My family and I came here. I think it was April 2022 for Easter and did goat yoga saw the llamas. We even saw the little piggy. We had an amazing time. Miss Elizabeth is the lovely host at Sugar Sweet Farm. This is her and her family's property and she was so welcoming and thoughtful throughout the whole experience--before, during, and after. This one was my first goat yoga and I had no basis of expectations (besides cute goats and yoga). I booked ahead a few weeks since there appears to be limited availability in a month's time. Furthermore, they open their calendar a few weeks in advance, so check their online scheduling for spots! Now, more details on the before/during/after of the yoga goat experience... Miss Elizabeth was cordial when answering questions I had: Do we need to bring our own yoga mats? She responded: Not needed! They have their own yoga mats they can provide! I booked for myself and my intended. Our friend also wanted to go with us and would bring their partner. At that time, my friend told me they only had 1 spot available, so not enough for both her and her s/o. My friend emailed Miss Elizabeth and she said she could open up one more spot, so both of our friends were able to go! Yay! ON THE DAY OF, we arrived a few minutes beforehand as instructed. The exact address is also not publicly available and is included in the link they provide for your appointment/reservation. There are signs pointing to Sugar Sweet Farm, so definitely pay attention during your drive. Once you are there, there are staff members to help guide you where to park, and there will be a table to check in at and to sign waivers. Beyond the check-in table, you will enter their property. "Beautiful" doesn't cover how gorgeous it is. The actual goat yoga class was held in their tennis court, right next to where some of their pets/animals--chickens, llamas, and, of course, goats--are housed and doing animal things :). Miss Elizabeth introduced herself, gave us a warm welcome, and provided instructions prior to the start of the yoga glass. Her wonderful daughter was also there to help that day, along with the rest of the lovely staff. The yoga instructor shortly came and then... THE LLAMAS AND GOATS WERE RELEASED! It was quite a cute sight to see! The actual yoga class was maybe about an hour long. During this time, the goats may end up on your backs (lol), or they might accidentally step on you as they eat! There will be hay for the animals to snack on so that they can be distracted while being enjoyed (and petted!) during the yoga session. The staff will teach you how to properly and safely handle the baby goats! They were available to be carried and loved during the yoga session. The staff will instruct you to pass on the baby goats to the next person, so everyone gets a chance to experience them and their cuteness :). Since it has been over a month, I don't remember all the baby goats' names, but there is one named Tiramisu!!!!! HOW ADORBS! BY THE WAY... Llamas are HUGE. Way bigger than you would expect. We tried to steer clear of the llamas because I don't think anyone would have a great time being stepped on by these cute, yet massive, animals. The animals will likely poo (and pee), so try to watch out for that! I noticed that some people didn't do much yoga, which is totally fine! My intended and I tried to do as much yoga as we could, while still experiencing the joy and adorableness of the animals. With that said, IF YOU WANT TO DO JUST YOGA, this will not be for you--you will inevitably be distracted by the cute animals! It was somewhat warm that day, so we were glad to do the morning class. During the actual yoga, expect to sweat even more since you are moving and will be under the sun. There will be shade, however, I still suggest bringing a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. After the yoga, the llamas and goats were put away, and back into their pen! Miss Elizabeth and her staff gave us a treat after the class, which included free refreshments (like delicious lemonade!), seeing the other products and merch the farm has to offer (straight from their farm!), and a loving show-and-tell of the other pets they have on the farm. I don't want to get too much into that as those surprise pets may change/not be the same, but they had BABY KITTENS when we went! Again, SOOOOO cute! My intended and I were the last people from that session as we stayed and chatted with Miss Elizabeth. Again, Miss Elizabeth is beyond welcoming, and generous.. just an overall nice and wonderful lady. They take photos during the yoga session with a nice camera, so you will get access to those photos the same day (or maybe the day after). We would hands down come back here for another yoga class. This place is a great way to experience goat yoga. There were all types of goats roaming around the area as we were doing beginner yoga poses that we couldn't help but smile the whole time. We were able to carry a baby goat and someone took pictures during the session. I think you would definitely get your money's worth, especially since they offer feeding/photo goat opportunities and a tour of their small farm after the yoga class. You also get to meet other animals such as a turkey. I also love their little shop, which includes products that uses goat's