Apollo Bagels is hands down my favorite spot to get a lox bagel. The service was fast and friendly and I loved that they had some room for seating. The flavors mix together so well and I love that they added citrus to it, gives the whole thing such a fresh bright taste that really sets it apart. The open faced style is also a nice touch, you actually get to see and taste everything they put on it instead of it being smushed together. I'm from Chicago and have tried plenty of lox bagels back home, but nothing has come close to this one. Will definitely be making a stop here every time I come back to NYC. I tried Apollo Bagels in the Financial District on my first ever trip to New York because I wanted the NYC bagel experience, and it did not disappoint. I ordered an everything bagel with vegan cream cheese, tomato, red onion, olive oil, and seasoning, plus the fresh homemade orange juice they make right in front of you. Everything was SO good that I actually went back a second time during my trip lol. The bagels are huge and honestly kept me full for most of the day. One of the days I went it was insanely crowded and there was basically nowhere to sit, but honestly... worth it. The bagel is a bit crunchier than I typically like it but the flavors came together so well and it was absolutely delicious. The lines can get long so come early!
