Service was upsetting. We ordered our drinks, when the server came back with no drinks, she asked us what we wanted for an appetizer. Then we waied for OVER AN HOUR to get the rest of our meals, a grilled chicken salad and a quesadilla burger. Meanwhile, a table of 4 that came in 20 minutes after us got all their food AND a table of two that came in 10 minutes after us was able to get their appetizers, meal, desert, AND bill before we got our food. Went for dinner after the Trine hockey game. It was surprisingly empty. We were told we had a 20 minute wait for a table for 6. The hostess rolled her eyes & said they didn't have a table for us and that it would be a wait. The 5 person group ahead of us had been waiting for 1/2 hour for their table. There were several tables that would fit 6 people. The hostess explained that there wasn't enough servers. My husband asked if we could sit at one of 6 person tables and we could go to the bar to get our own drinks until a waitress was available and was told no. We were finally seated at a dirty table, then she came by to wipe it down then had to wait til it dried. A couple of us ordered alcoholic drinks which were made & sat to be served for about 10 minutes in which the frozen drink was half melted & the draft beer was barely cool. We could've had them sooner if we had been able to go to the bar ourselves. The food was good & our waitress was nice & good. I don't know if they need to hire more people or if they're having trouble finding people to hire. It's a small town & everything else closes really early for dinner which doesn't help when games end at 9 or after & it's hard to find a place to go with great food & atmosphere after 9pm in this town. By the way, this is 2nd time to come here, the first time we weren't even allowed in because it was 10pm, they closed at 11pm & they had people waiting to be seated and we were told they could accommodate us before closing. read more

Had the worst service I've ever had anywhere tonight. I usually am not a complainer because I am a server and I understand things happen but this was nuts. We waited 35 minutes for drinks. We ordered alcohol and waters and alcohol I understand but we didn't even get water for 35 minutes. Our food was out before any drinks or silverware was on the table. Not happy with the New Year's Eve trip to Applebee's. Walking in we were told it would be a ten to fifteen minute wait to be seated. It took 14 minutes which was within the time frame they gaves us as we waited for the four couples ahead of us to be seated in the 12 empty clean tables or the six unclean tables. With four girls hovering around the hostess stand for ten of the 14 minutes we waited to be seated. When sat, we waited eight minutes for our waiter to greet us. We both got waters and placed our meal order at the same time and waited six minutes to get water. That was the last time we saw our waiter until we got our check twenty-six minutes later. A runner brought out our food to our table and we were never checked up on. My special order burger was made correctly and my french fries sucked. When you have gotten fresh fries at Applebee's and know how good they can be, when they deliver you something that isn't as good you are disappointed. She got some type of chicken and rice and thought it was barely warm to the touch. Something tells me our food sat on the pass or on the counter waiting for my burger. I have had mixed experiences at this location. When I expect good I get bad and when I expect bad I get average to good. Consistency from visit to visit, diner to diner, and component of a meal to component of a meal are an issue. Usually the service is pretty good but this trip was not good as the waiter visited the eight top five or six times from the time we were seated and when we got our check and he was awol at our table. I do like Applebees in general but I recommend you temper your expectations dining at this location. read more

Surprisingly great experience here! In Angola, IN for work and made a quick late night stop in on a Wednesday evening with a group of 4. Great service and all of our steaks were cooked perfectly! Very pleasantly surprised for an Applebee's right before closing but I'll take it! Got the Shrimp & Parmesan Sirloin with Broccoli and Green Beans. Good experience here! We recently had dinner at Applebee's in Angola Indiana. My daughter inadvertently dropped her wallet in parking lot and a kind person brought it in the restaurant after we had left. The General Manager John Potts immediately sent it via UPS to our home in Michigan with a great personally written letter. What great customer service! Although the food was great, it is that kind of leadership and and excellence in customer service that will instill a positive image of Applebee's for years in my mind. Our experience at this Angola Applebee's was terrible. The food was just fine, but what made the whole night bad was our waitress. Stephanie. From the moment we sat down, she was snarky and had the WORST attitude. When asked a question she would roll her eyes. I think she rolled them 6+ times just within our meal alone. She didn't know any of the menu items, she was terrible at refilling drinks. The worst part was when we decided to pay and tip on the tablet at the table. Both of our parties selected "no receipt" and she purposefully brought both over with our tip shown right on it. I know she did that on purpose because she didn't like the tip she saw. We were in town trying to find a place that was not to busy,we stoped in to this location and were told it would be a 30 minute wait by 1 of the 5 hostess that were working the front. Well, 45 minutes later we were looking straight at two open tables ( next to each other) that they said they could NOT move due to the tables being in different sections. By this point we were in to deep to leave they eventually figured it out and got us seated. We ordered our food quickly. And it took another 50 minutes to come out ( I will say they were busy so that is somewhat reasonable) however the overall experience was far from acceptable.
