The waitresses were very polite and friendly. The food is very good and the service is very good

Arrived a few minutes after 12:30 pm on a Monday. A few tables and a few people at the bar. My friend and I were seated at a tall table next to the bar. Atmosphere was typical Applebee's. Place looked clean. A few minutes later our waitress arrived to take our drink orders. My friend already knew what he wanted to drink and order. I ordered a draft beer and needed a few minutes to look over the menu, during which our waitress came back to tell my friend the promotion had changed and so did his options for the appetizer and two for $25. She came back another time after he chose and apologized. They don't tell them when the promotions change. So he made his choices for the third time. By then I was ready to order. I ordered the pretzels and beer cheese appetizer for myself. The burgers were on sale for $8.99 so I ordered a quesadilla burger. My friend got onion rings. Then the upgrade steak and upgrade Fiesta Lime Chicken to go. We waited close to 5 minutes and our appetizers were brought. My buddy said prior he didn't like pretzels. I let him try one with the beer cheese and it converted him. It was delicious. He devoured his onion rings. Another 5 minutes or so and the rest of the food was brought. I could only eat half of the burger, but it was really good! Never had one before and don't regret it. My friend's mom really enjoyed the fiesta chicken. She ate half the steak, too! We just got into town and needed dinner. We managed to slip in before the football game got out. We had one of the most delightful servers. She was bubbly and attentive. I opted for a small sirloin dinner, my husband got a chicken breast dinner. Very simple, and decent. Perfect for what we needed. No not high end but that's not what we were looking for. This is the exact kind of town where Applebees is perfect for. Thank you. read more

Went to Kendallville,IN restaurant this afternoon, the table was so sticky you couldn't slide your plate or glass at all. Went into the bathroom and the floor was so sticky my flip flop stuck and came off my foot. Definitely gives you the feeling that everything is filthy. Don't know what they're doing or not doing but I won't be going back. read more

I ordered the Oriental chicken salad with crispy chicken. There was not one piece of chicken that could be identified. It was almost all crumbles of the costing that had been on chicken. This is always been one of my favorite dishes, no more. read more

This place is the place to be my waiter ( josh) was so nice and I highly recommend getting him as a waiter He did an amazing job and I did not have to wait for anything. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone. I don't understand why it isn't rated higher, therefore I'm trying to give it the credit it deserves for a chain restaurant. read more

We sat for 15 min before the waitress showed up. She then took our drink and food order because we were ready to order after waiting for so long. That was the last time we saw her. Our drinks were empty! Our food was brought out by someone else! We paid on their electronic kiosk because we were tired of waiting for our bill. As we walked out of the restaurant, another lady was complaining of how horrible her services was. As we drove away, we saw a Burger King worker walking home , which was blocks away.... we pulled over and gave him our waitresses tip. read more

Service and product have gone way down. Not as bad as Chili's but pretty bad. Food cold and took forever to get service.

Over the last few years, this restuarant has become a second home to me. I enjoy the variety of food and beverage options the menu offers. The atmosphere allows me to be comfortable and safe during my dinning experience. The staff from the general manager to the hosts welcome the guests as if we were welcoming us into their homes. The Kendallville Applebee's desires a visit next time you're in town. read more

This is a much better Applebee's than your run of the mill locations. I have never been steered wrong with drinks at the bar or dining with my family. Local memorabilia covers the wall, look for some famous faces. read more

Waiter was great even if it was his 4 day. He was nice as had drinks and food as quick as possible. Food was fair but not the best I've had there. Overall a good time to sit and talk even when it was busy. read more

Personally heard the hostess and waitresses talking badly next to table about fellow waitress (so unprofessional). Food was not even as normal as you expect for an Applebee's, it was cold, and tough (I got chicken, my lunch companion got a burger) with poor table service. Seems the waitresses are more concerned with talking about each other and working hard to get customers out so they can get more (this one waitress whom was being pointed at had NO customers being seated in her section by the hostess). I'd expect better from woman that seemed to be at least in their mid to late 20's. I've never been to impressed with Applebee's food but this was the worse yet in my opinion. First off the bartender, Annette, is awesome! I asked for them to adjust the a/c and they did! Customer service here is world class! Food was predictable Applebee's stuff. Not too many options in Kendallville so I recommend Applebee's unless you want to drive down to Auburn. read more

Let's be honest...this place is bar that your non-bar friends feel comfortable visiting. And they serve bar food. OK - maybe just a bit better than bar food, but not much. And, they are all the same everywhere...EVERYWHERE!!!! Booths, tables, high tops in a sunken bar area, stained glass hanging lights, vinyl seats and crayons for the kids. So far a 2 star joint. Just a souped up McDonald's sans play area, but with alcohol. EXCEPT, THE BURGER SERVED UP TODAY WAS EXCELLENT! (At $9.49 (including so-so fries) it had better be excellent.) This review is then weighted mostly on this single item: Bourbon Black & Bleu Burger. ( Tip to company...As an added alliteration appendage...+ Bacon! ) Regardless, it was wonderful. Served with a smoky (and I thought peppery) mayo on a healthy looking bun, this greasy slab of meat was anything but heart conscious. I am sure my veins are coursing with cholesterol, but my mind and mouth are well satisfied. Jack & Bleu cheese were mixed with the caramelized onions to create a wonderful topping for the mushrooms and peppers. Gosh, I think I am getting hungry again. And, there wasn't too much or too little of anything...just the right amount of everything. The meat was done just about as perfect as can be expected. They only take two requests now (pink or not pink), so the 'pink' that was served up was barely, barely pink in the center. It was pushing well-done, but held back...barely. Thrown on top were two pieces of great looking bacon. What doesn't taste better with bacon? (Perhaps another alliteration element...Better!) Did I mention it was greasy...sooooo good greasy. Friendly waitstaff also made today's afternoon visit pleasant. read more

Great service! Great food! Great deals, love the 2 for $20 deals, they make it so affordable . all of the food was warm and the service treated us like royalty. I would go here for every meal if I could. If you go with a group and you don't want to spend too much, I'd buy the 2 for 20 or 2 for $25 read more

The only reason I go to Applebee's in Kendallville is because there is no where else to eat in Kendallville, except chain fast food. But tonight did it for me. Don't waste your money! McDonald's is even better! They always get the orders wrong and then send over a manager who apologizes and offers your dinner at a discount. But wait.. Don't ask for them to go back to the kitchen for anything because you won't get it. My dog couldn't chew that steak, that they call "hand cut". Gluten free? They don't speak that language in this part of the country. Slow service too. Bit the food was decent. As always, Applebee's came through. And to be honest, the staff was awesome, nice, and friendly. Even offered my kids a cookie. Can't go wrong with that! read more

I ordered fish, and it was so dry I nearly choked on it, and it was the cheap fish, either pollack or whitefish...the breading was thick, and the fish was not really edible. I don't think I will return. I just wish The Gridiron was still open, because their food was great. read more
