Last time I visited this store I had a negative experience but this time things were better. I had to replace my iPhone's battery which dropped down to 79% battery life and was still under Apple care + warranty. I was able to schedule a same day appointment at this Apple Store. Once I arrived there were many employees available just chatting so I asked one of them for assistance and he pointed me to one of the employees who should be able to help me. The problem is that there were already 3 people waiting to talk to this person so I had to wait about 15 mins. Once I was able to talk to that particular employee things moved faster. I left my phone and they told me to come back in 90 mins. 10 minutes prior to that my phone was ready. Overall my experience was positive but I don't understand why another employee wasn't able to assist me and I had to wait 15 mins past my scheduled appointment time to talk to someone. read more

Im an apple fan all the way. Ive also been to a couple apple stores and this one is no better or worse then the dozen others throughout the city. For me this location is convenient because getting an appointment is easier compared to city locations and I could always ship to store for quick pick up. I will say though if you have a complex issue with lets say your Mac, I would opt to bring it to a bigger location in the city where Genius Bar workers just seem to be more knowledgeable of the product and any issues that may arise. read more

(a lead technician as per him at the Staten Island Apple Store with very long curly hair) for technical assistance, I strongly recommend requesting--run from this deceptive, unprofessional, and rude person. While on all previous visits, my interactions with other staff members were usually pleasant, my experience with Mike L. was frustrating, disappointing, and even misleading. His attitude and approach made the situation far more difficult than necessary and stood in big contrast to the otherwise good service I have come to expect from this store. It's been a few months since I had to stop in for Apple support. I'm only getting around to writing this review now, so some things may have changed since then. Because of COVID, the amount of people inside is limited. This allows for long wait times and long lines outside. Even if you schedule an appointment online, don't expect to walk in at that exact time since they're so busy. What annoys me is the amount of staff they have vs the amount of people they help at a time. Only half of the store is being used, I still think they can open up more tables and still enforce social distance. You count all the people just standing around not doing anything, which is still annoying. They are wiping down stations between each customer and they replaced my AirPods pretty quickly once I got in. read more

The only physical store that is very uncomfortable and a very bad experience. The thing is like this. I wanted to buy a mobile phone case and other accessories for about 300. They said they would have to queue for about 10 minutes and asked me for my name. I waited for 20 I asked them a few minutes later and they said my name was not in the queue at all. I just wanted to pay, but the staff was chatting and didn't help with the checkout? Is this kind of service system Apple's main business now? Or is it discriminating against us? Do I need to wait more than 30 minutes to check out? Very bad. . P.S. I live in this area and will never go to this store in the future. I have basically never had this problem in the city. This location at the Staten Island Mall gets crowded, but the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The last time I stopped in to get my new phone, it took a while to complete the transaction because my credit card companies kept ignoring my responses to the fraud alerts, but the rep helping me was really patient, didn't make me feel like I was holding up the rest of her schedule, and looked for alternatives to get it done. Other than the payment part (which wasn't their fault at all), it was pretty quick and easy when it came to setting everything up. I haven't been to this store for any repairs or support, but purchasing new products there has been smooth. read more

Apple is good at selling but useless if you have an issue with their product. My MacBook Pro 2019 screen went completely black all of sudden. Still have apple care so scheduled a diagnostic right away. Well, there is no diagnostic being done in the store by an apple technician except for trying to press shift+ctrl+opt+power buttons simultaneously. obviously, nothing happened. The rep offered me to ship my computer to their repair facility and fix whatever the issue was for 5-7 days)) no guarantee the data will be saved. I said no and went to the local repair service instead. the guy was able to get the job done within 20 minutes. It turned out to be just dust. He said to bring it in for a check up every 6 months or so to avoid this problem because the newer MacBooks are prone to dust issues(( read more