milk. The owners mentioned how it is beneficial for your skin since the milk absorbs into your skin rather than just sitting on top of your skin like other lotions do. Yesterday my husband and I spent a lovely afternoon at Sugar Sweet Farm, where we relaxed with a sound healing session, as goats and llamas wandered around us. Afterwards, we took pictures and visited with the many animals that live on Sugar Sweet Farm. The owner/hostess and her family were incredibly gracious and welcoming to the guests and they created a beautiful atmosphere of calm, relaxation and time with the animals. This is a magical place- I cannot recommend Elizabeth and the farm enough. My 7 year old attended several camp days this summer and the experience was incredible- even for me! How about being greeted personally each morning at drop off with a quote of the day and hot fresh baked muffins? The farm has so many activities and my daughter enjoyed every minute. As a mom, I loved Elizabeth's open communication and her warm, loving nature. Wow. Fun and Zen from the moment I arrived. Elizabeth greeted me as I was parking and was very understanding for me being late due to horrible traffic on a Friday afternoon. She had a big smile and quickly calmed me down when she said to let all that stress go away. I was lucky enough to get to go here as a part of my company wellness activity for the month. I was supposed to go for the Yelp Elite event back in May but it got cancelled and I was out of town when it got rescheduled. Elizabeth and her team have it all down to a science. They explained everything, took pictures, encouraged the animals to come near us and even put some of them on our backs. The goats interacting with you is part of the allure, and it is fun. They are therapy animals and have a calming influence. We got to hold some 3 day old baby goats as well. That was very relaxing too. In addition to the goats they had 2 llamas come in and join the mix. Those guys are pretty big but I never felt unsafe or anything like that. They like a good scratch on the backside. The hour long class just flew by and afterwards we were invited to stay for goat happy hour to take some selfies with the animals and tour the beautiful property. I went for goat yoga and it surpassed any expectations I had. They thought of everything and went above and beyond. For example: they have a photographer so you don't need to ruin your practice with your phone and you are able to spend about 30 minutes with the animals after the session to take photos and give them undivided attention. It's all the little details and surprises they add that make the experience memorable beyond just the goats; which I was happy enough to see alone. :) The animals are so well taken care of, and you can tell by how gentle and affectionate they are. Hot Goat Yoga! The 3 of us took the yoga class on a hot labor day weekend. Being animal lovers, we had anticipated  not a lot of yoga to be done for the hour and it was totally fine. lol No prior yoga experience required - we really only yoga stretches for maybe 15 minutes then just played with all the goats and llamas! They were sooooo many and all so adorable! The animals are gonna do whatever they want, so I brought a towel instead of a yoga mat knowing pee/poo are gonna end up on it. I did dodge all of it, but not so lucky for my yoga neighbors. Thank goodness they provided ice water and delicious lemonade because it was a hot weekend.  They also sell T-shirts, tanks, eggs, candied nuts, jam and honey. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.  We bought quite a few things! After the yoga class you do get about another 30 mins to pet and feed all the animals. They also show you their pet pig and all the farm animals in the backyard. They have turkey, donkeys, ducks, and even some mini Highlander cows!  We were able to trek out to Encinitas as a day trip from SGV with no problem. I highly recommend this experience to have a nice day out with friends and family! read more

This review should have been posted last year in May of 2021, but got "stuck" in yelp purgatory... IF I could give 10 stars I would. We recently moved to the area and don't really know anyone. My son was turning 9 and since we could not have a traditional birthday parade (COVID - Pandemic Style), as his friends lived far away. On top of this he had JUST broken his arm riding his bicycle so things were looking grim in the birthday department. We love animals and I did a little research and came across Sugar Sweet Farms. Everything about it seemed perfect - we love animals, it aligns with our family philosophy, AND it had goats (which I LOVE). I also noticed that they were fully booked until October - but I reached out to Sugar Sweet Farms to see if we could get a Private Family Tour anyway. Elizabeth contacted her two volunteer guides, Crosby and Maya, to see if they could fit us in to their schedule (they are typically off on the day we requested). They very kindly agreed due to Ethan's situation and so off we went!! IT GETS BETTER. The entire process was seamless. From invoicing for the tour, to directions, to receiving texts on the day of our tour warning us of traffic and providing alternate route information, we always knew what to expect. We were greeted by Crosby