They are the worst. You will have to come back 3-5 times back and forth just to get your phone repaired. Terrible service and this store and the manager that runs it are aweful. They are slow as heck and treat you like you hardly exist. Honestly in my 55 years of living some of the worst service in history and I will be filing a complaint with corporate. Both times I entered to solve an issue with my MacBook Pro I encountered great professionals. First guy immediately greeted me, listened, walked me through what to seek at the Genius Bar appt and set me up. At my later appointment Davion moved me through the core issues and got me set up to do the photos scroll for my FIL's 90th birthday coming up. I must say, my experience was amazing. Recently had my phone device transferred into my name. Prior to this, when it was in my spouse's name- the iCloud account was in his name as well. For years, it was frustrating to have our phone logs, photo libraries synced, and for awhile- text messages. Even our phone contacts merged- and although we had some phone contacts of our mutual friends- they became duplicated in our contact list. For me, I never had an email address all these years- and it was something I set up a few days prior to my visit at Apple. Thankfully when we arrived on a Sunday morning, we got here when the store first opened- and didn't have an appointment. Jenkins was so professional. He made sure he took the time to explain step by step what he was doing to help my situation. I get pretty overwhelmed at times, especially with things that are new to me. I bought a new Apple Watch Series 9 in July 2024 to replace my Apple Watch Series 4 because I needed the increased watch storage for my music. When I finally needed to use the new charging cable it didn't work (I had just sold my old Apple Watch Series 4 and included that Apple Watch charging cable to the buyer). Call to Apple 800# yielded no assistance but did get an appointment at the Genius Bar / Apple Store in Otay Ranch area. Two different employees of the Apple Store verified my charging cable did not work. But, they did NOT have a replacement cable to give me. But, they DID have a charging cable they could SELL me for over $31! [Huh????] BUT I HAD TO BRING BACK THE CHARGING CABLE I JUST PURCHASED WHEN MY APPLE WATCH CHARGING CABLE ARRIVED TO GET A REFUND. Few days later I am notified my new Apple Watch Charging Cable has arrived. I pack up the new charging cable I purchased in the box I received it in and head to the Apple Store. Upon arrival they issue me a credit for the new cable I bought when I hand it over and show the receipt. BUT THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME MY REPLACEMENT APPLE WATCH CHARGING CABLE THAT JUST ARRIVED!!! Now, I learn at this point, I needed to ALSO keep and return with the VERIFIED BROKEN, USELESS charging cable if I wanted my new replacement charging cable. I had left that broken cable at the Apple Store during my first visit and they told me I didn't! They bring out employees to verify I am a liar and finally the Manager who humiliated me basically calling me a thief and a liar over a $31 BROKEN, DYSFUNCTIONAL, Apple Watch charging cable THAT THEY HAD VERIFIED WAS NOT WORKING. I have had only OK to good experiences at this Apple Store but I have never, ever heard of a policy that requires customers to take home their broken stuff and BE FORCED to bring it back to receive the replacement when it arrives (just glad it wan't a refrigerator!). But, for the cost of a $31 replacement Apple Watch Charging Cable they have lost a customer because they kept insinuating I was trying to scam them or steal from them because I did not return with the BROKEN CHARGING CABLE. [NOTE: I have owned many Apple products like multiple iPhones, multiple Apple Watches, multiple iPods, laptop, iPad, etc. going back to the original Mac Classic]. I soooooo want to give this particular Apple Store three stars but that wouldn't be fair. My reason is because this mall in which it is located is a ZOO!! At least on the Sunday I went to pick up my order, it took me longer to find a place to park than it did to check in and get my two phone accessories inside the store itself! Well, I can't gripe and take a star away for that because that isn't totally Apple's fault. Inside the Apple Store, everything was as it should be. In fact, this one had more interior space than others I've been to in recent times. It held the the high number of people inside very well and I never felt claustrophobic feeling. But I just can't get off that feeling of circling the parking lot like Apollo 11 circling the moon! Overall, I was very impressed with how Apple used the space in the store. They had many Items from other brands - like Mophie, Belkin, DJI Osmo, etc. Also, Genius Bar was intact - a truly full-service Apple