On a cold and rainy day in April 2024, my best friend's phone stopped working mid-job search session. Things have been tough lately. She needed her phone as all her job search info was there. Essentially, her problem was that her phone didn't charge, so we thought it was a mechanical port issue. Long story short -- it was not. She made an appt at the Genius bar for 2:15. We walked in at 1:50, expecting to wait around for a bit and then be seen, but we were immediately greeted by a tall gentleman with bleached hair who immediately started to troubleshoot the issue and tried to wirelessly charge to determine if it was a battery issue or a port issue. Lo and behold: the phone turned on, and hope filled our hearts again! Xiao, the kind woman in charge of our (first) genius department, continued the diagnostic. She determined that to repair the phone (technical jargon inserted here that went over my head), it would be like 550. But to get a new phone, in my friend's situation, would be nearly $100 less. Yikes. Hope has left the building. Get Apple Care, kids. At this point, our genius appointment was over but they then passed us to a sales specialist, Larissa, who was able to find the lowest possible upgrade for a phone while also maximizing available storage. At this point, we'd been here for nearly an hour. I was sweating, my best friend was fighting with her immigrant father over the phone for all of the Apple store to see. We were delirious but Larissa extended grace, understanding, and humility. Thanks, girl. Finally, after getting the proper authorization for doing an upgrade in my friend's name, we were able to start data transfer to a new phone (again, less $$$$ than getting it fixed... GET APPLE CARE lol). But the thing was my friend's phone storage was so full of dumb text messages and screenshots that the data transfer was NOT working. The kind woman (I did not get her name) who was troubleshooting our data transfer then referred us to Chris (by then we'd been here for nearly 1hr 30min, which is ~3 genius appointments), who put his mind to the god damn test. After some laughs, some tears, a few hamster memes, and what felt like a Seinfeld episode plot, we were able to delete some shite off my friend's phone and get the transfer to work. It took an additional two hours, in which we went the hell home and came back because the fluorescent lights of the Apple store were making us go literally insane. But the kindness that we felt from the team made up for the horrors we had experienced. Essentially, they helped two very tired, very delirious young ladies get a new iPhone in a way that made me believe God was in the Staten Island Mall. Thanks y'all read more

They gave excellent advice. Went in for a new battery for an old iPhone. Since I am planning on getting a new iPhone when the next one is out.... They did not sell me a battery I really did not need and said it was a waste as it would not significantly improve my current iPhone, and their advice was to wait and put the money instead towards the new iPhone. Extremely poor customer service especially from Assistant Manager who obviously isn't aware of respectful customer etiquette and doesn't honor Apple Corporate Policy of requesting a seasoned Apple employee for an appointment. In short, I made a confirmed appointment with Apple Customer service for a particular highly recommended seasoned Genius Bar Employee in February, was told by this manager I couldn't request an employee and he might not "give me this employee " to discuss my issues. I was basically told to wait 20 minutes until my appointment time although the store was overstaffed, few customers n the employee I requested was obviously free. I was rushed through customer service at the Genius Bar from another employee, told I needed to buy a new laptop ( I had already informed the manager I was Determined to leave the store with either a new laptop or ipad) , sent to another location in the store. Not surprisedly, I was assigned to yet other employees not the person I requested as "he was now on Break" (conflicted with infor I knew). I have no problem with the employee I bought the laptop from but this was not his sale. After I bought the item I was told i would have to leave the laptop over night as no one was available to assist with "setting up my system". Again there were multiple non busy staff members. I explained yet again I was a Healthcare Worker n needed the laptop for tomorrow n had client information on the device so wouldn't leave it. Obviously they didn't care. The following day a PT friend showed me how to fix the problem I was having with my devices. The best yet, everyone in the store was told I was a healthcare worker yet I didn't receive the healthcare worker discount I learned of the following day. Zero stars. read more

