About 2 weeks ago, I had the exterior sprayed by John (he took his time and did a great job). Last week I noticed tiny black ants on my vanity in the bathroom. I called the office and spoke to LaVell she was so nice and sent Chandler to treat the ants. Chandler took the time to explain that these very tiny ants lIke fragrant items and that I shouldn't use lemon scented cleaning products on the counter top. They are also attracted to toothpaste. No wonder Apple Pest control has been in business since 1984. You should be very proud of your staff, for providing such excellent customer service. Rare these days! read more

I've used this company in the past and had a positive experience, but unfortunately, my most recent interaction was extremely disappointing. After a recent appointment, I had some important questions and concerns. I called multiple times over the course of three weeks trying to get in touch with someone--each time I was told someone would call me back. That call never came. I left messages, followed up, and continued to be given the runaround with zero accountability. Eventually, I had to give up after wasting far too much time. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It's clear that customer care is no longer a priority for this company. I won't be using their services again and would recommend others look elsewhere--there are far more reliable, Reasonable, and responsive companies out there that actually value their clients. I haven't had a chance to sit down and review Apple Pest Control until today, but they came to our home in January after we experienced what we thought was a sewage issue. A plumbing company (Anchor Plumbing, whom I'd also recommend) advised that it was likely a rodent that had died in our vent. When I called, the dispatcher advised she might be able to move some stops around and squeeze me in that same day. She empathized with my frustration in trying to diagnose and eliminate the smell. Not even a half hour later, she called and said they'd be by at or around noon. The employee Apple Pest Control sent out quickly located the carcass, removed what he could and provided best course of action moving forward. While I appreciate quality service, what made the experience even more positive was how personable and honest the technician was, and how accommodating the dispatcher was. Inconsiderate of customers time, poor communication. I was scheduled 8-noon TODAY. At 11:45 am i still hadn't heard anything so I decided to call since I had many things I needed to get done. Apple apologizes and said the technician is running behind, would I be home in another 45 minutes- "NO, I'm not sitting around waiting anymore......" DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I acquired their services on 5/01/25 to remove birds and nesting from my three bathroom vents on the side of my home. (Stan) the tech quoted me $100 per vent and I agreed. When the job was done he charged me $357. + tax which came out to $386.45. I had to sign to process the payment. Just under three weeks later I heard birds in my upstairs bathroom again, and found that the birds broke through the screen that was supposed to be secured behind the vent to prevent re-entry. I called on 5/21/25 to notify them so someone can come fix the issue. They sent someone on 5/23/25 and stated that I did not need to be home. When I got home from work that day I checked my email and found that they charged my card without authorization or my signature. I immediately called and they said they would talk to management (Chandler) and get the situation resolved and I would get a phone call by the end of the day which I did not. I called the next day 5/24/25 and was told I would receive a refund and I still have not received a dime. It is now the night of 5/29/25. I had to dispute the charge with my bank which resulted in deactivating my debit card and now have to deal with updating my payment information on everything. They fraudulently charged my debit card for a job that was not done right the first time and refuse to issue a refund. It's bad enough I got over charged for the first job! read more

Houston, TX 77092 Apple is the Company my Apartment has contract with. I have Bed Bugs and the Guy was in there the first time 15 minutes to inspect. I was about 85% prepared for them because you almost have to move out and I am 71. The second visit I was completely ready I had to move everything out of closets, clothes had to be in bags and couldn't be on floor, furniture out from wall 3 feet even hangers had to be out of closets. Then the guy shows up and is only in there for 10 minutes. Report comes back no live bed bugs but I still am being bite. I have to pay since it is Bed bugs. They can't even get rid of my Roaches either read more

Bait and switch. Quoted a low price over the phone and then came out and performed the service and the bill was DOUBLE the price that I was quoted. They said I had different kind of ants. OK, then QUOTE ME a new price and let me decide if it is worth it to me. Did the office person tell us the price would double? NO. Did the onsite technician tell us? NO. We found out when we got our credit card statement. Called the office manager who said too bad and that their pricing is fair. Except for one part we never agreed to that pricing. I recently had exterior pest treatment. When I made the appointment I was quoted the price of $129.00. The final receipt had a price of $159.00. I called Apple Pest Control and asked for an adjustment to the quoted price. CS rep admitted misquoting the price yet refused to make the adjustment to the originally quoted price. I used this company 2 years ago as a precaution of what I thought might be carpenter ants. Technician came out, explained they were not carpenter ants or a wood destroying ant but remedied the problem. He came out once and treated the exterior only for $99. That was it, no more visits, no more problems. Until 3 weeks ago. I started having those same ants in the usual spot, as well as a couple of other type of small bugs. I called and explained my situation, was offered a $200 heavy perimeter treatment that was supposed to take care of ants, general insect control. The technician this time took less than 20 minutes when the first visit took at least 35-40 minutes. You can imagine my frustration 3 weeks later when the situation has not resolved, as I had to kill a spider 2 days ago, the ants are still present and I found one of the same bugs I called about in my bathroom. Now they want me to pay $100 extra to solve a problem that should've been encompassed in a $200 treatment. Apparently, I was charged twice back in 2020 as well for a visit that only happened once? As you can see in the text, along with other discrepancies. Lesson learned, never go with a company that does not offer a free respray or warranty with their work. read more