Store! It was a great visit as I was there to pick up two accessories for my new iPhone 13 Pro - an incredible iPhone!! I can say the parking aggravation was worth it! This is my first time visiting Apple Store. It's so crowded with so many members ready to assist. customer service is very outgoing, helpful, and knowledgeable. I really enjoy the fact you don't have to wait long before getting helped. When I walk in I was assisted after 2min of arriving which is amazing. I love all the demos and products in stock. I came in here because my brand new tablet stopped working. I appreciate the team having techs onsite to fix issues like these. This location also has a ton of products in stock which saves online shopping and shipping costs and delays. I purchase a keyboard for my tablet and loved that it was ready to go. Overall an amazing experience here don't feel discouraged if you see lots of people. This store has Tom of staff ready to help with minimal wait time. Highly recommend a visit. read more

I don't even know where to start. Just avoid yourself the hassle of dealing with unprofessional staff. Reason for visit : pick up repaired item Communication is lacking from the floor tech to the supervisor/advisor. Professionalism is absent: they go to the extend of telling you their phone lines do not work so one can't call to do what they are asking you to do . ( have your mom call to authorize you to pick up , but our phones are not working so she has to come in ???) . Isaac was the guy speaking to me not helping at all . Seemed that he forgot its a pandemic and some can't leave their homes while quarantine. Long story short , everyone from the tech ( Isaac ) to front door guy to supervisor "Bernice" useless ... they had no intention to be helpful , no alternatives to help me when their phones were not Working, I had my mom on the line and they refused to speak to her, they talked over me and were redundant with their words every time I tried saying something to Isaac he had the same sentence " she needs to come in show her Id and she can pick up her watch" over and over and that is unprofessional. I was their being turned away while my mom was on the phone hearing everything that was going on and calling 629-205-6400 to speak to someone who actually help her by transferring call to the store . An advisor at the local store picked up her call without letting her give my name and instead he told her to wait to speak to a technician ... and they of-course hanged up after telling her a technician would pick up call after keeping her on hold ... they picked up the line twice & put her back on hold to eventually disconnect her call. So Mom called them again and explained the unprofessional situation and asked that they stay on the line with her until the manager answered and took my name. I Left without being able to pick up item and had to go back within 5 minutes of leaving . Mom spoke to Bernice whom I also spoke with and this women is something else as well . Exactly when I git home U heard mom saying my name about five times because this women kept asking her to repeat my name , and my name is not hard to understand so this women was also just bullying mom at the point were she is asking her , tell me her name again, what is it, spell it over and over ... I am not exaggerating on this one ... she said my name at least 5-6 times and when I went to pick up item I saw all new faces so I guess they swab the crew. Anyways I am not coming back here. This could have been avoided if when I dropped off the watch they could have instructed me to tell my mother to call and authorize me to pick up so that I could have avoid driving over in vain. They could have also allowed me to use FaceTime for her to show id and FACE and authorize me but Isaac kept telling me no every time I told him my mom wanted to speak with him since she was on the phone listening to everything , I even place her on speaker and he still refused and his manager also refused. Never have I not been help at an apple store but their is always a first for everything. I needed to do some Xmas shopping but did not want to venture out in the stores looking for gifts. I found my wife an IPad with a 50 dollar Apple gift card. I then remembered I had a $25 gift card from a few years ago. I was able to apply it with no issues on their website and scheduled a pickup for Tuesday morning. They give you a pickup time window to choose. I did mine for first thing when they open. I get there and they have a couple security guards helping people within the lines. An employee checked my pickup email and directed me to the correct line. I guess they had a repair line and a pickup line as well. One lady kept hounding employees every few minutes about her repair. The employees did the best they could with her, trying to calm her down. They told