Very good cheesesteak! South philly boy does good in Exton, that's a headline you don't see everyday. The only thing I didn't like, and it was easily corrected with bite size manipulation, was 1st bite was meat and roll, 2nd bite was everything. Everything was great! But it was every other bite. My fiancé and I ordered takeout the other night and it honestly was one of the worst meals I've ever had. I will say, I've never been a huge fan of the food at Appetites mostly we would just go for a few drinks. I'm giving it two stars for the times that we've been and had a good experience at the bar. But I mean come one that's probably the worst looking sandwiches I've ever seen in my life. I couldn't pick it up there was sauerkraut - Russian dressing just overflowing on one side and the other half of the sandwich had all the corned beef. Usually I know that when you order takeout you can expect a little soggy bread or food that's not piping hot but I think most people could tell by looking at the picture that the other side of the break was sopping. Major food turn off. I only made ended up taking a few bites and it tasted pretty meh which is fitting because that is exactly how it looked. My fiancé had wings which were fine but a few still had some feathers on them. I know that happens but I've worked in food service before and I know most places either wash their wings before and notice the feathers or, pluck them off before they go in the fryer. I met a friend here for the night and, well, review is gonna be what it's gonna be. Looked at the available food options, all a bit overpriced, and WAY too many options. Also, the menu is impossible to navigate from the phone that they want you to use. Every single menu subcategory has to be opened one at a time, and you can't look across them. So trying to figure out what to get took easily 20 minutes. Negative. All of the appetizers looked overpriced and trendy instead of actually good, so I went with a cheesesteak with onions. It was a little overpriced but at least there was a good portion with what I wanted on it. Can't complain too hard about that. My friend got a crab cake, but she's not a foodie so it's hard to really get her feedback to feed into this review. My take is honestly - it's a place. It's got food. Love this place. It's one of the only not-a-major-chain bars/restaurants in the area. Huge variety on the menu so almost anyone can find something they like. Since my fiancée and I have moved to Exton, we've noticed that Appetites was always busy whenever we passed by, so we recently decided to give it a try. There's a good size bar with plenty of TVs to catch a game, and a smaller seating area in the back with more TVs. The menu is expansive and filled with tasty options, and we did notice that they have a gluten free menu you can request, which is a real plus. We shared the nachos, which were pretty good and packed with toppings, and a fish bowl, which was the right size for two people to share. I ordered the Mac 'N Cheese Burger with bacon. The burger was tasty and cheesy, but the actual mac 'n cheese wasn't all that noticeable. I'm sure another burger or entree would have been a bit more satisfying. Debated over 2 or 3 stars. Based on my meal, 3, based on my wife's, 2 with the deciding factor being the fries. Stopped in on Monday, 1/4. I had The Heater. For the most part it was pretty good, had nice heat and cheese to meat ratio. Only complaint on the sandwich was one end of the roll was dry and hard. My wife had the Chicken BLT Avocado Wrap with "grilled" chicken. The term "grilled" was loosely used as the chicken was either roasted in the oven or "grilled" on a flat top, either way it was cut in large pieces, more that what you would normally bite instead of being 'sliced" it was also dry. In the time that our order came out, the chicken was not cooked to order and merely reheated, hence the dryness. The avocado was barely present. My wife actually unwrapped it to see if there was actually avocado in the wrap. She did find what accumulated to about 1/8th of an avocado. She also asked for mayo to put on the sandwich to help with the dryness. There wasn't evidence of any dressing/condiment/sauce in the wrap, but noted, it wasn't mentioned on the menu, only an assumption that there would have been, but then again perhaps if there was more avocado, it would have helped. As I mention, the fries were the deciding factor. Fresh fries aren't hard to do so I'm not sure why a restaurant would choose to use a frozen fry. and this brand had to be the worst french fry we ever had, including bake in the oven at home fries. The coating on the fry that helps retain crispness was on the sweet side. It did it's job keeping them crisp and the fries did come out hot. Service was lackluster, just humdrum. The hostess was friendly and efficient. All in, it wouldn't be on our list to return. read more

We actually live in Manhattan but work in PA and this restaurant had a pretty good look and feel... after sitting on their uncomfortable plastic chairs, the only hope and joy that I was waiting to get was from their food. The lady ordered a crab cake and I ordered a pastrami sandwich... both were extremely horrible. The pastrami sandwich was so greasy that I felt nausea-tic by the time I finished half the sandwich. I've been eating here for a few years now and service is always hit or miss. I've had the best services who are so friendly and personable but the bad times outweigh the good. Two of the most memorable moments was asking what the size difference of a half order of nachos compared to the full size and the server told me, "i don't know how much you can eat". Second time was tonight when my friend wanted to try new food and realized he didn't like he. He asked our waiter right away if he could change the fish out in his tacos because he didn't like it. The waiter cut him off mid talk and said hold on and came back with the manager saying, "we can do it this one time but this is a waste of food". I understand that it's a hassle and my friend meant no harm but to come back and have a manager tell us it was a waste of food is extremely unprofessional. The food options are hit or miss with some amazing items and some below average items. They're slightly overpriced for certain items but again it just depends. The bald one acts like an imbecile half the time and the servers are too busy pushing their breasts out for tips to actually serve you. I have seen a delivery girl (I believe she was third party) have to ask for food to be put into the container correctly (food was hanging out even I could see) and the bald manager used his unwashed hands to touch the customers food more than needed but only after acting oblivious to his restaurant mistake. The one bartender was pretty friendly and helpful (I didn't catch her name), but the other one (Brianna) was awkward and you'd think I asked for a kidney when I needed another drink. My big issue was that it was game 4 of the NLCS and they refused to put the Phillies game on the one wall. This made a group of people on one side of the bar strain their necks to watch the game on the other TVs. They instead had the ALCS, Sixers, and Penn State game on. I chose the Reuben sandwich as my splurge with their house chips. I had to wait to eat my food so I snacked on chips as I fed the baby and then ate the sandwich while Ryan held her. The chips were delicious and perfectly crunchy and hardly oily at all. The Reuben was delicious but messy. I wished I had ordered it as a wrap. There was music playing in the background and there were lots of families and friends with their dogs. We will definitely be back. It took use 15 minutes to decide what we wanted to eat because the restaurant has such an extensive list. Ryan definitely said he thought we found our pub.
