Have now ordered from them TWICE and, on both occasions, they did not include HALF of our meals!!! First time was pick-up. So, my husbands fault for not checking the bags she brought out to the car. Not that he would have known anyways that the burger container did not include fries in it. But when you order and PAY for a BURGER & FRIES, you expect to receive just that. Not just a burger. Same with CRUNCHY SHRIMP & FRIES. Not rectifying the situation is THEFT. I paid for BOTH, not one. Guest Relations sent the immediate generic response email and said they would follow up. NOTHING for the instance on 3/19. Filed another complaint tonight for today. Location has currently left me on hold for 28 minutes and still counting while they "find a manager." If I could give this place a ZERO, I would in a heartbeat. We are NEVER coming back! Upon walking in I was able to see the restaurant had undergone some renovations. It was nice. The server was nice and accommodating in the beginning. Appetizers (mozzarella sticks also spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips) came out fairly quick. Both were delicious! Our food came out about 8 minutes later, my chicken was cold as with my daughter's garlic mashed potatoes. My daughters 6 ounce steak was also hard. The server didn't come back for another 5-8 minutes. I told her about my daughter's food and also my food. She didn't take the plates back, just brought me new chicken that was still luke warm (cheese wasn't melted on it), my daughter's steak wasn't replaced, but her garlic mashed potatoes were warmer than the first. Sadly, I didn't eat most of my meal because of the chicken just being luke warm and by the time the chicken had come, the rice on my plate was cold. She didn't come back after "dropping off food and running" again for another 20 minutes. No manager came to the table to apologize, no comp meal...NADDA. It's sad because this restaurant several years ago was good. Had I not gotten a gift card for this establishment for Christmas, I wouldn't have ever returned. We believe in giving establishments the benefit of the doubt after long periods of time. Sadly, this place isn't worth it anymore. Came on a Sunday night with the restaurant just about dead when I walked in. Was told the wait would be 15-20 mins and wound up waiting 30 due to being "short staffed", although there was a male employee with long red hair doing literally nothing but standing around and talking to the hostess the entire time I was there. The server was okay, but it took another 30 minutes just to get the appetizer. Our food came out shortly after that. There was less than 10 tables in the whole restaurant by the time we left, and the bartender must have been overwhelmed because she stormed off and locked the front door well before the scheduled closing time. We were stunned by the bad reviews that were left here long ago. It seemed that based on our recent experience here, they improved their methods of providing service to their hungry patrons. We came on a Saturday night at around 6pm. We expected to wait for a maximum of 15 minutes. If there was a longer waiting period, then we would have patronized another restaurant on US-30. However, when we walked in, we were immediately seated at a booth. After a 7-minute wait, our waitress came by and took our drink orders. Because we were all ready to order, she took our food orders as well. Everytime we go to Applebee's, we always share on the "2 For $20" deal. This is because the amount of food available with this offer was enough to share with three people, and of course to take home as leftovers too. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. Miraculously, as soon as I came out, our appetizer was right there! We've always loved Applebee's Mozzarella Sticks. These were delivered hot and fresh to our table, and the appearance never revealed the sign that they were frozen before. The coating was crispy with scattered seasoning and the inside was gooey with a lot of cheese. The marinara dipping sauce contained a lot of flavor, and was hot as well. Dipping those delicious sticks in the marinara sauce resulted in a very tasty combination. Oh yeah. As we were finishing up the Mozzarella Sticks, our two shareable entrees came out. The first one was the Oriental Chicken Salad. This consisted of lettuce mixed with carrot strips, crispy noodles, toasted almonds and fried chicken (grilled chicken option was available at an additional cost). Of course this was all mixed in with a light dressing. This appeared fresh and tasted delicious. Our other entree was the Three Cheese Chicken Penne. This was made up of penne pasta mixed with Alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. Various cheeses and mini tomato cubes were placed on top of the pasta. Of course we can't forget about the additional bread-stick. This tasted really good, and we ended up taking some of this home. Lastly, dessert. Almost every time we come to Applebee's, we order their mini dessert shooters. We ordered two Strawberry Cheesecake and one Chocolate Mousse dessert shooters. The Strawberry Cheesecake shooter was simply made up of a basic cheesecake with strawberry sauce and whipped cream. The other shooter contained Oreo cookie pieces on the bottom, a mound of chocolate mousse, and whipped cream on top. Both of those shooters were tasty, and much better than eating a big slice of cake for dessert. Our waitress had a pleasant attitude throughout our experience. The service was speedy at times, which was good. Overall, this was an excellent experience. We'll probably patronize this location again if we ever return to the Lancaster area. read more

While visiting this location, on a Friday night, it was quite busy. Our waiter for the most part was pretty attentive, friendly, and seemed to stay on top of drinks. For as busy as this location was, the food seemed to come out very quickly. Our boneless wings were on the luke warm side when we received them though, but were fully cooked. We had both gotten the 4 cheese mac and cheese, which was overall not bad, a little on the bland side, and you could not really taste the different cheeses throughout. Came here for the 4th of July weekend. Didn't have a really great visit because of the absurd waiting time. I know they are understaffed but you would think that they would at least have a few more staff for the season. The staff was amazing though at waiting on us. The food was okay, but I've seen better at other Applebees. If you are looking for a quick bite I would avoid going here and maybe trying something local. My husband and I dined here tonight. This was our first time at this particular location, and will definitely be the last. When