This location can also get packed very quick, I often have to squeeze by people to get to a different aisle. I usually am in and out pretty quickly, not a fan of taking my time here. Trader Joe's Rego Park is my favorite Trader Joe's in NYC! Upon entering the market everything is very organized, staff greet customers warmly, very helpful. I always go in saying, just picking up a couple of items, and those couple of items turn into two bags or more of grocery. Definitely get ADD when I visit Trader Joe's! This location always has my favorites in stock, no crazy traffic jams with 40 minute wait check out lines. Could not believe they had the lowest price I have ever seen on Boursin which is a French ingredient secret to my mashed potatoes that make my garlic whipped mashed potatoes taste the same as the ones served at The Wynn Hotel Las Vegas. Unbelievable... this ingredient has risen to $3 higher in price due to tariffs. Tonight I will make lemon butter salmon with capers, garlic whipped mashed potatoes with sautéed asparagus! They have a decent floral section (not the best compared to other trader Joe's locations and wholefoods locations) which gets sold out by Sunday, but when it comes to essentials like milk and yogurt, I've had to pass. I checked the ingredient labels and was disappointed to see some additives I prefer to avoid, especially on Trader Joe's brand. Would love to see cleaner options in the future. Trader Joe's Rego Park Believe it or not I had a life before I joined Yelp. There was a time when I visited Queens a lot to shop because Manhattan was limited in variety. There were trips to Target, DSW, Sears, Outback Steakhouse and this Trader Joe's. I've been to so many locations because TJ's is a family favorite. Recently though I'm unhappy with the presentation of the chopped Spinach. My daughter tried the new Spinach Cubes and agreed with me that it is going to be very hard to get Five servings from the bag. I've taken photos to show you what I mean. My daughter has already decided to get her chopped Spinach elsewhere. I'm probably going to do the same even if I pay more. Trader Joe's should have left the product alone! It's been a while since I have been to this Trader Joe's. Writing an updated review. There are more checkout counters so even if there is a long line the wait time has been reduced. Tips **Check your receipts sometime there are duplications with the scanners. Most of the staff at checkout they will say hello and acknowledge you. There have been a few who were not as friendly as well as others who do not want to assist you cause they busy talking to their friends. **You can return recalled items as well as return your bottles that you purchase from store while checking out. Returned two items today. Staff had no clue there was a recall for product. Picture of product tape in back of the cashier screen. **Be careful at the parking lot. Customers in a rush leaving. So if driving take caution as well as watch pedestrians walking to car. **Avoid shopping here on the weekends. It's a mob scene has always been like this. It's great to hear that another Trader Joe's will be opening up in Forest Hills in the near future. One thing I must add about the veteran staffers for they are very helpful and friendly. You can approach them and ask for assistance. One woman walks around inquiring if anyone has any questions or needs assistance. Ambiance- Music playing in the background as you shop. There is a security guard standing by the entrance area. Aisles are clear and items stacked up. The younger staff may just run back in front of you and put things away. So watch out when they whizz by you or jump in front of you. They may stay in area and not move until they finish stacking products away. read more

I especially love their cheese section since there is so much to select from. The cashiers are the absolute best. They are fast, super friendly and bag everything with such care. Poor management behind the desk - allows their employees to abuse, aggression and rudeness towards their customers. I was pushed and rudely screamed at because I was not moving fast enough to the next cashier. Very aggressive. The Asian lady ordering who goes next should be fired. She was rude, unprofessional, agitated and had a poor working attitude - I couldn't wait to get the hell out of this store. Horrific. They treated handicap and elderly people so unkind due to their vulnerability and when I spoke up and defended I was screamed at by the Asian lady. She is extremely unprofessional and rude!!! The managers behind allow her to treat loyal customers badly and that is a poor reflection of TJ and their brand. Traders Joe's....you love em and sometimes you don't love em. Welp, this location is decent. There seems to be times when the employees communication is off. I have asked if they can look in the back for things and they will but then not come back out for some time. They do normally have great selection, but can lack in certain areas. Even when the store gets busy they are hands on by making sure they have several cashiers to assist the customers and get them out! Love this about this location. This location shares a parking lot with Micheal's and it gets tight if you park out front. People are coming in from the main road and trying to turn in and people that are already parked are backing out so they can leave...well it causes some craziness. I would suggest parking in the back by Dick's and Home Depot to hopefully help. All in all it's a decent trader joe. read more

