I'm long overdue to write a review! I have taken 3 free workshops here and have really enjoyed them. The creatives/instructors are really well versed in photography, video, and GarageBand. I had a great time and felt like I enhanced my iPhone experience. I can't believe these workshops are FREE! Last year, I had some issues with my iPhone issues and scheduling a repair. They helped me resolve the problem and voila I was all set! Will definitely be going back to this location. read more

Always wonderful customer service! Very attentive staff. I appreciate that they explain the steps they are going through to work on my phone (it was a fail. 3rd visit. They are all baffled!). But sound and willing to go the extra mile. I usually have a bit of a wait (~30min) but nothing major. A couple days ago, I bought an iPhone 17 Air (replacing an iPhone XR). The keyboard kept switching between the letters keypad and the character/numbers keypad intermittently. I called Apple and they scheduled a call with a technician (Harshil--very nice), and the technician did a "screen share" diagnostic. We tried all of the typical fixes for this particular reported bug, but nothing worked. The tech determined that it was indeed a hardware issue. Hey, things happen. They had another iPhone 17 Air at Bayshore, and he directed me to go there to get it. All I'd have to do is give these folks the case number and they would switch out the phone. The tech also offered me a free item from the Apple Store up to a value of $200 for the inconvenience. This was unexpected, but appreciated. I don't feel entitled to it, but thought it was a nice gesture. I go into the Bayshore store and explain that I have an open case and that I'm there to swap the phone. I don't know why, but they felt a need to run the same diagnostics and to wipe the phone and reload it. Guess what, it's a hardware issue. Now, I am so sick and I explained that to them when I went in. I did my best to isolate myself, but they relegated me to a table with eight other people. If I didn't rely on this phone for work, I would not have gone to the store. Anyway, the technician that helped me, Malachi, was patient, pleasant, and professional. Five stars for Malachi. He probably had to follow their protocol for going through all that steps to justify a swap of the phone. Up to this point, I had no issue. It's what happened next. They sold out of the phone model I had, whilst we were dinking around with all the duplicated testing. I would have assumed that since I made the appointment and they had knowledge of me needing a replacement phone, they would have set one aside for that purpose, but of course not. Again, things happen. BUT ironically, the EXACT SAME THING happened to me at this SAME STORE years ago when I traded my 7 for a 10. It would take five days for my new phone to arrive at their store. Anyway, I asked them if I could just get the next model up--a $200 difference, since they had it in stock. I got an iron-clad no. I've worked retail, so I understand staff have limitations as to what they can offer guests, so I accepted the answer and called Apple to see if they could supersede the policy. I am surprised by Apple's response. They kept driving home the fact that they were willing to offer me a $200 item from their website, but unwilling to bend on just giving me the phone they had in stock that was $200 more (higher storage capacity) in lieu of the $200 concession item. They kept apologizing for the inconvenience, blithely unaware that it was Apple CREATING the inconvenience. In fact, they are compounding the inconvenience. This could have been so simple. I am a forgiving consumer. I cannot rate this store more than a 3, and that is as fair as I can be. I really want to rate them a 1 because I kept getting the canned line, "It's our policy." Which is their way of stonewalling you, because it is an indication that they are not willing to do anything for you. I will come back and re-evaluate Apple when they get back to me tomorrow (as promised) to see if they will accommodate my very reasonable request, since 1. They sold me a defective $999 phone, and 2. Sent me to get a replacement and then sold it. Things happen, yes, but be willing to make them right. Especially at these price points. In closing, I'd like to ask: Is any policy really all that sacred? read more

