I don't usually write reviews for markets, but kudos to the manager and employees of the Lidl in Glen Oaks. The store is very clean, spacious, and spotless. I've visited some of the neighboring Lidls, but this one seems to be the one I'll frequent more often going forward. The produce, aisles, meats and frozen foods were all stocked and in order. One telling sign that the employees are doing their jobs well is that the bakery is always stocked with bakery tissue paper for grabbing goods and the bags for the items. Nice size Lidl but they never have registers open, only self check out. I come in the morning when they open and lunch time and both times only self check out. It's a shame because it's convenient but not if you have to wait forever for checkout. Also make sure you scan items slow or else it will not register and you have to wait forever someone. read more

Never has any carts. I don't know how's it's possible but it's an unkempt store not organized and no carts. Go to other Lidls in the area.

Finally we have a new grocery in the neighborhood! We'd been waiting for LIDL for a while. To welcome shoppers, they give a $5 promo credit and an additional $10 coupon for the opening week. Everyone should download an app or log- in to their site to create an account. Once you did, you could just punch in your phone number on the pad, no need to show your QR code if ever downloaded the app. Love the flowers section on the entrance. It sort like a welcoming sign. Prices are reasonable. Plenty of stocks on each aisle shelves. Liking part of the promotion this week... baked goods like croissant for 49 cents! The smell from bakery section is irresistible that you will stop by there first. There are items that only LIDL offers for being known as German food retail. This is something definitely will be love by everyone. I need to come back for full browsing. Anyway, this is going to be my go to grocery from now on. read more

I am so glad there is a supermarket we can walk to. We went to this supermarket in the morning and it was crowded but comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to smell the baked goods from the parking lot. When we arrived we saw a variety of fruits and vegetables. The freshness of the fruits, especially when they are on sale, are a hit or miss. Milk and Bakery items are a must. The bagels and apple turnovers were really good. To get the sales, you must download the app, which is not difficult. I'll definitely be making my morning trips to this place for their baked items. read more

Stopped into Lidl on Union Turnpike for some last minute Thanksgiving items and had a pretty good experience. The store was clean, organized, and easy to look through. The food selection I checked out was fresh and easy to find. The service was helpful enough when I needed the direction. I found what I needed without any issues, and the visit was quick and smooth. Overall, a pleasant visit and I'd shop here again and I would love to come back again to see everything Lidl has to offer. read more

I've been a big Lidl fan since they popped up in East Meadow, one of their first long island stores. They are amazing and this location is prime in my opinion. I prefer this one to the Fresh Meadows one where the aisles are so cramped. The parking lot is huge and I never have to fight for parking. The location is key: you have Burlington Coat factory next door, McDonalds and Walgreens close by. Chase bank, the post office and the library are all within walking distance. This store is clean and spacious. The food is fresh. The employees are courteous and helpful. Even if you get locked out of your MyLidl app when it's your turn at the register, they kindly remind you to enter your phone number to retrieve your rewards account. I love the great deals on the cheese and produce. Sometimes I find good seasonal items like their Greek honey. The home section tends to be a hit or miss. I did purchase a foldable basket that I use for my own shopping instead of relying on store baskets (I did this during the pandemic). Overall I do feel like I get value here at Lidl and am a satisfied customer. Also if you buy the canned Lidl seltzers, they do recycle those cans at the store machines. Nice grocery store to this neighborhood. Clean and well stocked. Staff were friendly and helpful. This was my second day in row coming back here. I figured I'd see if there is a difference between a weekend day and weekday, both the same in regard to the lines to pay for food. Take away: Lines are too long, long waiting for groceries. It's really frustrating when I can go down the block to shop-rite and opt for self check out or the register. Today was 3 registers open and still long lines. Self-check was not available. Hoping they fix this issue with the long lines. Most likely, I won't waste my time coming here for a while. read more

