Picked up some cookies for dessert on our way back to the hotel. I've heard a lot about Insomnia over the years, but never had a chance to go to one before this, so decided to give it a try. The staff were friendly when we walked in, seemed suprringly slow and empty for a Saturday night, but maybe it was too early in the evening. They had a good variety of cookies, and (2) sizes to pick from. The selection made it tough, but we got (2) each, to take back and share in the hotel. We ended up with (2) classic chocolate chip, (1) classic s'mores and (1) brookie, all in, we were at almost $15. They were still warm when we got back to the hotel. Cookies are fine but when we walked in 2 HOURS before they closed chairs were up and we were confused if it was even open. When we opened the door to ask if they were open the girl came around the corner and said she was "just hiding from customers." Then it took literally 20 minutes for her to make one cookie and kept taking care of other customers while we waited for her to even start our order. Meh, I was highly unimpressed. We have a location back in Charlotte. I figured with a name like Insomnia they'd be open late (and they were). Being from out of town and with plans to sleep in my car for the night I thought I could burn some time munching on a cookie here and doing some writing. There are a total of eight high chairs at two bars. Six of the spaces were either occupied by the employees or cluttered by their crap. When placing my order with the seemingly high and impatient (but slow?) cashier I asked if I could sit at the space with stuff in the way. She moved the stuff over then another customer went and sat in the space after literally hearing me ask for it. The employee didn't even try to suggest that she was clearing the spot for me. I was just mind boggled standing there giving the other customer the dirtiest WTH look. I got the ice cream sandwich cookie and it was honestly quite good. Incredibly sweet and I agree with another reviewer that you really can't eat more than one or two of these in one go. But I will never be back to test that anyways. This place basically sucked. Grateful for the concept. Every town should have one. Purchased a classic deluxe cookie box. So far 1 cookie harder than a biscotti. $7 cookie ice cream sandwich had the 2 smallest scoops. Not worth it. They require a mask but don't wear gloves. When scooping the ice cream his long dangling hair was so close to touching my sandwich. His whole head was in the ice cream freezer. This location refused to adhere to the Insomnia Cookies promotional for graduate students. The promotional ad states if you have no cap and gown any proof you are graduating is fine. However, the young woman with red hair was very rude and would not accept any other proof that I graduated today. My graduate program did not require cap and gowns for us to walk. I showed her my official graduation status on my student account and pictures from my graduation ceremony dated TODAY. She was dismissive. There were no other customers so I'm not sure where her poor attitude was stemming from. Extremely disappointed. Will never use this or any Insomnia Cookie location again! Ordered cookies for my Daughter's Birthday and they failed to deliver them due to several excuses the best being "we couldn't find a parking space" to her work address. Cookies were supposed to be delivered at 4:15 but they couldn't find a parking space and the office closed at 5:00. When asked if they could go the extra mile and deliver to her home, they responded "no that's outside our deliver zone". Called the number listed on the website for the store but you only get connected to a "Customer Support Center" in Philadelphia. You cannot contact the local store directly which seems sketchy. Speaking with Customer Support they did not seem concerned about the "we couldn't find a parking space" excuse. They only offered a refund or re-delivery option. Nothing for the entire inconvenience. Didn't seem to care at all. Poor Customer Service. I have used another Insomnia Cookies location for several corporate events and to place hundreds of customer appreciation orders but never again and will not recommend them due to the lack of their extremely Poor Corporate Customer service. I personally love insomnia cookies, also because I'm almost always wanting cookies at 12 at night. They are fresh baked always and I have never had any bad experiences with the girls working there. The only downfall is they are pretty expensive for just cookies, but so is Appalachian cookie company (who I love as well). This is not the first time I have experienced problems such as these when ordering from Boone, NC Insomnia Cookie store. I placed an order that took over an hour to get delivered, when I live around seven minutes from the store. When I received my order half of it was missing and it seemed like the cookies had been sitting out for a while. We had to reach out to customer service four times, who seemed to not even be communicating with the store. They originally claimed that the full order was delivered, it was not. They then told us they would bring the rest of the order within 15 minutes of us calling to complain. We waited over 45 minutes and had not received the order or had anyone from the store reach out to us. We called again to ask where the order was, they then told us that the delivery driver was never even headed back towards our home to bring the rest of our order, but would be "on the way shortly."After waiting a total of over two and a half hours we just called back and canceled the order, asking to be refunded for the items we were missing. This whole process was extremely difficult and frustrating and we will not be ordering from this store location ever again. read more

The Assistant Manager overcharged us on a promotion she claimed that she didn't know about because she "never stands on that side of the counter". This company served me ice cream that contained tiny clear chunks of rubber. Of course it was an accident, but when I showed the company and asked for a refund they all but refused. First they tried to convince me to accept coupons instead, then when I said no they explained that it would be hard to do and the cashier was "new". Over thirty minutes went by, his supervisor never called him back to help with the refund- meanwhile I was avoided. I had to call customer service myself to ask for a supervisor, and was finally given my refund. read more
