The cookies are amazing. We get cookies here often because the cookies are so great, but we hardly ever have a good experience with service. Here are things we've dealt with: missing cookies in order, not receiving online order, online order service not working, staff unable to refund for cookies not received. Just be prepared to have high levels of patience when going here. Apparently we think it's worth it because we haven't stopped going back. EDIT: They seem to be getting it together. As always, our cookies didn't disappoint. We stop here every time we're in town. We bought two dozen assorted cookies. Our favorites are the Ron Swanson, molasses, and brownie cookie. Great cookies, but the "tool" answering the phone needs to find a safe place to hide in.

I randomly decided to do this around 11 pm. Ordering was easy and the cookies arrived still warm in the box at the exact moment they were suppose to. The staff was friendly when I called to make sure I had put in a delivery and not a pickup order. The cookies and milk were great and a nice little treat to have them fresh made. Side note I did have an issue finishing my order online getting an error. This is by far the best cookie company ever. We went to Boone and heard we needed to stop in and get some cookies. We went and were absolutely amazed by how fresh and good they are. I am also gluten free and was so excited that they offered gluten free options and they didn't taste like cardboard or crumble when you picked them up. I have told many people about you guys and even had some order online and I placed an order as well. Bummed there isn't one closer to me (Raleigh) but the shipping prices aren't bad. read more

Went to this place the other weekend when I came down for my brothers graduation. The cookies were FANTASTIC! They are open really late and cookies are made to order which made them all the better. Love the cheesecake, white chocolate chip macadamia nut, and one that contained blueberries and oatmeal(forgot the name). Staff was very helpful and patient while we ordered! Would highly recommend and would go again. Only downside is it's a little expensive, but you should definitely try it :). read more

I ordered cookies for delivery. 13 hours later I still haven't received them. I got a confirmation email and everything. Terrible service on the phone as well. The guy had no idea what to say. Worst experience I've had. Came in around 4:00 and ordered 4 cookies and 3 milks. I was told that it would take 20-30 minutes to receive my order. Almost an hour later, still waiting, I was told they were out of the Ron Swanson's. I had ordered 3 of them. Since my time at app, I deff support Appalachian cookie company. It's convenient and I normally pick up my order and the employees are super friendly and helpful. They have a variety of cookie options from classic Chocolate Chip to Red Wine Dark Chocolate (a seasonal cookie) to Cheesecake Cookies. Each of the cookies were outstanding. I've been going to App Cookie Co almost weekly since it opened and used to LOVE it. Seriously, I went all the time. In the last 6-12 months (around when the Charlotte store opened) customer service has plummeted. I seriously have NEVER gotten a correct order, or an apology, in this time. I've had to wait for an hour and leave without cookies because after forgetting to make my order they ran out of that dough on other orders, been told they're closing early after I already paid for my order and that I can get reimbursed the next day, and waited an hour and a half after they didn't put in my order and then put in the wrong order and had to remake it and never got a discount, refund, apology. This has happened consistently. I love supporting local business and love App Cookie Co, but until things change I will not be returning. read more

To put it simply, these cookies are absolutely amazing. It is a travesty that I graduated AppState and was unable to experience the deliciousness of this cookies while I was there as they were not open yet! Every time I visit Boone, I have to make a to go order to pick up these cookies. You cannot go wrong with the Chocolate Chip, Ron Swanson, or the Yosef-the latter of which just so happens to be vegan, gluten free and is has coconut, what more do you want in life? Im not vegan or gluten free but I do appreciate the kind cashier who asked if I needed my cookies to be separated in boxes due to allergy issues. That type of customer service goes a long way and I hope to see Appalachian Cookie Co. expand beyond Boone and into Charlotte so I can eat their cookies more regularly! Keep baking! read more

OMG!!! It's cookies. WARM cookies. That they deliver to your door. What's not to love? My daughter had been hinting about this place for a while but I'd not given in until I visited her one weekend and we indulged a late night craving. We tried a variety - the cheesecake, white chocolate macadamia nut, cranberry walnut, mint choc chip and Ron Swanson. The Ron Swanson was yucky - completely nasty. But the others were soooooooooooo good. She thinks she's taking the leftovers back to the dorm. She'll have to pry them from my cold dead fingers. Really disappointed. I originally had one of these cookies while on a college tour last summer. It was a really good cookie given to us by the ASU admin. We couldn't wait to get another one when we returned to Boone. We recently had a return visit to the college. We had planned all day to stop by the shop and pick up a dozen or so for the trip back home. They had very few choices in the case to choose from. There was no way we would be getting a dozen by what they had to offer. The girl at the counter asked my daughter if she was a student. Her answer was yes, I've been accepted and will start in the fall. The girl replied, that she wished she had lied and said yes, but she forgot her ID, so she could give her a discount. Geez, how bout a discount for being an honest person. As for the cookies,. They were dry and really lacking in flavor. Glad we only bought 4. There are several other cookie company's near the campus. I would guess it will be a different place that will get our business for the next 4 years. read more

Cookies are always hot and delicious. Seem to take...curiously long whenever we pick them up to be made fresh but I'm willing to look past it based on how good they are. The Ron Swanson is good but not as good as everyone says it is, stop jerking yourselves off so much guys. They also seem to be SO moist that they can't take up much milk, but make of that what you wish. Excellent cookies and not too expensive. The cookies are $1.49 each and bigger than most any cookie place ive been to. They make the cookies fresh as you order and even deliver in the local area, i thought that was pretty cool! They have a large selection of flavors as well. We will definitely go back again! read more
