Hit or miss with the waitress/waiter. They gave me a bleeding steak, I asked for it to be taken back and cooked a little more. They brought it back out looking like a piece of coal. Not sure what it is, but this place is known for their bad service. We mainly go because you can't beat the happy hour with half off appetizers. Not sure what this place needs but hopefully they get the help they need soon. I was visiting my son and his family and they took me here to celebrate my birthday. We arrived at the restaurant on Tuesday, August 18th between 5:30 and 6pm. The visit started out with getting a pleasant reception when we entered the restaurant. We were shown to our table and our waitress appeared very quickly. She was very pleasant and took our drink order. So far it was looking like it would be a pleasant dinner, but wait. After we were served our drinks, the waitress took our orders. My son ordered the 4-CHEESE MAC & CHEESE WITH HONEY PEPPER CHICKEN TENDERS 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. He was told they were all out of Mac & Cheese. Isn't it a little early to be running out of food? He switched to fish and chips. I ordered a Bourbbon Street Stake cooked rare with a fully loaded baked potato. (I normally ask for the steak to bee cook charred rare, but from visits to other Applebee's locations, I knew they couldn't cook it that way.). After a long wait, our meals came at different times, with mine coming last. When she put the the plat in front of me, it had only the steak on it. She then informed me that they were out of backed potatoes, really. I ordered onion rings to replace the potato. The stake was not rare, it was well done. Because of the time we had been there and everyone was finishing their, I choose not to send it back. The steak was cooked so badly, it was the first time in my life that I couldn't finish eating a steak. When the onion rigs cam they tasted like no other rings I or my wife has ever had. I have no idea what was in the batter, but they were inedible as far as we were concerned. This was by far the worst Applebee's that I have ever been to. If I could give it no stars, I would. Based on this experience, I recommend that you do not even think about going to this restaurant. read more

You know, what is it with servers and crap customer service? My parents love this place so I take them once a week. We quickly learned what side of the restaurant to sit on. Servers are horrible, not all of them, some (minority) are awesome. Last time I went I ordered the artichoke spinach dip, the waitress repeated the order and it was there. 20 minutes later no dip, she walks by and I ask her if it'll take much longer, and to my surprise she said we never ordered it. The food took forever to come, and getting refills is like pulling teeth around here. I been to this place twice. Pros, they sever drinks and food until 1am which is cool if you want to take a date or hang out with some friends In in a melo environment on the weekend. The mix drinks were strong and served in big glasses, also had an appitezer and my total came out to $30 bucks which is not bad. Cons, they do not show a variety of sporting and seldom fights. This place doesn't have a sports bar vibe, if the lakers were playing I might come here to watch it.Overall ok place in the valley for decent American food and drinks. read more

I am so tired of this place. One time it's pretty decent and the next it's freaking horrible. Our last visit was just that OUR LAST! We were immediately seated and within 5 minutes our drink orders were taken. Ten minutes later our drinks arrived. We attempted to order then but our waitress asked us to wait. And we did. Absolutely horrible. Waitress did not get the order right for two of the people at our table. Food took forever and there were only 4 other people in the whole place. All you can eat ribs were disgusting. Service was dismal. We had her do separate bills. Everyone except for me paid cash and then walked out, obviously meaning they did not want change. Well instead of running my card first, she ran all the cash bills first and tried to figure out the change for each one. It literally took 20 minutes before I got my card back. As soon as we got there, the host did not have silverware for us. He said he would bring some back and did not. Our food came out fast, so that was good but two of us ordered steaks med-rare and they came out well-done. We were hungry and did not want to wait any longer so we took them and ate them anyway. When our food came out, we asked for more chips and salsa that never came, and had to ask for silverware, because that never came either. At the end of our visit, the manager took out over-cooked steaks off of our bill. This was the first time we'd been to this Applebee's, but not the first time I've had a bad experience at an Applebee's. I don't think I'll be visiting anymore Applebee's. read more

Went to this Applebee's location for a small birthday dinner with my family yesterday. The service was decent. However, at first it took forever for the waiter to take our food order. My party got no refills on our drinks when we asked for them, like we usually do on our previous visits. Good food but seriously train your new staff so they don't look like a fool. Take out is amazing and way better than dining in-the Service is quicker and they offer great choices and options when they take your order over the phone. Prob will be doing more taking out then dining in. read more

Appetizers and deals 2 for $20 are good. Love the spinach dip, chicken wings, and mozzarella sticks.Probably one negative would have been the time we ordered a rack of ribs and riblets. Restaurant is dirty, chairs are sticky and even the tablets for kids are unsanitary looks like they never wipe them down after each use. Food is burned and dry. They need to seriously pay some professional people to clean the whole place at least once at month if they want people to keep coming. I'm not coming back until I see better reviews. read more