This store can never fix anything or rather they WON'T fix it unless you're willing to pay $300 for this or $700 for a new whatever. They always attribute small fixes to much larger problems and then tell you that you have to send it out for a new top case or a new motherboard. Inevitably, they always come to the conclusion that you have to buy something new. Do yourself a favor. Go to Hylan Computer Repair. The tech there can fix things as serious as water damage for like $150. Don't bother with the 20 somethings at this store that barely have any real technical knowledge any way. Always helpful and professional, even when super busy. The customer service team are pros. Consistently impressed by the speed & high skill with which they handle so many people. I always see people angry they are waiting or worse, complaining when their service request is impossible or they've damaged their device. With a straight face and all out violent verbal attack, I saw a woman straight up tell the Genius Bar employee she's "brining Apple down" And "she is a lawyer and knows a lot of CEOs" after her daughter broke her MacBook screen. She badgered the super cool and massively professional employee relentlessly. IMMENSE KUDOS to the gentleman and team for staying on message, not being lured into a petty comeback 100x and to remaining customer focused even when she devolved into a ranging mess embarrassing her husband. He sheepishly apologized for her behavior to all of us in earshot. We all felt terribly for him. Nice job Apple people often carry their baggage and act accordingly out in the world. i'm a very busy person and I need my phone to work with I had two appointments one on Tuesday and another one on Thursday night to come here wait in person and have my phone repaired. The manager promised me that if I came back today my phone would be repaired instead I was told by the sales girl that it was too late and now I have to be inconvenienced and come back a third time. Just left the SI store. Very disappointed! I was sent there by Sprint, as my husband forgot his password to get into apps, iTunes, etc. Unfortunately the password was lost when our house caught fire. We were not helped. Apparently the Apple Store can't help him. He was given a number to call, but they couldn't help him either. He was given another number to call tomorrow. Is he the only person that forgot their password? I find this hard to believe. No only did the store employees not help, the sales person walked away from us. I've been looking for a laptop for the last few weeks. After doing a ton of online research I've been bouncing back and forth between a MacBook and a Spectre x360. I decided to stop by the Apple store to take a look at the screen sizes and keyboard before deciding. Given Apple's premium price tag, I was expecting premium service. Boy was I wrong. During my first visit, I asked the sales guy some questions. He mentions (unasked) that Apple stores have a price match policy, so if I find a better price somewhere else they will match it. How awesome, I think. So I say to the sales guy.... oh, that's awesome so if I find it somewhere else cheaper I can come back here and you will match it? He says, yes. I then ask about memory. The discussion ends with him saying I can go online and configure a MacBook pro 15" for 32gb of RAM. So I leave, deciding to shop around a bit more before purchasing. I go home and try to configure my desired model online with 32GB of RAM. One big problem, it doesn't come in 32, only 16. Now why didn't the SALES GUY know That? So I decide that 16GB should work and find the perfect configuration on best buy for 400$ cheaper. With that, I decide since I can get most of what I want at a pretty decent discount, I'll head back to the Apple store and take the plunge. I was also intending to change my cell phone over to the iPhone X in September. I head back to the store with a print out of the same item on best buy.com. I get the same sales guy as the first time around. I tell him I'm ready to buy but found it at a 400$ discount, so I'm glad they price match. I hand him the print out and he looks me in the eye and says.... oh we only price match up to 10%, I told you that when you were here. Um, say what now? I said, no. You didn't. Why would I come back here when best buy is 400$ cheaper, does that make ANY sense? And the definition of a "price match" is to MATCH the exact price. 10% is not a price match, it's bullshit. He asks me to wait, he wants to get his manager. I tell him, unless the manager will honor his promises I don't want to be bothered. The manager comes over and politely says, no we can't honor that price. He repeats the 10% bullshit policy again. 1) I was told the price I find anywhere else would be honored and matched at the Apple store 2) price matching is defined to mean a price found lower, somewhere else, would be matched exactly. 3) I'm not mentally impaired, you've already told me the same thing over and over again, stop wasting my time and let me go spend my 2k at best buy where they actually care about customer service After such a bad experience being lied to, dealing with employees who don't know what they're doing I'm now rethinking going with Apple. Went there yesterday. I was having a problem with my MacBook Air headphone jack( there was something stuck in there) Genius Bar took me right away. Joe was great. Then I decided to buy a new MacBook Pro and Danny helped me (not sure of last name, and I'm sure there are a few Danny's there) super nice guy, helpful, set me right up. I kept adding things to the order and he was helpful and went out of his way to make sure that I had what I needed to transfer my files. Had me in and out in under 30 mins. Thumbs-up for Apple, thumbs-down for this Apple Store. We have every Apple product imaginable - two iPhones, two Macbooks, two iMacs, an Apple TV, MobileMe, etc. - and while it is convenient to have an Apple Store right around the corner from us, we now avoid this location at all costs and trek to Manhattan instead. The employees here give consistently poor customer service. With five employees "greeting" customers at the front door, you'd think one of them would actually say hello or ask if we need help - not. In the half-dozen or so times we've been here, we find ourselves wandering around the store trying to find a worker who will take our money or go to the back of the store to procure whatever gadget we need. We bought a Macbook here once, opened it up at home, and it turns out to have a large scratch on it fresh out of the box - not their fault, understood. So we scheduled an appointment with the Genius Bar to have it fixed or replaced, and when we brought it back in, they refused to fix it! Well, they would repair it, but for a price - several hundred dollars for a whole new case. Even the store manager just shrugged it off. We left, called support, they sent us a prepaid box to return the Macbook in, and we had it back, fixed, free of charge within two days. We had to go directly to Apple because the Staten Island store refused to help. Another time, we brought in an iPhone we had recently purchased that we discovered had a misaligned screen - there was a lip on one edge where the glass meets the silver part of the chase, and an indent on the opposite side. When we explained the problem to one of the Apple employees, he laughed, called over another employee, and said, "Guess what this guy is complaining about!" When he explained the issue to the other employee (she said she was a manager), they both laughed in the "get over it" kind of way. We scheduled an appointment with the Genius Bar, and again they refused to address the problem. I don't understand all the positive reviews for this Apple Store! It's the worst anywhere. I've been to many Apple stores all over the world, this one is the WORST Apple Store I've ever been to. I go in asking for more information about their iWatch, since I was looking for more information before I purchase one. The person came over and scheduled an appointment for someone to show me the iWatch. This part was unnecessary as there were a handful of employees standing around, chatting, laughing, hi easily could've came up and offered me help instead of scheduling an appointment to have someone give me information. Never had this process at any Apple Store I've been to. So I'm waiting, waiting. No one shows up to tell me about the iWatch. I go back to the lady who scheduled it, she said "Oh, the person was here but didn't see you.". I've been standing in the exact same spot for 15 minutes, was this person wearing an Invisible Cloak to come see me? So finally she motioned to another employee, who didn't wanted to be bothered with. Comes over, no hello, he greeting. Very rudely asks what do I want help with. She laughed the entire time she as speaking with me, and was chewing gum. This is extremely unprofessional and poor customer service. The people working here are a disgrace to be representing Apple. this place is amazing. I mean, it's an Apple Store, so you know what you're gonna get. But the people astound me every time. I dropped my busted laptop off on friday. It needed a new hard drive, a new latch and a new dvd drive. Less than 24 hrs later, I got a call that everything was fixed and it was ready for me. Say what? The dude also went out of his way to replace the bottom case. All of that work got done days before the next available appt at any of the sixty Apple Stores in The City. Two nights ago, after getting back to my boyfriends house after going out for dinner, my macbook which I had closed making it "sleep," was non responsive. The light in front indicating it was on was alit, but that was all; the screen was dark. So I go on Matt's (PC) and make an appointment at the genius bar the next morning. (Fortunately Matt is a 5 minute walk from the Mall. The Techie fixed my problem in minutes and showed me what to do in case the problem arose again, In addition the inside bottom plate in my machine was lifting up. And they say it would take a few days to fix (free of charge because I have the protection plan.) It was done in a matter of 2.5 hours- not even. To make matters even better, they did a 1,000% job. That is no typo- ONE THOUSAND percent job. They cleaned my keyboard, inside underneath, and the top as well. THEY even cleaned my screen. My comp looks goood as brand spanking new. read more

