First, shout out to Gil. He helped us rebook our tour since my mom was sick the original date we chose. He was so helpful! My family had Such a fantastic day enjoying the Oasis Camel Dairy farm. From the back story of how the couple met, to feeding animals to education everything was entertaining and fun. We didn't have little kids with us, but still enjoyed this so much. Our 2hr noon hour tour had about 70ppl on it. We never felt like it was too many in any one place. The owners were so good about answering questions and were very funny! I'd highly recommend this to families who have kids and want to see and visit camels up close. Plan to take a picnic lunch, and plenty of water. I was given camel soap as a gift. Loved it. Wanted more and found out that I could actually go and buy it in person. How intriguing. Wouldn't you know I would choose one of the hottest days of the year to make the trek to Ramona. It was well worth the trip. Nancy and Gil Riegler are two of the coolest people you would ever want to meet. You just want to hang out with them for the entire day. We got to witness the Turkey Olympics, meet the largest camel and vote on the person whose gobble sounded most authentic. We then went to feed Nancy's koi. From there we went to feed the most beautiful sheep I have ever seen. The Piece De Resistance was to feed and pet the camels. Gil is like a living encyclopedia of camel knowledge and answered the many hundred questions. Camels do not spit so we were comfortable seeing them up close and personal. There are misting tents all over the farm so we were able to keep comfortable the entire 12;00-2:00 visiting period. It was fully staffed that day and all went out of their way to accommodate us. Really fun, congenial and knowledgeable ladies. Got to satisfy my wish to buy camel soap. Unfortunately for my bank account I did more than buy soap. Every item is a draw and you just want to try everything. You can buy online, but I would recommend that you come out to meet Nancy and Gil. You, too, will want to spend the day with them. read more

I first visited the lavender camel farm on Father's Day of this year a few months ago with my five year-old autistic twins. We did the $20 lavender you pick experience, the people working in the shop wrapped up our lavender so nicely and even made extra little bundles for each of my twins to keep with the extra that we had picked. My twins also picked out some delicious lavender chocolate. (That stuff is divine!) I bought the lavender honey. As a huge lavender fan, I love how strong the lavender taste is in this honey. We also bought some lavender lip balm, one of my twins picked out a stuffed animal camel and the other picked out a 3-D printed dragon. We had the absolute best time. We stayed for the camel talk, it was very informative. And then we came back a couple weeks later to bring grandma who was visiting from Oregon. She loved the place as well! The 3-D printed dragon that one of my twins picked out had broken, I messaged the owner explaining that he is autistic and was obsessed with the dragon in his favorite colors and asked if they ever print more. They were so kind and offered to replace it. They even bought the exact same colors and 3-D printed him an even bigger dragon than the original one we bought. I'm just blown away by the kindness, hospitality and generosity of the owners and staff at this place. We are huge fans and will definitely be back again. We've now visited three times. read more

The public tour that we attended on a weekend was so great! It was fun to hear the turkeys gobble in the background while Gil was giving details about the camel that was part of the tour. In addition to this, we were surprised to see koi, goldfish, parrots and be able to feed the camels as well as the sheep in the grounds. After the 2 hour tour ended, we drove to the lavender field and took photos - also saw camels running down the pasture to where the lavender field was while a staff member gave a brief 15 minute overview about the camels. It looked like a scene from a fairy tale. The vista of the mountains and greenery is so beautiful, and the environment peaceful. It was such a beautiful time, and we definitely enjoyed the friendliness of Gil, Nancy and all the staff we interacted with. read more

We did a private tour and our tour guide was great! The whole experience was delightful for everyone in our group from my 9yr old all the way to my 70+ old dad. The animals are very friendly and approach you without hesitation. It's a great experience to see some giant fine looking camels and feed them! They are only open on the weekends Saturday to Sunday's from 12-2pm for a $15 admission fee which you can enjoy a 20 mins live show to start off. It also includes treats for you to feed the camels and mini sheep's and not just that, you can also ride the camels. They have a lavender blooming season every year of month June/July weekends ONLY so that's also another fun to experience at the farm! They also offer a private tour if you prefer that. Finishing the tour, is a visit to the farm gift shop where you can find different kinds of hand made soaps and it smells amazing! They need to open the farm for longer hours since we drive 95 miles from Orange County and have staff to help kids ride on camels. Frankly I think it is a little over priced for two hours of just feeding animals otherwise it is a fun place to go to. read more

This is such a wonderful experience! It's a very unique farm to visit. there are parrots, cockatiels, and parakeets, turkeys and sheep in addition to the stars of the show, the Camels. The public events start with a show where you learn about Camels and the stuff the owners did before opening the dairy, which includes a traveling bird show. After the show, it's time to go give the sheep and camels some treats! The camels are super sweet, and love to be fed and petted. For anyone worried about the treatment of their animals, there's nothing to worry about. These animals are well, well cared for (I grew up on a farm so I would know). What we found was a fun bird show, turkey race, visits with sweet mini sheep, and so many camels to love on and feed treats to We were surprised that their treats for the sheep, fish and camels was also all included with our ticket, which is a really refreshing change of pace than we're used to since moving to San Diego. Yesterday my children's charter school had a field trip at the Oasis Camel Dairy. I didn't quite know what to expect, we live on a cattle ranch and have had a lot of different animals so I imagined my kids would enjoy seeing the camels. I hadn't known anyone who had attended in the past so my information was limited. Well, it was over and beyond what I could have expected. We were met at the front entrance by our tour guide, Trisha. Amazing is really the one word that could sum up Trisha as a guide. She was friendly, informative, and fun. Every animal we encountered while at the dairy was interactive and had the kids and myself included totally entranced. Not only did the kids get to stand just feet away from birds, babydoll sheep, and camels but they got to pet and feed them! We ended the amazing (there's that word again) tour with camel rides and photo opportunities. We are now hooked and will be following the dairy's opening days to spend time with Trisha, Camelot, Tigerlilly, and all the other wonderful personalities! A sneak peak into the personalities of the owners of the ranch, they have one shirt in their gift shop with the 1 star rating they received on yelp.lol. It really is a place that promotes leaving the negativity at the highway and stepping into community, camels, and fun! read more

I had been wanting to go to Oasis Camel Dairy for years, but they are open to the public only a few days per month. A friend mentioned it to me, and we bought tickets a month in advance. Tickets are only $15 per adult, so not expensive at all. On the day of our tour, it was pretty rainy. Having finally decided to go, and hearing the news about a brand new baby camel, we decided to head out despite the weather. The tour starts at noon, but they asked us to arrive 15 minutes early. We arrived a bit earlier, as we wanted to make sure not to get lost, but the location was barely off the main highway and easy to find. When we arrived, we browsed the small gift shop, looking at locally made camel milk lotion and lip balm and some small camel-related gifts. When we walked in, we were all seated in a small arena, and we were at first amused by the birds. They were very intelligent, well-trained, and entertaining birds. Then we learned a bit about the camels and their farm. Then, we were given a small tour of the sheep and the goldfish. We had the opportunity to feed the sheep which was really fun. There were some adorable baby sheep. After that, we had the opportunity to feed the camels. We fed them a couple of apple slices on sticks. It was pretty fun and amusing. There was an opportunity to ride camels for a small extra fee, but it was just down a pathway with someone leading the camel, so it seemed more just for kids, so we passed. We left with a bit of camel milk chocolate, lip balm, and lotion which was all very lovely. All in all the tour was fun. It was something you never expect to see near San Diego. I think it is a great experience. If you have the opportunity, it doesn't cost much.... go feed a camel! read more
