We are giving this well-maintained, apple orchard, a solid five…read more You know none of the Apple orchard and Julian had a very good season. They pretty much had 50% less apples than they did last year so they were trying very hard to get all these apples into our bags and home safely for our own apple cobbler and apple pie. We were able to fill up three bag bags of apples, small apples, but still very flavorful , Pippin and Jonathan's and some empires .. They do allow service dogs . Super fun activity however we were there on October 4 th Honestly, I think the season would probably be about done by now .. there's plenty to do and Julian. They have dirt parking. And crazy enough they have great music playing throughout the Orchard. We did a little Apple picking a little dancing

They estimate that the bag holds 6-7 lbs of apples. When we went they said there were 5 apple varieties but three of them were pretty picked through. This was the 4th day they were open for the season. It is a pretty small apple orchard. That being said, we were able to get a full bag although a lot of apples were small or ones that looked nice only turned out to have wormholes in them. Lots of tossed apples on the ground too. Parking is all in one area now which is better than previous years where there were multiple. Some food and drinks vendors right outside the entrance. They don't sell apple cider or apple cider donuts here sadly.

I was so sad…read moreto learn that the blackberries bushes were all picked for the year, with the possibility of a couple vines but not yet ready. Flowers were in bloom and they did offer raspberries, but also said that was slim as well. Sure enjoy, with 3 people and 6 eyes, we were able to fill up. You pre-pay and then they give you your container. Walk around and you can come here to pick different fruits during different seasons. Guess what, they have a petting zoo inside as well! How cool! If there is food available and they haven't been fed too much, you can grab a scoop and feed away! Staff was friendly and very helpful in navigating, especially when you forget where you are supposed to walk to in order to pick your fruit. I would say it is about farmer's market pricing, definitely not on the cheaper scale but you are paying for quality here. Can't wait to come back! We came here in August 2025, and then my Husband brought his mother and siblings here in October 2025. They loved it as well. Plenty of parking, although dirt parking, easy to get in and out. Highly recommend if coming to Julian. This is a landmark/staple of Julian to visit.

Pricing is great and affordable we did the Barnyard experience ! I didn't know they did online reservations which is something we will do in the future as the line to purchase tickets was a little long . The animals are very cute , but some of them are a little more aggressive for food so watch out ! Overall we loved the experience we had! So many places to walk and take pictures! I knew it was busy due to the parking but it didn't feel as overcrowded since the space is so large ! Highly recommend everyone to bring their families !

My resourceful sister found this place for both our families to gather and pick apples in Julian…read more It's a cute family owned/operated orchard that's not as big or as commercialized as others you'll find out here--perfect for an intimate family outing of apple picking! Because it's a smaller orchard, parking is limited to perhaps a dozen cars on the property. During our visit on a drizzly late Saturday morning, they had a guy helping cars onto the property. He was friendly and asked if there were others in my party and I replied we had 1 more car coming. He conveniently had us park together in a dirt path clearly intended for vehicles so we could easily leave together. There is no charge for parking. Before you start, the owner gives a quick orientation of the orchard, telling you what types of fruits are available and how to pick them. Then you sign a waiver and pay for bags to fill. Brown bags are for picking newly dropped fruit. White bags are for fruit picked right off the trees. The only available restroom is inside the farmhouse. They have several types of apples available here, in addition to a few pears and a huge plum tree tucked away in the back. Visitors are encouraged to use the bucket of feed to the delight of the chickens in their coop. The kids enjoyed roaming the orchard with Lola (grandma) and it felt like we were visiting an uncle's farm. It was a fun experience even with some rain falling. Again, please keep in mind this is a small family orchard so the trees will get picked clean early in the season so you need visit early. There wasn't much left by the time we visited, but we were here for the experience more than the volume of apples. With little effort, we filled 6 bags! I definitely want to visit again next season with my family and I greatly appreciate the owners literally sharing the fruits of their labor.