I dreaded going to the Apple Store. In the past, whether it be in Mayfair, Louisville, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, or Seattle, the waits were inordinate, the service haughty, and the time spent waisted. At Bayshore, Jay and Elena took great care of me and even treated me like a human being with a brain. My problem with my MacBook was fixed, and I bought a new iPad. It was a pleasure although, I must add, parking at Bayshore was frightening. It's a damn shopping center, not a planned community expiring to be Mayberry, USA. I somehow deleted Outlook on my phone when I was trying to do some things on my phone at home so I took my phone into the Apple Store. A man approached me young guy at the front and made fun of me because I deleted outlook and didn't know how to get it back so he was laughing at me and said what I said well that's why I came here. You guys are just standing around (8 of them in red shirts doing nothing, so could you please just help me with this?! So then he took it upon himself to again laugh at me and tell me He would help me do it, and that I had to do it all rather than putting outlook back in there and then teaching me how to do it afterwards. So what he was telling me to do didn't happen, so he took the phone and couldn't do it either. His next comment was to tell me I had to contact Microsoft. I then asked him if he had the phone number to Microsoft, and again he laughed at me and said he didn't know the number and had no way to get it for me, so I am now at the AT&T store, hoping that they can fix this phone for me because the arrogant little twit that waited on me today at the Bayshore mall at about 2 o'clock needs to get a different job!!! read more

UPDATE:. So to add insult to injury, the phone just needed a SIM card reset. Such liars. Just trying to squeeze us for another $400. Apparently the iPhones aren't waterproof or water resistant per the IP68 rating the give them. Or Per Apple. Even if the LCI dosent indicate water damage. You will still be misled into believing you have voided the warranty. 6 meters for 30 min, nope. 54" for 5 seconds would be more accurate per our experience. More lies from a market that dosent see the color of your money being green enough and anticipates your return like a snake in the grass. read more

A guy named Adam owns this store. I guess it's Adam's Apple. I'm not a big fan of Apple Stores and I don't like the way they run things and the way that they book you into come back and see them at a specific time - because what if you're just passing through the area (ahem, me) and you need some help with Apple products which is usually the story of us when we end up here, and that was the story here and that's why we weren't able to get what we needed to get done, done. They're very friendly in the store though, so I can see why they have such good ratings. Way better than the location at Mayfair though. Wayyyy better. read more

I went in to return a computer case that was coming apart and that I thought was covered under warranty and the manager said I should have come in sooner as there was no warranty at this point. the managers disposition was rude, pompous & as I found out, unknowledgeable about the products he sells. After leaving I looked the product up and it was covered under warranty. A new one arrived a few days later. At minimum the manager could have told me the product was still covered under warranty but Apple doesn't cover that. NothIng like rude and under qualified employee to encourage you to ever come back. read more

It was a sad day when my Apple Watch's life officially came to an end last week, as it was attached to my wrist constantly. Understandably, it was a first generation so I got a good 4+ years out of it. I'm normally not a huge fan of any technology stores, mostly because I likely have to spend a lot of money there, or I feel as if sales employees are constantly trying to up-sell me ("No Jim, I don't need to add a flatscreen to my purchase.") However, I had a great experience at Apple! As per usual at the Apple Store, I was greeted by a friendly employee who added me to the cue and offered for me to check out the new watch series while I wait. After a few minutes, I was greeted by Malcolm. Shout out to him because he was honestly so kind and helpful, not at all pushy, and even humorous. I'm one of those people who really enjoys pleasant conversations with strangers, so he was right up my alley. It was between series 3 and 4 for the new watches (either were immense updates from mine), so I just needed to be explained the difference to make my decision. Malcolm broke it all down for me and answered all of my questions in details so I really could understand what I was purchasing. I ultimately went with the series 4 and am already obsessed with it. He also went through the different band options with me, which I didn't realize there were so many! All in all, I left with a shiny new watch, fresh band, and positive experience. Thumbs up! This store is a pretty large store. I took the scenic route here along the lake and prefer that to the freeway. My daughter made an appointment online. We got in to the store and checked in and we're helped right away. My daughter's Mac is only a year and 4 months old but out of apple warranty. Lesson learned. It had a bad chip and battery. She was able to trade it in and get a student discount. She got a new Mac with upgraded space and a free pair of ipods for under $500. Repairs on the old one would have been $500 so why not go new. She will be getting the insurance in this one. It will prevent against breakage and unforseen events like this one. Our genius was awesome. Her name started with a D (sorry not common) and she works in the lab too. She was very knowledgeable and smart. We felt pretty safe with security at the door but felt like someone was watching us. My daughter did have a large bag so we ditched the Apple bag We didn't want to call attention to our vehicle and we carried it with us when we went to eat. We swear they pipe a scent in there. read more