and Maya, two beautiful humans who explained what to expect. Elizabeth stopped in to say hello too. We felt so welcome. First stop was the bunnies and guinea pigs, followed by chickens, goats, llamas, pig, horses, tom the turkey, geese, the barn cat (super sweet), the most delicious water with slices of lemon from their orchard, and birthday cupcakes under the arbor to top it all off. Elizabeth had reached out to ask if they could put out a tablecloth and vase with flowers from their farm for Ethan to enjoy cupcakes (which we bought with us). I truly felt this was such a special touch. Bottom line: Sugar Sweet Farm is a local spot worthy of your time, your money, and your patronage. I've been to goat yoga twice here and I just can't say enough good things about Elizabeth and her crew who live on this amazing working farm in Olivenhain and share the love with all who visit. Classes cost $40 and worth every penny. My friend and I are both pretty thrifty and we considered it a great value ... couldn't believe how much fun it was. I don't remember the yoga instructor's name but as many say "it's more about the goats". I'm really more of a yin/restorative/gentle gal so I adjust my routine somewhat. So, the deal is that the goats come out and feed and frolic while you're doing yoga. Food will be scattered about so the goats come out to interact with you. The first time I had a mama goat and come stand between my legs for like 2 minutes and I couldn't stop laughing. They will also bring baby goats out for you to hold and then pass on to someone else. On my second visit, one of the baby goats fell asleep in my arms for almost 10 minutes. Pure bliss! Oh and yes goats will pee and poop all over. Sometimes on your mat so bring a cheap one or use one of the mats provided there. A small price to pay and it actually adds to the entertainment value. If you love animals, you NEED to do goat yoga. Even if you don't really do yoga. :) P.S. Props to Kalli for getting great photos so we can focus on enjoying ourselves and not having to think about taking our own pix. Sugar sweet farm is a magical place from the moment you enter. Located at the owners home, the expansive property boasts charm and unique touches throughout. But let's be real, the real reason to go...the GOATS! Goat yoga (whoever heard of such a thing) is an experience like no other that will surely make you leave with a smile upon your face. The staff is amazing from every facet. They went above and beyond from guiding you on where to park, checking you in and making sure you are in a shaded spot for the yoga session. They provide you with a basket for your personal belongings (your things will get pooped and peed on!) and each basket is named after a goat so that there's no confusion as to which one contains your things. Another thing which I really enjoyed, was the brief introduction on what to expect during the session, the story of how the farm came to be, and some guidelines for making sure you have the best experience. There is nothing worse than having to listen to a boring and lengthy schpeal, so I really appreciated their quick but informative approach! Now let's get down to the goats! They are beyond adorable and there are plenty of them so don't fret that you won't have an opportunity to pat or feed one. If you are a serious yogi, this may not be the setting for you. I personally was more interested in the goats versus the yoga class, but that being said it was a pretty good class and I'm not a huge yoga person. During the class, staff members put goats on your back while you are in table top pose. They passed around baby goats to snuggle. Some goats came right up and sniffed you. Just amazing! During the class, there is a professional photographer taking shots and they are shared with you for free! You are also welcome to take your own photos as well. The staff is also on top of pee and poop clean up, as the goats go often and wherever they want! At the end of class you get a lavender infused hot towel which is a great touch! I'm not sure if this is standard for every class, but they also brought in some llamas which was really cool. The class runs roughly an hour but factor in some time to stick around after for some more photo opps. They have some fun props to use as well. It was whimsical and I laughed so much, the animals did their thing while we actually did yoga. The goats and llamas were lovable and the staff was extremely attentive to make the experience perfect. I recommend it! Honestly, probably the best date ever. Goat Yoga was held at Sugar Sweet Farm up in Encinitas. The farm is a family run business and just the cutest. First off, the way they greeted us had us feeling so welcomed. Definitely a great first impression. Yoga was fun and not to hard. They understood that a lot of us were there for the baby goats and not just yoga. The yoga instructor was great. We all had so much fun petting/feeding all the baby goats. Thought we were done after yoga and then we were offered hot chocolate and a chance to shop at their little store that had everything homemade. I bought the candied pecans. They were delicious. After that we were able to walk the farm and see all the animals. I would say to Get out of your comfort zone and try it...loving yoga isn't a must, but loving animals is definitely a must! read more

