Words can't describe this!

Great place! COLD beers! Service is always good and now they have some of the best food you can find anywhere from Smoked Pork to some of the best Pizza and deep fried foods you will find anywhere. If you don't come here to try the Mushrooms and Onion Rings (all made from scratch) you are a fool!!! 5 stars all around!

Wings could be better but service and friendly atmosphere.

Wednesday's through Sunday there is a live mermaid in the tank behind the bar. The bar is a tiki-ish bar. The drinks are good. The food is appetizers and when I went they had huge loaded baked potatoes. I've heard the brunch/breakfast on Sunday is great. The service is great, very attentive, nice, and they make this place so great.

Do you feel awkward parking at a hotel that looks like a total dump just to go upstairs to this bar? Yes, but you still should. I ended up going on my own, and came back with colleagues the last night of our trip as it's a must stop. As I'm sure we all know, what makes it fun and unique is the dancing Mermaid performances in the pool behind the bar. Such a cool concept to watch them entertain you while you enjoy a good drink. My first time in the bartender was fantastic and giving me all the history of the place, and how the pool used to just be the hotels' actual swimming pool, and guests would swim in it, no Thank you. I ordered the cranberry cherry limeade, not realizing that it was basically a bucket full of booze, equivalent to three drinks (not complaining, just forewarning) also enjoyed chatting with the bartender about how the place is haunted. Definitely gives off that vibe and total dive bar/tiki feel. I'd come back every time I'm in this town or on a road trip. 21+---although they allowed a few families to come in with kids for a minute and get a picture by the mermaids, which I thought was super cool. And yes, you can tip the maids too! I didn't get any food from the restaurant, but I heard from a few it wasn't amazing so I think this is just a dive drinking spot for me.

Chuck's Oriental Palace - Fried shrimp to doughy

Updated review, four years later! I am so glad and thankful…read moreChuck's Oriental Palace is still open amongst all of the crazy events in the world, over the past four years. The Special Combination plates price has only increased by $1.00, which you honestly can't beat for the price. At $8.95 you get your entree, steamed white rice, and then the options of Fried Rice or Chow Mein, Egg Roll or Wonton, and Soup or Iced Tea. The portion-to-price ratio is tremendous and are unheard of in today's times. Some of the Special Combination entrees rotate every other day, but our favorites are the rotating Kung Pao Chicken (served Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri) and Hot and Spicy Chicken (served Tues, Thurs, Sat) and staple-ideas General Chicken or Sweet & Sour Chicken. The fried rice has much improved, it tastes on par with Kobe Steakhouse fried rice. I always order the wontons, and end up eating them on my ride home. The egg drop soup still isn't my favorite, but the unsweetened iced tea is always refreshing. Chuck's no longer offers a dine in option, but is the type of food you just want to sit at home and pig-out to anyways. The owners are so incredibly nice and hardworking folks, and are so thankful for the business.