her multiple times when they are ready they will call her on her phone. I'm guessing this is the type that will leave a negative review. I waited in line for about 5 mins at most. An employee came up scanned my barcode and checked my ID. About 2 minutes later he comes out with my IPad inside a nice Apple Gift bag and I was on my way. The security was nice and no issues, social distancing was on point. We went to the Apple store to have them upload and transfer the information from our old phones to the new ones because we are not "technology savvy". It took awhile for them to do both phones because of minor problems. But after it was all over we were happy and excited to begin using our new phones. The customer service was fantastic. The staff was so very friendly and so willing to go the extra mile to make sure our phones were just the way we wanted them. They walked us through some new features that our old phones didn't have and helped us to set up all kinds of fun benefits of the phone. I came here on a weekend because I was having issue with my New iPhone 7 plus. What the hell was going on? I was freaking out after having lunch with my girlfriends. Bad mood! Good thing I bought the Apple Care protection. But my phone was fully under warranty. The issue was my iPhone just shut off, display black and no power??? and my device makes a charging noise when plugged in. Anyhow, after 1hour &15 mins I came back to check and the wait time was over and worth it, LOL! So, Zack the certified technician dude helped me out and diagnosed my phone issue yada yada...failed to restore? producing an error 9. Software Error? well, to make the story short and to resolved my issue I got another brand-new iPhone 7 plus RED limited edition replacement with zero charges. Bravo! Anyway, I was extremely satisfied with Zack he literally explained to me what was the issue and I really like the Apple iPhone upgrade program. Their Genius bar service /Apple authorized service support was awesome. From setting up your device to recovering your Apple ID to replacing the screen, and major repairs-the Apple Support has you covered. This Apple store was big enough and lots of employees are working here. It's like a big Apple partey lolz! They have a huge selection of Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV and accessories. I schedule an appointment 4 days ago for my iPad mini 5th generation and texted me a reminder for my appointment on the same day. I went 5 minutes early to my appointment and got me in instantly. I was very impressed how fast they got me in and out. I was able to get my iPad warrantied due to screen color issues . I had an issue with my previous airpods pro (making annoying noise while using), so I bought a replacement at this store. In less than two years of using them, I encountered the same issue with the new ones, but its warranty has expired, so there is not much they could do. The experience I had with one of the technicians is what makes me write this review. After testing the products in the back, he brought the test results and showed them to me on his ipad screen WITH HIS MIDDLE FINGER STICKING OUT. At first, I thought his index finger was broken or something, but it looked fine. He kept using his middle finger to scroll and press the screen. Is this some kind of subtle racism? I have had a similar experience at another store, therefore, it can't be coincident. Can it? I mean who the hell uses their middle finger to point at something when you live and work in the States? I will never buy another ear buds from Apple and will never visit this racist store! I really hope I am wrong about the use of the middle finger to their customers. Oh~ I almost forgot. APPLE MANAGEMENT, PLEASE FIX THIS BS. Who the hell thought this "queue system" would be a brilliant idea? Obviously, you ain't no Apple Genius. It's a bottleneck! I hate coming here. It's always crowded with no one getting anything. It takes like three hours for anyone to see you. I went to get my phone looked at once and that was a joke. My ole laptop finally might be on her last days, battery is giving out, she's slow when she starts up and now it's hardware is just not cooperating. I don't know what went wrong? Maybe all those long hours in college. Anyways, I had no help here. It'll cost me an arm and a leg to even get it looked at. Apple products are good but the product is only as good as its customer service. I made an appointment on-line for Saturday, walked in and proceeded to the Genius Bar for my 2:00 appointment. We were never acknowledged by the "Geniuses" nor even an eye contact. We did notice two "Geniuses" letting everyone know that there were going to their lunch break. Looked at my watch which now says 2:12 pm. (mind you we were here for a 2:00 pm. appointment). I finally decided to ask the other