We came back here to Applebees, and with the same family members at that, for lunch on a Saturday. Since I hadn't been dazzled by their burger and fries last time, I looked for other choices. I settled on the new Ultimate Trio, where you select three appetizers and three sauces for a set price. I went with the boneless wings (Parmesan garlic), onion rings and quesadillas. I enjoyed the meal more than on the previous visit. I mean, it feels like pub food in a way, but the wings were tasty and the onion rings thick and crunchy, which I prefer to the thinner type with soft batter. The quesadillas -- well, it is hard to make those memorable, but they were fine. The dipping sauces, well, they neither added nor detracted from the meal. My wife had the pasta Alfredo and it was okay, and those fries that I was less than impressed with last time. We brought some home for a second lunch, which always seems to help defray the cost of eating out. Our server was fine, friendly and fairly attentive, and though the food was a bit slow getting to us, we were catching up on news so we hardly noticed. So I was happier with this visit, and if this family luncheon occurs again, I will continue to explore the menu. read more

I ordered 3 cheese penne pasta with chicken - no flavor in the sauce - pasta overcooked and watery in the dish My husband ordered the chicken mac-n-cheese - came served on penne pasta which is NOT a mac-n-cheese pasta, overcooked pasta and watery - hardly any cheese in the dish - We were extremely disappointed with our meal. Even though the restaurant was more than half empty, there was a wait. Kitchen staff could be heard complaining about being overwhelmed to the manager. Other patrons were also openly complaining. Once we were seated, our waitress promptly took our order. Food was decent, but nothing special. The food here was amazing. We went for 2 meals at this location. The first time, our waiter was not friendly, not approachable, and overall seemed like she did not want to be there. The lady who served our meals was there both times and she was amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable about the foods. I've never been disappointed with an Applebee's meal, drinks, appetizers, anything on the menu really. The pretzel chip and beer cheese dip was an amazing combination. The dip was nice and heated up. I knew I was in trouble when I arrived in Bath, ME late and the only restaurants open were the usual fast food chains and Applebees. I decided to go with Applebees, since I thought it would be better. Big mistake. I was there on an un-busy Tuesday night and the food, when it came, took an inordinately long time. Also, the server was too intense in her attempt to solicit contributions for the Special Olympics, a charity the restaurant was promoting. I think just advertising the charity through the cards which were on all the tables would have been fine. The server also forgot to discount the house salad which was a lower price if ordered with a main course. I had to bring this to her attention and initially, she doubted me Now the food: the French Onion soup was the only thing I thought was ok. The house salad was a pittance of lettuce, diced cucumbers, diced tomatoes, and some shredded cheese on top (see photo). The tomatoes and cukes were diced down to the size you would get in a store-bought salsa sauce. The Fiesta Lime Chicken (see photo) was an overcooked, dry fillet covered with melted cheese embedded with shredded tortilla chips. Was this supposed to be Mexican? The rice was lumpy, bland, and not piping hot. The bill? the meal was pricey considering the location . Best of all, the server stands over you as you attempt to pay the bill and add a tip on the digital tablet machine they have at all the tables. Mine wasn't working properly. read more

