I have purchased several phones, an iPad, two watches and several accessories from this store. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and quickly answers my questions. Their genius bar is easy to access with online appointments. I have had several times when Apple devices have confounded me and I've needed to use their services. A couple times I've come in for potential repairs or warranty issues and they got me taken care of very quickly. They almost always have stock items for what I'm looking for. Love the fast and efficient checkout process and will continue to be a customer for years to come. read more

I've been to this store almost every time I come to Southcenter mall when I'm just browsing around or after eating and need to take a walk. The last time was because my Iphone battery finally was at a point where I can get a free battery from apple care. The phone was great and told me to get it fixed and even made the reservation at the apple store. I came in about 1/2 hour early to my 11am appointment and was greeted promptly by the friendly staff and they walked me back to the counter to have the phone checked in. It was so easy to check in and was done in less than 10 minutes. The agent told me to come back at 12:50pm and it would be done. I came back about 20 minutes early and again was promptly greeted and they looked up my phone and said it would be a bit more wait which I expected getting there early. I used the time to browse the Iphone 17's and found the Iphone Air to be what I would replace my Iphone 14 max pro when it comes time. Overall, great store, well staffed and they are friendly, smile and great treatment. The phone was taken directly to me in the store and was perfect in every way, now 100% battery capacity where it was 79%. Definitely the place to take the phone for service. My only advice is it takes 2 1/2 hours and since I was fasting and no phone it was a bit of a chore to wait. Next time, I'll bring a Ipad to attach to the Starbucks and chill there or bring a Kindle. read more

So we made the mistake of going to the mall on black Friday, but Apple was having a deal so my daughter wanted to meet at the Apple Store. Sure there was a little wait to get help but that was to be expected on Black Friday. At least it wasn't as long as finding parking or leaving the mall. Jeremiah helped my daughter get her new laptop for work, she got a free gift card with purchase so she purchased a new Apple Watch since hers is really old. She got another free gift card to use next time. She already knew what she wanted. Jeremiah was courteous and friendly. Plus very honest of what we should purchase and not purchase yet. While my daughter was being helped, I looked around for a cable to use for my car and recliner. I have an iPhone 16, but the new cables won't work for my car or recliner. So I guess I looked perplexed so this gentleman named Michael helped find the right one, and the most affordable one. Plus he showed me tips and tricks how to use my iPhones intelligence feature. I bought my phone while I was out of state and no one showed me how to use this feature! Oh my! Who knew what I can do. Michael created a monster. They eventually gave us a replacement phone days later but it's locked and no one can unlock it so we still can't use it! This seems like a crime!! I will report this to the AGs office! We had an appointment here today 10/5/24 for my daughter's phone with charging issues for her iPhone 15. For some reason the charge cord would not stay in the connection port. It was loose and would easily detach and not charge. One of the Apple agent (failed to obtain his name) seemed to know what to do. He explained that he would open the phone and clean up the area and it should be good. He was definitely on point. We tested it and the charger stayed in like it should. We also purchased an AirPods 4 for a great price of $129 Service was awesome. All in all. We were in and out within 30 minutes. read more

This was a mixed bag. I made a genius reservation and showed up early. There were several techs milling around with no customers so I asked if someone could assist me. I was told that to wait until my appointment time because they were all waiting for people. After another 5 minutes of me looking pathetic, two additional techs came over and asked if they could assist me. Two minutes to explain my issue, two minutes for the fix. I went to the Apple store in Southcenter to upgrade my iPhone 6 to something approaching current technology. On my first visit, a gentleman named Joe chatted with me and showed me some more-or-less budget-friendly options. I admitted to a bit of sticker shock and told him I'd need some time to think. He said that was not a problem, that associates were NOT on commission, and when I was ready, anyone could help me. A couple of days later and ready to buy, I headed back to the store and was assisted by a very capable associate named Arven. He also presented options, listened to how I use my phone (photos and the occasional video, minimal apps, almost no video streaming) and agreed that my choice of phone would meet my needs. He obtained a phone from their stock, helped make the transfer of my apps, contacts, etc., from my old phone, and had me on my way much more quickly than I expected. He was polite, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I'd recommend the store -- and Arvin -- highly, though I would suggest going in on a weekday, as weekends tend to be crazy. read more

