were sitting in a section where it was five other tables that were full. Two of those tables was full, one was waiting for a check and the other two were waiting for drinks and apps. Now there's only one server in this section. I know she saw when the hostess sat is down because I looked her dead in her face when she came to get the check from the one guy who was leaving. It took her 20 whole mins from the time we sat down to even acknowledge that we were there!! So now I'm pissed and ready to walk out of there and my family is like no, let's eat here, maybe she's new. Okay fine. So then she finally comes over and says oh I know your hungry so let's get started with the drink. There no hi no welcome no apology so I'm really really angry at this point. You have me waiting and you have the nerve to have an attitude now?? Oh yeah I'm definitely pissed. My boyfriend orders the meals because I don't want to talk cause he knows Ima fly off the handle. I expect at least some type of customer service considering I'm about to give you my money. So she takes the drinks and the orders and goes to the next table. Fifteen mins pass before we even get the drinks. I'm so angry that even my son is saying this was a bad idea. The drinks come and they were good. The strawberry lemonade made me calm down a bit until the food came. Low and behold, she got a real funky attitude now cause she just sats the plates down and walk off. Oh I'm ready to get the manager at this point cause this is down right piss poor service. My boyfriend is like calm down, we got the food so just eat so we can go and never come back. Okay fine. I agree and look down at my food. He had literally like big chunks of roasted veggies like they just cut it in half and threw it on the plate. Imagine cutting a pepper in half and just putting one half on a plate. My steak was sooooo small that I literally could put the whole steak in my mouth. My son was content with his food tho. So I got the waitress attention after she kept side eyeing and dodging my table as walked by. I complained about the food and the lack of cheese and butter and dressing for my baked potato to which she never addressed after I complained about the food. This review is only for the to-go services... When it's getting late in this part of town, you do not have too many choices of places to eat. In this shopping center you have McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Applebee's. With these choices Applee's becomes the place you convince yourself to eat. The best thing about this location is that you order from a to-go counter (similar to BWW). It normally takes about 15 minutes and you are on your way. I always check my food before I leave, but so far my order has always been correct (knock on wood). read more

The wait time wasn't to long, however I think the patron in front of me was becoming a little aggrevated. I will say the young man working the window did ask if he'd like something to drink he replied with I want my order... I take it he was waiting a good while.. Anywho, I've been wanting this meal for some time so I was ready to dive in. Get home husband download the food there's no extra sauce. It can only be extra if there's some already on the food or on the side. We visited Applebee's Sunday, Aug 28th, the day after hurricane Ireane. There was no wait and it wasn't busy. I ordered steak and eggs from the brunch menu and the eggs came back looking like they were cooked in some sort of dark teriaki sauce or just cooked too long and not scrambled at all but folded over. The manager told us this is how they cook their eggs and it wouldn't be any different if they were cooked again. The waitress gave us our drink order and we didn't see her for the next 30 mins. No water, no refils, no attention. My food came out before my childs food who only had pancakes and bacon. Overall, it was a very bad meal and the service was horrible. read more

This place was horrible. The heat wasn't working in this place. Workers were walking are with coats on. I ordered the gdazed salmon with the garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The salmon look like it was precooked and thrown in the microwave, the mashed potatoes were gummies and plastic looking and my coleslaw was warm. As for y date , his 8oz steak was warm on the outsideside cold on the insde, his mashed potatoes was gummie and looked as if it was made from boxed mashed with some room temperature potatoe tots on them. The meal was horrible, that I will never recommend anyone to visit here. Our waitress was not at fault and we still tipped her. My experience was the exact same as the reviewer who stated that they were seated and never approached by a waiter, except the restaurant was empty. My bf and I came here one evening for dinner and to have a drink. We go inside and are immediately seated, which was nice because there weren't many people in the restaurant eating. We sat across from a family with their adorable child and watched as the waitress they had continually checked on them, walking past us each time. Not one time did ANYONE check on us. We were sitting right behind the hostess who even looked at us a couple times and never said anything. I even called for the waitress on the electronic device they put at the tables and still no one came. Now, I worked in food service for 5 1/2 years previously and I know good customer service so when I don't receive it, it upsets me. There we only two tables on my side with people at them, including mine and only about 3 or 4 other tables with customers in the whole damn restaurant. Before I got anymore upset, My bf and I left. You know, the hostess had the nerve to say "no one came to your table?!" As we were leaving out. I will never return to this location again. read more