Had them for lawn care and the weeds are out of control. The spring treatment didn't work this year and neither did the summer application. Called them and they said that they charge to come out to correct the problem they should have fixed in the first place. Previous lawn services came back and reapplied for free. My first time trying to evict something besides insects. I called several of the pest control companies I have used before but surprisingly they did not evict small mammals! I called Apple pest control because of their reviews. George came very quickly and checked out where I thought ceatures could be getting in at and we ran into a small issue about him getting into the attic/crawl space. He did not think his ladder would fit and mine definitely would not so he was just going to put a trap like device over the hole that we believe they were coming in. I went back into the garage and managed to move two more things and convinced him that the ladder would fit and he did go up into the attic/crawlspace to check things out. He couldn't get to the area near the hole but he did not see any signs of animals in the areas that he could get to. So he did put the trap, A one-way excluder over what we believe to be the access port. He left it there for about a week and returned today to remove it. Sadly my handyman was indisposed and could not arrive until tomorrow so George put a mesh over the hole as a temporary solution. These guys were prompt and made sure I understood that it's all problematic if nothing ends up in the trap. He was very clear about setting expectations and cost. He was friendly and when I had my mask on so did he. The $193 is for the initial examination and game plan and installing the excluder. They do one return visit to remove the trap. If I hear anything in the ceiling again within 30 days they will return for an additional fee that is less than the initial examination fee. I would hire them again and I will if I hear anything in the ceiling. read more

They protected my home with essential oils and it seriously worked. I have a 5year old daughter so I was so worried when I saw strange scary bee types of hornet or something on my back door kmob and had a play date scheduled later that day. I made the call they came out SAME day removed the scary stinger-clad insects, used essential oils inside and made me feel comfortable with my surroundings again!! I so wanted to leave a better review (but I feel obligated to tell it like it is) because Apple Pests' owner, who is also the Senior tech, WAS very nice and professional and came out relatively quickly (in 2 days) to try to trap the squirrel (I purchased their rodent trapping service) as I had heard loud rustling for a few days in my inaccessible attic area. Unfortunately over 3 weeks, nothing was caught in the first one , and then two , placed traps set on the roof right by the only entrance hole the tech found (even though the squirrel re-entered the home days later right by the first roof trap after that trap was set). Obviously no one can guarantee an animal will enter a trap, but just know I paid over $500 for 3 total visits that caught nothing , but Apple did plug the one roof entry hole found ( but that was only about $100 of the $500). There is no activity in attic anymore at this point....So that's good, but if they don't have the knowledge, and or perhaps bait, and or perhaps best equipment ( traps) to accomplish critter trap and remove success, (or maybe it's only takes sheer luck anyway to catch a squirrel) in 3 weeks, I'd recommend one just wait till no noise is noticed in attic as squirrels ( or raccoons) do leave daily to feed outside) and just get a less than $80/hr handyman to locate and plug the hole or two on your roof and/or install an exclusion door, where it's obvious the critter enters. That should cost far less than half of $500+, which is the absolute minimum you will pay with Apple if they set one trap and seal one hole, even if their trapping methods fail. It's also important to know I was charged $89+ for them to come out when they decided unilaterally to give up trying to trap the squirrel to remove and take away their empty, never caught anything, traps . I was under the impression the trap final removal visit was included in the initial $289 trap setting charge...but no, it's an additional charge as my final invoice clearly states. Sooo, one star for their relatively quick response service and respectful/knowledgeable owner, one star for good job locating/plugging the one entry hole found, but no additional stars because it was a last minute surprise to pay an extra $89+ just for them to recollect their empty trap(s), and their failure in that their expertise did not result in any trapped rodent(s) , and a bit of a lack of customer service of the office staff when discussing my confusion of why the final empty trap retrieval visit surprise $89 fee was not part of the initial rodent trap setting $289 fee. Seemed logical to me if you pay Apple a " rodent trapping fee" to set a trap/catch a critter, it should obviously include their final trip to remove the trap once their service ends, with an animal in it, or no animal in it (as in my case). I'd be happy to post my third and final Apple invoice I received that clearly indicates in it in their words that their visit today charge was for "Trap Pick-up Service-Final" at $89+ tax. Bottom line, I'm not saying Apple Pest are bad folks, as I leaned a lot about squirrel behavior from them, just that they're very expensive for likely not catching and removing from your area the problem roof entry critter, at least in my case (and others too apparently per other reviews). Also, Apple requires you provide your credit card BEFORE they will ever come out. That seemed highly unusual to me as well. Smarter to get a cheaper handyman to plug roof/soffit holes and save yourself hundreds of $ vs the obvious low probability of actually trapping the offending squirrel, IMHO. That's what I'll do next time I hear attic noises. read more