The best thing about this Apple Store is the Genius Bar. Unlike Apple Stores in Manhattan, you can usually get a reservation for the same day, or next day, instead of a week from now. And they are not so overworked as to take a week to fix a problem like many other stores. Repairs are quick. And the store itself so much nicer than a Manhattan Apple Store. You don't have to fight crowds of people, or wait in huge lines. There are plenty of employees and they are all very friendly and helpful. Well worth a trip to the Staten Island Mall. read more

I have been an Apple fan for a long time. I got my first iMac in late nineties. It was sparse for Apple back then amongst the PCs. It has been pleasurable to see Apple surpass the bulk and problems associated with PCs and Microsoft. I have had excellent service at this store. I have had my Macbook hard drive and track pad replaced. It was at no cost to me because I purchased the Apple Care Plan. It cost me $189 and it paid for itself. Without that and you go past your warranty time you will pay. My power cord was lost there and they replaced it without question. My computer was fixed within one to two days each visit. Appointments for the Genius were easy to get. The employees were helpful and attentive. Bad experiences can happen. It just hasn't happened to me there. read more

I've been here several times over the past few months after I purchased an iPhone 8 last January. Since then, I've had issues with the phone and the replacement phone. I just had some bad luck I suppose since both phones seemed to be defective with a number of issues from day one. The Apple store tends to be a stickler for time. If your appointment is for 7:20p.m., then that is the time they will see you, not a minute early or late. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was told to come back at the appointment time (even though the store was almost empty). I can't say I was thrilled every single time I've come in here but the last employee who assisted me was great. He was very thorough, polite, and took the time to explain the situation to me and install a new update on my second replacement phone. He also ran a diagnostic test to ensure this phone is running smoothly and I won't have to return again. Hopefully I won't have any issues with my third iPhone 8 (keeping my fingers crossed). read more

A very good Apple Store! It's so nice to have one very close to my home. I have a lot of Apple Products and I am very happy with them and I am very happy with the service of the store. One time my brother's iPod Touch broke, the back light would not light up. Brought it to the Apple Store without an appointment. The Apple employee's looked at it, but were unable to fix it. So they gave him a new iPod Touch! (Not a referbished one, a brand new one!). There was only one time I had a problem with Apple, I had a problem with my Website, that I build and run through Apple's iWeb service. I went to the store and told the man my problem, I could not believe it when he asked me "What is iWeb?" and started googling my problem! In all the many years of owning iPhones I've never had problems with them and never even been in this Apple store until recently. People started to tell me I sounded muffled. I wasn't experiencing any problems hearing them. After diagnostics and cleanings and me canceling several appointments, I was there yesterday with the tech named Danny who couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, actually all the employees I've encountered in this store have been. My phone was 11 months old and they issued me a new one. Danny was under 30 years old as most employees of the store are, he was friendly, engaging, welcoming and helpful. We did not have to spend all day there either. In under an hour I had my new phone and it works beautifully. read more

The Apple store is an amazing experience! They have a greater at the door to help people as soon as you come in. I've had to wait to get to them a few times but it's far better than wandering around aimlessly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The workshops they offer are an amazing(and FREE!!) service that I take up any time I can. The garage band workshop was so much fun and I got to feel like a big shot DJ lol. All in all it's a typical Apple experience which is an amazing retail experience. read more
