Our new deck completed by Maris. My wife and me are very happy with our new deck. Overall excellent job. 5 ***** stars.
Nick B.

We were pleased with Maris's work and the expert crew they had to do the work. Started 0700. Wrecked out the old deck.prepped the area for the new deck. Repaired the house where the old deck was attached. Placed all the deck supports. Finished the top and attached the black rails. 4;00 PM new deck complete, except concrete support. holes were dug and waiting for Jefferson County inspector to come out and ok the depth. Two days later holes filled with concrete and main supports all secured. Yes we would recommend this company. What

The selection process was pressure-free and at our own pace (Drew was great). Scheduling was easy, and within a few weeks of signing the papers, we had our deck and fence replaced. Both jobs were completed in great time. Good crews, good communication, zero problems. Be prepared. Fences and decks are not (and should not) be cheap. Be prepared to discuss/understand permitting, municipal surveying, and inspections. Take your time and be patient--with ANY deck and fence vendor.

I have decided to post my review on Yelp, after having a terrible experience with them and reading…read moreof the other posts on Yelp. It is just not a reputable company, and their practices to feed off insurance is shocking. My neighbor had their fence done by them 2 years ago, and, as we shared the cost of our joint fence, I called them up for an estimate to redo our back fence following the tornado. When they saw the tornado damage, they sent me a quote back for essentially the same job (except one side, not three). This was 44% more than what was paid two years ago!? The salesman provided no reason; wood or labor has not gone up by these amounts. And the cost that had been quoted two years was not a bargain to begin with ($5,257.05 for one side of fence). It is shocking to me that a company that intends to maintain a reputation should exploit those hit by the tornado for easy cash. I would have understood if they were too busy and could not take more jobs, or even if they had a longer delay. But Nick W. said they could actually start fairly quickly, so it's not issue of labor. I shared my concerns about this practice, and they accused me, completely out of nowhere, to be aggressive. I did ask them if they had suddenly increased their price in response to the tornado, and they did not respond. But I resent this attempt at making personal attacks, as this is completely wrong and just not descriptive of just asking a reasonable question. Unfortunately, this strategy of making things personal is all too common when someone they don't like the question. So, my response is to keep it to the substance of the issue. After the fact, when I wrote to make this public, since people and insurance companies should know about their change in prices (and ask them questions). They actually claimed that materials had gone up, to quote lumber by 28-42 %, concrete by ~35 %, labor/fuel/insurance by 18-25 %. And even claimed sources (BLS Producer Price Index, local supplier invoices, and Missouri Department of Insurance rate filings). That is completely false as any serious study would see https://www.bls.gov/regions/mid-atlantic/data/producerpriceindexlogging_us_tables.htm for a source. Of course, even then, we'd be quite far from a 44% price hike exactly when insurances are ready to pay up! Again, this is a very disappointing and there are many better reputable companies here in St Louis that do not feed on the misery of others. In the end, I am glad that we did not do business with them but I hope that bad experience will be informative to others!