I hired apple pest control for my house and they charged $300 for squirrel and rodent control. They stopped by once to set up a couple traps and nothing was caught. Stated would come back with different bate which never happened. They stated to main office that entry point were sealed that never happened. When I called to see when they where coming back they wanted to charge more. Do not hire worst $300 I have spent hire someone else and save yourself the bad experience. read more

We had a skunk spray under our house after a big storm, and our landlords called Apple. They were here within 2hrs, and did a very thorough investigation as to where it came from. They set some traps, and put an ionizer in the house for the horrid smell. They came by every day to check the traps and move them around for a better chance of catching it. After 5 days of trying to catch it, I noticed a new smell coming from under our porch. I immediately knew it was dead. We called their after hours at 7pm and someone was here within the hour. They had to take out some floor boards to get to it, but they put them all back perfectly, and you can't even tell they were here! Skunk is gone, they put some organic oils on it to help kill maggots, and flies, and smells fading. I just have to add, I talked to every single person they sent over, and they were all the nicest, most caring people to talk to. They truly care about the animals, and it helped me to know they would release them if they caught them. I would recommend them again and again! read more

I had been using Apple Pest Control (endorsed by Dave Ramsey) for a couple of years now and I always received friendly and great service. However, recently I had my standard treatment completed on June 17, 2017 (for $117 incl tax), and with all of the recent rain and pests looking for water, I had more pests than usual. I called on 08/10/17 to report I had pests and it's been less than 3 months since my last service (their "warranty") but all I received was an option to pay for a bi-monthly service for $109.00 or wait until I can get a quarterly service next month for $89.00 and let the pest problem continue until them. Apple Pest Control didn't offer to honor their 3 month warranty promise; so now I have to say that their work on 07/17/2017 didn't last more than two months before I had a pest problem again. Unfortunately I have to leave Apple Pest Control for more reliable service that honors their warranty promises. read more

Apple Pest Control came to our home to remove a skunk from our garage which was full because we had just moved in. It was a tricky one so the tech placed a cage with cat food and the next morning the skunk was caged. The great thing about Apple Pest Control is they remove your rodent and relocate it 15 miles away. If you are looking for a great company this is one for you. We are new to the area and had called around. The prices were terrible. Came to Yelp and there was Apple great price and they care about your situation. read more

very disappointed in the quality of customer service that I received from this company. 1. the time it took for them to respond to my inquiry was longer than what I expected for a customer interested in their services 2. Company did not want to send me tyoes of services they offer along with costs(red flag but still proceeded) 3. Company did not honestly provide detailed information when describing costs and treatment 4 company had to return to re-treat since first application was unsuccessful then later stated the type of service I purchased for $151 only covered a specific proximity around the house , but as a courtesy , they would re-treat 5. the second treatment was unsuccessful, i had more ant hills than before they came out. I took pictures and called , emailed and texted without a response 6. Company only responded after posting my review on Google, with which , still has not returned my calls to address paying for services that were not delivered 7. I asked for a refund or try a final treatment and have heard nothing! 8. They are aware of the urgency in needing pest control and from this point will need to pay another company for services! This company does not stand by their promises on customer satisfaction nor are they responsible or professional enough to make things right. Don't waste your time or energy with Apple Pest control. The headaches are not worth $151!! A big name pest control company told us we had rats in our attic so we paid them $750 out of desperation to get rid of them. After a month of catching nothing, they wanted to charge another $700 to seal our house and add poison! We said no way and thankfully stumbled upon Apple. They were at my house the same day and caught the squirrel (yes squirrel not a rat) in a week for a fraction of the cost of the other company! We are so mad for not calling them first. I recently paid $166.71 for services from Apple Pest Control due to a few ants in my bathroom with a strong recommendation from Dave Ramsey whom I listen to each day. Boy is Mr. Ramsey WRONG on these people. After two months they called to schedule the next quarterly service and I advised them that I had seen a decline in the ants but the spiders and other bugs it seemed as if there was an increase in their numbers. I was advised that there was a two month warranty on their services (convenient for them) and due to the weather there has been an influx of bugs coming in. Sounds to me like what their using ain't working! After voicing my displeasure I was advised that they would talk to their manager and get back in touch with me. No phone call as of yet. Unfortunately I will have to take Mr. Ramsey's endorsements with a grain of salt. As mentioned in other reviews these people are hustlers and do not back their services.