associates if there was a check-in procedure. As it turns out someone was supposed to direct us to a person in the middle holding the "green Ipad". I wonder if we slipped through the crack thus we were never acknowledge. Great products but the customer service in this particular location deserves a 1.5 stars. It's my second time coming here... and second time leaving empty handed. The first time I went there, I noticed that the doors were locked. I understand with COVID everyone's hours are different now. But I did not see anything online regarding the change. I feel like they should at least post the updated hours for their customers. The second time I am there. There's a line outside of the store. I purchased my iphone this past week & the service that I received at the Apple Store/AT&T was great. Note: I am a NEW customer so that could be way my transaction was a little easier since I was not upgrading OR changing phones. I went online the ATT site and pre-qualified (which I actually did at the Apple store but you can do it at home too) and it took about less the 5 minutes. You just have to put in your info and it spits you that are approved or not. Once you are it prompts you to pick an Apple store to go to pick up your phone. I picked Otay Ranch and it also gave me an appointment time. Once the peeps at the store got my information which took about 5 minutes they just went and pulled my phone from the back. The longest time I spent in the store was figuring which case to buy for my phone! I paid for my case & phone. They helped me put my phone in case & put the protector on for me. I turned on my phone (he gave me my receipt with my contract & phone number one it) and I was ready to go. I walked out about 35 minutes later with a fully charged iphone ready to go, made my first phone call & uploaded my first photo right when I left the store! Hooray! read more

I brought my MacBook to this location to trade in for a newer one since I've been having issues with the MacBook 12 I purchased from Bestbuy last year. I didn't purchase AppleCare which was a huge mistake. Initially I was pretty upset with Apple because my laptop was fairly new and I was having problems so early on. I had to contact support numerous times over the span of 2 months. I did all the troubleshooting steps required had senior advisors remote into my laptop and I was still having issues. I was finally able to get an appointment at the Fashion Valley location, I advised them of my issues and they notified me I could trade in the device or send it in for a repair at $575 plus $19.95 shipping. I didn't want to go with the latter because that's more than half of what I initially paid for the device. The gentleman advised they would run a diagnostic and reset the MacBook in hopes that would resolve the issue. I left my laptop overnight I was super excited to receive it back but to my surprise the unexpected restart occurred again. Once again I was disappointed, I called Apple support and they were able to get me an appointment within the next few days to speak with a specialist. I had even filed a complaint with the BBB because I felt that Apple should have taken care of this issue without me having to pay additional fees. Apple responded and advised the device was out of the warranty window...lesson learned...purchase the extra warranty!!! Okay sorry for the long rant but it gets better!! Today I came in and met with Andy (Go Aztecs!) to discuss what my options would be. He inquired if I wanted to send in for a repair or trade in since I had mentioned it. I opted for trading in because the MacBook was in great condition still minus the issues I've been having. The entire experience was seamless! Andy was so personable and friendly the entire time! Very empathetic and he assisted me with the trade in process. I was able to trade in my device for a credit towards a newer model...yes I purchased AppleCare and received a discount +free AirPods for being a student (bring your student ID for this great offer). Anyways at the end of all this, I'm pretty happy with the experience I had at Apple Otay Ranch. Also the customer service phone and chat support was great too even though my issue couldn't be resolved through these outlets, they were always friendly. read more

I dislike having to go the Genius Bar. This location has just as much foot traffic as Fashion valley. The wait is loooong. I have waited as long as 4-5 hours. I normally just get an appt then come back. Ridiculous. Apple definitely need to change how they process their requests, troubleshoot and orders. Wait times shouldn't be this long. Overall, the staff is very friendly. I wish they were a little more attentive and prompt. The parking at Otay ranch mall is horrendous. The Apple store is located in the heart of the mall right next to sephora and Aldo. read more