After breakfast I had the urge to grocery shop and ended up at a different location than the one I normally frequent. I was like parking lot chaos hmmm as I drove up and slid right into the first parking I saw hoping no one would box me in on the way out. It was busy but not crazy and some things were sold out but they checked in the back and eh- still sold out, but that was super nice. I saw unique strawberries and almost splurged but stuck to my list of ony frozen foods and water. The aisles were clean and stocked well. Only hashbrowns were sold out and the folks at the register had me laughing when my son called asking why I drove to Alaska instead of the TJ by our house. And then when leaving someone boxed me in (dang it) and i got distracted and I somehow lost my wallet but they had it. They all knew where it was like I felt like so super blessed and happy but they were funny and nice and reassuring and found it faster than I knew I lost it which is so honest and pure and I feel like even if that didn't happen I would have been given 5 stars because BABY! This is a very busy TJ location, and up until recently, I believe the only TJ on the east side of Queens. Now that there is another newer and larger location in Forest Hills, I hope this Rego Park location is not as overcrowded and understocked as it usually is. Frequent shopper here! I love Trader Joe's for their amazing food and customer service. Today it was 98 degrees and I couldn't help but notice the major temperature difference between the shopping isles vs near the registers. Your employees go above and beyond for their shoppers please keep them hydrated and cool. Maybe consider mini fans for every register, free water and snacks to keep them going. If i was hot standing at check out for three minutes I can only imagine how the employees feel standing and tending to customer after customer. Some of the cashiers looked flustered and hot especially the ones by the moving doors. Sharon and Dana helped me at checkout with a smile and positive attitude regardless of the conditions, they were the absolute sweetest, I appreciate them both for their product knowledge and uplifting chat. By far my favorite Trader Joe's. One of course because they have a parking lot and additional parking across the street. Since the pandemic it is no surprised will be a very long line. The line does go by relatively quickly. I love how the once you enter the store there are the live plants and flowers which allows me to quickly glance to see if there is anything I would to add to my collection. I usually come here to for bread, mochi ice cream, OJ, and other groceries and I was able to find everything I need every time. They seem to have most items in stock. While i love trader joes i was really in shock at how rude the blonde lady at customer service was to me. I asked a question about an item they were out of. I just wanted to know if it was discontinued. She rudely snapped at me pretty much telling me to stop talking. There's sanitizer spray in front of the store for you to spray your cart handle before you shop. There are associates offering help in every aisle! I am a super fan of Trader Joe's and visit at least once every two weeks. Most of their product is great with cute design and reasonable price. Our favorite is their frozen prepared food like pasta, entree and desserts. It's really convenient to have some in your freezer and most importantly it's also delicious. This is a smaller version of Trader Joe's but still has lots to offer. I've been here numerous times and each time I had a pleasant experience not to mention the staff is super helpful and very friendly. Food keeps getting restocked all the time and everything is always fresh, I don't ever remember buying or seeing any expired items. Also if you see a long register line don't worry it really goes by quickly and this is coming from someone who absolutely hates waiting in long lines. This only pain about the location is the parking as it's always full for the most part but people come and go so you really don't have to wait that long for a parking spot. read more

Environment: Busy Sunday, crowded with people Time: Around Noon During the hustle and bustle, I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of traffic here, which is the norm. The store is awfully tight but stock is adequate and constantly refilled, even in the middle of the day. On this trip, unlike the hundreds of other trips I've taken, I grabbed a bottle of dressing which slipped out of my hands. Recounting in slow motion, I could hear myself say NOOOOOOO as it fell onto the floor and burst open. The patron who was near me got splashed. He was extremely kind and said it was okay. Within seconds, two store employees came out of nowhere and coordinated the clean up. I wish I got their names so I could tell the supervisor how calm and collected there both were. One went and grabbed the cleaning supplies while the other guarded the area and offered help to anybody in need. Nothing was done to embarrass me. I didn't get an eye roll nor did any of the workers sigh (for the extra work that had to be done). As I worked my way to the cashiers, cashier #13, meticulously packed my groceries in the bags I brought in. Each bag weighed about the same and everything was packed nicely. As she worked, she created a conversation which made the time fly by without any type of awkwardness. I am humbled that people in the store continue to be kind. (Both patrons and staff) and even though there is another one closer to me, I will continue to come to this location. read more

