Came here on the last day of my trip and I wish I knew about this location sooner. The 35th st location has LINES OUT THE DOOR. But this location was less crowded and also consistently as good. Got my usual BEC add scallion bacon cc on a toasted scooped wwe bagel and it didn't disappoint. ALSO- tried a blueberry bagel with blueberry cc and Thai was also VERY good. I thought they were just ok. Seems like this bagel shop relies on tourist interest in their specials - Red, White & Blue Liberty bagel, and their Rainbow colored bagel. Many on line were waiting to purchase these when I was there. Yes, they are both colorful and pleasing to the eye but it's just food coloring added to them. I found little difference in taste compared to their regular bagels which are pretty good. Yet, they charge an extra $1.60 per bagel for these specialty colored ones. If you want a pretty colored bagel to snap pics of to place on your social media then splurge away. They also offer a standard bagel selection, cream cheeses, paninis, wraps, and hot bagel sandwiches. read more

Liberty Bagels is famous for their two colorful bagels, the Liberty bagel (red, white and blue) and the Rainbow bagel. Between the two, I preferred the Rainbow one more, as it had a sweet fruity flavor to it. While their color is made them go viral, this place actually has very high quality bagels in general. The bagels are old fashioned hand rolled kettle boiled bagels. They are huge and very fluffy and definitely one of the best bagels I've had in New York City. They also offer a unique selection of cream cheeses as well. Some of the flavors of cheese cheese flavors sold here are Oreo, birthday cake and maple bacon. read more

Listen Im in Boston, we dont have bagel places like NYC did so when I was staying at the hotel around the corner and there was a line out the door, I thought OMG FInally!!! A bagel place, I LOVE BAGELS... I wasnt wow'd. I mean it was good, but I dont get the line out the door. It was just a bagel sandwich, I really want to find a place where their sesame bagel actually tastes like sesame vs just a plain bagel with seeds on it. Went to Liberty Bagels for lunch on a Friday. There is limited seating but we were able to snag some seats. You order at the counter and they call your name when your order is ready. I got the Liberty bagel; red, white and blue. I think because there was so much dye in the bagel, the bagels texture was off. The chipotle cream cheese had a good kick to it. I am not sure why the cream cheese alone is the same price as the bagel. I also was not a fan of the amount of cream cheese given, it was too much. It was also confusing where you pick up and put your bagel order in. There is a sign but the menu with prices are posted everywhere repeatedly which makes it confusing. read more

My daughter talked me into coming here for the viral rainbow bagel. We got there around 11 and I was looking at past reviews and wondering if they were going to sell out like others said. It was a weds morning and they were fully stocked on their bagels. My daughter for one with the birthday cake cream cheese and she of course loved it. I got the lox cream cheese and It was delicious. There was a long line but this place knows what they're doing because it really was not a long wait at all, considering the amount of people in line. Appreciated the quick and efficient service on top of the deliciously toasted bagel from here. I just wanted to grab a quick bagel on my way back to the Amtrak station to go home and I chose to come to Liberty because Best Bagels across the street was wayyyy too packed, but I'm glad I came here anyway and probably will continue to go here. The bagels are on the right side as soon as you enter and after you place your order, you take the receipt over to the register on the left side to pay. I stopped by Liberty Bagels after a laser appointment and grabbed a sesame bagel, lightly toasted, with butter, black pepper, and an egg. Honestly, nothing about it stood out. The bagel was fine, but not memorable, and definitely didn't live up to all the hype. For the price, I expected something a lot better. Overall, it felt overrated and not worth going out of the way for. If you're nearby and need something quick, maybe it works but I wouldn't choose it again. It's a small busy spot very busy and the girl at the register I think her name was Ana wasn't welcoming at all. Given its morning would appreciate a smile and hello. Classic NYC bagel spot and stoked I got the chance to try it while I was in town. Came in here on a Friday evening and it was empty (shocker, not a lot of people out there who would get a bagel for dinner). Overall, the space was pretty clean and everything on the menu had pictures on the wall which made it easy to know what to order. To nobody's surprise in our party, the lox bagel was excellent. The cream cheese was flavorful and fish tasted fresh despite it being later on in the day. Snagged a picture in front of the bagel wall on my way out. If you're coming to New York for the first time and doing all the touristy things around that part of the city (Statue of Liberty, Charging Bull) I would heavily recommend coming here as part of that experience! read more

It's a very popular spot with a long line. That said, the line moved quickly and there are lots of employees working. There are people waiting around the counters and a busy ambiance. There is a large selection of bagels, cream cheeses, and other items. The customer service is super friendly with the doorman showing me where the line was, the cashier person taking my order (I typed it for him), and then the order coming out quickly. This place was packed! We arrived just in time at around 8:30 am. There was already a line out the door. My daughter wanted to try the rainbow bagel. I got the bacon, egg and cheese on the everything bagel. Both bagels were delicious! I'm from Chicago. Bagels are not a big deal in Chicago. The food was great. The store is small. I chanced upon Liberty Bagel while discovering the beautiful stores and art galleries on and around 5th Avenue. The behind the counter gentleman was friendly and helpful and explained what the store menu offered. The ambiance was good, the store felt clean and inviting. The variety and display of cream cheeses was so mouth watering and beautiful. I haven't ever seen a cream cheese selection of both savoury and sweet ingredients, like this before . I chose a sesame bagel with salmon and scallion cream cheese, for lunch. I have never tasted such a delicious bagel which was so fresh and tasty.The scallion and lox cream cheese spread was so smooth and creamy and was generously scooped onto the bagel. Both the scallions an actual pieces of lox in the cream cheese were fresh and delicious. I will definitely be returning to this Liberty Bagel store when next I visit New York City. Super disappointing bagel.. a $20 let down. I got the classic nova on a toasted jalapeno cheddar everything bagel and it had to be one of the toughest bagel sandwiches I've ever eaten. I appreciate a good toasted exterior with a chewy inside as you'd expect from any decent bagel, but it was as if you had to twist your head to tear off the bagel. The redeeming factor was they had a decent schmear and loads of lox, but the flavors weren't really there for me either. I couldn't bring my self to finish this despite being the only thing I ate that morning so all in all a disappointing bagel, but I was hoping this was a fluke since NYC is the last place I'd think of having a bad bagel. My family also tried their novacado on a lightly toasted plain bagel which mirrored my experience from my order as well as a french toast bagel with dubai chocolate cream cheese that was just okay. As much as I'd love to come back to give it another try, the experience left much to be had and there are an abundance of quality bagels throughout the city that I'd rather eat. read more

Good bagels. It is so busy here due to its proximity to Times Square and Penn Station so the lines are often out the door. I will say, I love the Jackson Heights location better - bagels are bigger and slightly cheaper but I get it - when you're paying primo rent prices in Manhattan, everything will be different. But ordering is pretty easy - go to the back of the store to order and then wait for your order # to get called. All in all, a great place when you're craving a solid bagel! read more