The employees here really are great. After many years, my iPhone 5 had the screen start lifting due to a swollen battery (seems to be common with Apple, several people were in for that). They decided the best fix was to give me a new phone for the price of the battery which I thought was a reasonable solution. Because it's ancient they had to order one for me which came in FAST. My issue with the store (and all Apple stores really) is that there's no system. In theory you check in with a staffer but there's not always one to be found. So you might wander around, much like Moses in the desert, for a while. Why not have a dedicated check in space? Or better yet, a self checkin kiosk? I'm old, you kids get off my lawn. read more

Biased I dropped my iPhone. There are a few options: A) Order parts online for $100 and do it myself. B) Take it to some shady kiosk guy in the mall. C) Have Apple replace the screen for $109 in 90 minutes. If only I was smart enough to have it in a case. Customer service here is exceptional. I took in a MacBook that was over three years old that had a slight defect in one of the components that caused sporadic crashes. After repeated repairs it was causing me worse grief and I ended up walking away with a sweet deal on a replacement Mac. read more

I have been an Apple loyalist for 10 years. Drinking the kool-aid no longer. I sent my Macbook in for repair. They PROMISED (like basically the pinkie promise cross your heart blood brothers for life kind because I was so afraid to send it out that I needed to be convinced to let it go) to have it back to me within 10 days. Mind you, even 10 days is an extremely long time to be without a computer when you need it to do your job. But Apple limits replacement parts making it difficult to go to anyone else but them for repairs, so how much choice did I really have in the matter. But then the 10 days came and went. With no word, no notification that it would be late, nothing. I spent an hour waiting to speak to someone on the phone about my concern, he offered no help. You wouldn't take someone's car and tell them you'd have it back to them in ten days, and then when they called to check after said 10 days tell them you don't know where it is and you can't give them any updates on when it might be ready. At least with a car you have options, like getting an Uber. Not having a laptop to work on is kind of a big deal. Apple offered me no clues as to when it would actually be ready, offered no temporary replacements, no nothing. So I took matters into my own hands. I went into the Bayshore Apple Store to buy a new computer because - girl's gotta work. Mama's got bills to pay. Losing $hundreds in productivity for every day my computer is late. I will be returning that computer in 14 days. The manager I spoke with at the Bayshore store, Amir, was beyond unhelpful about my missing Macbook. He actually said "I can't care about your Macbook with everything that's going on in the world right now." They were very quick to wash their hands of the problem because well, in their view it was not their problem. But don't you all work for the same company? Apple has billions in free cash on its balance sheet ($183 BILLION to be exact) and there are millions of people out of work who would be BEYOND grateful to be hired to man the call center and to help out with repairs right about now. Covid has been going on for months now, plenty of time to innovate and figure out a way to hire more people. The people in the call centers are working from home and I'm sure they could figure out a way to let those repairing laptops to work from home as well. It's Apple. If they can figure out a way to have temperature checks and tents and bouncers and masks at the front door (which they did at the Bayshore location) so people can BUY new things, they can figure out a way to take care of their existing and loyal customers, and hire more people. Innovate. Think different and do better. Beyond disappointed by the Bayshore store's lack of response or help. And especially their complete just not caring. Join me in finding a new computer and phone provider. The spell has been broken! I've been paying premium prices for Apple products for years. For what? Certainly not for the quality because their products break at the drop of a hat and then they charge outrageous prices to repair them. And now I come to find out I'm not paying for superior service either. The secret is out. Apple DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. read more

