We received seating immediately; the establishment seemed half full. I ordered the Railpenny Burger ($17) with side of tater tots, which arrived w/in 10 minutes. The burger, consisting of pork belly, cheddar, pickled red onion, mixed greens, garlic aioli, was a solid, savory burger. Simply satisfying

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, contributing to an overall experience that felt relaxed and enjoyable. Sadly seems to have gone down over the years and just did absolutely nothing for us when we went this time. We got the poutine against our better judgment and against the advice of other yelpers, absolutely should have listened. It was white cheddar cheese and white gravy over fries with two onion rings on top. I understand wanting to do a twist on a classic poutine but the twist is usually supposed to elevate the classic - not the case here. It was just okay and absolutely wouldn't get it again. It was salted well but it just looked unappetizing and was bland otherwise This next thing is my fault because why would I expect anything more after the extremely weird appetizer? I ordered a $11 garden salad and did the steak tips add on for $10. It was truly not bigger than side salad and came with three very tough steak tips. My husband got the chicken fried chicken for $19 which was nothing to write home about but wasn't as offensive as the salad. The most annoying thing was the plates! The mains were served on dessert sized melamine plates One bright spot was that our server Lindsay was excellent

Pretty nice beer menu with lots of local options, as well as some that are brewed in house. The menu was pub/comfort food, with some interesting large plates as well. Whenever I see a pretzel on the menu, I have to order. While it was good, it was not at all what I typically get in a bar. I was served 3 smallish, pale and crunchy pretzels with a trio of sauces. The sauces were all interesting, but I would have preferred a standard large brown soft pretzel. I did try the fish tacos which were tasty, albeit a bit small for the $7.50 cost per taco. They are served a la carte. The waitress at the bar handled the crowd very efficiently and food came from the kitchen promptly. This spot is a bit off my radar, but I likely will return to explore the menu further.

Really pretty view, especially if you're looking to sit outside. We ended up at the bar, which was fine since we wanted the full bar experience. The vibe inside leans biker themed with an energetic but laid back atmosphere. TVs at the bar were showing sports and game shows, and even though it was mid afternoon and not super busy, there was a fun mix of people chatting and hanging out. Beer selection was decent, and the bartender recommended the buffalo chicken pizza. It took a little longer than expected to come out, but we didn't mind since we were enjoying our drinks. When it arrived, it was piping hot, cheesy, and flavorful. The buffalo sauce had just the right amount of kick without being overwhelming. My only wish: a bit more chicken on top. We also ordered a basket of fries, which looked like steak fries but were actually nicely crispy and had great texture. Perfect for snacking with drinks. Overall, this is a great casual spot for grabbing a beer and some solid bar food. Next time, I definitely want to sit out on the patio and enjoy that water view. I'll be back!

We were able to park close by and get in before the big crowd. Barley seems like a happening place. An upscale Irish Pub, for sure! The set up is a bar with a decent amount of restaurant booth seating. Of course, there were tables of different sizes available, as well. We were given a 10 minute wait after meeting with the Hostess. There was alot of activity around the bar and lots of drinks coming out of the bar well....always a good sign! When our time was up, we were quickly escorted to our table. We were each given a menu and a drink menu. Lots to choose from on both menus (see the pic below) I ordered the chicken sandwich with caramelized onions and my son ordered a Chicken Pot Pie. He had a beer and we both had water with a lemon. The food came rather quickly. I was immediately taken back when the caramelized onion was not on my sandwich. I was going to ask the waittress to fix it but it was far to busy and it was not a big deal. Of course, I would have enjoyed the onion but "no big deal". My son's Chicken Pot Pie was a good size and was thrilled with it. We both ate everything on our plates. Our waitress checked in with us a few times to refill, which was nice and came to take the plates away after we were finished. We did not get any dessert. To be honest, we did not see a lot of dessert plates coming to other tables, either. My grilled salmon on a bed of rice arrived as dry as the Sahara, surrounded by burnt roasted carrots -- at least I think that's what they were. My husband's steak he ordered medium rare was also way overdone, served a block of with cold mashed potatoes. The overly sweet Apple Pumpkin Bisque (for $9) went uneaten after each of us tried a spoonful -- it was more like a bowl of pie filling than soup. Even the dessert, bread pudding with some whipped cream, was gloppy and unappetizing. This is a great place to go if you are fasting.

We sat at the bar and were handed menu's and our drink order taken. The bartender was friendly and pleasant. She clearly knew the other occupants of the bar as they discussed their families, co-workers and local news. She wasn't quite as verbose with us, but why would she? We had more than enough time to make our selections, and even though we weren't in a hurry, it did feel like a long time. Still, the longer we stay, the more we drink. Right? So that works for tips. ;D She did eventually come over to take our food order between chatting, refilling drinks, welcoming more locals and taking care of bar set-up duties. So she was busy. This is a bar more than a restaurant, and the food was good. There seems to be one person on the bar and one in the kitchen. At least at lunch time. Our food came out at the same time, was warm and well prepared. The bartender put things we may need on the bar top near us: ketchup, forks, etc. and left us to it. She did check on refills during our visit. There is a small restroom opposite the bar that was clean. The ambiance here is neighborhood bar where you come to drink and spend time with your neighbors. Friendly. Not really a 'family' atmosphere. Especially with some of the language. Just FYI. It's a fair sized space and I suspect would be busy on a weekend evening. Definitely a lively spot.