So happy to finally have a solid grocery store in the neighborhood! They've really improved over the past year with better-quality items and more organic options. They don't have everything, but they cover most essentials, and prices are generally reasonable. The only downside is that they could use a few more workers to stock and ring customers. There are many elderly and non English speaking customers in the area who need help navigating checkout. Overall, it's a great store! read more

Nice, clean and organized supermarket with good deals so far - Great produce section but not too many organic produce available. Good for basic food items - Helpful cashiers. This area needed a supermarket badly. If your looking for specialty food items they won't have them here. They currently have Christmas candy and chocolate. I came here to check out the new lidl that took forever to open and I am so happy they finally opened. The store is huge and so nice inside. They had lots of parking and shopping carts to choose from which was so convenient. The prices here are so good and the store was so clean with the sleeves fully stocked. I would definitely love to make this my weekly supermarket with their great prices and good quality food. They have a variety of store brands ranging from their generic brands to name branded items at great prices which comes in handy in this economy. The only thing I noticed is they didnt sell alcohol yet. I wonder if its because they are waiting for a license but hopefully they sell it soon! Please give the Glen Oaks Lidl a try! This definitely increases the value of Glen Oaks village and the surrounding areas! read more

This store is absolutely disgusting and unsafe. I went shopping today at at 2pm and I almost slipped because there was a huge flood of water in front of the meat counter. There was no papertowels or staffer on the floor attending to the spill. I spoke to an associate and got brushed off. Produce section is unkempt and gross. Customers eat produce without buying it. This store is disgusting. it's always dirty, the garbage bin at the entrance is always overflowing, there are papers and garbage all over the aisles. The plant and produce aisles are a mess; produce looks unappetizing. There are always papers and pieces of bread on the floor by the breads. The entire ambiance is of a third world country, as if that is what we deserve. Cashiers are mostly MIA. Customers have to stand on long lines to check themselves out and most registers are always "closed" . The entire trip to that store is depressing. They treat customers with contempt as if this is the treatment we deserve. The quality is cheap and poor. Not an addition to the neighborhood. Hoping they don't stay long: we NEED amad DESERVE a real supermarket, not a dump. read more

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the meat that is never fresh. I moved here about 2 months ago and it's just the nearest grocery store to me, so I shop here out of convenience. Several times I've purchased meat here (different cuts of red beef, and ground turkey) and almost every time I brought it home only to open up a smelly pack of meat. Other than the meat I overall like the grocery store even though they don't carry everything I need. I think that they may be leaving the meat out too long when being delivered. read more

Primetime Rush hour for grocery shopping is after work and no employees in the store. This location is located next to three hospitals and a few schools and there is no registers open only the self service and one customer service representative seen in the entire store. no phone number on the receipt or website to call to speak to a representative to make a complaint only email address addresses and chat absolutely ridiculous for such an expanding franchise. read more

I was so happy to see another supermarket opened up in my area, I was kind of getting tired of seeing the same selection at stop n shop lol bummer that the self check out area is still in the works tho The supermarket is very big and there's lots to look at, they carried some brands that I hadn't seen in years like the Bolthouse juice smoothies, I loved those and thought they were discontinued. The produce looked very fresh and abundant and there was a large variety of meats. The bakery section smelled amazing and it seemed like had all kinds of breads. The way the store is laid out kind of reminds me of Costco because everything is kind of in the box it was shipped in and they sell home stuff and even clothes. I don't know if this is marketing tactic to get you to buy more or maybe they'll just don't have them yet, but I wasn't able to find small shopping basket when I went in. Lastly I hope they'll continue to expand their Asian section because they had some interesting Asian products that I've never seen before. read more

I was there on their grand opening. They carry a good selections of groceries stuff with good prices. Loved their baked good. Almost never leave the store without croissant or apple turnover. They have the worst service ever the night manager doesn't even know what he's doing and their employees are the worse they don't like to work the most laziest people I've ever seen in my life I'm never going back there again because they only have one register open after 8 pm it took me 5 minutes to get what.
