We had to wait to be seated for a few minutes but not terribly long. We were seated and then greeted by our server, McKinzie, who was great. She got our drinks while we perused the menu. She brought refills before we even finished our first drinks and we had onion rings delivered very quickly after ordering. The ambiance is a sports bar type decor. Multiple TV's were up and playing a variety of sports and other shows. My food was delivered hot and sizzling. I had the waffle fries with a chicken sautéed with onions and mushrooms and a spicy sauce. It was delicious. My husband had the ribeye, redskin mashed potatoes and broccoli and he also said was a 5 out of 5. We both took home boxes of leftovers. read more

HOWEVER, when I was seated, I was told they werent selling that. I checked my ad, enlarged it.. and sW the fine, fine print: 2020! ‍ Sooo, since I was there and had apologized to me sweet server, I ordered the chicken taco appetizer ( photo, when I find it), which was not only served promptly; but also, was crispy, hot and tasty. The hostess was friendly and immediately sat me at a booth of my choice. Things were looking good. I ordered "bone in" wings as an appetizer and a sirloin 8 ounce, med rare with a water. My wings make it to the table quickly. But these were boneless chicken nuggets, not bone in. Fine, no complaints, they were good. (Still waiting in my water) Sirloin comes out, double broccoli which was green but just a hump of "broccoli leaves", no real broccoli stalks. Fine. I cut directly into the tougher than expected sirloin... It was not pink but it wasn't brown on the inside. It was chewy and tasteless, unfortunately. I thought i could detect a hint of spoiled meat but I chalked it up to being all in my head. I ate it anyways. Waitress was friendly but never checked on my table or refilled my water. For the second time and last time my family has gone to this restaurant. Seems as the hostess said "we have really bad cooks" is very true and also poor management to boot. Both times kitchen has been blamed for not seating anyone for ever. Servers there and available, tables available. This time we had to wait until what little patrons were there had their food or were leaving. Hostess kept saying manager would not let her seat anyone not even at bar stools at actual bar. Came in after a funeral with my brother to get some food and ordered a whiskey sour. The bartender never brought it and was just hanging out with other employees laughing. When our food came I just said whatever and assumed she had forgot and I didn't want the drink this late into the visit. She never came back to check on us and we eventually paid in the kiosk at the table. She brought our receipt and the whiskey sour was on it. Two months ago my husband and I had a meal and our waiter was awful and tried to double charge us. We did not tip him. Yesterday we came in and had lunch with a different waitress ( one we have had since our bad experience). However when the food came out( the ribs) the waiter from our bad experience delivered our food while she watched from the kitchen door. The restaurant was not busy at the time. The food tasted fine but on the drive home and for 24 hours since we have had diarrhea and vomiting. Brought my family in for dinner on 10/20 around 11 pm after the haunted house in Peru (which was awesome). Just 3 of us and when we walked in the hostess tells us there is a 30 minute wait in the kitchen because they have a party. I see empty and clean tables available so I said okay that is fine can we be seated though. She says "Well the thing about that is if I seat you then the waiter will be obligated to serve you and we are really busy!" So she said we had to wait by the door for a half hour, we were the only ones waiting. This is poor service. There are waitress's and waiters who work different sections of the restaurant and empty tables if someone is willing to wait then why not seat them and give them drinks while they wait! Could have been a great tip to make someone's day a lot better considering you literally work for your money when you wait tables! Sad I will NEVER go to that Applebees again. Love their 2 for $20 deal-- especially since they added the option of two salads instead of sharing an appetizer. Hubby and I always get Caesar salads, and he almost always gets the chicken fingers basket (but pays the upcharge for sweet potato fries). Did the curbside to go for the second time. First time last year and vowed not to go back but we thought we would give it another try. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad with two extra breadsticks and also a dinner with a full rack of ribs. Paid 1.99 EACH for the breadsticks and they were hard and inedible. The ceasar salad was good and really liked the dressing. The ribs were so tough my husband or I could not eat them. Even after cutting the meat off with a steak knife it was too tough to eat. I stopped in for a bite after a great day with friends. I ordered the pork chop and requested that it be cooked to a medium. The server look apprehensive and said she would have to ask the manager. In a short bit she came back and said he cook and the manager said no and stated that they had to cook it well done because it was a health code violation to do otherwise. I spoke with the manager while waiting for my server to come back for me to change my order and I explained that there was no health code that prevented them from fulfilling my request. He instantly became defensive and stood over me in a bit of menacing manner. He said that he could tell from my facial expressions that I was angry. I explained that I was just unhappy that I was being told an untrue statement as an excuse. I suggested that he say it's company policy, but he insisted that he was right about the health code. Well Mr. Manager, in may of 2011 the USDA - recommend that pork be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees, 15 degrees cooler than the previous standard. That is about medium in doneness. I was very disappointed. The steak came raw and not medium rare. The riblets, fries and appetizer were all cold. And after having to send it back it did not taste very good. Me and my wife have been to this Applebee's in Kokomo several times we love it there the food is always hot drinks are always ice cold and mixed well and are one of our favorite things about going in there is the waitress's especially Marissa not one time have we ever had to wait on anything when she's waiting on us,its like she is always 2 steps ahead of what we need. I will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon. We ordered a burger plain with cheese, it came out with some nasty sauce on it. When we pointed it out to the waitress she says"plain means no tomato and lettuce" I'm sorry plain is plain. When the new burger came out it had onions peppers and mushrooms hidden under the cheese. The Salmon is always good, service was excellent. They know how to make a good Captain & Coke, and desert this time did not arrive melted as before. In addition to our great server, the General Manager was walking around this afternoon asking if any of the patrons were veterans to thank them for their service and handed out gift cards. The greeter at front by door didn't want to be there and didn't say anything to us, after we requested a booth (which was available) she seemed most put out. No smile and promptly told us to follow the Waitress, who was more concerned about her blue fingernails. Will not bore you with a details account of the evening except to say that anyone who likes Applebee's is either very stupid or naïve or both and the serving staff are morons.
