Delicious ice cream sandwich! I loved the double chocolate cookie and their ice cream was great. The girls working there were so sweet and fun! read more

Great place for a coffee, cookies or ice cream. Located on King Street parking next to the shop. (If you go on the weekend the parking deck across the street is free parking) I had a peanut butter cookie it was really thin but had great flavor with peanut chunks. My husband got the oatmeal raisin cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream. He liked it - there was so much ice cream I took some and made mine a sandwich- the ice cream was really creamy and good. Quiet inside good food reading or studying. Down side for people with disabilities- step to get in - the workers are super friendly I am sure they would bring the food out. read more

I went on July 31st at around 4pm, the cookie sandwich was good but the girls working there mocked my family who were looking at the menu, I thought it was super unprofessional and honestly super off putting. Would come again if they got different staff. read more

My husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway in Boone and decided to stop by blue deer for a sweet treat. We both got the double chocolate chip cookie sandwiches but with different ice creams. My husband got the coffee ice cream and I got the peppermint ice cream. Loved the cookie sandwich! Peppermint ice cream is so hard to get right especially since it can taste like toothpaste but blue deer got it right - sweet, tasty, and perfect texture. I loved it so much that I came back the next day to get the exact same thing. The two girls working were very nice and helpful. Samples of ice cream are also offered to help narrow down your options. read more

This location is at the end of busy main street Boone. Parking is a little small and tight. The two staff who were working greeted us and were pleasant. My wife and I each ordered an ice cream sandwich. The cookies were good as well as ice cream. Sandwiches come wrapped in paper, in a boat and includes a wooden spoon. I felt ice cream was a little soft and melted quickly. The value is good. To me it's a novelty to spurge on every once in while. read more

Another nice coffee shop. I stopped here on the way out of Boone for a coffee for the road. I ordered an iced dreamsicle (orange) latte. It was definitely interesting, probably not my favorite but not bad by any means. A bit steep ($7) after tip, but I guess you can't really even get a hot drip anywhere for less than $4 so I can't complain too much! The shop itself is really clean and cozy, there is an upstairs area too where I sat for a bit while enjoying the first few sips and watching passersby on the main street below., I think next time I would try a different flavor and definitely get a cookie and/or ice cream. read more

Hidden gem! Loved my gluten free cookie ice cream sandwich! Good coffee, too! Perfect afternoon treat.

Small shop, went a little later for a sweet treat and even though they were closing early for a staff meeting, were still accommodating and got our icecream quick. Great cookies and ice cream! read more

I think this is good well priced desserts! First, the prices are good! The cookie sandwich is about $5 and you get two cookies with ice cream. The cookies are good and so is the ice cream. Also, I like the atmosphere! The people working here were really nice. And the seating is nice too! There is seating on the first floor, a second floor loft, and outside on the roof. read more

Stopped by for an ice cream sandwich. It was delicious. You choose your cookie type and the ice cream you want. I had the peanut butter cookie with coffee ice cream. The ice cream was so rich and creamy and full of flavor. The cookie was the perfect amount of peanut butter and so soft and chewy. The staff were extremely friendly. read more

Blue Deer was on my must do list during a recent trip to the mountains after seeing them on Instagram several times. They have a decent menu with plenty of cookies, ice cream, and other drinks to choose from. After several minutes of indecision I ordered the gingersnap cookies and peppermint ice cream since it's the holidays. The wait was worth it! The employee (nice college kid who'd been doing homework) handed me the biggest ice cream sandwich I'd ever seen! No joke, it was probably 3" tall. I attacked it with a spoon. The ice cream had lots of flavor and was rich. Put this on your list! I wish Raleigh had one. read more

The food and the service were outstanding. The apple pie ice cream was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Service was quick, employees were super nice and helpful! Ice cream was delectable and I think it's so neat that you can choose your cookies for the ice cream sandwiches, even different ones for the top and bottom! The space is clean and calm. Wonderful lil spot on a warm day! read more

Yummy cookies and the coffee is smooth and dark. Plus, it's now available in Blowing Rock and Boone!

Friendly staff, tasty cookies, and good coffee. What more do you need? :). This is seriously a hidden gem on King St. Walk a bit further down and have a cookie ice cream sandwich. You won't regret it. read more

We were in Boone for a week visit, and our Airbnb host recommended that we try blue deer. We were so glad we stopped by! This location on King had just opened about two weeks earlier. On a hot summer day, this was the perfect place to stop by! The store is small, only one table and a couple of bar seats downstairs. So with COVID-19, if there is more than one person in line, they might have to wait outside the door in order to social distance. But they do have an upstairs patio that the employees mentioned to us (we didn't get a chance to go up there and see it). The employees were very friendly and gave us their recommendations since it was our first time in the store. We both got their signature ice cream sandwich - two cookies with ice cream in the middle. We choose to do the standard chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. Delicious! The store also had a variety of coffee drinks. Would definitely recommend stopping by here if you are walking around downtown Boone! read more

After having some BBQ, my kids got a craving for ice cream. Here enters blue deer. The spot is tiny but very bright and clean. I loved that they have a dedicated parking lot just next to the store. I didn't try any ice cream, but my kids didn't leave a drop. I did get a mint mocha coffee that was fantastic, and my husband got a mountain..something something (it was on their chalkboard specials board) coffee drink that was delicious as well. Cookies were out of this world. Service was nice. Check it out! read more

Review based solely on ice cream since that's what we purchased. We tried the chocolate Reece's ice cream. It was cold and met our sweet tooth craving, but it wasn't fantastic. More thick than creamy. The store itself is super cute and minimal. Prices were definitely fair, $3 for a generous sized cup of ice cream, and $2.50 - $5 for different coffee drinks. Staff was helpful and gave suggestions since it was our first visit. I would love to go back and try a cold brew or a latte. read more

Cute little shop with a small upstairs and terrace. If you are a college student looking some place to study. This is the place. Best cookies in town! Plus delicious ice cream and I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This is the cutest coffee shop. From the moment we walked in we were very welcomed and also they told us all about their menu. The Vanilla Latte was honestly one of the best lattes I've ever had. Ice cream was amazing!! I will say the vibe seemed slightly pretentious and not really suitable for families with kids Under 16, so we took ours to go. However since it's so close to the college we figured the vibe was more geared towards college age adults. read more

This place is ok nothing special and nothing to spend your money on... honestly because of the service I received i wish I could give less stars. The man that helped us (looked like an older grad student possibly the manager or even the owner) was rude and not warm at all. He also seemed to talk very rudely to the other staff (who were pretty nice) Won't be going to either of the locations again. Additionally the cookies were dry, you have to pay for water and no one was wearing masks. Also minimal social distancing read more