I can't speak highly enough of what an incredible experience we had at goat yoga at Sugar Sweet Farms! I was having a really rough weekend and almost bailed on even coming, but I'm so glad I did because hanging with my (human) friends and new animal buddies brought me so much joy. How much actual yoga you want to do is totally up to you. I would say my friends and I did about 10% yoga, 90% goat petting and selfie taking, but there were people in the class who were digging the yoga. Pro tip - if you're like us and going primarily for the animals, try to get a place in the back row! You'll have more room to play with the adorable goats and won't be in the way of people actually trying to work out. The staff really goes above and beyond at Sugar Sweet Farms. I like how they come around at times spreading treats and hay, encouraging the goats to interact with you. I know some of my friends were concerned about the poop/pee factor (you are dealing with animals after all), but someone would come immediately with a broom or towels at the first sign of "gross stuff" and offer to switch out your yoga mat. If this is what's holding you back from attending a goat yoga session, don't even worry about it! The farm itself is really cute and after your session you can walk around and see the geese, turkeys, horses and other animals. You will have a great time at goat yoga and you never know, a special guest or two might drop by! read more

Our kids had the BEST day at Sugar Sweet Farm Camp! From the minute you pull into the driveway you can literally feel the farm magic. The employees were all so welcoming and sweet and the check in process was as smooth as possible. The kids were immediately greeted by the adorable animals and they were so happy to join in on the organized fun. Thank you for a perfect day on the farm and for capturing so many wonderful memories. This place is like my dream life. What I would do to live on this property with all these gorgeous animals and location. We came here with about 25 girls to do Goat Yoga for a friends birthday. I paid to be a part of it as the group, but kind of sat on the side during the Yoga as I have an injury. It was quite the experience. To see my friends have goats, turkeys and llamas all around them while focusing on Yoga was a blast. I held one of the baby goats in my arms and he fell asleep on me. AWW the joy.. What a SWEET experience this was! Sugar Sweet Farm is a beautiful family farm in Olivenhain. They are passionate and take a lot of pride in the work they do, and really care for their animals. Before the yoga class, we were able to walk by some of the animals. They have ponies, llamas, donkeys, chickens, etc. Goat yoga was such a fun experience! I went with family and family friends and we all had such a great time laughing and letting loose. This is totally a bucket list item. It was set up on the tennis court, so there was plenty of space. They released lots of goats and had several species of varying ages- some of them were very high energy and gallivanting about, while others were more laid back. Some goats even jumped on people's backs while doing some poses, but it was more common for them to run up to you. The yoga teacher was wonderful. She did many low to the ground poses to encourage goat interaction (they're less intimidated when you're on their level). Although I was so distracted wanting to interact with the goats that I didn't do as much yoga as I should have. There were several gals keeping everything running smoothly- cleaning up after the goats, bringing goats over for you to hold or feed, taking photographs. There were even some newborn baby goats that we were able to hold. Turtle, the youngest goat, fell asleep in my arms, which was the sweetest, most serene experience. After the yoga class was over, we were able to linger and take more photos with the goats. Elizabeth demonstrated feeding one of the mother goats, and we were able to taste goat milk if we wanted to! So fun! They really thought of everything. They send a google link with photos taken during the session- this was a great touch and very appreciated! There was a table with sunscreen, disinfectant, and ice water. Elizabeth gave us some fruit from the farm to take home (which were so sweet and delicious!). The property is gorgeous and well maintained. Now all my friends want to try goat yoga! And I want to come back too! read more

Easter Sunday was my first visit to Sugar Sweet Farm..It certainly will not be my last! What an amazing experience! After all the fear and lockdowns over the past 2 years, the gifted proprietors with their wonderful healing energy along with the healing energy of sweet goats and llamas mingling amongst us, we were lifted into endless waves of joy! I've had a few magical moments on planet earth but Goat Yoga with Elizabeth and her team comes in at the top! The animals are so well loved and cared for and along with the beautiful surroundings one truly feels they are back in the garden of Eden! After an hour of completely relaxing well led Yoga we were treated to the most delicious cinnamon buns and blood orange juice straight from the garden.... ...truly a transformative experience and I recommend sugar sweet farms highly!! read more