My very "with it" 94-year-old mother and my brother went to this store yesterday to buy a new iPhone for my mother, and Marshall "helped" them. He actually did not help and did not seem to know anything. He was disrespectful, seemed bored, and indicated he did not want to be there. He did not seem to want to help her as his eyes wandered around the store, he spoke to other people as they walked by, and he did not answer her questions. (My brother was with her, and he concurs.) She says, "He was not interested in helping me and gave me the impression that he could not get rid of me fast enough." He was also dancing around and never stood still. Ageism? He was sloppy and kept pulling up his pants (his underwear showed) and messing with his beanie. He also said that she HAD to buy either the insurance program or a case. Is that true? I have never been given that ultimatum before. He would not sell her the phone unless she bought one or the other. My mother gets along with everyone and is an excellent communicator. She did not appreciate Marshall's unprofessional and dismissive behavior. read more

Thinking about upgrading your phone? Go to your carrier or avoid this Apple Store. Everyone who works here is nice enough and seems attentive as I'm sure they are well compensated. I came here to diagnose an issue with my screen and issues with feedback. I originally thought I would just need a screen replacement but after hearing a screen would cost $200 while an upgrade was just 2x that amount, I foolishly elected for the upgrade. Big mistake on my end. I backed up my phone preemptively, then during the actual purchase of the phone the associate (I think) tried backing it up as well but who knows because he was moving so quickly between screens (time is money, right?). Fast forward to when I start trying to recover my new phone from the cloud and it fails like 8 times. Each time takes like 5 or so minutes. The associate I'm with gets relieved by a new associate and this poor guy does his best to help me get back what he can while I am close to tears and mid-panic attack. I ended up having to start from scratch, re-downloading apps, trying to recover passwords but failing bc Google has become so secure it's almost impossible recovering your password when the Apple Store somehow F's up the transition to your new phone. I spent 3 hours, without exaggeration, at that store only to leave in tears because I was told I had to figure out on my own how to recover passwords for my life. When I got back to my car I realized on my own that my phone wasn't receiving or sending text messages. So basically Apple upgraded me from a phone with just issues with feedback from the screen and let me walk out the door with a phone that wasn't fully functional. Terrible. This is, for sure, a ridiculous first world problem. I'll recover those passwords eventually and I did figure out how to enable texting. But only after investing additional time to do so which shouldn't be the case for a routine phone upgrade. I've upgraded my phone at a phone carrier previously and I think I'll stick to that in the future because I've never had issues there. read more

Excellent staff; noisy setting. I signed up for a training session for my new iphone which would have been amazing if the store had not been incredibly loud. While I appreciate that Apple offers these sessions, I could not hear the instructor or concentrate in a mob scene. On the plus side, every Apple store employee was polite, knowledgeable and helpful. However, store security needs to limit the number of people allowed into the store or Apple company needs to rent a bigger store. read more

Wow, where do I even start with Mathew, the so-called "manager"? Total disaster. This guy acts like he knows everything, and his attitude towards Asian customers is straight-up hostile. I went in to pick up multiple iPhone 16s, and while waiting, I asked him a simple question about a phone case warranty. Without even thinking, he just flat-out said, "No." Like, what do you mean, "No"? I bought the case, and it's already peeling--I just wanted to know if it's covered under warranty. But nope, Mathew didn't even bother to check. Fine, whatever, I don't have time to argue. Later, while my kid was playing on a computer, I tried out the camera on my new iPhone 16. Mathew just happened to be in the shot, so I adjusted my angle to focus on my son because, honestly, I didn't want his unfriendly face in my pics. But then, he comes over and says, "You can't take pictures of people." I was like, "What are you talking about? That's my son!" And then he hits me with, "This is a public space, and you can't take photos." Really? Is this guy for real? I started thinking, how did this unqualified guy even land a manager role? I asked him, "Aren't you selling iPhones with cameras? If people can't even test out the cameras, how are you expecting to sell them?" But instead of answering, he called security on me, trying to kick me out. Like, seriously, Apple, THIS is who you trust to run your store? This is my second review in two days. The first was one star since I couldn't get a hold of any human on a phone. Today however I was able to talk to three people at the Genius Bar who were all very polite and understanding of my situation (I had overshot my return period on a machine I bought). I walked out with my new, higher-level machine in 20 mins, and some advice on the migration trouble I'd been having too. Very pleased. This was however on a Wednesday morning, shortly after they opened, so they weren't swamped. Note that this store is usually REALLY busy. read more