Came here recently and the line was wrapped around the building two times over early in the morning to pay for a loaf of bread. It has been years of this and Trader Joes has done nothing to mitigate this issue. The parking lot is too small for the target audience. I have seen accidents and immense congestion in this parking lot. Cars having issues getting in and out of this parking lot. They think opening up a Trader Joe's in LIC is going to relieve some of the congestion in the Metropolitan Avenue Trader Joe's location? I doubt that because totally different target audience. That being said, the eggs are priced fairly at Trader Joe's. Pricing for the eggs is better than my local supermarket. I came here specifically to get some plant based non-dairy products. When I looked at the ingredients on the plant based products, I was surprised that Trader Joe's would carry plant based products loaded with gums, sunflower lecithin, etc. I was successful in finding coconut milk in a can that has just coconut milk in it. I thought Trader Joe's has a reputation for better quality groceries. I expected something as common as their nut beverages to not have junk ingredients in it. The groceries are somewhat limited here. I find myself having to shop at other stores to supplement my grocery hauls at TJ's. read more

I haven't been to a TJ's that isn't great and this was is no exception. They practice social distancing and only allow a limited number of people in at a time which I think they should do even POST COVID. Pre-Covid, the store can be so packed, you can't even move...and I'm not exaggerating! But now we line up and ushered in when it's our turn. It's not bad since there is a steady stream of people going out constantly. To give you an idea of the wait, when lined up at the end of the ramp, I would be in the store in less than 10 minutes. And because there are less people in the store, I'm usually out within 15 minutes if I don't do any kind of browsing. The staff is always helpful and happy. The best thing about this location is the availability of parking. That's great. But actually getting what you came for, is another story. I will say, during the week or very early on Saturdays are much easier, but after 11am on a Sunday, you will hate your life, lol. They veggies are always well stocked, its comes down to the prepared stuff and the frozen delights. Scarce at best. The staff is really nice and they will surely help you as best they can. Haven't felt unsafe shopping here throughout the pandemic (they did a great job queuing people and keeping capacity low during the height of it). This Trader Joe's is busy, but not like the ones in Manhattan where the checkout line insanely snakes down through 3 aisles (looking at you, Union Sq & Chelsea). It can get super busy here being at the juncture of Rego Park, Forest Hills, Middle Village, Glendale and Forest Park, but not near a subway stop, so it's not as convenient. Getting a parking spot can be a challenge on the weekends and after work, since they share the lot with Michael's and Staples. But TJ's opens from 8am-10pm, 7 days a week, so that's a plus. When you turn in off Metropolitan Ave through the driveway entrance on Trotting Course Ln, just be careful of clueless people that use the entrance-only as an exit (which is out the back). I love that TJ's is consistent in product quality and selection throughout their stores. From Avocados to Flatbread Pizza to Pork Chops to Tortilla Chips, you know you're getting a good product. That being said, some of the products that I like might not be liked by other people and if it doesn't sell, they get dropped from inventory because new items get rotated in all the time. They spotlight new food items at the sample booth in the back corner, so go try a new burrito, salad or cookie. There's even free coffee and/or cold drinks, though you only get barely a taste in a 3oz Dixie cup. If you look into my shopping basket, it usually has a bunch of 19¢ bananas because where else will you get 5 for under a dollar? Look in the back of the shelf for the big ones because they're all the same price compared to supermarkets that sell by the pound. I also like the super sweet Fuji apples, which range from 49¢ to 79¢ each. Last time, I got the Honey Crisps by mistake ($1.29 ea) and they were sour. Their fresh flowers are also very well priced, especially on Valentine's Day or Mothers Day. Like me, a lot of the time, you're probably on your way home from work thinking about what to make for dinner. Head to TJ's to grab something out of the freezer section, like Mushroom Risotto, Cioppino or Chicken Tikka Masala. They're big on a lot of ethnic foods. Then grab a few fresh vegetables or ready-made salads. It's usually a quick boil, bake, pan fry or microwave and dinner is ready. Score instant points with the SO. Done. read more

I don't know where to begin in my thanks for the customer service at this location. Everyone at this Queens Trader Joe's was super chipper when I came by last week on an overcast, gloomy rainy day. While I had to wait 2.5 hours in line (no exaggeration), it made up for it once I got inside. The employees were very accommodating. There were a few essential items that I couldn't find and they went out of their way to help me locate them. I'd like to give a special shout out to Georgia who rung me out and her manager Angela (I think was her name).