I suspect that a shortage of servers is the reason the dining room looks half full but there was a ten minute wait to be seated. Once seated Rachel our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the 8oz sirloin cooked medium rare. Anne ordered the oriental chicken salad. Both the steak and salad were delicious. The wait time for our meal was surprisingly short. I was waiting at the bar for take out . The couple next to me sent back the ribs saying were too dry. I got my two burgers to go to be cooked medium well and one burger was raw in the middle.I felt like i should go back and tell them. I could tell the manger didn't want to deal with me. She asked if I wanted mustard or Mayo, ketchup. I said mustard AND Mayo, no ketchup. She asked because ketchup was only condiment on the table. I also asked for side of ranch with my fries. I decided against my better judgement to order some nachos to-go. Chips were very stale and ended throwing them out. I emailed the general manager. I did Receive a very prompt email apologizing and offering a refund. I got to the restaurant the next day to collect the cash refund. The bartender completely ignored me. Once I did get a manager, I was denied the cash refund that was promised. After repeating myself and playing the voicemail I was finally awarded my measly $27. Please go somewhere else. Pitiful establishment. I live close by and have taken the family here a few times and every time they provide subpar food and or service. I ordered the NE fish and chips and this is how it came. I asked the server where the lemon and tarter sauce was that was supposed to come with it (as per the description in the menu) to which he said "oh we were losing too much money on those items so we only serve them if you ask for it. Like, same with the coleslaw that's why it's so small now because people don't always eat it." That was pretty upsetting so I didn't even get around to the fact that my sons kids meal came with more fries than my 13 dollar dish did. I took my father to Applebees in Brunswick yesterday . He wanted to try something new since his favorite place to get out to in closed for the winter. I have to say we wont be making this our weekly outing destination. It was veteran's day my father in a marine corps vet. it was very busy and he doesn't walk well and decided he wanted to get it to go and just eat in the car. This is the best place for late night food. you can't be the 1/2 off apps after 9pm. The boneless wings, the mozzarella sticks, chicken wonton tacos, the spicy pickles, the spinach dip, all awesome. The burgers are great and the handhelds are amazing and come with endless fries and bbq seasoned option. The lunch combos are a great deal too, choose from salads soup and sandwhiches. The 2 for 20 is definately perfect for nights you just can't stand to cook. I love the honey chicken with pasta. They have new electronic table service that lets you call the waitress and pay at the table and even order,except for the late night apps. you need to order with waitstaff to get that deal. The service is pleasant, sometime even quirky. The place is always clean and playing all the sports games. There is often people cheering loudly from the bar. I've only been to Applebee's a handful of times (out of state) and this might have been my best experience at one. We had a table of 6 and showed up 30 minutes before closing time, which was 1230am. Most restaurants will turn people away or provide bad service but our waitress and bartender gave us nothing but smiles and great conversation. The chicken wings and chicken quesadillas I ordered came out great. One of my buddy's even ordered an 8oz steak that was cooked to perfection! I went to Applebee's in Brunswick, Maine the night after Christmas (12/26/12) for dinner with my family. We had a good dinner and our waiter was really awesome. What's not awesome was that I accidentally left my wallet in the booth. I know an employee picked it up and gave it to management and that it was kept locked in an office. When I went to retrieve it the next morning, the cash in my wallet (Christmas money from my family) was gone. Stolen. All of it. And the most upsetting part is that Applebee's has done nothing about it. No apology. No general statement of "we will do everything in our power to help resolve this situation for you, ma'am." Nothing. In fact, my experience has been quite the opposite. Restaurant management, the area director and loss prevention at the franchise level have all been completely rude and unhelpful. I got one apology from the 4th manager I spoke with about this and that's it. He was nice and apologetic, but still wasn't helpful and that was over a week after the incident. In fact he suggested I filed a homeowner's insurance claim to recover the money. (Huh, I thought your job was to help customers?) I have no idea how Applebee's is in business as a global company because they have no idea how to handle a bad situation properly. I have spoken with guest relations at corporate, loss prevention/risk management at the franchise level and spoke with local area managers and no one was helpful or reassuring or apologetic. In fact, they treated me with complete disrespect. Why on earthy would I make such a big deal about a couple of hundreds dollars stolen the day after Christmas if I was making it up? Signed police statement and everything. Needless to say, I will never visit another Applebee's location and have encouraged my friends and family to do the same. I can only imagine how terribly they may handle any other bad situation they encounter, and I for one will not take any chances. Thank you for protecting the thieves that stole my Christmas money the day after Christmas, and for ruining my trip home to visit my family during the holidays. Truly a class act. Normally never have an issue at this location, however today was different. Before we were able to be seated, the young man who was hosting at the time said that it would be a 30 minute wait. As we tried to ask him if we could be able to sit at the bar or any other table to speed things up, he completely turned his back on us and ignored us. The dining room was busy but not crowded. The service was quick, within 2 minutes of sitting down. The bar area was clean and friendly. I had a chicken quesadilla (half off 2-5 pm and 9pm to close) then I had a brew pub Philly with sweet potato fries! Yummy To drink I had a virgin frozen strawberry daiquiri. Good atmosphere, good company at the bar. The bar got busier at 2:45pm for late lunch rush. Warm environment in a cold Maine day. read more

