All Applebee's are not created equal. This one, however, I love. What makes a restaurant is the wait staff. Food is of decent chain restaurant quality, but the servers are what makes me keep coming back. They always remember who you are, and even if you just stop in to pick up, they greet you while they're walking with hot plates to their tables. I usually don't even go to places like that I prefer 5 star restaurants but it was the only place around my way for food and drinks and I decided to give it a try. I sat at the bar and offered my id my foreign passport with more stamps than the post office ( that I use nearly everywhere !!! ) And never had any problem with that for the past 10 years !!!! Short looking dude which didn't introduce himself as a manager nor owner said that I had to have an American passport to get served !!! At this point I'm like wtf so I say " let me get this straight ... so you have to be an citizen of United States to get a drink at Applebee's??? Had one of the worst experiences at this location. We walked in and the hostess wasn't even at the door. Now if they came over within just a few minutes it's no big deal, but we waited for almost 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. It wasn't just us either, there were at least two other parties that walked in behind us and we were all discussing leaving until someone finally came by to seat us. The $1.00 margaritas were like drinking water with a hint of crystal light, tasteless with very very little alcohol; but for a dollar, I guess I wasn't expecting much anyway. Then the food came out. My boyfriend ordered the special whiskey burger. He couldn't even eat any of it. It tasted and looked like they took precooked ground beef, tried to form it into a patty shape, and then tried to reheat it like that. It didn't even look like a burger when he first bit into it. The waiter was the best part of our day though, he was a nice kid who did actually take the burger off of the bill for us even though we offered to pay for it. Oh yea, the picture! At one point the staff started dropping off dirty plates onto the table across from us. They literally all started dropping things there and that's where they sat the entire time we "ate". One of the other reasons we lost our appetite. If your going to go to Applebees, I recommend trying the one in woodbridge instead maybe. Still might not even be better though. read more

This place is a all time fav especially when they have there $1 Long Island ice tea special going on. I got hooked on there sriracha shrimp it's a little spicy but it's sooo good unfortunately they didn't have it last time I went so I got the stir fry it was also really good but you guys need to bring that shrimp back read more

Went to visit this location last night. We went around 10pm and the crowd was a little rowdy. The best thing about this place is the price for apps and drinks are half price after 10pm. Our waiter was a little spacey. We loved the beef verde nachos! They were the best! I would recommend if you are just trying to have a good time at night. read more

Me and my sister usually go out for dinner to Applebee's as this resturant is it the close one and we love it as it very causal after long day work u can go relax and eat. I love the food and environment. But usually we go in weekends or Sunday night and some time Monday nite. ON MONDAY there is waiteress "Ashley" she happen to be a bad experience for us. I am 29 years old and she was asking for ID which was ok by law but by default i had only my International ID which was not enough for her she was pushing me to give her my second form of ID. I felt like i am in DMV she was rude and made faces i found her to be very raciest. we give so much business to this location and being a regular customer didn't count i had to leave as i was so uncomfortable. I hope the manager will understand. Regardless to that fact i still love apple bees's so now i have changed my location to woodbridge its same food but better customer service. read more

Terrible service at Applebees in Edison! I went there last night and my server was Emily A. She was extremely inattentive and wasnt checking up on us. I ordered a few appetizers and she forgot to ring up one of them and had me wait 20 mins for it and the fact she had no idea that i was missing an app and i had to remind her about it was ridiculous , also had to wait 20 minutes at the end of my dinner to wait for her to bring the check!!! The table sitting behimd me was their server as well and they werent happy with her either, It wasnt busy at all and all i seen her do is chit chat with servers and sit at the bar!! I don't eat at chains like this, but the other day I'm starving, and just want to grab something to go. They have the curbside pick up here. Ordered my food, it was ready quickly (11 minutes). The staff member was super friendly, professional, and competent (a rarity at a chain like this) on the phone and in person. I wish I knew his name to give him props. I went to have dinner on 4/29/17, I just want to say that the food was good and my server was the best server :) I don't remember his name, but I can tell you that he was a good server, he didn't make any mistakes with the food or something like that and in the end I asked him if they sell coffee because I had to drive for two hours and I was tired, so he had the kindness to give me a cup of coffee to go even though I think they don't sell coffee in there. This is the best Applebee's I have ever been to. The service is usually quick and the food is always solid. Obviously you do not go to Applebee's expecting a 5-star meal but for a quick dinner, this is one of my go-to places in the area. Applebees is obviously not where you go for a 5-star meal...but for a quick, cheap meal, it's a good option. It is pretty much the late night destination of champions thanks to its late hours and half-priced apps. Half-priced apps is like a destination in this area, you go there and see pretty much everyone you know. So it's not the best meal ever, but for a fun, inexpensive night out with friends, it works quite well (especially if you're not 21 yet). read more

Took my 5 and 8 year old nephews here last night. They served my 8 year old nephew spoiled milk. After I tried it and confirmed it I sent it back. Then they served a second kids milk from a new , unopened container. When I saw the look on his face when he tried it , I opened the lid and saw chunks floating in the top. They served him spoiled cream. Inexcusable ..... The food is ok and on par with a chain like this. The service was terrible and serving a child spoiled food is totally unacceptable . I live in the area and would typically enjoy a quick casual meal, but this Applebee's is a no for me. Some managers seem great, others are horrible leaving me feeling as though they are doing me a favor. Applebees is your typical "chain restaurant." I have been to this place a couple of times and each time the food we received was poorly prepared and slightly overcooked.
