Our experience with Aphrodite has been abysmal. We selected our quartz countertops from their Chesterfield location on March 7th. It was ordered by our contractor shortly after, and Aphrodite came to measure on March 17th. Their representative complained about having to work St. Patrick's Day, and was upset he wasn't partying with his friends! They told us our install date would be April 1st - longer than we'd wanted, but fine. On March 31st, the same representative who helped us choose our quartz called to say there was some miscommunication and they didn't have what we ordered because they thought it was supposed to be a remnant. This on the day before the install! They told us they'd order the correct slab and install as quickly as possible.
It's now April 17th. We've been told it should be installed on Tuesday, April 21st, but no one has confirmed with us that the slab is in stock or that Tuesday is indeed our installation date. Absolutely zero effort has been made to expedite, or even provide any level of customer service. We have family coming in from out of town next week who will need to get hotel rooms because our shower is delayed so much, adding significant cost to the project.
UPDATED 4/29/15: Aphrodite did show up on 4/21 as they indicated they would. However, prior to their arrival, their owner called me, advising he'd seen my negative reviews, and asked why he should even continue with the installation. Of course, he hadn't heard the whole story from my side (having never bothered to call us previously), so he did come to understand why we were so frustrated. When the installers came, they had to install 5 pieces of quartz. 4 were cut and installed perfectly. The 5th, however, which was to be cut in a similar fashion to 2 others, was not cut correctly. My wife and contractor both were present when the original representative was advised how it should be cut. Yet, despite this, and our previous issues, the owner took the stand that his representative did not make a mistake, our contractor did, and the owner was going above and beyond by correcting someone else's error. Then, the owner made installation of the corrected piece contingent upon receiving his remaining check from the contractor, as he was concerned we would withhold payment for their awful service. He wouldn't confirm they were correcting their error until he got a check that very day. Never mind that the check wasn't needed when they initially installed the quartz. They recognized how bad their service was and feared they might be paid what they deserved.
Throughout this entire saga, Aphrodite refused to accept any responsibility for any customer service issues they caused. In fact, rather than work with me towards better satisfaction, they posted a lengthy and factually inaccurate response about me on a customer review site. They titled it " Sometimes the customer is wrong"! Complete lack of customer service and accountability, at all levels of this business. The owner, Tony, even texted me after I posted a review like this, saying "I shoulda not made vanity and told you to go screw yourself.". This is the kind of person the owner is???
Aphrodite has been an absolute nightmare that has finally ended, and I sincerely hope no one else has to endure their simply awful business practices. read more
