I never heard of this place until my husband bought a groupon for $75 to fix my ipad mini…read more First off, that's the original cost so that's not a savings at all. My ipad mini dropped by accident and the screen was cracked. It was still working fine except the glass was broken and you could easily get cut. Again, everything was working like normal and the screen was just cracked..that's all. The ipad was brought in for repair on a dead battery because I forgot to charge it. I get a call from the guy here who said the ipad was charged up and the crack actually caused a black spot on the screen. If I wanted this fixed it's an extra $75. I told him I played with the ipad numerous times after it fell and there was no black spot. He stayed quiet. He probably thought I never saw the screen after it fell...not the case. I told him no, dont fix it and I'll see what he's talking about when I pick it up. Went the next day to pick up and saw the round black spot. I told him this was not there when it fell. Again, he said nothing. I told him how did the black spot appear and he said from the drop. Um, no thats not the case and I told him this wasn't there. Again, he said nothing. Once I got home my husband was very upset and called the location. He spoke to the guy and told him this was a crappy job he did and asked how the spot appeared. He actually told my husband the spot got worse after he opened the ipad to fix it. Clearly the spot appeared after you attempted to fix the glass. Why should we pay to fix your mistake????!!!! He never offered to fix his mess. What kind of customer service do you provide? None apparently. We actually thought bringing my device here was a mistake and we shouldve went to kings plaza mall and had the kiosk people fix it or even my neighborhood guy who does good work with apple products. Now, I have to pay double to fix his mistake. I will not leave this here, I'll be looking to file a complaint with this so called company. I will post a picture of the spot he caused on my ipad.

12/28/2023: Good evening! My iPhone 14 Pro was crashed on corpus and screen (how come I can upload…read morethe picture-proof??!), and I left my device for 1 week, they gave me a receipt with my own client (reference) number, for example, mine was 1247, and the guys repaired everything --$500, also I asked to buy, and place for screen protectors, so I have paid $40 for the 3 items. Additionally, my iPhone comes with special plan, and it means - I did not buy it neither through "Apple"-online nor through "Amazon", directly in my Brooklyn, thus it's necessary for it to be in perfectly undamaged conditions. I repaired it on December 10th, 2023. Yesterday, on December 27th, I arrived by B6-bus, which stops exactly on their worksite, and I had Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet with me, and they sold/helped to place a new screen protector for this device. I must have waited for less, than a week, and on then - I made order with those guys for ONE screen protector. For everything, I paid $20. CONVENIENT SPOT. GOOD PRICES. QUICK REPAIR. I am happy!!!

SCAM ALERT: Predatory Practices, Bait-and-Switch, and Violations of NYC Consumer Protection Laws!I…read morebrought my working ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard here for a straightforward, labor-only service: desoldering a damaged LGA 1700 socket and soldering on a brand-new replacement socket that I already purchased and provided. Instead of giving me a flat, honest price for the labor, this shop attempted to aggressively squeeze a non-refundable $75 upfront "diagnostic deposit" out of me.They refused to provide a clear, upfront quote, stating they had to ship my hardware to an external "laboratory" just to tell me the price. This is a classic predatory tactic designed to hold a customer's expensive hardware hostage, leaving them with no choice but to either accept an inflated repair bill or forfeit their $75 for absolutely nothing.Potential customers and the owners of Repairs Bay need to know that these actions directly violate multiple New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) regulations regarding deceptive trade practices:NYC Administrative Code § 20-700 (Deceptive Trade Practices): It is completely illegal to mislead consumers regarding the terms, necessity, or final cost of a service. Forcing an arbitrary diagnostic fee for a pre-defined, requested labor job without consent is highly deceptive.Failure to Post and Disclose Prices Upfront (NYC Rules Title 6): Service stores in NYC are legally required to clearly communicate total baseline fees and diagnostics before taking possession of a consumer's property. Demanding hidden "deposits" after a customer walks through the door is a direct violation.Bait-and-Switch & Junk Fees: Demanding a mandatory fee to send hardware away just to get a quote--when the customer explicitly asked for a simple, flat-rate component replacement--violates basic consumer rights regarding authorized work.A reputable repair shop must provide a flat price for a specific requested job and perform it. Any additional diagnostics or charges must be explicitly authorized by the client in writing beforehand. Repairs Bay operates as a predatory middleman that lacks the in-house BGA equipment to handle micro-soldering on-site, forcing hidden fees onto unsuspecting customers.I refused to fall for this scam and took my hardware back. If you value your time, money, and electronics, AVOID THIS PLACE. I will be filing an official complaint with the NYC DCWP and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to ensure their predatory practices are investigated.