Holy Cow, where do I start with this review? In my 45 years of existence this is probably the worst service I have received for any kind of business, not just a restaurant. The first issue started right away with the computerized ordering device that didn't work and our waitress, whose name she failed to give, was incompetent beyond belief. But first, we ordered drinks and one of them was a large draft Coors Light which I have been drinking for the past 20 years. I knew right away that it was not a Coors Light based on the color of the beer but I said whatever I will drink it anyway because I was very thirsty after a long day of work. Still waiting for our waitress to tell us whether our order was in or not because the device had malfunctioned, we hit the help button again and another gentleman helped us, not our waitress. He said that our order was in and then we proceeded to order another drink. I said that I would like a Coors Light and please make sure that it is Coors Light. I received a second beer and again it was not Coors Light and they insisted that it was. At this point I'm just laughing and thinking, whatever I will drink it because it will take 20 minutes longer to get another one and it will not be right anyway. Our appetizers start arriving and we have no silverware and no plates and our waitress is sitting in the corner with her back to us the entire time. The only bright light to this night was the host, whose name I did not get, but I made sure to treat him well. He was doing the job of the waitress and apologizing left and right. You could clearly see that he was embarrassed. This next part you cannot make up as it is clearly the weirdest thing that has happened in a restaurant that I've ever seen. Our food arrives, all at different times, and the coworker that is traveling with me ordered the steak with mushrooms and onions and garlic mashed potatoes. He receives some kind of chicken and shrimp with greens and the kicker of this all is that he is allergic to poultry. As soon as the second server presented it, we all knew at the table that it was chicken and we told the server that it was chicken and he claims, no that is steak. Can you imagine if my friend started eating the chicken, what may have happened? All this time our waitress, who supposedly put the order in, is still sitting in the corner texting and doing God knows what. The host takes the chicken away and takes it back to the kitchen and 20 minutes later brings back a steak and once again tries and save the night. When he comes back I then order a bottle of Coors light. A third waiter returns with another draft of what appears to be the same beer that I've been drinking and I refuse it but they say they have no Coors light bottles so then I say I will just go thout a drink. We try one last time to summon our waitress and she looks at our table with disgust and comes by and inserts some employee card into the electronic device and rudely punches in some buttons, we have no idea what she was doing, and then leaves the table without saying a word. At this point I'm looking for cameras because I am thinking we are on a reality TV show that is about the rudest and strangest things that can happen in a restaurant but there are no cameras that I can see. We decided we need to get out of there because something epic was probably going to happen next but before we leave we noticed that there are all sorts of charges on our bill that we did not either order or that we did not receive including the bottle of Coors light that they didn't have and the unknown draft beer that I returned because it was indeed not a Coors Light. The host actually got the manager to come to our table and he reversed the two charges and asked how everything else went and we all just laughed, he looks at us in a weird way, but then just walks away. It is the first time in my life that I left a zero tip and I actually should have demanded some kind of a refund because it was so unbelievably bad. I kept Covid in mind and thought maybe the B team was working tonight so whatever. I would like to try to get of hold of the franchise owner and explain what happened but I also would just like to move on with my life. Good Day read more

It was such a rough day and we were coming in from a long day at 6 Flags, and we found Applebee's along the way. We decided to give into our starving bellies and what a LONG wait it was for three. But that's ok because it was a Saturday night. Anyways the food was ehhhh, the drinks were ehhhhh, but the service was PHENOMENAL. When we first arrived and was seated we had to ask for the music to be turned down. It was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other talk and we were right next to each other. Then we were trying to enjoy dinner and there's a guy (who seems to be an employee who is off the clock) sitting at the table behind us with his daughter. I'm guessing another employee who also seems to be off the clock, approaches him about him taking his daughter to use the men's room. He begins to get LOUD and every other word out of his mouth is "f**k you" or "why the f**k you worried about it for" all while he's holding his young child!! Thank goodness my family and I were almost done with our meals cause his behavior was atrocious.
