My son returned from a long-haul drive, delivering a large stone relic from Nashville to Lancaster. I decided to meet him at what I believe is the last Your Place Restaurant left on Earth. It used to be that YP was all over central PA, and its Stromboli was legendary. I have friends who ask me to order it in advance of their visits, beings across multiple dimensions sing songs of its quality, and it is a mandatory part of a royal feast in the court of at least three demigods. I would have these meetings with clients at the Harrisburg and Hershey locations before they closed, insisting on bacon-cheddar fries and a large 'boli to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. We would attend the buffets to have our fill of the freshly baked pizza and spicy 'bolis with soup. For years, it was a tradition before the last location closed in my area. This location is on Route 30 where traffic from the west goes from 70mph to 30 in about a quarter of a mile. It is located in the tourist zone near Dutch Wonderland and in the parking lot of an economy motel. It opened at 11 on Saturday, and it was just Tennyson and me catching up on life, the universe, and everything, alone in the dining room. We ordered that 'boli and fries. Our server was attentive, friendly, and fun. My glass was never empty, and she sold me on the app to take advantage of special deals and quick pay on the tab. The dining room was dark and quiet. It reminded me of the old Hershey YP that felt like a basement speakeasy. We had our food in a short time, and the legendary 'boli was as I remembered. It seemed smaller, but I imagine that's just me. The bacon-cheddar fries were not as I remembered because the cheese pooled at the bottom of the bowl, runnier than cheesy than I remembered, but still pretty good based on the quality of the fried potatoes and crispy bacon. I can say that it reminded me of visiting an old friend and being reminded of the good times. It's okay that things change because the core is still quality. read more

We were in a hurry and stopped in to get something to eat. We initially sat down in the dining room area, but the server was very busy so we moved to the bar. We ended up getting nachos with brisket and a brisket filled cheese sandwich. Food was outstanding. Our server was Kyleaf. This place is a little rough 'round the edges- awkwardly positioned by a hotel at a busy intersection with staff that give off dive bar vibes, but I genuinely hope they make it (all other locations have closed). Still serving their famous Stromboli- now a third of the size & double the price of what was enjoyed as a kid, but still good- with that signature chewy crust, filled with mustardy, cheesy, spicy sausage & ham. The crab fries were really good, over-seasoned in the best possible way, with lots of melty cheese, a decent smothering of crab dip, & heavy on the Old Bay- a good value & nice serving for the price. From the man who answered the phone, to the waitress who delivered my meal plus some bolis to go, I felt welcomed & cared for which rarely happens when dining alone. Stopped here for takeout last night - I was extremely pleased to be greeted with a very friendly, courteous gentleman who took my order over the phone. He repeated the order back perfectly, and gave a wait time of 25 minutes (impressive, given the amount of food I ordered!) I will say, I am very fond of their boneless wings. Last night, I just wish they were a little bit saucier. Still great tasting though! I love the sweet chili flavor and hot bbq flavors. Their pizza is just okay. When I got inside the dining room it was dark but seemed nice and clean. Was sat right away and offered a drink. The music was really loud for a dining room. I think it's a thin divider between the bar and dining room. The music had speakers in the dining room and I found it loud and off putting. Even the staff had to ask people to repeat themselves a good bit. I was told at the hotel and than again when I arrived the Stromboli was legendary. So I went ahead and ordered that. It arrived a while later with a side of grits. It was small and long more like a long pepperoni roll in my mind. It's been cut into pieces with a side of sauce. It looked okay but seemed wet. Unfortunately it was pretty cold by the time it got to me. The crust was crispy on top and wet on the bottom but hard to get through. Flavor was meh... fine. Was definitely cheaper cuts of meat inside like lunch beach not good quality salami and ham. For the price it was probably okay but I'd or order another. The grits although also just room temperature were pretty good. A touch of jalapeño gave it nice flavor but not too much heat. Texture and consistency were very nice. Well, coming here at dinner time on a weekend, you'd think that the place would be packed, but there were maybe 4 other tables occupied. Our waitress was pleasant, at least. That said, service was very slow in seating us, as well as trying to get refills on our drinks, or even the check to pay the bill. The food was ok. We started with a sampler including mozzarella sticks, pretzel sticks, and garlic knots, all of which were wonderful. The pizza was ok. I just arrived at this place to grab a bite to eat and a beer after driving 4 hours. The waitress cards me as expected, since I am 24, but disappears for 10 minutes and comes back trying to "trick" me into saying I'm under age. After staring at me and saying "What", I say can I get my drink, she looks at me starts accusing me of getting aggressive and says "I don't doing this with you. Just another typical visit to a failing business. I grew up on YP Boli's. Over the years the company has shut down restaurants because they have the same mediocre operator they have had. Here's the problem: The bartenders are terrible. They are more worried about their friends or family than they are promoting the selling of alcohol or food. I sit down (dirty bar in front of me). Ask for a beer. They bring beer and put it down on dirty bar. Had to ask to have it wiped. Bartender made it look like it was a real issue to wipe down. No offer of food or menu. I had to ask. Ordered the best boil in town. Only to realize that they keep shrinking. Seriously, I have eaten bolis for over 35 years and the large are now the size of the minis years ago. Small boil at $15 a pop. If you want some help managing the business and making money, give me a call. I can make many suggestions to make it profitable. The restaurant was not crowded so we weren't sure what the hurry was to get us in and out. we had the stromboli which you can only order one way, a meat lovers pizza and potato soup. The soup was the best part of the meal. The pizza was undercooked and inedible. None of us, party of 4, felt good after we left and 2 people had to basically run to the bathroom. Your Place was the only option we could find in the area. The woman who greeted us was very friendly. The bar was blasting loud country music so we decided to eat in the dining area. Service was very slow even though only 3 other tables were occupied. Our server kept going outside to talk to someone and I think he might have smoked a joint but I can't say for sure. He definitely seemed like he was extra mellow. Buffalo wings were bland. My burger was good but the fries weren't fully cooked. Food took way too long to come out. Would I recommend this place? Unless you need alcohol and want to hang with the sketchy locals I'd say go to the Wawa across the street for a snack. read more

Don't order takeout from here unless you order through DoorDash or Grubhub- they bumped my order 8 times because the food delivery DoorDash and Grubhub take priority.