For supporting such a great product this place is struggling. I do not recommend. They are arrogant and can't follow their own stated process. If you have to go to an Apple store make the trip to another one in the seattle area! I tried several times with an appointment to get my screen fixed and had trouble dealing with them every step of the way. I first was told that the fix would take longer than they originally stated on the appointment (3 hours instead of the hour and half I had planned). They said come in early in the morning when they open. Typically they are only able to get it done in 1.5 in the morning because they get backed up!?!? I did as they instructed they lost my reservation from prior. When I did get to see some I was told my support coverage was expired and then later found out it wasn't when I learned on my own how to check it. Never again! read more

I checked for the specific configuration of iphone11pro online for a few days, and yesterday the search result popped out that Apple Southcenter mall has it available for pick up, so I place the order right away (and make the payment online), and selected the timeslop to pick up at 1:30 -2. To avoid traffic jam, I decidied to head start a bit early, so I end up arrived the store at 12:45pm. However, I was confused that store is pretty empty (there were more people working there than customer), but at the same time, there is a waiting line right in front of the door. So I approached the game who seems like the applestore employee, and asked him, if the line outside for new iphone pick up. Applestore Employee:"What exactly are you here for?" me: "I ordered a new iphone11 online, and here to pick it up" Applestore Employee: "What you did you scheduled to pick up"? me: I am a bit early. I selected 1:30 - 2pm. Applestore Employee: "Come back at 1:25pm. We are still processing people from previous time slot". This series of conversation seem normal, but if you put that mean attiude and hatre facial expression, I'd feel I just beek kicked out of the place. It wasn't feel pleasant at all. But I wasn't trying to make a scene over a mean boy, so I decided to find a place to have a quick lunch before heading back. I returned at 1:20pm again, and was instructed to show the Apple Employee my order barcode, and then was instructed to entered into a waiting line outside of the store. I waited for approximately 45 min outside in the line while the store inside was practically empty of customer (approximately ~10-15 employees vs 1-2 customers who were not there picking up iphones like the rest of us), and they seems like setting up a timer to allow one employee to come out to help people on the line every 10-15 min. My interpretation of this is that iphone11 doesn't generate the hype like it used to, so they are trying to help themselve to "make the scene" by forcing the paying customers to wait on the line outside intentionally so try to help them look good..... I think I paid over $1000 to them to becoming their free "extra" of their freak show..... Hey Apple, it seems like you've lose the edge on mobile technologies to your competitiors, and there are all kinds of problems on the software that you build, and now you trying to piss off people who actually still spend money on your shit? On the rarity of rating a 1, I would be ranting and venting but then I waited til the next day to write this review so I'm all chilled and couldn't muster the energy to be hissy anymore. I got there at 3:40pm for technical support on my current iPhone and getting a new iPhone and getting a new Apple Watch for my niece. The purchasing new iPhone and Apple Watch was super quick and efficient and them collecting my $$$$ was also quite efficient. But the appointment for the tech support was a total flop. Once they got mah $$$ for all new purchases, they were quite quick to kick me out of the store ..."you can come back tomorrow blah blah blah" it's been over an hr, I don't want to come back tomorrow and I made appt for a reason!!!! I don't want to have to come back the next day and waste more time at the store that was packed like a sardine can and my 13 yrs niece said smelled like the gym locker! With an appointment and yet didn't get my phone back til 7:30pm after a battery replacement. The tech that checkout wasn't the nicest guy in the bunch if not outright obnoxious. Apple really need to open another store outside of the mall to split of the traffic. It's ridiculous on the wait, and maybe that's the excuse as to why the tech act so entitled. Great experience! The store was crowded as usual is definitely always clean and neat still despite the foot traffic. I came in to get my daughters phone fixed because a tip of the charger came off and her iPhone 14 Pro. Despite the line the host was able to get attempt to fix quickly before having me go with the next guy. He walked me over to Darryl who immediately assisted us and had GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The host at first was unable to see the piece but after Darrell took it to the back within like five minutes, he identified that it was in there and was able to remove it and since a pretty easy fix there was no charge. He just recommended for me to purchase a charger obviously since that was the problem. I was so stressed because prior to me coming in when I tried to schedule an appointment for service it said nothing was available until the following day at 3:30 but I took a chance and had a great outcome.and will definitely always go there. read more