we pulled into the parking lot around 9pm, there were about 10 cars total. Upon entry, there were just a few tables filled in the whole restaurant, and a few more people at the bar. We were told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes due to being short staffed. Several families walked in after us, and I heard the hostess tell them all different time frames. One party was told 45 minutes!! I couldn't help but laugh because it was almost 9:30pm on a Sunday night, and the restaurant was practically dead. We wound up finally being sat at our table after waiting for 30 minutes. Our server, Melissa, was nice, but you could tell she was stressed out. It took a while to get drinks, and our appetizer took 30 minutes to come out. During this time, I was focusing my attention on the bartender who was being pretty rude to customers, and had a terrible expression on her face the entire time. At one point, she even stormed off and angrily locked the front door so no new patrons could come in. It was still over an hour before their scheduled closing time. She was trying to wrap the bar up early and basically told the patrons sitting there they had to go. Our food came out shortly after the appetizer, and it tasted in line with every other Applebee's I've been to. My chicken quesadilla tasted like it was cooked in old oil, but it was edible. The key point to this review is that I'm not sure how this establishment stays in business when they willingly deter patrons from dining here, and don't hire staff to combat their labor shortage as it appears by other reviews, this is standard practice for them. Another thing I don't understand is that the entire time I was in the restaurant, there was a male employee with long red hair just standing around.. He was chatting with the hostess, standing with his arms crossed by the front door, etc. I'm not sure what his job title is, but he was literally doing nothing the entire time.. kind of ironic. To begin, I called 10 mins before arriving to see how long the wait time was and I was told 35 mins and he did inform me that we had to arrive in person to get on the waitlist which is not a problem. But, when I arrive to check in I was told 45-60 mins wait because they were understaff which I understand. Finally got seated and ordered our drinks and food but food came out and my Mac and cheese was more watery then my fish tank at home and not to forget food was cold. My partner burger was broken into pieces and it looked like there try to fix it by adding melted cheese to keep it together. I'm also not going to mention the awful service we received from the bar tender either, considering she had only 4 other patrons and chose to do simple small tasks before helping us. We arrived around 730 pm to a mostly empty restaurant. No one greeted us at the door so we preceded to the bar. We sat at two empty chairs next to a pile of dirty dishes which had clearly been sitting there for sometime. An angry heavy set blonde bartender told us that she needed to take care of her server's drink first. Ok we just wanted a beer and dinner we would wait. Twenty minutes of watching her grumble and throw things around, we realized let's go. This women clearly should not be in the hospitality business. Finally a girl picks up the line and when I tried to order says only a manager can take a phone order so I would have to wait again. Five minutes later a manager comes on the line to tell me my husband is already there and placed the order. I asked if it was true only a manager could take an on line order and she said yes sometimes. I told her what had happened and she was very snippy and apologized but it was her tone. This particular Applebee's appears to have very poor customer service. My wife and I dined here after 9 pm on a Saturday night and the service was horrendous. Every table around us was complaining about the long waits for drinks and food. I felt bad for the servers because it was the kitchen and the bar holding things up. The place was only about half full. Tables were left with dirty dishes after people had left the restaurant. The servers were stuck in the kitchen waiting on the food to come out so they did not even get refills or bar drink reorders. My friend and I were also cold.We mentioned it to the server and she offered to move us to the next table but we hated to bother her with our issue.The table of 6 next to us where complaining about server orders. As we sat at the booth ready to order our drinks and food, it took at least 15 minutes before our waitress came. We ordered our food which a completely different waitress brought out. We had no plates for our appetizers nor did we have silverware or napkins. During the duration of eating our food, about 30 minutes, our waitress was no where to be seen nor did she come back to check on us. No other waitress came to check on us either. Simply awful ! It's a good thing this place has a great location. We decided to give it one more try after a few year hiatus and during lunch the place was only 30% full. We asked for a booth and several were empty and clean, but the receptionist choose to go and clean off a table at the rear of the restaurant. When we got to the booth I notice the seat where I was to sit had been sliced with a knife and the hole was at least 12" long and 3 to 4 inches wide. Why she chose to give us this seat was beyond belief and I asked and was given a different booth. The service was very slow despite the lack of people and the food was horrible. An unappetizing looking chili with raw onion and green pepper on top was horrible. The steak quesadilla was old and horrible. Boyfriend and I went here on a saturday evening. First of all, it's the middle of January and it felt like the AC was on in the place. Cold breeze the whole time we were eating. The group of hostesses standing right inside the door looked at us when we came in, said nothing to us and continued chatting with each other. It took them at least 3 minutes to seat us (restaurant was NOT crowded and there were clearly open tables). The mozzarella sticks were very good but our entrees were okay at best. My boyfriend ordered ribs. When he received them there was a rib without meat on it. Just a straight up bone already on the plate. Much smaller portion than pictured, there were about 5 small ribs on his plate. ***Temperature of the food was very poor and inconsistent. The mashed potatoes and French fries were COLD while his ribs and my chicken strips were hot.*** We decided against desert as we were very upset at this point. A group of hostesses continued chatting by the door throughout our entire visit, we were close enough to watch the customers forced to wait as they came in.