I'm not sure how to sum up such a disappointing experience. Talk about a $40K lesson!…read more I reached out after seeing the 60% off installation promotion. They quickly scheduled an appointment and had someone out to provide a quote in no time. The salesman/PM, Gary, was very personable and did a great job explaining everything they could do for our deck/pergola project--I was sold instantly. He emphasized that he would be "our person" throughout the entire project. He provided a 3D rendering of what the project would look like, worked through final pricing, got our job scheduled fast, and even waited for our HELOC to be funded for the down payment. AWESOME, right? Unfortunately, things went downhill as soon as we paid the $15K deposit. Our administrator, Jordan, called the last week of February to let us know we were ready to begin the project the week of March 9th and said she would call by Friday to confirm the exact start date. We informed her that we had not received the requested documents for our HOA, and she said she would follow up. We made it clear that we needed HOA approval before work could begin. When we didn't hear from her that Friday, we emailed both her and Gary for a status update. The documents were supposed to include a final rendering (pictured above) to give a realistic preview of the project because we changed portions of the deck to white. Gary told us those documents would come from the admin team--but we never heard from Jordan again. On Monday, March 9th, workers showed up at our door at 7 a.m. stating they were starting the project . We rushed to get preliminary HOA approval while texting Gary that we still needed those documents. He would occasionally text or call saying he was "working on them." I escalated the issue to corporate and spoke with a representative who agreed the situation was unacceptable and said someone would follow up--no one ever did. We never received a call from corporate, and we never received the documents from Gary. Eventually, he stopped communicating with us entirely for the remainder of the project. As for the project itself, the deck is beautiful--I'll give them that. However, here are my issues: 1. Part of the scope included relocating the deck steps. When they cut down the old steps, they didn't remove the wood from the ground--it was still sticking out. 2. Nails and debris were left all over our backyard. 3. The pergola and final project look nothing like the rendering (pictured above). The field PM, Donnie, explained that what was written in the contract doesn't match the rendering, and they go strictly by what's on paper. Now we have to spend even more money to have it stained to match what we were originally sold. In other words, the rendering was a misrepresentation of what we paid for. They weren't able to complete the project right away due to additional issues and missing pieces, but it was ultimately finished on March 31st. Of course, they had no problem calling and emailing about final payment that day. Donnie was the only person who finally provided the documents and made an effort to address some of the other issues I don't even have the energy to list--but take my advice: this company is not the 5 star experience I thought they would be. They sold us a vision, did a vague contract and got us with the "oh sorry...the rendering doesn't match the contract...we go by contract print only." We had to get an attorney involved just to get them to get someone out here to remove the step stumps and debris. The only reason we didnt proceed with a fight in court is because we had a new baby in the midst of the mess didn't want the added stress. We paid nearly $40K for a project that still needs additional work, and we were treated terribly throughout the process and from the entire corporate team. Let us take the loss for you--find a different company.

Permaseal USA, located in St. Louis County Missouri, is not or has not, honored a 25 year warranty…read morethat was included in the selling of their deck sealing treatment. I have been ignored presently when calling this company about the rot and deterioration of my wood deck; which was treated in 2019. Approximately a year ago, I called the company and one of their employees came out to look at the damage and was assured that it would be taken care of; since the damage had occurred after their treatment. My deck was completely fine with no rot or deterioration prior to their treatment. The construction repair employee, named Kevin, said that he would come back with the wood needed or required to repair my deck. As recent as a couple of months ago I even spoke with Ben Jensen, the owner of the company; whom also reassured me that he would honor the 25 year warranty for this problem. Now, within about the last few weeks, all that I have received from the company is a couple of e-mails from Neal, a manager, stating that the warranty does not cover any replacement of wood that has rotted or deteriorated. I have a warranty that states any wood that rots or deteriorates after the treatment would be covered under the warranty. What good is the warranty if they won't replace wood that has rotted after their treatment? My deck was in perfect condition before they treated it; as they surely wouldn't warranty the treatment if any previous rot or deterioration was present! I have also filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney general and the Better Business Bureau. Apparently, this company is trying to avoid honoring the 25 year warranty and not standing behind their treatment service! Sent from Mail for Windows

Andrea Purvis 2 reviews…read more just now NEW Early January the strong winds unfortunately blew our 6ft wood fence over. I had called several companies for bids to solely replace/repair our posts (as we have 3 dogs) a solid fence is a given necessity. Casey came out and was absolutely lovely. He was punctual, informative, and all around a very personable guy. We ended up going with Casey because I truly felt that he cared about our situation in securing our fence for our pups. He wasn't concerned about up-selling or making more money. He cared about what we needed. He kept me informed every week of any updates that I needed to be aware of. Once he told me the start date I was so excited! His crew showed up promptly on time, were so polite and respectful of my home, and were also personable as all get out. I don't know about you guys, but I love working with people that actually love their jobs, their coworkers, and take pride in their work. I had the pleasure today to work with Casey, Patrick, and Axel. I couldn't even make up a bad thing to say. They were all perfect, kind, just truly lovely. Our project Im sure wasn't the largest, but they made me feel like it was with the care they took completing it. They walked me through everything they did, showed me how secure it was, and cleaned up like nothing ever happened. We will certainly be using them moving forward always. I let it go at the time, but in hindsight it reflects a lack of attention to detail on the initial installation. I wish I had paid closer attention at the time of install. While the fence looked great at first, multiple issues have come up within six months. There are nails protruding through several areas, some boards were never properly attached, and both gates have repeatedly failed to function correctly--we often have to force them open just to get in and out of the yard. A wooden topper has also come loose and is now flapping in the wind. To their credit, they did respond to my initial concerns, but new problems continue to surface. Taken together, this raises concerns about the overall quality and durability of the work. I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the installation before considering the job complete.