And these people just arrived. I was upset so I just left. And now I can't get my help unless I go to another store. It's just a big fat waste of time guys. They worked with us to find a solution for our daughter's computer issue and we weren't charged for options they tried that didn't work. I ordered a reconditioned iphone and, although the carrier said it was "cleaned", it had a "passcode" required and the carrier said there was nothing they could do and said I needed to talk to Apple. Truly, the absolutely worst Apple store on the planet earth! I hate hate hate hate this lovation! Fortunately, I don't have a lot of problems or issues with my Apple products and when I do have a problem, I usually go to Tacoma or U/village. This is the closest one to my house so I didn't feel like driving in traffic so I came to this location. The managers are the nastiest most condescending rude, unhelpful, unprofessional "Geniuses" I've ever come across. I spend thousands of dollars on Apple products every year and they treated me like I was a homeless urchin who was going to try to take advantage of them. I ended up spending close to two hours in the store and walked away with a a $1500 phone that still doesn't work correctly. I will have to go to another location and hopefully they'll have somebody who is helpful, compassionate, understanding, empathetic, and knows how to do their job and will just replace my phone that doesn't work! read more

I went in to buy an iPhone for my mom today. I was put on their waiting list and stood there waiting to purchase the phone I wanted. I needed no consultation. No advice. Just wanted to spend $500. Three employees, including two managers stood nearby doing nothing. The two managers watched the others work and occasionally answered questions from people not on the queue. People who had arrived after me. I spoke to the one manager who finally decided to serve me. I told them exactly what I needed. I also asked her why staff, especially managers, would just stand around and not help customers waiting to purchase. Plenty of excuses came my way, and plenty of passive aggressive comments defending their system. I don't have a issue with a first come first serve system. I do have an issue when a company, of which I am a public shareholder, doesn't subscribe to higher standards of customer service. Managers don't get paid to stand around as customers wait. Or perhaps they do at Apple? There is a growing arrogance with Apple employees that I've observed since I first started purchasing Apple products 4 decades ago. Loyalty is earned. You're kind of trapped once you have an iPhone. They scare me into only using authorized dealers for repair, but then they are free to charge whatever they want. My hands are tied. My most recent visit I needed to replace my battery. Lots of questions, while transcribing into their iPad, to go through the process. You also need to prove you are who your phone thinks you are - by signing out of fInd my phone with your apple id. I get it - lots of stolen merch out there. I wouldn't rate customer service too high, but after my 3+ hour visit, they ended up making things right. I had added a repair to my cracked screen as an afterthought, moments after they took my phone back, and they said they'd add it to the order. A couple hours later, battery was replaced, no screen replacement. The tech said they could squeeze it in, with an additional 30 min wait. Sure, yeah, no prob. After another 45+ min, I was hunting down anyone to give me a status. I was finally told that my screen was replaced but the phone wasn't coming back on. More waiting, trouble shooting. In the end, they ended up replacing my phone and comping the services, thankfully. AND, I had done a backup, so yay! Pro-tip: BACKUP your phone before the Apple Store visit! read more

Had an appointment a few days ago to purchase an iPad Air and maybe an Apple Pencil. Got there early, they check your temperature and have masks in case yours isn't adequate or you didn't think of wearing one... during a pandemic. So good points there. Checking in was easy and we didn't wait too long. The sales person comes by, I tell him what I'm after and he takes us over to the iPad Air I was looking for. He answers a couple of questions but spent most of the time distracted by his phone or other employees. Now, I don't need to be coddled, didn't need him to hold my hand but at least act like you care for the 10-15min I'm there. I had to repeat myself a few times because he was looking at his phone. I didn't buy my iPad there, I played around with different models and I'm ordering one online instead. Honestly didn't want any commission (if they get them) to go to him. #petty read more