We have been frequent diners at Applebees in Brunswick, ME. We particularly like the Fajitas and stop by at least once or twice a week for them. They are the best, with grilled veggies, generous fixings and perfectly grilled chicken or steak. A week ago we stopped by Applebees for our fajitas and were served them with nearly raw cold veggies instead of the delicious grilled veggies that we usually get. We asked our server to send the veggies back to be cooked a manager came to our table. He said that veggies for the fajitas are now parboiled in the morning and served semi raw because that is how "authentic" Mexican restaurants serve them. He told us that if we had gotten them with grilled veggies it was not the correct cooking method. He took our plates away for 15 minutes and brought back the same veggies heated up but clearly not grilled. Grilling caramelizes the onions and makes the peppers sweeter. The veggies, especially the cold raw onions were inedible in comparison to what we have routinely been served for many months. The menus still call the fijitas and veggies as grilled. The manager refused to discuss the matter further and stomped off never to return Our advice is NEVER order the fijitas at Applebees in Brunswick. If the recipe has been changed chain wise...never order them at ANY Applebees. They ruined a delicious entree. read more

It's Applebee's. If you haven't been to an applebees, then you probably love under a rock and this might just knock your socks off. For normal people, it's just standard fare, with the exception of one thing. There's a waitress there who is blonde and has this succulent delicious booty. It's so round an gorgeous, it's really the only reason to eat at this establishment. 3 stars for the restaurant + 5 stars for the fine waitress = 4 star average. read more

it's an Applebee's but the real review is the staff. They were really good. A group of about 40 from the local theater had walked in shortly before us. And that should have really pushed service back but our waiter was super friendly and we still got our orders on time we didn't have to wait long at all. Average quality of food no complaints there. The food was OK, however they have tablets at the table for children to play games. There are no signs on the tablets stating that you have to pay to play. The only note on the table was a small box on one screen that said '$1.99 to unlock games'. This implied that you could play the games available and pay to unlock more games. So, I tried one game - the type you can get for free online. We got charged the $1.99 on our bill and complained to the waitress who took it off. So, watch out for extra charges on your bill. I suspect they just charge everyone so they can make an extra buck or two. read more

Then, fast forward to the day of the reservation, about half an hour before, we called and they said we were all set. So, a half an hour later, we got there and they acted like they had no idea we were coming. Considering this had been set up weeks ahead of time, and we even had just talked to someone on the phone, this was bewildering. Now we were stuck with our big group and nowhere to eat. Easter weekend not much open..we dislike chains but had no choice. The new drink menu was great and the ingredients were good if you looked for some good clean drinks. The margarita martini was darn good. We ordered a pretzel and it came out super greasy and disgusting. We stopped in for 2 take out orders as we really wanted to take it home and eat in the comfort of our home. I wanted an order of ''riblets and the great garlic green beans''. This item happens to be on the ''all you can eat'' menu. we were informed they cannot sell this for take out. WHAT?! Why not? Because it is only if you eat it here....was the answer. Why can't I just have whatever you would serve me in a plate....in a 'to go box'? Because you can't come back for more. I don't want more....just one serving!!! Nope...no way was I getting a 'to go' order of riblets. Totally illogical. They would be saving $$ as I would not be getting seconds [and at 70 y.o. .... ] I would be taking a doggie bag home anyway. What BS! We left and got sandwiches at SAMS to take home. Ha....should have sat down and got my riblets served and then asked for a box to take home... and dumped the whole thing in it.... and left with it. So stupid.