Sat at the bar and had sirloin steak and shrimp with classic fries and garlic green beans. The steak was fantastic, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My husband and I went to Applebee's in El Centro to have some dinner and watch the Ohio and Alabama Bowl game so we wanted to be seated in the bar area. There was two open tables and some guests had eaten so would likely be leaving soon but the host said we could not have a table because he had over seated the server. We could only sit at the bar. This particular Applebees was great a while back. Don't know what happened. Took my wife and son on a Friday afternoon. The first thing I noticed was that there was no one to open the second door on my way in - which is something I got used to. Then, once we were inside, we literally stood there - just inside the door - waiting and waiting before anyone greeted us. I should note that after standing there for five minutes, we seated ourselves at a nearby booth. So, after waiting a total of eleven minutes to talk to an employee, a waitress walked up and apologized for the wait. She told us that she was busy outside with a customer who was picking up food in the parking lot. I asked why there wasn't a greeter inside and she said that they had been cutting back on labor. Food wasn't what it usually is. I ordered the quesadilla burger and the meat tasted dry and the tortilla was too hard.. My wife and son got the 2 for 20 deal. My wifes Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp was a big disappointment to her because the chicken was overly blackened. I sat and watched her use a spoon to scrape off some of that burned meat. My son's Three Cheese Chicken Penne was the only plate that got a solid rating. He said it tasted pretty good. I asked the waitress if we could speak with the manager before paying and she said she would ask her to come. We waited and waited. She never came and I was upset to the point that I decided to leave things "as is." Just as we were leaving after paying, we saw someone we think was the manager who was dressed differently wave us goodbye. My only reason for trying out their online app...What happened to their wings? They changed over to this "double crunch" crap. It's filler wings. Like injected gmo with gelatinous fat and skin. Fried, pre-cooked frozen appetizers. To the eye it's deceiving and the wings look big but you take away from all the filler you actually are only getting maybe an ounce of meat per wing...and paying $1.44 PER wing plus tax. Really? $12.99 for 9 oz of meat...$12.99 for 3/4 of a pound of chicken!? I ordered curbside to go and was almost home before I realize I didn't get my pasta. I worked there and ate there regularly. The food was great, I hear it is consistent with other aplebees. The staff in the back is overworked and underpaid, so watch your cups and dishes as the quality is not checked regularly, they tend to favor speed and procedure over cleanliness, flavor. if you don't like something send it back. Hello, I know this is probably a lil late and wrote it on such short notice. Iwent to applebees the other night I'd say maybe on Wednesday 1/13/16 to celebrate my best friends bday. The instant I got there I got approached by a nice waitress named Jourdan she was very attentive and a good host. She Def did go above and beyond for my friend her fam and me. Yesterday, I was really disappointed with Applebee's (in El Centro) customer service. I personally do not like paying the bill using the tablets on the tables, especially when splitting the bill. I don't think the tablets are reliable, but yesterday's waiter insisted we use the tablet to pay. The tablet restarted twice and each time it restarted, a new balance appeared. The manager and waiter told us there was a balance despite the transactions going through (The transactions appeared on our bank statements). The manager's response was very unprofessional because he didn't acknowledge that there could have been a technical mistake. He did not demonstrate customer friendliness and honestly made some of us feel embarrassed. I will not be returning anytime soon. I understand the restaurant wants to incorporate new technology, but if employees are not trained properly to handle these types of technical issues, then they should reconsider making customers pay using these tablets. Also, 45 minutes were wasted trying to solve this situation. read more

Im not likely to return, so im giving a generous three star review as im unlikely to give them another try since there are other options in the area. I moved from another area where i had many great experiences with Applebees and this location was not. I felt ostracized once anotjer larger group was sat before us that had arrived shortly after us. It was like amatuer hour during a shift change. After we were seated and ordered drinks, we got another server that took our order, then the service was pretty much nonexistent after that. The first beer was not filled all the way and the margarita tasted like straight sweet and sour brought in the tumbler with a glass. A lucky break came when we were brought our food by someone else with a smile and it was good and got another beer, it was full this time. He forgot to bring something, but no big deal. I could have tried to get someones attention if i wanted it bad enough. We ate quickly and had a tough time getting someones attention to find out how to pay the bill. I went in a month ago to just get a drink and leave. Things changed real quick once the friendly bartender with glasses took care of me. She Offered me some jello thing shots (which I thought was free) but didn't mind because she was a cute gal. I believe her name was Karla with a k as she said and will never forget her service.