If you are trading in your Apple phone for an upgrade and they tell you your phone is worth a certain amount, be forewarned. Specifically at this Apple Store, they can come back even after a few days and tell you your phone has an 'internal' defect and so even after you've closed the transaction and gone home with your new iPhone, they will bill you the difference for what they think the value should be...again, this is AFTER you've signed the contract and taken the new phone home. Your only option at that point is to return the new phone (which you just got used to and bought accessories for)...or pay up. Gotcha! Read on if you want to know my experience. Here's the story: I buy a new iPhone 14 online, they tell me my trade in is worth $210 (iPhone 11). I tell them I'll pick up the new phone and bring my trade in to this store. I show up, they give me the new phone. I pay. They take my old phone. Two days later after countless hours setting up my new phone and buying new accessories for it, they call me saying they haven't done the trade in even though they've had my old phone for 48 hours. I have to come in. So I come in...whoa! They have a new requirement not mentioned during sale. Aside from your trade in being in good condition and everything working when you turned it in, it now has to pass a 'diagnostic' test...and mine failed. Diagnostic software says it has a defect in the camera which is unseen to the human eye and has no effect on operations...(since I have been using the camera up to the time I traded it in ). So they reduce the trade in amount from $210 to $55. Note that this is 2 days after we had completed ALL paperwork, thrown away my old device protector, purchased new accessories for the new phone and spent hours setting it up. And they've had sole possession of my phone for 48 hours. I refuse the deal out of principle and return the new iPhone and get my old phone back. I figure there was nothing wrong with my old phone in the first place. It doesn't end there. Next day, I show up to the genius bar to find out what was really wrong with the phone, you know, to have it fixed since I have Apple Care. 3 times they ran the diagnostic, even with the same trade in diagnostic process and 3 times the software said there was nothing wrong with my old phone. Moral of the story: 1. Don't believe them when they say they'll give you a certain amount for your trade in. Have them run their 'diagnostic' test first to let you know how much they really want to pay. Get it in writing and make sure it's final and they conclude the trade in process fully. 2. If your phone looks and works fine and they say there's something wrong with it because the diagnostic software says so, don't believe them. Tell them to run it again. You might just find that the next run will produce different results. Yes, their software is faulty. Even they admitted that sometimes it says there's something wrong with a customer's phone and sometimes it doesn't. I experienced it. If you're unlucky like I was that first night, Apple gets to pay you a smaller amount for your trade in. If their software is being honest, they'll give you the proper maximum trade in amount. This is not a ding on Apple products, it's more a criticism of the Apple Store (specifically Southcenter). Their manager admitted they made a mistake of not checking my phone out before concluding the transaction. If I were management at that store, I would eat that cost rather than telling the customer to come back in and drop a bombshell on them for their mistake. Retail stores do that all the time. Poor management. Poor vision. Be wary when dealing with that store. Although I doubt if managers actually have the power to make that decision. I imagine corporate wants to nickel and dime their Apple followers (that's another subject)... Hopefully, this post makes you consumers more aware when dealing with Apple Store, or any other phone store. I had such high respect for Apple stores but now I see them just like any retail outlet, doing everything to make a buck off their customers. read more

Today, I went to the Apple store to trade in my 2015 Macbook Pro for the newer version. I got there around opening and was informed I needed an appointment to go shopping. I waited for about 1.5 hrs for my appointment and then was seen by a specialist. They processed my old Macbook Pro for a credit and applied to my new purchase. My bank didn't allow the purchase (above the limit) and I had to wait to speak to someone from the bank for 10 minutes. I informed the specialist and he said it was okay and we could wait. I was thankful for his patience because otherwise I would have to make another appointment to get the product I wanted. Great customer service and Covid 19 precautions. I stood around for 20 minutes after what appeared to be the front end manager said she was going to get me help. I was having a serious issue and had my lap top open while waiting. She ends up walking up to me and asking if I had been helped. I told her I had been waiting 20 minutes while she was supposed to be the one finding someone for me. There was a surprising lack of knowledge on her end and after speaking with an Apple employee over the phone, this location had given me blatantly incorrect information. I like Apple products but the shopping experience is awful. They are short-staff. It is hard to find a person to get help getting help since being redirected takes an appointment. This last time the next appointment is 3 days away. I can't even ask a simple question without an appointment, I'm not talking about technical questions, I'm just referring to retail policy questions. I do not want to support Apple products after so many frustrating experiences but I've cornered myself because I created an Apple ecosystem for myself already.