Went in because my phone crashed and told me I needed to reset it with my computer. After attempting to restore several times, it gave me the error code (9) so I made a Genius Bar appointment and went in the next day. They tried to restore my phone with a cord, 3 times, (when I know there's a mobile restore option). Then they start to inspect it to see if it is manufactures defect. Apparently since one of the pins on my lightning port was bent, it was due to physical damage and not manufacture defect. I am just so confused on how closing an app I use every day can cause so many problems. I really don't know how to prevent this from happening again, swiping up from the bottom to quit an app as a gesture that can't be substituted. I have only had my 11 Pro for 4 months, and I don't stick anything in the lightning port that doesn't belong there. Never even used a 3rd party charger. I really don't even know how the pins being bent meant that a software crash and subsequent "brick"-ing of my phone was my fault. The pins being bent never affected my charging or anything, I had no clue that was the case, so it seems to only affect whether it can be restored with a lightning cable. And if they would have tried to do a mobile restore, things would have been fine. Thank God I got AppleCare, it would have been hundreds of dollars, but I still had to pay $99 and use one of the two of my device replacements. I am extremely dissatisfied and will never buy another iPhone again. I have been in the ecosystem since 2008 and their dwindling customer er service is ultimately why I will be switching to android. I was always willing to pay the hefty price because back in the day, it was a lot less of a hassle to get it fixed or replaced. Ps. They claim error code 9 involves the lightning port. read more

I purchased an iPad 12.9, then the next day an iPad Folio for my iPad 12.9 when you offered a $35.00 gift card when purchased. I charged and did not think about it until my Visa bill came in an showed the iPad purchased on Nov 27, the Folio on the 29th, posted on Nov 29th. then a $35.00 charge was posted Nov. 30. When I received the Bill on Dec 23rd, I called my credit card company to ask what this was for and after a lengthy discussion I was told I had to call Apple and they provided me with the number. I called Apple to ask what this was, I spoke to Zack, who passed me to the Bayshore store where I purchased to folio, and to get rid of me said I had to come it as Apple did not have a system to look things up (really!!!!). Frustrated I called Apple back spoke to Dennis, then Jazz who explained (took a long time) that in order to give a gift card I had to pay for it but the purchase price was reduced to compensate for it. This is unbelievable that a high tech company like apple can not have a system that shows a transaction correctly. The $35.00 charge posted a day after I went to the store looked like a mistake. I wasted over 1.5 hours trying to track this down and it would of been way more if I had gone into the shopping centre. Why do your people not explain the process? Why do you call center's know this can happen? It is unbelievable that Apple has such poor process. read more

Horrible service, completely thoughtless customer. I had my iPhone replaced here under my Apple Care a few months ago. Once I arrived home, I learned I could not do anything because I did not have a SIM card with my new phone. Turns out I had to go all the way to my carrier's store and get a SIM card. Apple completely neglected this huge step. I am appalled they did not think to either 1) give me a new SIM card in the store 2) advise me that I'd have to go to my carrier as a next step for my new phone. This entire scenario occurred for the second time today when I sent my boyfriend to the store to repair his phone under Applecare. They replaced the phone but didn't do anything about the SIM card again! Very disappointed and inconvenienced. read more

Trust me, do not go to this store. The manager, Ben, is extremely rude and unprofessional. He was too busy flirting with another customer to assist me. When I was finally able to get his attention, he glared at me like I was interrupting something. Now mind you, the line was a mile long. Some of the people behind me got tired of waiting and walked away. When I was finally able to speak to him he didn't even bother looking at the serial number for my Airpods. First: If you have to wheel a large screen iMac up to the Genius Bar, you want to go here, not Mayfair Mall; unless you relish doing things the hard way. Although, getting thru the store patrons is another story... My appointment was scheduled through Apple customer service (also first rate), which treated me extremely well for having a 6 year out of warranty machine. The Genius at the bar figured out through some basic trouble shooting the the issue was failing hardware- which is no longer available for that iMac through their supply chain. He said they could take it apart, but it would be waste of my money. And I agreed, it is 9 years old, after all. But I was well cared for though the process and thought it was worth giving them a great review. read more

Finally got an appointment for today after a 4-day wait. I was greeted immediately, directed to take a seat, and my appointment started on time. I had three issues: battery needs charging 3+ times a day, blew through monthly data in under 10 days, and every iOS update requires lots of workarounds to sync with calendar and email on other devices. The courteous "Genius" had no idea why I am blowing through data and politely suggested that if Apple is not friendly with other devices, the solution would be to have all Apple products. The battery issue could not be diagnosed as hardware -- not that it isn't hardware, but their analytics kept failing. In short, if you have an iPhone it either works well or it doesn't. When it doesn't: tough. This apple, however, it going to roll further from the tree. I will replace my iPhone with an android. read more

