We love the appetizers so we got a bunch of them thinking it was happy hour. They charged us full price even when we let them know that the waitress told us it was happy hour. read more

I will never come back!! The food was awful the chips stale. The salad was the biggest joke I've ever seen. It's like they went to a grocery store grabbed a pre cut head of lettuce then stuck it on a plate. A manager seated us we asked for a high chair and after waiting ten minutes decided to get it ourselves. We then waited about twenty minutes for a server to come over we ordered drinks apps and a kids meal. While ordering our drinks he asked for id and we gave him military ids he looked very confused and said he normally would never accept one of them but this time It would work. Great Falls has an air force base and a lot of the customers are military families. He made us feel very unwelcomed and like Applebees didn't like us. It took over thirty minutes for us to get out drinks. The restaurant was not busy at all about 15 empty tables and our server only had one other one. After getting the drinks we had to wait another twenty minutes for the apps. We had no silverware or napkins and we had to get up to get those as well. We then ate the food we had, he never came to check on us or buss the table for entree. He had other servers bring all the entrees out. Took him a good 15 minutes to check on us after that. He never refilled drinks, my grandmother needed her soda refilled and had to wait till he offered the checks to get that taken care of. He still never cleared dirty plates out of the way. The entire time we had plates stacked all over the table. Once we asked for the checks he brought them right away but we pulled our cards out and the tablet ziosk on the table didn't work so we had to wait another 15 mins for him to even run our cards. We have never had such bad service or felt so unwelcome before. We also watched the manager walk by our table more than a handful of times just staring at the mess and never asked if there was a way to fix the problem. So since we couldn't do a survey on the ziosk or complain to a manager I figured we would at least notify you of how one of your resutrants is working. read more

Just like some of the other posters, I am not big on "coporate-run business chains". However, the Applebees in Great Falls seems to be an exception to the rule. 98% of my experience of frequenting this establishment has been more than positive. The parking is easy and accessible, the customer service is attentive, the food is good, and the pricing is fair. Although they do get have busy times, parking always seems to be no issue. The layout of their parking lot is enough to accommodate any size of groups wanting to eat there. If parking does run out, there is extra additional parking right across the street. Seating is fast (even during their busy times). The waiter staff is always professional and very attentive. Overall, I always felt the urge to tip just a little extra for their efforts. Times between ordering a meal and actually receiving it seems average. Pricing is pretty much standard across the board no matter if you eat anywhere in Montana or any other state (only difference is that there are no sales taxes in MT). As for value, portion sizes are well balanced and you will almost always get your money's worth (as long as you don't get a specialty drink from the bar). The final bill for two people will add up to roughly $25+ dollars (as long as you don't get an alcoholic drink from the bar). The restaurant is kept clean and some of the decor reflects the local community (once again, this is probably standard). The bathrooms are also standard size and kept fairly clean. My bottom line: Good parking Very good customer service Fair pricing Great value Family friendly Very clean restaurant I give this restaurant a 4/5 rating and would recommend it to anyone living in Great Falls or stopping by. read more

I usually try to skip the "corporate" places, but stopped in last October, and enjoyed the place very much. I had a burger. Surprise!! Nice atmosphere, nice staff, beautiful view of the river, and the food was "delicious". As with most places, the people make the difference, and I will definitely come back for more. We had your average Applebee's experience. It is what I expect when I eat here. Decent food but overpriced. I have to say that I loved the brew pub style pretzels and cheese appetizer and their chicken fried steak was great. read more

Ordered carside to go, was told 20 min to pickup. Got there right on time, and texted a reply as I was instructed. No one came out with food for 10 min. I called from the car, they asked my name and said they were just bagging my order. 10 min later I went inside. Took a few minutes to get someone's attention. They said check with the bartender. He asked my name, then went back to check. Came back in 5 min to ask me what I ordered, could not find my order at all. He went back to check. Then someone else came out to ask what I ordered. A few minutes later they found my order, sitting on the bar. I refused the order, it had been sitting there for a half hour getting cold. Applebee's: Don't offer carside to go if you can't handle it. Or if you are busy, be truthful about order times. read more

We ate at the Great Falls Applebee's because it was getting late and it was close to our hotel. We had figured that it would be like any other Applebee's across the country but were disappointed. The service was poor . My steak wasn't ordered medium rare and came well done. My fiance' had ordered extra sauce on the side and it took almost a half hour to receive it , after asking twice for it. Her entree was cold by then. When back in Great Falls, Applebee's will not be on our list of places to return to. read more

The food was really ok ... we had the 2 for $24 deal and the mac and cheese and fried shrimp meal were not as satisfying as the pictures made them look. The more disappointing thing is that it's suppose to be a Neighborhood place but they have the same generic beer menu and the servers don't know what is on tap with a limited selection of local beers. To put the icing on the whole experience it is funny how this chain supports military in there menu but can't even do a military discount on meals?? We were greeted right away but never got our servers name. The wife and I ordered the 2 for $20 just for a quick cheap meal. After asking for our appetizer when the meal came out our server said, it's not his fault? Well who's was it?!? Continuing to eat our meal still no app. When the server came back out when we were finishing up he asked if we ever got it because he seen it "just sitting in the window." ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! After we were seated it took 20 minutes to get a waiter to the table and then only AFTER we called for one. There were only 5 other dinners in the restaurant and 3 bar patrons. When the male waiter finally came to take our drink orders he actually put his knee in the booth to take our order. We ordered the loaded baked potato soup for the 2 adults and other menu items for the teen and two children with us. Once our food was served we had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get the waiter back to ask for crackers with our soup. He RUDELY told us that crackers did NOT come with the soup, but he would get us some and mumbled the entire was to get them, which could be heard throughout the restaurant as there was few customers! The teen with us did not finish her quesadilla burger and needed a to-go box. Since our male waiter refused to come back to the table, I asked a female waitress to come to the table. She just stared at me like I had lost my mind, turned around and walked away! Eventually the male waiter returned with the bill which he just threw on the table and walked off without a word. My sister took the bill to the bar to pay and to get the to-go box. The male waiter returned wanting to know where the bill was. I told him she was at the bar paying the bill and again he rudely said, "I was coming to take care of it!" He literally ran to the bar as though I was lying and to ensure she was indeed paying for our food. It was the fastest he moved the entire hour we were there! I can guarantee we will NEVER return to that horrid place! I fully intend to contact cooperate office about the horrible service we received. while the family in the booth next to us were treated like royalty, waited on promptly and spoken to like human beings! read more

We took my sister there for her birthday along with her husband. This was a table for four and since my daughter worked there in the kitchen, we expected to have a good lunch but that was not how it turned out. The waiter was new and not very good so his trainer took over and did a much better job. I could see the asst.manager looking at us for a good part of the time and did not know why but did think it rude. I later found out that one of the managers had berated my daughter, saying another table complained about us which was untrue, it was the asst. manager. We were polite and tipped the waitress well. This asst. manager likes to berate her staff and could be called a bully and she is abrasive, I have heard this from more then one person that has worked there. The people at our table has darker coloring and I think the manager may have some prejudicial ideas about people. At any rate, my daughter is a writer and she will write to Tribune's readers opinion about our experience. It definitely was not family friendly! read more
