Peppermint ice cream is so hard to get right especially since it can taste like toothpaste but blue deer got it right - sweet, tasty, and perfect texture. I loved it so much that I came back the next day to get the exact same thing. The two girls working were very nice and helpful. I've yet to get ice cream or anything like when I go to Blue Deer, but about the half time I stop by there's usually a small line which goes to show how good the quality is in general. It's very much a hole-in-the wall, especially with Blowing Rock being a very small town, but it's quaint and friendly, and it feels good to support a local business. The nice thing as well is that it's basically at the end of Main, so you can get your coffee and walk the entire drag exploring the shops. Whenever I'm in the area I love stopping in here and I'll definitely be doing so for a while :)
