Trash customer service with trash employees. They are some of the rudest people i have encountered. One even gave me the finger as my back was turned but i could see in the corner of my eye. On Jan 18, 2025 I went with my family (wife, son & daughter) from Valley Stream, NY 16+ miles O/W to buy monthly grocery rice, Spices, vegetables, bread & cookies etc. Casher Ms. Sharnjeet did her job efficiently our bill was $426.20 paid by credit card. Upon checking at home found $85.92 item was not ours. Next day called the store asked to talk to manager I was briefly put on hold then Ms. Shivinder came on line and spoke in a very polite & professional manner saying not only one item that I indicated, there were 3 more items and charged to my bill that equals to $ 100.89, said it was computer error She requested with apology if I come to the store she will refund the amount on my card. We went to the store refund was processed immediately. Ms. Shivinder presented a gift pack of dates saying that we had to take the trouble to come again. As an airlines employee I view it was excellent handling that I learned in 12 weeks at Ground training school which your Manager is doing without a training. I moved to the Glen Oaks area a year ago and have frequented this small grocery store many times without any issues with my little dog who I either carry in a bag or arm. However, after today's visit, I will never come here again! Like always, my dog was in my arm and I was browsing when this rude woman who worked there walked up to me with a smirk and said dogs are not allowed. I told her I've been here plenty of times and no one said a dog wasn't allowed inside especially since I was carrying her in my arms... she wasn't even on the floor! Mind you, never once in my year of frequenting this establishment has ANYONE told me dogs were not allowed, not one employee who saw me carrying my dog inside.. not the cashiers who saw my dog as I paid for my groceries... I walked 3 blocks down to Premium Supermarket and will never visit Apna Bazar again after this horrible encounter! read more

Since we've become a fan of Indian food, this is the first Indian store that I've step foot in. Based on first impressions, the store has a look and feel of a typical neighborhood Chinese grocery store but Indian. My only purchase was a bag of frozen rotli bread but will definitely return to shop for more food items such as basmati rice, spices and sauces. The prices are definitely cheaper than buying the same items in a non-Indian grocery store. The parking lot (which is shared with Taco Bell) is small and narrow. I would warn shoppers to park your car at your own risk. read more

An alternate Indian store to Patel Brothers down the block, has its own parking lot which gives a plus. Purchased only a bag of basmati rice- oh boy, lots of choices. Definitely coming back to shop and check out for more food items. The guy who helped us was nice, hand carried my 20 lb rice bag to the counter line, determined to get our vote to shop there more often. Its a small store but looks like offers everything. read more

This parking lot is an absolute nightmare even tho the lot of full. People still insist on trying to pull into a full lot leading to a backup to hillside Ave.. I simply honked my horn for the car to move up so I can pass down 260th street and one of the employees started cursing at me because he did not like that I honked my horn. Apna Bazar is awesome. Great deals. 3.5 pounds of almonds for $12. Mangoes were cheap as well. The Herbi Plus toothpaste is outstanding. Once you try it, it will be hard to go back to the garbage toof paste you are used to scrubbing with. Come through to the Apna Bazar and do the best job with what karma has given you! read more

I like his place a lot much better than Patel bros down the block! This is a fairly small grocery store but they have tried to pack everything in it! Very competitive pricing my only issue is parking is a bitch around this area! Also it's not shopping cart friendly! Overall this is one solid place to come for indian food read more

This place is probably why I can afford fresh groceries and still have a roof over my head. Grocery places by here are ridiculously expensive, so it's nice to finally find a spot with fresh and affordable produce. Some of the spices they sell here are by the pound and very cheap! The same spices online go for much much more! Buying just eggs and onions from this spot could save you a lot of money. Their Samosas are also really good and inexpensive! Upside that it's 24hrs! Always go late nights, it's less packed. read more

The vegetables are not fresh and the basmati rice is not even real rice. There is no smell to it when you cook it. The beans are not good either. Overall I would tell you to avoid this supermarket you are better off going to patel brothers. I'm never going to shop there now because of this bad experience. read more

Very Bad Customer Service! The ladies who work there, are not at all courteous. They are worst to be behind the counter WATCH OUT!!!! 1. They keep many expired items on their shelves. When you show/ask them, they simply ask you to go and exchange it for which ever packet you want. 2. They charge for extra items which you did not even buy. When you ask after realizing, they say its for some other item which is of the same price. Infact, we have matched item to item, but several times, atleast 1 item would be extra on our bill. It might be very less amount, but, still they are CHEATERS!!! 3. They have different price on the packed stuff than the price which shows on the receipt. 4. When you call them to complain, they just disconnect or hang up. They DO NOT admit their mistakes. The Store owner/Manager never listens/helps out any complaints. If the Food department visits them, certainly, they would make them throw huge amount of food due to expired date and also penalize them. Due to all these, I do not have anything good to say about this store. Becos, there are other stores where I can get the same stuff. Its not like they sell something unique - so given 1 star. read more
