I'm always down for a good donut! The baker and sales lady were very friendly and welcoming, they are definitely glad to be at work! We loved the mocha donuts especially- similar to orams, the other donuts were very good. I still prefer orams but definitely a great place! The cinnamon roll was HUGE but we think it could use even more cinnamon. Great little store- definitely stop in.

Pre-wedding: Make sure you read their contract carefully. They charge extra to serve cake and require you to tell them this, so we chose to box our cake and send it home as a favor with our guests (and our guests have raved about it!). Definitely do a food tasting because they give you all the food you'd like to try plus the top tier of a wedding cake to take home and enjoy. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Day-of: I have nothing but good things to say. From the moment we arrived (30 minutes early, mind you) they took the bridal party to an out of the way room where we were served appetizers and brought drinks. My husband and I were treated like royalty. The event manager was wonderful and very fun. His staff were professional and did not get in the way at all. Food was delicious and the cake was beautiful and very good. They sent the top tier of the cake home (with my parents). They do all of the decorating and set-up/tear-down for you and include centerpieces in their price. As long as you read your contract and know what you're getting, you should not have any issues. The banquet manager was nothing but accomodating. We have heard nothing but good things since our wedding- people still talk about how good the food was! The only issue is parking, but you can set up a shuttle for your guests through a hotel to eleviate that issue.

The meats are smoked daily with a blend of hickory, cherry, and apple woods. Dining in, carry-out, delivery, and catering are available. So far, my husband and I have eaten three lunches from Big Rigs BBQ--two for dining in and one as a $250 takeout for family. We have tried most of the menu items and really enjoyed all of them. I have not yet tried every BBQ restaurant in the Pittsburgh region, but so far, Big Rig's BBQ is our favorite. For meats, we ate the brisket (5 stars, very tender and flavorful), baby-back ribs (5 stars, fall-off-the-bone and tasty), pulled-pork shoulder (4.5 stars, nicely smoked and goes well with the many sauces), original kielbasa (4.5 stars), cheddar-jalapeno kielbasa (4.5 stars), pineapple kielbasa (5 stars, an explosion of unique, delicious flavors), pork-belly burnt ends (4.5 stars, tender with a very flavorful sauce), turkey (4.5 stars, juicy and flavorful), and smoked turkey-club sandwich (5 stars, my husband loves its cheddar, bacon, lettuce, and dijonaise). For sides, we ate the mac and cheese (4 stars, American, cheddar, and pepper jack), potato salad (4.5 stars, with bacon, scallions, cheddar cheese, bell peppers, and mustard), cornbread (5 stars, with cheddar cheese and BBQ honey butter), BBQ baked beans (5 stars, very flavorful ingredients), and brussels sprouts (5 stars, tasty sauce). This BBQ restaurant also serves some salads. I ate a BBQ salad (5 stars) with my choice of protein, Nashville Chicken Breast. This salad might be the most loaded-up that I have ever eaten. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes as well as generous amounts of chicken, bacon, cornbread croutons that look ~2" in diameter, cheese, onions, and cranberries.

It is not just a menu item here, it is the star of the show. Everything tastes like it was made from scratch that day, because it probably was. I had the house made fettuccine and it was on another level. Perfect texture, rich sauce, and portions that actually leave you satisfied. Even the bread and appetizers felt elevated, not like an afterthought. The atmosphere hits that sweet spot too. Upscale without feeling stuffy. Great for a date night or just treating yourself to a quality meal. Service was sharp, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. If you are looking for authentic Italian that does not cut corners, this is one of those places you keep coming back to.

I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. The space is very cute and you can't really miss it even with it being in an executive building. It's a smaller area but it can seat a good amount of people. We noticed they had a pasta making class so maybe next time we're in town, we can do it. The red sangria had a great balance where it wasn't too sweet. We didn't do dessert but we did enjoy the digestif at the end with limoncello and my spouse ate the amaretti cookies as I couldn't.

They have a large array of sauces to go along with the sandwich. My favorite includes the homemade tartar sauce and hot onion. I've never tasted anything like the hot onion sauce, and it's so good! The fish is big but not greasy, and they use very high quality fish. You can get Mac n'cheese, slaw, or fries on the side. Their lenten menu is filled with other options, but don't miss out on the fish sandwich! I'm planning on taking one of their classes, and I'm looking forward to trying more food on the menu!

More than expected!…read more I searched all over the Pittsburgh area for a caterer that would meet my needs for a Baby-Que! I wanted BBQ and the ability to taste the food before the event. I went one evening to taste test the food. They allowed me to bring someone with me and choose the items I wanted to taste. We tried the stuffed cabbage, pulled pork, chicken marsala, potatoes, and baked beans. We liked everything but the chicken. We mentioned it to the lady and she actually let us try the beef pot roast, which was delicious. This was served with their homemade horseradish. They supplied all the paper products and plastic utensils. They communicated with me before the event and answered all my questions by email. They were very responsive. During the event, they set up, cleaned up, displayed and arranged my cookies, cut and served the cake, and cleaned up the guests dirty dishes. They wrapped up all the leftover food as well. This was well beyond my expectations of any caterer. The 3 women who came to the event were very courteous as well. They were very pleasant to my guests. The only thing I wish they would have done was set up the buffet line the opposite way. I think traffic would have flowed a little better in the room we were in. I would recommend them for any event. Thanks for making my day even more special!
