I never heard of this place until my husband bought a groupon for $75 to fix my ipad mini. First off, that's the original cost so that's not a savings at all. My ipad mini dropped by accident and the screen was cracked. It was still working fine except the glass was broken and you could easily get cut. Again, everything was working like normal and the screen was just cracked..that's all. The ipad was brought in for repair on a dead battery because I forgot to charge it. I get a call from the guy here who said the ipad was charged up and the crack actually caused a black spot on the screen. If I wanted this fixed it's an extra $75. I told him I played with the ipad numerous times after it fell and there was no black spot. He stayed quiet. He probably thought I never saw the screen after it fell...not the case. I told him no, dont fix it and I'll see what he's talking about when I pick it up. Went the next day to pick up and saw the round black spot. I told him this was not there when it fell. Again, he said nothing. I told him how did the black spot appear and he said from the drop. Um, no thats not the case and I told him this wasn't there. Again, he said nothing. Once I got home my husband was very upset and called the location. He spoke to the guy and told him this was a crappy job he did and asked how the spot appeared. He actually told my husband the spot got worse after he opened the ipad to fix it. Clearly the spot appeared after you attempted to fix the glass. Why should we pay to fix your mistake????!!!! He never offered to fix his mess. What kind of customer service do you provide? None apparently. We actually thought bringing my device here was a mistake and we shouldve went to kings plaza mall and had the kiosk people fix it or even my neighborhood guy who does good work with apple products. Now, I have to pay double to fix his mistake. I will not leave this here, I'll be looking to file a complaint with this so called company. I requested a quote through yelp to repair my LG V10 cracked screen. I got a reply in about an hour, the price was about $20 more than I could have bought the part on ebay and attempt to fix it myself. I'm good, but But I aint THAT good. I called Max to set up the repair. Without a deposit, he ordered the part and advised me it would be 4-5 business days. 3 business days later, I got a call that the part was in, I could come in anytime, and the repair would take about an hour, while I waited. Well, he lied. As much as I wanted to get my phone fixed and wanted to give this business my money I could not because I was met with a sign on the door that said I had to make an appointment through email. I tried to call the number on their sign which led me to a voicemail saying I needed to email to make an appointment. What's the point of having a storefront if I need to email to make an appointment? I was baffled by this and I felt like I was in the twilight zone. My 10 year old was beside himself. The 3DS would no longer charge. I looked online and the solution was to take it apart (with a very tiny screwdriver) and use a soldering iron (which we also don't have). The only place near us that we knew handled this kind of repairs had Yelp reviews that did not make me feel confident. So I made a trek to Cyber on U to see if they could help. Max let me know that this was out of his typical realm but he would take it apart and see if it was something he could fix (he has the right tools). While helping us, an elderly woman came to pick up a package (they also offer UPS Access Point pickup/drop off) and she was concerned about getting down the steps by herself much less with her package. Not a problem! He personally escorted her down (and the steps were also clear of snow and ice -- #Jonas2016 was just a few days earlier). Max let me know he would check out the unit and get back to me. Less than 24 hours later I received a call -- the 3DS was fixed! Max is a part of the old world Brooklyn I often forget still exists. One too many picklebacks later and BAM!!! GOODBYE iPhone 5S screen! :( I stumbled upon this place by accident while browsing Groupon during a long commute. Prices are GREAT! $65 on the site and it was one of those 20% off days so the total came out to be $52 (not including the $5.70 tax they charge when you get here). Regardless, it was still cheap compared to the rates other places charged. The process of replacing my screen took about 20 minutes or less. I liked that the guy fixes it right in front of you so you know he's not doing anything shady to your phone. People have told me horror stories about screws being stolen, parts being stolen, etc etc! He was not only quick, but honest in answering all my questions that were both related and unrelated to my shattered screen. He also replaces iPhone 6 screens too! I believe he said it was around $130, and if you check in on Yelp, there's a $10 off coupon. It's a bit of a journey for me to get here, but I would def come back if I had any other phone troubles. After two Apple "geniuses" insisted the problem with my iPhone 5 was not the battery, Max proved that it WAS the battery, and replaced it with a good one warrantied for a year. He also diagnosed a laptop wifi problem as a Win issue to be fixed by reinstalling Windows. Did that today, Max was right! I have 30+ years in IT, and though I am far from up to date, I have great tech bullshit radar, and you won't find any of it here (but do watch out for Apple). It was a short walk for me, so I took it there on my lunch break, hoping it would be done within a couple of hours. When I came in, Max told me it will take about 15 minutes for him to fix it, so I could just wait, which is what I did. As he was fixing my screen, he was showing me what was done wrong before and how to tell, which was great because I'm a total noob. But what I found out is if you do decide to use these deals, then they end up charging you higher prices to recoop the cost as I was quoted an initial price and after finding out about the deal that this store sold, my total was going to be higher because every part was now more expensive. I came in to replace a screen on my 4 months old phone. i paid 75$ and took the phone back happily. a few days later the new screen stoped working and i came back. Max took the phone, and after 3 weeks (!) said the problem was not the screen, and that the phone is broken. during the time he held the phone he told me twice to come pick it up, and when i came (20 min subway drive each direction) he told me that its actually not quit ready and that i should come another time (why did he tell me to come then?). The last time i was there i told him to send it to me when its ready (after twice i came and returned without the phone), and i paid another 20$ for the shipment.