Had a issue with my watch and floor person was very dismissive and told me I need to just buy a new watch. I'm Apple Watch was only 1&1/2 years old. I have regular watch that still work from when I was in high school and that was over 20 years ago. Why would I spend several hundred dollars for something that only last a year and the company then will not stand behind its product. I was so pissed I had to leave. When i was helped the girl said it would take 90 minutes minimum for them to take off the screen and look at the speaker sensor .And i also asked for her to help me with my Apple id she said they don't do that at the store to call Apple care for that....Mind you they had about 25 employees walking around. I had a bad iPhone cord (4 months old and I had the receipt) that I wanted to exchange. The "greeter" could not exchange it and set me up with an appointment with the genius bar. He told me it would be 10-15 minutes. 35 minutes later a "genius" showed up, looked at the cord, then told me it could not be exchanged because of physical damage. I told him that the service "sucks" because I waited 35 minutes to be told something the greeter could have told me in 30 seconds. He said that a "Genius" needs to see it to make the final call. What, the greeters can't be trained to see physical damage and relay the company policy on replacement. He told me that the service was quite good and if I thought otherwise I should leave a review. He asked if I wanted to buy another cord. I told him that I would not spend premium dollars on an inferior product. I have had cords replaced by Apple in the past for the exact same problem, I do not know when the policy changed. Probably when they realized that it was costing them a lot of money to keep replacing their poorly made product. I personally have an Android phone and have had one for over 15 years. I have never had a cord issue. This was my daughter's cord. If I could get my daughters and wife to switch to Android I would be very happy. read more

I am an Apple addict. Admittedly so. I went in for a Genius Bar appointment to get my MacBook Pro looked at. I had a 5:45 appointment and got there around 5:30, so I sat at the genius Bar for those 15 minutes. An Apple employee, Blaine, was assigned to help the man next to me who had brought in a FILTHY MacBook. It was covered in grease and grime and I wouldn't have touched the keyboard with gloves on. He was extremely rude - talking on the phone, staring off into space, speaking over Blaine and being snappy in general. The entire time Blaine was very patient, kind and professional, I was very impressed. Next he came to work with me. I commended him on his quality service for such a crabapple man. He brought my computer into the back and gave me the bad, expensive news. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. After giving my computer the death sentence, he was kind enough to go back and open it up again to look at my hard drive. After that he even showed me a couple options for latptop replacement that I found very helpful. I will be going back to this location when I somehow magically find the funds to update. read more

It's an Apple store. It's kitschy and bright and flashy. And I only come to these in the most dire of circumstances. Sorta the way city-folk love farm-to-table, but never want to go to the farm themselves. Product fanboys and fangirls aside, I've come to this store a couple of times and am amazed at the difference in processing speed when compared to the Mayfair location, and most other technology based stores in general. I like to do my mall shopping in a targeted, precise manner. I'm always willing to sacrifice friendly banter for military efficiency when it comes to chain-store commerce. This store is 3 for 3 on my visits, getting me checked in, speeding my process and getting me back to my car and gone from Bayshore. I haven't had to feed a meter more than two quarters in any trip, and I've never felt like the associate helping me thought that I didn't know what I was doing. My appreciation for a non-condescending attitude in these stores knows no bounds. I'm sure they deal with enough iPod glitches, Angry Bird updates and people who don't know the difference between Fruit Ninja and Turbo-tax apps, but they don't come across as being ready to take out frustrations on the next one in line. That goes a long way with me. I'd suggest making this your stop over the Mayfair location, and, depending on your needs, can occasionally be better to deal with the AT&T when it comes to phone issues. read more

Today, I made a same day appointment hoping the best for my computer after Best Buy told me I would need a new one. The man who helped me at the Genius Bar was super helpful. Very nice and understood that I needed it for school so he told me he would try to get it done before 48 hours. Had my appointment at 10:20am and I recieved a call at 11:18 am that my computer was ready for pickup. They were so fast and amazing. My computer works perfectly again. Super happy read more

So, this Apple Store could use some empathy training, at least for whoever is working the door on a Wednesday evening. When I came in, a customer was in tears because she needed to have booked an appointment ahead of time and didn't know that. I avoided that issue and walked up to the bar. I came in because my charger for my MacBook Air stopped working. I walked back to the Genius Bar and stood there for five minutes while employees brushed past me, doing their best to avoid eye contact. After the crying woman left, I walked back to the front of the store. I was told that all walk ins were booked up. I asked if someone could just test my computer and confirm that the charger was broken before I dropped the 80 on a new one. I was told that all appointments were booked. The broken record treatment is extremely rude-I'm not stupid. I didn't ask for a full appointment, only for help. I walked back to look at the display of chargers and then a different employee asked if he could help me. He was super friendly, pointed out the right charger, showed me how to find that info on my own in the future, AND plugged my computer into a store charger, confirming that that was the issue. Which was all I wanted. 1 star for rude kid on the door making customers cry and acting like we are slow kindergarteners. 4 stars for actually helpful tall bearded employee. Average rating: 3 stars. I'm going to start the 12 step process now... My name is Jon... and I am a Mac addict. Since I do love Macs so much... of course I love the Apple Store, but particularly love the one at Bayshore. If you have the option between Mayfair and Bayshore... go bayshore. Come on... Ken Griffey Jr. bought his iPhone there! True story... when I bought my 3G iPhone on the Saturday after the release, I was in line right behind Ken Griffey Jr. He was in town for a baseball game and swung by to buy one! The best part of the Apple Store is the people. The manager is always around and very, very friendly and looking to solve any problems you may be having. She's always pleasant and very accessible. I enjoy going to this location even though it usually means I am going to spend too much money. The layout of this Apple Store is very appealing to the customer. Most sales are done in the front part of the store with personal training and the genius bar in the mid to back of the store. I usually have great service here but have been ignored a couple times while trying to buy something. They usually have about 6 people just standing around with only a couple of them authorized to complete my purchase. The staff is well educated in the products. I recently purchased a new mac and my service person went above and beyond and found me the best deal with rebates on my computer. I saved about $600 with his help! read more

Ahh what a relief I decided to come to bayshore. I live within walking distance of mayfair, but this is worth the drive. I bought an iPhone 5 way back in January. After a few weeks, I noticed the screen quality was terrible. There were horrible interlacing lines all over the screen. I took it back to the mayfair apple store and they swapped it with a phone that had the exact same problem. When I told them the phone had the exact same problem, they promptly said "we aren't going to replace the phone again." I left the store very angry and made an appointment with bayshore. When I arrived at bayshore, the technician saw the issue right away and replaced it with a phone, no questions asked. The phone I received had an awesome display. Recently I went back to the mayfair store because my camera had an issue. When the technicians saw this issue, they swapped the phone with a new one. I thought by now apple would have resolved this "interlacing lines" issue, but I was wrong. The phone had the same issue I spent so much time fixing 6 months ago. I raced back to the store and asked for my old phone back. They told me they couldn't give me my phone back, but they could replace it again. So I let them do that. The phone they gave me had the same problem. When I told them that, they once again said "we can't help you. It isn't preventing you from using the phone normally and is a cosmetic issue." I called Apple and notified them of the issue. The guy on the phone was incredibly rude and did not seem to care. I finally demanded he send something up to the engineers at apple regarding this widespread, but often overlooked problem. After hanging up with him, I made my appointment to get my phone fixed or swapped again. When I arrived, I was helped right away. The guy was fast, friendly, and reminded me of the good old days of Apple. The technician was not judgmental, and I felt very relaxed around him. He told me he was going to replace the display and they should have the phone back to me within the hour. I actually went to the Verizon store to look at the Samsung Galaxy S4. I hated it. Plasticky, cheap, and just horrible UI. After leaving the store, I realized I NEEDED this issue to be resolved. I love iPhone and I wouldn't want to break my relationship with apple (although with 700 million iPhone users, I'm sure they could care less about me!) So instead of giving me one of those crappy replacement phones, he actually took the time and replaced the display. That is good service. When I came back an hour later, the display was perfect. I am not 100 percent sure what his name was, but kudos to anyone who works at that store. You fine men and women represent Apple impeccably. read more
